NARRATOR: It has been a long, terrifying night at Collinwood.

Marked by the survival of a young woman,

and what appeared to be the self-destruction

of a bizarre and strangely silent man named Adam.

Almost all who witnessed his frightening jump

from Widow's Hill to the rocky shore below,

are convinced that he is dead and gone

carried off by the sea.

[WAVES CRASHING]

DR. LANG: Julia, when...

When you... When you do the experiment again,

if both Barnabas and my creation live,

if they both live,

Barnabas will be free and healthy

as long as Adam lives.

Adam will... will...

will drain Barnabas's affliction from him.

But will not suffer from the disease itself,

because he lives.

But if, if Adam dies,

[PANTING]

Barnabas Collins will be as he was before.

Get that light out of my eyes.

WILLIE: Oh, Barnabas, we're wasting our time.

We will continue searching, Willie.

Listen, now.

A man jumps off the cliffs up there,

he hasn't got a chance.

He's dead the second his body hits the rocks down here.

You know as well as I do that Adam isn't an ordinary man.

I don't care, I still say he's dead.

He's got to be dead.

No, Willie.

I'm going to continue searching the beach.
