journey to the Kanto Region


our heroes have arrived at another


of the Decolore Islands


along with Pokémon journalist Alexa.


Conley Comet, huh?


[INCREDULOUS] Right, and tonight is special


because the comet will be passing


over this particular island.


ALEXA And that's the place to see it.


The Conley Comet is beautiful.


And it's only visible to the naked eye


once every ten years or so.


To be able to witness such a fantastic celestial display


is a lifetime dream come true.


And the information I've collected tells me that a group


of Pokémon mysteriously gather on the mountain.


The strange thing is, they appear to get together


only as the comet approaches.


Wow! So, why do they do that?


Honestly? I haven't the foggiest idea.


But this Pokémon journalist has every intention


of getting to the bottom of it.

I can't wait to see what kind of Pokémon will be there.

You see, this island once had quite a large population


and they were very prosperous.


It's easy to see the proof from these ruins.


So, what do you say we stop here and have an early dinner?

According to recovered records from long ago


several groups of Pokémon attacked all the islanders.


- Why would they do that? - That's weird.


ALEXA 'They tried unsuccessfully


to subdue the attacking Pokémon'


and before they knew it, the entire island


had found itself thrown into complete chaos.


Did the islanders surrender?


Yes, but all of a sudden, a young Pokémon Trainer


appeared out of nowhere.


Look, I'll show you.


He was a hero.


Huh? What? Uh, oh!


I know I put it in here! Where is it? Oh, no!


'Come on, it's got to be here somewhere!'


[chuckles]


Guess it's gone.


[IMPATIENT]

There it is! Guess I put it in that bag.

That's a really old book.


It's something I stumbled across


while I was researching this island.


Yes, here it is!


'This is the hero I was talking about.'

ALEXA A long, long time ago,


this peaceful island


was suddenly attacked by a group of Pokémon.


But then, a young man arrived from across the sea.


His name was Conley.


So in order to save the exhausted islanders


from further conflict


Conley skillfully led the group of attacking Pokémon


up to the very top of the mountain.


And when he and the Pokémon arrived there


he raised his hand toward the night sky


and a bright comet suddenly appeared and lit up the land.


The Pokémon were awestruck.


To them, it seemed as though Conley knew


of the comet's existence before it appeared.


The anger within the Pokémon subsided.


They became his friends


and peace was restored to the island.


Soon, trainers were traveling here


from all over the world to challenge Conley


and after word got around


he decided to stay on the island with the Pokémon.


You mean Trainers came here to battle him?


That's right.


ALEXA A b*ttlefield was constructed



on top of the mountain


and Conley fought many splendid battles there.


They say he never lost.


He never lost? That's amazing!


I sure wish I could have battled him, too.


The islanders proclaimed him their hero


'and a comet was named after him to memorialize'


'his remarkable accomplishments.'


And we'll actually be able to see the Conley Comet tonight.


I'm going to videotape


that group of Pokémon on the mountain for sure.

- Hear that? - Loud and clear.


Let them all blabber on about some hero


and his namesake comet.


All the better for us to catch Pikachu


while the Twerps are preoccupied.


Their teeny Twerp brains should make that a breeze.

that would knock the socks off of any Poké-star-studio star.

It doesn't look like any of the Pokémon


are up on the mountain yet.


We need to stay calm, and make sure we don't upset them.

'Right! It's the b*ttlefield ruin.'


It's so cool to think this is where Conley had his battles.


[IMPRESSED]

This ruin was probably the most important


location on the whole island.

were totally out to get us, weren't they?

It's possible those Gengar and Banette


are all here because of the celestial display.

So if that's true, there must be a reason they attacked us.

then that means they all must have the utmost reverence

and made friends with them

they realized we weren't their enemies, but their friends.
