NARRATOR:To save a dying David Collins in the present,

Barnabas has gone back into the past

and been trapped in his own coffin by Count Petofi,

who refuses to let him out

until he agrees to take him to the present.

To convince the unwilling Barnabas,

Petofi plans to use or destroy anyone he must.

And to begin his campaign of horror,

he has caused Jamison Collins to be possessed

by the dying David.

Jamison's going to die unless you save him.

I, Mr. Collins.

I know you can!

And besides, you owe it to him.

What an interesting and presumptuous idea.

Oh, why is it presumptuous?

He did your work for you when you were too weak

to look for the hand yourself.

Surely, you owe him something for that.

What I wanted, I took.

I owe the boy nothing.

And I apologize for thinking

there were any human feelings in your heart.

And you, Mr. Collins, are so very human.

I find that extraordinary.

to save the boy?

To be brutally frank, Mr. Collins, I don't know.

He's perfectly well.

He can do anything except get out of that coffin.

Because you have him locked in chains.

I think you'll find when you remove the chains,

he'll still be unable to move.

when you tell him that Jamison is dying.

that unconventional as it looks, this is a prison.

BARNABAS: He wants me to take him to the future

to my own time immediately.

Even to save Jamison's life?

Quentin, in my own time,

in the future, there are many terrible questions.

I came here to your time, because here,

someone, somewhere here, there are answers.

I haven't been able to find any of them,

at least not yet.

But you do know that they are more important

than Jamison's life.

There's nothing more important than Jamison's life.

If he dies, the Collins line in the future

will never have existed.

I know that and so does Petofi know that.

So in spite of his threats,

I'm sure that he's going to try to keep Jamison alive.

There's, there's only one hope.

And if he dies, the whole future of the Collins family

will not be existing.

Then a David Collins does exist in your time.

BARNABAS: Yes.

[ bell resonating ]
