RAGE

These days,
I haven't felt like raiding

any new temples of auteur cuisine,

so there'll be
no gastronomic review today.

Our kitchen celebrities
can chill out for the moment

and just keep on polishing up
their Michelin stars.

But next week,
their luck may run out.

I've got a couple
of new places to try.

I won't say where, but here
are some juicy clues for you.

A fusion of Asturian
and Japanese cuisine,

and the deconstructed
Castilian cuisine.

I'm pretty much giving it
all away now.

-Ah, fusion and deconstruction.
-[intriguing music playing]

These two words are irrefutable proof
of our decadence, don't you think?

[intercom ringing]

[calling out] Abraham, open the door!

Sorry, I have to go. See you soon.

And remember to hit
the Like button below,

and if you're following me,
even better.

g*dd*mn it.

-[touchpad beeps]
-Hello. What is it?

Oh, hi there. Uh, how are you?

I have a gift for you
from the Swine Breeders' Association.

One moment.

[calling out] Abraham!

-Damn it.
-I'll wait here.

[touchpad beeps]

[Emilio]
Abraham, I've been calling you, man.

You didn't hear me? Are you deaf?
The door!

-How've you been?
-[groans]

-You okay?
-Uh, yeah. I'm fine. I'm fine.

But it feels like
the world's becoming

more and more sinister and complex.

That's interesting.

I've been experiencing
the opposite of you.

More like hope, and it's beautiful.

-You believe that?
-Yeah.

Hmm... Wanna sh**t with me?

No, no, no. [stammers] I'll call you.

[both vocalize warmly] Mm!

-Thanks.
-Thanks.

See you.

[intriguing music continues playing]

[man] Watch out, watch out.

Come on, pig. Get down.
Come on, come on. Come on.

[pig snorting]

Look, look. Come on, pig.
Look at the acorn! Hey.

Hey, hey, hey.

-Hey, hey. Come on, come on.
-No. Is that him?

That's it. We just wanted
to take a moment to thank you

for your ongoing support
of the swine sector,

especially during these tough times.

We're really having a hard time.

This is truly
a first-class animal, hm?

-Iberian, 100-percent acorn-fed.
-Hmm... Right.

-Well, thank you so much, huh?
-[chuckles]

So if I end up getting fond of it,
what do I--?

You'll get fond of it, for sure,
because he's an adorable animal,

but you'll want to eat it as well.

Just call me
and I'll send the butcher.

He'll have it ready by the afternoon.

You'll have more than enough
food, meat, and cold cuts

to feed guests at seven weddings.

-Okay, I'll call you about that.
-All right.

-Would you like a drink?
-A drink? Sure.

-Do you have a beer?
-Yeah. Sure.

Whatever you want. Come in.

I haven't heard anything about that.
How did you get in, though?

The front gate was open, but I guess
I'm leaving, then.

[chuckles] I'm going.

Thank you, though.

[breathing heavily]

[lively music playing]

[door closes]

-Ma'am.
-Yes?

They're dropping the dress off
for you.

-Not now, not now.
-But she's already here.

-Hey there. How are you?
-[Nat] Hello.

Did we have an appointment?

[Nat] No, but since
the adjustment was ready,

I thought I'd bring it myself.
Could squeeze in one last fitting.

-Your event's tomorrow?
-Yeah.

Look how pretty it turned out.
Don't you love it?

You tried them all,
but you chose the best one.

-Don't you think it's beautiful?
-I'm not sure.

I've asked a lot,

but now I'm thinking I should
wear something more comfortable.

I'm not sure.

Comfortable? They sold us the idea
that comfort is a sign of happiness.

But that's a complete lie.

Choosing comfort
is actually a sign of decadence.

In fact, my mission is
to make my customers understand

that we need to embrace fashion again
if we truly want to survive,

especially in the Western world.

-So would you please try it on?
-No. I don't feel like it right now.

-I brought it so you could try it on.
-But I'm not really up for it.

-You have to try it on, though.
-No.

-But it's your dress.

about you being smarter than a child.

And I'm on the Do Not Call list,

There.

No. Wait, wait, wait. Hold a second.

Okay.

No, I won't put it on. No.

-What is this?
-It's eggplant.

This eggplant, you know,
tastes like steak.

I didn't go vegan
just to cling to recipes

that make you feel like
you're consuming an animal.

How was your day?

There was this young woman, 27,
who came to the office this morning

with some photographs created
with artificial intelligence.

A perfected version of herself.
Flawless, unattainable, the ideal.

That's what she wanted us
to help her become.

I mean, all that just makes me feel

-Mm-hm...

I know, Vera. I know.

But such a clear point of reference.
Please, something this concrete?

I mean, I don't think
we can reach that level,

such a high expectation

can help us, you know?

To elevate the standard
of our results.

-What about you?
-I'm great.

[utensils clanking softly]

I saw Emilio Duran today.

You saw him? Really? Where?

Apparently, he lives in the same area
as Marga and Roberto.

Well, fortunately, we've moved
past all that now, haven't we?

Absolutely.

-How's the wine?
-It's very nice.

-[Vera] Hmm?
-[Borja] Mm-hm...

I figured I'd order a case
and try it out.

It comes from organic farming
and uses carbonic maceration.

It does the trick. It's effective.
Very good. Very good.

They were delivering a pig to him.

It's odd that even though he lives
in the same neighborhood as Marga,

you hadn't run into him before now.

"Humdrum cuisine,
masquerading as a form of authorship

all thanks to the opportunistic
demagogy surrounding sustainability

and the snobbery of veganism.

A narrative built around change,

but only to benefit
from the existing system."

Vera, we both agreed
that the tendency

to obsessively memorize bad reviews

is definitely a clear sign
of compulsive behavior.

I don't know. I thought
you'd forgotten all about this.

Borja, that's what I did.

But when I saw him today,
it all resurfaced.

Every word, line by line.

It wasn't just a review, all right?

I mean, what his campaign caused
was the downfall of my restaurant.

Please, Vera, don't lift the lid
off that bucket of sh*t again.

We've been down that road,
and it is not worth it.

Borja, please, just relax. I'm fine.
Can't you see? I'm absolutely fine.

I didn't expect to see him at all.

but out of nowhere,
I saw him, he was right there,

I need to express it,
and I don't know, uh...

it's pure unloading.

You're right. Mm.

The lychees. Lychees in tempura.
They're quite a discovery.

[utensils clanking softly]

Well, it's the contrast
of the sweet batter

with the kick of curry.

It does the trick. Mm-hm...

Borja... [clears throat]

you always say, "It does the trick."

-Yeah. And?
-I don't know.

You never tell me,
"It's tasty," "That's good,"

"What a pleasure in the mouth,"
"Vera, you're such a good cook."

-You always say, "It does the trick."
-Right. Well, yeah.

I like it when things work,
when it does the trick, Vera.

A lot of them. You're a scumbag!

-Yeah, yeah. You recorded her?
-Don't you dare record me!

So there you have it, folks.
You saw what happened.

They threw me out again.

Only this time, it was
the sustainable chef herself.

What an honor. Vera's star ranking
might fall, but her face won't move.

She won't touch a sirloin,

but she'll prepare a cabbage
like it's a mid-rare filet.

But if you look at her face,
you'll see a little hyaluronic boost

courtesy of her husband,
the star surgeon.

And do you think Vera has any idea
where hyaluronic acid comes from?

Roosters' combs and shark fins.

-[Vera] Get out of here!
-You're so sustainable.

-Here she is.
-I'll call the police and report you!

I hope that's clear! f*ck off!

Get out of here!

[shouting angrily] Stop recording me!

[intriguing music playing]

the gate open last night,

then how do you explain
a pig getting out on its own?

Because I'm sure
I didn't give it the key.

Okay. Here.

Okay, Vera. You ready now?

Is this the vegan one?

You always circle back

But underestimating the influence
of these Internet critics

We're not canceling your contract.
Of course not. That won't happen.

But...

But extirpate? I've never had

Let me go! Untie me! Untie me!

Give me a moment! Shut up!
It's my husband!

-I have to take the damn call.
-[muffled grunting]

Otherwise he'll get suspicious
and he might show up at Marga's.

-Stay quiet. Stay quiet.
-[muffled shouting]

Hello, Borja. Hi.
Is everything all right?

[disjointed music playing]

Yes, yes, same. Everything's fine.

Yeah, the party was awesome.
Yes, yes.

Um, okay. I'm spending the whole day
with them. Hope that's all right.

Yeah, of course I'll see you later.
Of course.

All right, my love.
Sounds great. Perfect.

Bye, see you soon. See you.

[cell phone beeps]

I don't think he believed me.

Like I'm hiding
some lover in the closet.

Can you imagine that? [laughs]

Borja, jealous at this point?
It's unbelievable.

[muffled screaming]

It's better if you don't scream.
No one's gonna hear you out here.

And let me tell you,
being gagged is no minor discomfort.

I personally would die of anxiety.

[gasping]

Come on? What are you trying to do?
k*ll me, or what?

I don't know
what you're talking about.

I just want you to try my food
so you change your mind.

I'm not changing my mind.
Not now, not ever.

Well, I'm betting
that my meat dish will do the trick.

But it's not your food
that disgusts me about you.

It's your mediocre discourse.
It's your demagogy.

You're a liar who goes on
about fixing the world

while padding your bank account
and chasing fame.

And you're just a frustrated freak

who realized it was easier
to make noise

than to write anything decent,
so you picked a fight with the world,

hoping someone would
finally pay attention. [chuckles]

What do you think?
There was justice in that?

Yes. Yeah, but I live off my hatred.

And it's my hatred.
It's mine. It's genuine.

You're nothing but a poser,
a fake artist.

You're just a worm that burrows
into the heart of the system,

cloaked in the illusion of a savior.

What you do is much worse.
Believe me.

I'm going to carefully
slice off your testicles

and prepare them in
a traditional recipe from my grandma,

called "Testicles in Spanish Sauce."

I won't add potatoes,
even though they'd be great,

because you're already fat enough.

[chuckles dismissively]
What do you think, huh?

That I'm a fool or something, huh?

You wouldn't even know how to do it.

You don't know how
to execute anything. Not a thing.

You're just-- [stammers]

You're just a jerk,
but you're not crazy, right?

Just the other day, they were
talking about that on television.

About the chaotic madness
we're all living in these days.

Now, everything's selfishness,
violence, and every man for himself.

I mean, we constantly find ourselves

contemplating the idea
that the end is near,

yet strangely, even that...
[chuckles] thought fails

to bring out anything good in us.

We're nothing more than selfishness,
cruelty, and madness.

Have you noticed?

You can't put me under anesthesia.
You haven't done a pre-op test,

or any kind of test, for that matter.

My stomach's not even empty,
you know?

Doctors take those precautions
very seriously

to minimize any potential risks,

but I hate you very much, Emilio.

I don't really need to be
that careful with you.

[gasping shakily]
No, no, don't. Don't do this!

Hello? Help!

[groaning]

Okay. I'll start prepping our lunch.

[techno music playing]
