You can do this.

You've been training for this all your life.

Just dig deep and give it all you got.

You got to bring your "A" game.

I'm talking %.

No guts, no glory.

Uh, guys, who's Hal talking to?

I don't see anyone.

Pretty weird.

Uh, Hal? You okay, buddy?

Oh, hi, Nature Cat.

I'm better than okay.

I'm pumped.

Today is Dustin's big day.

Who's Dustin?

My grasshopper friend, Dustin Hopman.

ALL: Aww.

Adorbs.

Dustin Hopman. Good to meet you, my man.

Dustin is about to compete in the great grasshopper race.

Oh, I've heard of that.

It's a race for grasshoppers,

to see who can jump to the finish line the fastest.

Oh, man. Grasshoppers are the best jumpers there are.

I know.

In fact, it says here that grasshoppers

can jump up to times their own length.

Whoa. Dude's got some serious hops.

That would be like jumping across a whole basketball court

in one jump.

What?

That's insane!

Well, Dustin is the superest jumper I've ever seen.

And he's going to prove it today in the big race.

Aren't you, Dustin?

(Laughing)

(Chirping)

That's what a winner sounds like.

Tah-dee!

Hey, we got to go to the race, you guys.

A fine idea. And we can cheer him on.

Yeah. We can be Team Dustin. It's like our "dustiny."

(Laughing): Get it?

ALL: Go, Dustin, go!

Go, Dustin, go!

Oh, Dustin loves it.

(Laughing)

Hey, maybe we should get to the race course early

so he can practice hopping.

And maybe we can practice cheering.

Yeah, let's go.

Onward and yonward.

ALL: Go, Dustin, go!

NATURE CAT: Ha-ha. So this is it.

The place where hopeful hopping happens.

Like my lovely alliteration?

Oh! I did it again. Yup.

In a little while, this will be all filled

with grasshopper racers.

And it will be Dustin's time to shine.

Oh, sweet. And I'll record the race on my phone.

Dustin sure looks excited.

Yeah. Look at him, man.

He can't wait for the race to start.

Oh, patience, Grasshopper.

Save it for the race.

Hmm, I think something may be bothering him.

Hey, what is it, Dustin?

Dustin?

Hey, the race course is over here.

Uh, where's he going?

I don't know.

Never fear. I'll get him.

Tallyho!

Where did you go? Dustin?

Dustin Hopman.

Dustin?

Where did he go? Where is he?

I don't know. I lost him.

Oh, man, hard to see a green grasshopper

when he hops into green grass.

Oh, I know that word. Cammo-whammo.

No, camomile.

No, camel breath.

Oh, boy.

It's camouflage, Hal.

That's what helped me win hide-and-seek.

Yes. That's a grasshopper's camouflage.

He's the same colour as the grass,

so predators can't find him.

But now we can't find him either.

Dustin Hopman!

Oh, where did you go?

ALL: Dustin!

Oh, Dustin Hopman! It's me, Hal.

Oh, it's no use.

Why would he leave right before the big race?

Why, I ask you, why?

I don't know, Hal,

but we need to figure out how we're going to find him

if we can't see him.

Hmm. Oh!

Hey, maybe we should just listen.

Right-o, Daisy.

We can listen for that sound Dustin makes.

But how are we going to hear that?

The only thing I can hear is the sound of leaves

going crunch, crunch, crunch.

Uh, look down, man. I think that's your feet.

You know, when you're out in nature,

sometimes it's best to just be still.

Hey. No more crunching. What do you know?

(Water trickling) Listen...

Oh. I'm hearing the sound of the water in that creek.

And I hear the buzzing of a pesky fly!

Shoo, fly. Don't bother me.

Hmm, and me thinks I detect the sound of the wind in the trees.

(Birds tweeting) (Wind gusting)

Yeah. And wow, listen to those birdies chirp.

(Both chirping)

See? There's so much you can hear out in nature.

Except I don't hear Dustin.

(Footsteps) Wait. What's that?

Sounds to me like something is jumping through the leaves.

SQUEEKS: Dustin!

Follow that sound!

The jumping sounds seems to be coming from over there.

I'm standing still.

Squirrel. Hey, have you seen a grasshopper?

He's about yea high, green, good jumper.

He is a gentleman.

(Squeaking and chirping)

Uh-huh. Uh-huh.

(Laughing): Okay, thanks.

Hey, how's Marge and little Kenneth?

Oh, good, good.

And Randy's back in college?

Oh, that's good to hear.

Whoa. Do you hear that?

Wow. I didn't know squirrels could sound like that.

Man, oh, man.

Oh, I've got to record it.

(Chirping continuous) Okay.

Well, tell them I say "hi", give them my best

and let me know if you see a grasshopper.

Got it. I can't wait to play it back later.

Yes, but we still need to find Dustin

and get him back in time for the race.

How are we going to find him now?

Let's try listening again.

(Bird chirping)

What's that?

A frog, perhaps?

(Rapid tapping)

Oh, that's a woodpecker.

(Bird chirping)

Whoa! What was that?

Oh, sweet.

A hummingbird.

Remarkable. Wow.

Fabuladocious.

I don't think that's a word.

(Rattling) What-ho.

Do you hear that? Dustin!

Yes, it's Dustin. I'd know his sound anywhere.

Dustin!

Don't move!

Stay right there, Dustin. We're on our way.

Stay put, little guy.

It sounds like we're getting closer-- Whoa!

Hi.

Oh, yeah. Mockingbirds are experts at listening to nature

and imitating what they hear.

All right, mockingbird,

let's hear some of your best imitations.

What do you got? Oh, sweet.

I've got to record this.

(Tweeting)

(Imitating rattling sound)

Wait a minute. That's the sound Dustin makes.

So it wasn't Dustin we were hearing.

It was the mockingbird.

Oh, that's a bummer. Oh!

It is pretty good, though.

But if this bird can imitate Dustin's sound,

well, that means it heard Dustin.

Oh! Do you know where my grasshopper friend is?

Can you take us to him?

Wait, wait, wait, wait!

I can't follow you up there.

Never fear.

I can keep up with that bird.

Tallyho.

(Screaming)

Eureka! We've found him.

Dustin! There you are.

Oh, I'm so glad we found you.

I was so sad, and now I am so happy.

Come on, we've got to get you back to the race.

It's about to start.

(Chirping)

Oh, it still seems like something's bothering him.

Yeah. Why does he keep making that sound?

Huh. It says here that male grasshoppers make that sound

to attract female grasshoppers.

ALL: Oh.

Hey, look, there's another grasshopper.

So I guess it worked.

Oh, Dustin was just looking for his friend this whole time.

Now she can come to the race and cheer him on.

ALL: Hooray!

Hmmm. The only problem is, I'm not sure where we are.

Or how to get back.

Oh, no, we're lost?

After all this?

But we've got to get Dustin back for the race.

There's got to be a way.

Well, maybe there is.

Listening.

Daisy, what are you talking about?

Well, the race course is right next to the creek,

so maybe if we can hear the sound of the creek,

it will lead us back to the race.

A brilliant idea, Daisy.

Let's all be still and listen.

(Water trickling) Can anyone hear

the sound of water?

Oh, wait. Do you hear what I hear?

I hear water. It's the creek!

Yes, yes. And it sounds like it's coming from over there.

Oh, sweet. Let's check it out.

Oh, there it is! The creek.

Ha-ha! Now if we just follow the water,

it should lead us right to...
