It was a large asteroid

until it burned up in the atmosphere.

By the time it landed, this was all that remained.

But obviously I'm not the only one who wants it.

That's right.

But I can't figure out why they want it so badly.

ASH Does it have some power

they could use for something bad?

COZMO Possibly, but I don't know.

All I want is to study it.

Good question.

The universe is chock-full of questions and mysteries.

Mysteries? Like what?

Oh, boy, there are so many things

we still don't know about the universe

that I don't know where to start!

I guess I chose to study asteroids and meteorites

because they're one of the few things from space

we can actually touch with our hands.

At the end of a long journey

giant asteroids finally come crashing

into the Earth's atmosphere.

We see them as meteors, streaking across the night sky

quickly growing smaller and smaller, becoming meteorites.

'By the time they reach us here on Earth'

'they've covered unimaginable distances in space and time.'

They are quite the travelers, wouldn't you agree?

Yeah, it's pretty awesome when you look at it that way.

[AMAZED]

Which is why I'm not about to let those costumed creeps

take this one to use for their evil purposes!

[APPEARING]/[SHOCKED]

trying to make it active again!

And I'll bet they've found a way

to use that meteorite as their detonator.

I'm not sure, Ash.

But if we don't stop this

'that lava could come rushing out of there!'

Well, then what we need to do is sneak up to that laser thing

and steal the meteorite out of it.

Right, now if I can create a distraction

while you try and get to the laser

this just might work!

along with the laser. I guess we failed.

We may not have gotten the meteorite

but at least we managed to interfere

with Team Magma's plan. Team Aqua, back to the ship!

It's unfortunate that the experiment failed, sir.

Not as long as there is knowledge gained.

We learned the limits of our volcano system

and not only that

'we were able to foil Team Aqua's plans!'

Well, any loss for Team Magma is a win for us

the way I look at it!
