[newswoman] School administrators
at the embattled Ewen High School

"How could we have seen this coming?"

It's like, "How could you not?"

And I think we need to do something

about this horrible, horrible

crime that's taking over our society.

[newswoman] The school now faces

multiple lawsuits from parents of students

on both sides of the scandal, in which

students and teachers were targeted by

a malicious social media account.

Peter Morton,
the school's guidance counselor,

has reportedly resigned over the riot,

while remaining administrators

weigh whether to cancel
Ewen's annual senior prom.

As consequences mount,
the two loudest voices in the conflict

remain notably absent.

John Hargensen, father of the student

expelled for creating the now

infamous @CarrieRed account,

has been arrested on unrelated charges

of embezzlement from his law firm.

While Margaret White... an outspoken

parents' rights activist,
social media star, and mother

of the scandal's most prominent victim...
