The Pokémon League

is really a simple concept.

It's a tournament

to find the best trainer in Alola

and crown them champion!

But finding a champion is not the most

important aspect of the League.

It's to bring all the trainers and Pokémon

together with one goal.

To work hard and put everything

into battling.

Then we will achieve our goal!

Whenever trainers dedicate themselves

percent,

it's not only admirable,

but also exhilarating.

I believe the passion demonstrated

in these battles will move

and give hope to the future dreams

of many.

becomes champion and represents Alola?

But we have other customs

set aside as well.

One of which is the island challenge

grand trial

that took place at Mount Lanakila.

I believe this was the location

where the champion was decided.

[Nanu] Professor Kukui has always wanted

to revive that ancient custom,

but allow anyone to participate.

Trainers and Pokémon,

bringing out the best

will compete

in a contest of true strength.

And I, for one,

feel such a format is best.

[cheering]

And compelled by the strength

of such ambitions,

we at the Aether Foundation decided

to do whatever we can

to support the league.
