there was a little
mouse called Marvin.
(Running water)
One day, Martin set
off across the meadow.
He was looking for a
nice warm mouse hole.
Marvin saw a rabbit hole.
"This looks like a nice
warm hole," he thought,
and he crept inside.
But oh dear, it was
cold in the rabbit hole.
And besides, there
were too many rabbits.
So Marvin went
back to the meadow.
Then he saw a queen
wasp sitting in a hole
in an oak stump.
"Please may I squeeze in
beside you?" asked Marvin.
"Hmm, if you must",
replied the queen wasp.
But the wind blew all
around the oak stump
and made Marvin shiver.
(Wind howling)

So Marvin went
back to the meadow.
Next, he found a stone.
He looked underneath it,
and there was a big
toad, sitting in a hole.
"Please may I squeeze in
beside you?" asked Marvin.
"Right, if you must,"
replied the toad.
But it was damp and chilly,
and Marvin didn't like
it one little bit.
So Marvin went
back to the meadow.
Suddenly, a snake
slid across the grass.
(Hissing)
Marvin was so
frightened that he ran
as fast as he could.
He ran past the rabbit hole,
past the tree stump,
and past the stone.
Then suddenly he stumbled
over the roots of a tree
and he fell down, down, down.
He landed with a bump.
He looked around and
where do you think he was?
In a lovely hole full
of crisp, dry leaves.
He snuggled down, this
was just what he wanted.
