We have two ten-year-old research fellows joining us for today's featured story.

And that's when we discovered that it was due to trouble in the area

where the Diglett used to live!

That's when… bam!

-We solved the problem! -Pikachu!

Truly amazing.

It seems we'll be hearing from research fellows Ash and Goh

for a long, long time to come!

My dream is to win lots of Pokémon World Coronation Battles!

Then go on to beat Leon, the current Monarch.

And then, I wanna become a Pokémon Master for real!

Sobble really loved to play hide-and-seek.

That just means we've gotta search everywhere!

Maybe Cinderace knows where it is!

Sobble has evolved into Drizzile.

We've been searching everywhere and still no Drizzile.

I sure hope that it didn't get hurt.

Since you weren't coming out, no matter how much I called,

I was worried you got hurt!

You evolved, and now, look, you're so much bigger!

I get it! Now that you're a Drizzile,

you're able to use Water g*n with your hands!

And the first step in doing that is leaving this cave.

-Yeah! Isn't it the coolest? -[Ash] Yeah!

[all mumbling]

-Over there! -Cinderace!

Please, Drizzile! Wait for me!

[panting]

[panting continues]

[breathing heavily]

-Drizzile! -Cinderace!

Huh.

[groans]

What? You mean Drizzile left the laboratory?

Uh-huh.

We brought it out of the cave it was in,

but then it just took off

with this really sad look on its face.

Oh, I see.

Please, Chrysa, could you put Drizzile's Pokédex entry onscreen?

Yes, sir.

[Chrysa] Drizzile. The Water Lizard Pokémon.

A Water-type.

Drizzile places traps around it so enemies can't sneak up.

It's very smart but doesn't like being forced to do anything.

Wow, it doesn't?

Aspects of a Pokémon's personality can change with Evolution.

Come to think of it.

It's like how you went from Scorbunny to Raboot

and then became Cinderace.

Cinder.

Now hold on!

When we brought Drizzile out,

Cinderace and I only made it do that for its own good!

Cinder.

Hey, Goh?

I do everything I can to cheer a Pokémon up when it feels down.

I'm always cheering them on!

I'm sure I would have done the same thing.

Huh.

It's possible the reason Drizzile

didn't wanna come out of its cave is that it had started nesting.

-Started nesting? -Why would it do that?

The only reason I can think of is it somehow started to get a bit nervous

and wanted to establish a place where it could relax a bit.

Or perhaps Drizzile was making preparations.

[all] Hmm.

Let me show you what I mean using Caterpie.

[Ren] When Caterpie evolves into Metapod,

it hides inside a hard cocoon.

I think that it's all in preparation to evolve into Butterfree

and soar through the open skies!

So you're saying that Drizzile was nesting in preparation

for the next step in its Evolution?

We can't really say for sure.

Is that how all Drizzile act,

or the way your Drizzile acts in particular?

But either way,

Metapod will have traits that only Metapod have.

Similarly, Drizzile will have traits that only Drizzile have!

As Pokémon researchers,

it's our job to discover those traits and reveal them to the world.

-[Cerise] It's what I live for. -Huh.

Overall, life's amazing.

[softly] Ah…

I'm gonna go search for Drizzile again!

-Cinder! -Wait for me!

[Chloe, Ash, and Goh panting]

I haven't found a thing so far.

It's gonna be even harder to find Drizzile

if it decided to become invisible.

But I was hoping that Yamper could sniff it out.

[Chloe] It seems to have lost the scent along the way.

Man, oh, man. It's already dinnertime.

when it was starting to nest.

But I also wondered why it ignored me.

things would be different now.

-What's wrong? -What's up, Goh?

[Goh] Back then,

When I was young…

Could Drizzile feel the same way, too?

I'm sorry that we dragged you out.

I just remembered something.

I didn't wanna play with my classmates anymore.

I was always alone, then my teacher asked me.

I can't help you unless you tell me.

[gasps]

The thing is, even I didn't know why I felt that way.

But my teacher just kept on asking me…

which made me… more upset.

[Goh] Mom and Dad were away on business most of the time.

And talking to my grandma was kind of tough.

[Goh] There was nothing more for me to do than look at the stars

and pass the time away.

I thought maybe you might have felt the same, Drizzile.

And when I came here…

I found you here, too! [soft chuckle]

And I'm thrilled!

You're just like me!

I've changed my thinking.

If I don't understand, then that's okay.

And I don't need immediate answers, either.

And so…

I'm fine if you just wanna be who you are!

Don't worry about me.

If it helps you to nest, just do it!
