- I can't help. - Yes, you can!

I told you i-- I'm taking myself out of it.

- No, you're coming.

Let's go.

- Zach and sam's room is the epicenter of right wing america.

- He's gonna love it.

- I mean, this is a nice flag though, too, it is.

- Mm-hmm, it's beautiful.

Probably my favorite thing in the entire world.

Beautiful.

- [Laughs] - god, I love my life.

- Where do you wanna put your sticker?

- Oh, I'm gonna put it on his side of the lamp.

- You can put on the-- the sh**ting range.

[Laughs] oh, no.

- Oh, my god, he's--

He will never [laughs]

- It's a cowboy going sh**ting.

It was an amazing, amazing day.

I'm so happy to have-- to have sam in this house

And she got me--

She got all of our roommates these rainbow bracelets.

And I can promise you that if sam wasn't here,

I wouldn't be doing any of this stuff.

I wouldn't be going to g*y bars.

I've never been to a g*y bar

And I wouldn't have been if sam wasn't here.

I would never be sporting a rainbow bracelet

Around my wrist,

And I'm so proud to be wearing it.

I'm so proud to be going to pride with her.

I'm just so--so happy.

I wouldn't be doing any of this without you here.

So, thanks.

- I come home to find a rainbow american flag

Hanging on my wall in my room.

- What's up, zach?

Look, you don't have to take these,

But I got you one just for pride.

- Thank you. - I know.

Did you see my awesome flag?

- Love it.

- You're welcome.

- I'm not thanking you, but... - [Laughs]

- I think sam definitely put the flag on the wall

As a little jab

Towards me, but it's her half of the room.

She can do what she wants.

- Ready for work.

I need to put shoes on.

First day of work,

We all have our matching house of blues uniforms.

- [Laughs] is that cherry? - Yes.

- [French accent] it is the cherry.

- You know, I'm really excited about this job.

- All right, well, busy day today.

You know, first day of training, you got a lot going on,

So I think it's time to introduce you to the troops.

- Let's go. - Cool, all right.

- Yeah. - All right.

- Paired up with nate, for stagehand,

And we meet our boss, which is d.c.

D.c. Is gonna make it a lot of fun.

- I'll call you when the band comes up.

- All right, sounds good.

- So, the eye-hand coordination is like a stage manager thing.

Basically, to see how it--like I might you know, see how fast

You quick--you know, if you're quick like,

Tell me just like, you see a mike stand fall and be like "oh"

And so they--it looks like they came up with the test

A few years ago, like back in the 's.

- The stage manager d.c., He's cool dude.

Real chill, laid back, easy to work with, and he--

And he knows his [bleep].

- You're gonna start like that.

And you're gonna start going like this, all right?

Now, I'll go , , , , , then you close your eyes.

Some people can't do this without hitting a hand.

They can't just keep doing it.

Once they close their eyes, they keep hitting hands.

Some people can just keep doing it without hitting hands

And keep going so...

- I start out with my eyes open, right?

- Yeah, yeah, get used to it and I'll tell you.

I'll say you comfortable and you say yeah.

Five, four, three, two, one.

Close your eyes.

[Laughing]

- Wait, are you still there?

[Clapping] bravo, house of blues, you got me.

You can only applaud a good one.

Damn it.

- Oh, now I gotta get some-- that was good.

- For your certification,

We're gonna do just one mock seating.

Like, you guys will both seat me at the same time.

But just seat me like a guest.

- All right. - Okay, here we go.

- Hey, welcome to the house of blues.

- How you doin'?

- Are you seeing the show tonight?

Or just hanging out for dinner?

- No, I would just-- I wanna get some dinner.

I've never been here before so. -Sure, have a bite.

- Well, there's a great live band playing right now.

So, if you just follow us this way, we'll sit you down.

- Great.

- [Indistinct]

- Hi, how are you?

- Could I get a margarita rock salt and a shirley temple?

- Yeah.

- Ashley is the bartender, I'm the bar back,

Which makes me ashley's assistant.

- Thank you, guys.

- Always leave a little bit of bait.

Did you ever use that term before, "bait?"

- I use my face for that.

- [Laughing]

He's like, "we leave some money on the bar for bait."

I was like, "I just use my face for that."

[Laughing]

I don't know if zach necessarily resents the fact

That I'm in a more superior position.

Excuse me. Beep, beep.

But I love it.

- Got it?

- Let's talk real fast about saturday and sunday.

We'll sneak up in here.

Next week is pride festival.

- Yes. - We're wondering what

Our schedule's gonna be like.

That's like our big weekend here.

- And it's gonna be a big weekend for us as well.

In the next day or so, we're actually gonna get exactly

Where we're gonna be at at pride.

- At pride? - At pride.

- Yeah, so I'll send you an email with the map

And we have a booth.

- Currently, we have to work at the g*y pride parade.

- Zach has to go to pride, it's his job.

So he's not gonna face

Just two g*y roommates that he lives with.

He's gonna face thousands of gays

And thousands of people that support gays.

And he's gonna have to open up his mind and shut his mouth.

It's just the way it's gonna have to be.

- It's very frustrating 'cause I've never been a part of this

Nor have I ever supported this,

So I am absolutely, % freaked out.

[Slow music]

- All right. - So...my friends...

Were at the hospital this morning.

- Mm-hmm.

- And, uh, they were talking to katy, you know,

"Do want anything?

Do you need anything, you know?"

And she was like, "bacon and deodorant."

[Laughs] that's her favorite thing in the world: bacon.

- Uh, there's-- do you wanna send her--

Do you wanna send her bacon chocolate chip pancake mix?

It's the best.

It's so good. - That sounds--

- Does she like pancakes?

- She likes everything.

- Okay, I know where to get it online, and it is so good.

- Okay. - It's like salty and sweet.

- Her birthday is on thursday. - Oh, perfect.

- Yeah. - Well, not really perfect--

- Perfect, but not.

- Right, right.

- Frank's cool.

I love him to death.

And it's great to know that I have somebody

That is just supportive of me.

I got it, I got it. - You got it?

- Hold on, hold on.

- Hey. - Oh.

- Brock. - Yeah.

- I got a question for you. - Okay.

- 'Cause you're in the army.

I've been asked to do charity work

At a g*y pride parade or something for the military,

And I don't wanna do it. Am I just--

- I wouldn't. - Okay, thank you.

- I wouldn't do it.

- Okay, thanks. - Yeah.

- This whole pride weekend thing.

If they wanna go out and have fun, good for them.

Like I'm happy for them,

But this has nothing to do with me.

I like to go to church.

I like to go to the gym.

I like to go to g*n ranges, and anyone is invited to go,

But if they choose not to go with me,

I'm not going to think that they think less of me.

- Hey, thursday night, there's a l*sbian highlighter party.

We have a vip booth and vip bottle service, it's comped.

I invite all my roommates to the l*sbian highlight party.

This is a really big deal.

It's kind of like the kickoff to pride.

It's all-lesbians, you all wear white, and you get highlighters,

And write all over people.

You and ashley are more than welcome to come.

I would love for you guys to be there.

- I'm gonna get a vip pass. - He's going.

- Do I have to have a lot of people write on me?

- I will. - Yeah.

I'll buy you a brand-new pack of undershirts.

And I'm gonna be on the bar covered in whipped cream

And people are gonna be dancing on me.

- Oh, yeah, sam is doing that. - Wow.

- Oh, am I really making you puke already?

Damn it.

- I don't know why any straight guy would opt out

Of a l*sbian highlighter party

With free bottle service and vip.

So you're gonna do the-- the [bleep] bar?

- We'll see, I don't know.

- I'm stoked, I'm going.

- There's gonna be gays, lesbians, everybody there.

- I don't really wanna go to a l*sbian bar,

But I don't know what I'm gonna do.

[Piano music]

- What's going on, dude?

- I'm losing my mind.

- Why, what happened?

- Because like, they're going to a g*y--like a g*y night club

Tonight and like, here's the thing like.

It's a highlighter party, so like, there's gonna be like,

g*y people walking around writing on everyone.

And I'm just like-- it's not like--

And the thing is if you go to a highlighter party like,

And someone comes up to write on you,

And you spaz out on them, you're the a*s[bleep] because...

-[Indistinct] - right, don't go to a

Highlighter party, if you don't want a g*y guy to write on you.

- And let's not leave that you're a good-looking dude,

Like you're big, they're gonna be all over you.

- Yeah, that's what I was thinking.

- Climbing all over you.

- And I'm not trying to be like that guy because I guarantee

If I say that, he's gonna be, "oh, don't flatter yourself."

But I got long hair and really white teeth,

I just got an eyebrow job, like i--

You know, I'm already--

I'm already on the line, you know, like.

- [Laughs] yeah, you're already pretty metro.

- [Laughs]

- I don't care about what he does.

I just--i would love to see him open up his mind

Even if it's not to g*y stuff.

- For--for now, the fact that he's even in this house,

Staying in that room with the flag,

Like, he's taking steps, it's just not--

- Sure.

- He's not-- he's not gonna be like,

"Whoo hoo, I'm cool with it all now."

You know, it's like--yeah. - Nobody's asking for that.

- If he decides sunday to go to the highlighter party

Or to hang out out at pride for reasons other than work,

Like that may or may not happen, but just being here...

- That's not what's important.

- Just being here, I promise you,

Is opening his mind even if he's not trying.

- Sure.

[Club music]

- Lesbo party!

Tonight is the l*sbian highlighter party at riches.

I'm really excited and I really can't wait for them

To see how awesome this community is.

- They said, "oh, we don't [indistinct]"

- You're not wearing white?

- I'm not going to the highlighter party tonight.

You mad at me?

- Nope.

You know, sam's--sam's pissed.

- I know.

- I played around with the idea of going to a l*sbian bar

With my roommates, but I never committed to anything,

And even if I did, you know, people change their mind

Then--then no one should care that much.

- Okay.

- All I ask of zach and ashley

Is to give me at least one night.

One night to show you how awesome

The g*y community really is.

So, of course I'm upset, you know, that sucks.

I really wanted them--i really want them to go with me.

- Ash, same for you? - What?

- Are you gonna go downtown?

- I don't know.

I don't--at this point, I don't feel like doing anything.

- All right.

I'm just trying to get a handle on things.

This means a lot to sam, but zach and ashley,

Instead of just saying, "hey, no, we hate g*y people.

We're not going."

They just brush it off as if they were never

Going to go to the highlighter party.

- Who knows?

- I feel bad for sam.

- They are mad at us.

- I don't care.

What are they gonna do?

Fight me?

- I'm going to get everything rainbow I can, and I'm gonna--

- But why, why do you wanna do that?

- Why?

Because that's me.

- [Whispers] sam, come here and sit down for a second.

I know exactly how you feel.

I am % as frustrated as you are, and, sam...

- I'm not, 'cause see, I'm going to show it.

I don't care.

- Sam, sam--i know but, sam,

Tell me I wouldn't be fighting right now, you know I would.

You know how I feel inside.

But it is so, so, so important

That you and I are the positive ones in this, okay?

- You're right. - Seriously.

- Which is why we should influence other people.

- So don't--so don't fight.

- No, I'm not gonna fight.

- Don't even say anything.

Just... - Why?

Because that's backing down.

- It's not backing down.

- No, stop.

We're here to make a stand for who we are.

- I-- - no, stop.

This is who I am.

He's the cowboy. I'm g*y.

I want them to be there.

I want to introduce that to them.

Do you know that?

Like he didn't get this--this--

This is how important this weekend to me is

And for you and I to go do this,

And for you and I to volunteer,

And for you and I to influence nate, who doesn't know,

To come out with us.

To have alex come and volunteer with us,

To have priscilla-- that's seven people.

That you and I have done something with already.

And it's them and have a cement block around their heads.

That's how I feel.

- I know. -That's why I'm so mad.

But that's why we get bashed so hard.

It's because we back down, and I'm not gonna back down.

I backed down too many times.

I'm here for a reason, I'm gonna show that reason.

I'm g*y and I love it.

I'm proud to be g*y and I will stand

For every [bleep] right I have.

- On the nextreal world. - Pride!

- Here come the military, right here.

History is being made in front of my eyes.

And I couldn't be more proud.

- I am...falling in love.

I've never held hands with a guy.

Never made out with a guy in public.

If anybody's uncomfortable with it,

Sorry, this is my weekend.

- Oh, god, don't do it. Don't--please don't do it.

I am absolutely, % freaked out.

- Are you guys just hitting at each other

Or are you guys playing the right way?

- No, we're playing a game. - Yeah.

- Who's taking the shots? - We're so good at this.

- I'm chasing the chicks, man. - Sam, find two more ba*ls.

- Thanks, man. - No pun intended.

- Thanks, man.

Oh!

- [Laughter] - damn it.

- All right, now it's your turn.

You got to sh**t one at me.

- Yeah, you got to sh**t it at sam's back

As hard as you can.

Oh, my gosh, you may be the worst athlete I've ever seen.

- [Chuckles] hands down.

Oh, my goodness. - Oh, you whiffed again.

- Okay. - You hit my hand real good.

- Okay, go.

- Oh, my gosh.

- Oh, my gosh.
