03x09 - Why Did You Have to Take Your Pants Off?

Post by bunniefuu »

Phil: Previously on "The Amazing Race"...

teams set out from the Bavarian Alps

in Germany and raced to Switzerland.

Some teams tried to throw Teri and Ian off course.

Oh, is that them right there?

That is them.Ian: Any luck?

Still looking.

[Chuckling] "Still looking"!

They found it. They just lied.

I love being deceitful.

Phil: John Vito and Jill faced off with all other teams.

There was only room for one boat at the dock.

And Jill held their boat there.

Our boat's gotta get in the slip.

Phil: And the couple moved to the head of the pack.

Flo revealed her feelings

about competing team member Drew.

She thinks he's very attractive.

Yeah.

Phil: John Vito had trouble staying on target

at the road block.

Jill: Don't get frustrated.

Phil: Some struggled in a sprint to the pit stop.

My pants are falling down.

This is more important

than your pants falling down.

Oh, you think so?Yeah, I think so.

Phil: It was a race to the final moment

between teams...

but Ken and Gerard finished fourth,

leaving John Vito and Jill in a precarious position.

The good news is this is the first

of three predetermined non-elimination legs,

so you're still in the race.

All teams remain.

Who will be eliminated in tonight's

special -hour episode of "The Amazing Race"?

Phil: The Alps.

, square miles of majestic mountains

stretching across European nations.

One of those nations is Switzerland.

Home to the Chalet Arnika,

the eighth pit stop

in a race around the world.

Teams arrived here at the end of the last leg

for a mandatory rest period.

The teams waiting here

have no idea what's in store for them.

They have to figure out for themselves

how to get to the next yellow and red route marker

by solving clues they will find in sealed envelopes.

Will the flirtation between Flo and Drew

grow into a more serious relationship?

And will John Vito and Jill, the only remaining team

who hasn't used their fast forward,

use it now to climb out of last place?

Derek and Drew,

who were the first to arrive at : PM,

will depart at : AM.

"The keys to your next adventure

"are here in Grindelwald,

deep inside the Gletscherschulcht."

Phil: Teams need to get to this nearby glacier gorge,

the Gletscherschulcht.

Once there, they will have to figure out

how to get to the bottom of this gorge

and find a key that opens one of these cars

in which they will get their next clue.

Hours of operation, : AM to : PM.

You have $ for this leg of the race.

Ok.

All right. Here. Why don't you count that?

, , ok. Yeah, let's go.

Come on.

Derek's married,

and I'm not dating anyone right now,

so it's definitely an advantage for me,

being single, because I don't mind flirting.

If there is some girl I'm interested in,

you never know where you are going to find love.

Let's get up to the top of this

and then we'll powwow with Zach and Flo.

"The keys to your next adventure

"are here in Grindelwald, deep inside the--

Gletscherschulcht."

Look at it. Let's go.

Zach is the greatest guy, but Drew--he's older.

He's a little bit more grounded and sure of himself.

That's attractive to me.

It's like, if there was interest on Drew's part,

I would certainly be interested.

Teri: Nobody has made any attempt to ally with us.

From the beginning, they thought that we were an easy target

and we would be easy to get out because we're older.

Ian: Their focus really is at this point,

try to get us out of the race

because they fear us.

It's been weeks that I haven't seen my family.

I have /-year-old twins.

I've really spent a lot of time

not trying to think about them,

because I think if I think about them,

it's just going to be awful.

Hours of operation : AM to : PM.

You have $ for this leg of the race.

, , .

Let's rock.

Let's go.

John Vito: Coming in last

was definitely a horrible experience.

It was scary enough that we don't want

to experience it again.

The game plan is not to come in last place again.

That's what our game plan is.

But we have a fast forward,

so we're going to wait to see

what the fast forward clue is.

"The keys to your next adventure are here in Grindelwald."

All right, well, look,

we have this little Grindelwald guide.

Good.

Look over there.

It's a restaurant.

Let's go inside, babe.

Jill: We're the first team here?

So we have to just sit around and wait until : AM.

Guys, we beat the other teams here.

How long are we gonna be here?

I need a little bit of help.

Do you know where--

what--Gletesch--get the flashlight.

What is this?

[speaking German]

Gerard: They must have went down to the city.

[no audio, music playing on soundtrack]

At least it's light out. Now we can see.

Flo: It looks like climbing into a glacier

to get the keys.

Tackle a glacier gorge, feet deep.

Let the adrenalin pump.

Drew: Yeah, that's it.

That's gotta be where we're going.

Is this some kind of line here?

What's this going on?

Yeah, we got here first, man.

Come on. Drew, go ahead.

Welcome to the Gletscherschulcht.

Flo: It's freezing.

Ian: I guess we're going in, get the keys, coming out.

Flo: Hop over!

Flo: The keys were standing there. We walked right past it.

We're following everyone like idiots.

Teri: Go get them.

Go, go, go.

Flo: Oh, look at this!

John Vito: Look, the clues are on the dash.

Flo: Get the clue, get the clue.

Drive yourselves to the red bridge

in the Val d'Anniviers...

Phil: Teams must now drive themselves miles

through the Swiss countryside

to the town of Kandersteg,

load their cars onto a train

that will speed them through the Alps,

and then they will need to find a place

called the Valais per adventure park

and look for this route marker

next to the red bridge.

While traveling, you must go to the Kandersteg

and take the car train through the Alps.

Go, Zach.

Just follow them out of here. Ok, go, go.

Where's the brake?Why aren't you driving?

All right, Gerard,

get your map skills going, baby.

Map skills are going, baby.

Clue is on the windshield.

Come on, we gotta go.

We're the last ones, playing catch-up.

Just start.

Jill: Do you want me to read the fast forward?

Yeah.

"Using the enclosed directions,

"drive yourself to the cheese maker near Sachseln

and eat your way to the fast forward award."

Phil: There is only one fast forward

on each leg of the race.

The first team that finds it

can skip all tasks and go directly to the pit stop.

In this fast forward,

teams have to find this traditional cheese-making cabin

in the Swiss countryside.

There, they will find this wheel of cheese

that has been sliced and cubed

and eat as many cubes as it takes

to completely reveal the fast forward award

hidden underneath.

Jill: What do you want to do?

Let's do the fast forward. What do you think?

Let's do it.

We figure better be safe than sorry.

We came in last the last leg.

It would've been terrible to get eliminated

and not have used our fast forward.

To find Kandersteg,

there is a car train there.

"You must go to the Kandersteg

and take the car train through the Alps"--Oh.

I'm thinking it should be up there to the right.

Is this--

No, no, no.

Isn't that the farm down there?

I hope it's good cheese.

What if it's smelly cheese?

What if it smells like feet?

Some cheese smells like feet.

Oh, here it is. There's our red and yellow.

Jill: Oh, my God. All these cows.

John Vito: Where do you think the cheese came from?

Oh, my God. I'm going to vomit.

Oh, it's slimy.

Ok, let's start in the middle.

Are you kidding me?

I can't eat all this cheese.

Get cracking.

Go ahead. Pick one.

Oh, my God. This is disgusting.

I can't eat all this cheese.

Worth a try.

I don't think we should be going

right next to each other.

We should bounce around.

Look how thick this cheese is.

Could we not think about it

and just do it, please?

I'm serious.

I think we should go catch up with everyone.

This is ridiculous.

Flo: Kandersteg.

I swear, it's not on here.

If you find it, I'll be embarrassed, but...

There it is-- Kandersteg.

Oh, yeah. This is huge.

We did it, we did it.

Huge.

Ask her what time the train is.

Hello.

Do you know the train is this way?

to :? Ok, thank you.

Next train, to :.

Use that fork, honey.

Oh, my God. This is disgusting.

I'm going to vomit.

We need to go on the train.

Thank you.

Teri: Oh, look. There's a car on the train.

francs, Teri.

Is that francs?

Yes, dear.

Hello. How much?

Just head south on this road, and that's it. We go to Niouc.

Ah, ah, I see a Mercedes.

So, what's at the red bridge?

Jumping.Jumping?

Bungee jumping?

Yes. Yes.

Pffoo, pffoo, pffoo.

Teri: Guess what. You know what's at the red bridge?

The bungee jumping.

Really?

Bungee at the red bridge, huh?

It's bungee jumping.

Now we have to worry about it.

Where is it?

I'll show you.

Is it in Switzerland?

Go tell Flo.

I'm going to tell her.

I just wanted to show you.

Zach, Flo?

Let her worry.

Flo, did you find out what we do at the red bridge yet?

It's bungee, baby.

Jill: Hurry up. We've gotta eat that.

If I vomit over this whole thing, do we still have to eat it?

Yes. Vomit that way.

Come on. We're wasting time.

I see the clue. We've got it.

We were just pot-lucking,

picking pieces from all over,

and luckily we picked one of the ones

that were right over the fast forward.

We got very lucky.

Do I have to eat this?

Mm-hmm, eat it.

I'm going to vomit.

Let's go.

That was delicious.

Phil: Having won the fast forward,

John Vito and Jill can now skip all tasks

and drive miles directly to Montreux,

then use a paddle boat to the get to the pit stop,

the steamship Savoie floating on Lake Geneva.

Steamship Savoie floating off

the Bassett Marina in Montreux.

And I saw Montreux on the map.

I just need to find it again.

Montreux, I found it.

That was easy.

When we got to the car train,

we were the first ones on it.

Zach: During the actual ride,

Flo hopped in the car behind us with Drew and Derek.

Flo: We're just innocently flirting.

A little romance makes long train rides go by quicker.

Just going to let the cards fall as they may.

It was a little strange to find yourself

sitting in the car alone.

Flo: Hey.

Hi.

There's only one road out of here?

Yeah.

Now we just have to find the red bridge.

"Drive yourselves to the red bridge

"in the Val d'Anniviers

near the town of Niouc."

So which way are we going here, Drew?

Poor twins have no idea where they're going.

Yes, they do.

Drew! I mean, come on!

Well, which way--

This thing's useless to me.

You have a compass disability and it's severe.

Yeah, there it is.

I saw a little red bridge spanning a very large gap.

Feeling severe-- severe anxiety.

Look at this.

This bridge is gonna be high.

Holy cow.

I was thinking to myself, like, am I really going to do this?

It was so high up, it was crazy.

Oh, I think I see the red bridge.

It's across this whole gorge. It's horrifying.

You're going the wrong way.

No, turn around again.

Maybe it's back further this way.

Which way should I go?

I don't know.

Is there a box? Look for a box.

Derek, come on, come on.

Zach!

Do you see it?

Did you get the clue, Flo?

Did you find anything?

No, no, no.Here it is!

Drew, get it, Drew, get it!

Drew, run!

Ow.

My God, Drew!

Get a clue, get a clue!

Oh, it's a detour.

Detour. Extreme Swiss or very Swiss.

Phil: A detour is a choice between tasks,

each with its own pros and cons.

In this detour, teams need to choose between

extreme Swiss and very Swiss.

In extreme Swiss, each team member

will have to walk onto this narrow bridge

and take the biggest bungee jump in Europe,

a -foot plunge into the gorge below.

The jump is likely to be terrifying.

But afterward, it's a quick drive to their next destination.

In very Swiss, teams have the less terrifying task

of driving another miles into the Alps to this farm.

Once there, they will search for one of a handful of keys

hidden in the traditional Swiss bells

around the necks of goats.

When they find a key,

they may use it to open one of these boxes

and retrieve their clue from inside.

Completing this task might take a long time.

Let's go bungee.

Bungee.

Let's do it.

Dude, I'm stoked.

I think I'm going to do the goats, guys.

Let's go get the goats. Come on.

Let's not waste time. I don't want to jump.

feet! Did you see that thing?

No way.

No, no way.

Are you going to bungee?

No. We're going to goat.

We're going to goat, too. Let's go.

Come on, guys.

Ken: Enjoy it. Don't die!

All right, Flo, we ain't doing it.

No bungee jumping!

Drew: Let's do it. Sweet!

Hopefully, we can get a lead.

This is crazy.

Take a look at this, please.

Ian: This is it.

They already did it?

[Ken chuckling]

They couldn't have jumped already.

Maybe they decided not to.

Come on.

Just wait a second.

It would have been awesome to jump off that thing.

Scary as hell but awesome.

Ken: I didn't go for the bungee jump

because I am a big fat wuss.

I don't want to die, I have children.

I don't want him to die either,

because he's got children.

All rightie. Here we go.

I'm Derek. I'm going first.

Ok, cool.

This is kind of cool, how high it is.

'cause the higher the better, almost, you know?

Ah, there it is. Come.

Come!

I'm coming! Relax.

We're way behind, if we're not going to do this.

You need to open this thing up so we can read it.

It's a detour.

Which do you want to do?

I say bells.

Ok.

I'm willing to jump if you'll do it.

Good. I was willing to skydive.

I'm not jumping.

Ok.

I thought I might be able to jump.

Fear changed my mind.

Ian: This will probably be our undoing.

We're a team. We stand together,

and what will be will be.

I'm very hard on Teri.

And at times, vice versa, she's hard on me,

and it works for us.

It works in the dynamics of our relationship.

Everything's ok now?

I mean, you're looking down,

and it's--I mean, that's the hardest part of the whole jump.

I was like, "I just got to do this so Drew will do it."

And I'm like, "Ok, just show no fear."

Whoa!

Holy...

[screaming]

Whoo!

Oh, yeah!

Oh, my God!

Whoo!

That was incredible.

I'm gonna do it.

Jump right off there.

Derek seemed to do it well, so, uh...

I'm sure everything's fine.

That's a long ways down.

Taking a right at the end of this road?

Flo: Turn right on the main paved road.

Then head up the mountain-- no, head up the mountain.

Right.

Pull in right here. Up right here.

Right here, right here.

Let me get out of here pretty quick.

I love goats.

Come on. Let's go.

Get a key from a goat. That's easy for me.

Me, too.

Zach: Here. This will be good.

Ken: How cute!

Flo: Hi, babies.

Let's not scare them.

Hurry up.

Just try to touch one.

Drew, we've got to get moving.

We've got to move on these people.

These things are on my feet all right, right?

I'm scared to death.

No, dude, don't worry about it.

Drew, it's unbelievable.

Just take a good dive. It's amazing. Yeah.

Derek: I'm saying all these positive things.

I'm like, "Oh, God. I hope he does it."

The recoil is not bad, it's awesome.

Just get it.

Is everything hooked up ok?

It was terrifying.

Am I really going to do this?

Oh, my God. I need some water so bad.

I'm scared to death.

Drew, it's unbelievable.

Just take a good dive. It's awesome.

Own it, Drew. Own it.

Just go swan, go swan and do...

[screaming]

Whoo!

Oh, God!

Oh, my God,

whoo!

Ok, I'm fine now.

Gerard.

I've got one, Gerard.

Ha ha ha!

Ken and Gerard.

Right here, "Ken and Gerard."

Oh, there's a cell phone here.

Zach: Hey, goat. Hey, goat.

I got one.

Flo: Go, go. Try it.

You got it?

Route information.

Oh, we got a cell phone!

"Drive yourself to the banks of Lake Geneva

"and find the route at the Chateau de Chillon.

"As you walk to your car,

use this T-Mobile phone to call your loved ones at home."

Oh, good!

Phil: Teams must drive themselves miles

to the banks of Lake Geneva

and find a well-known local building,

the Chateau de Chillon.

But before they get in their cars,

teams have the option to make one phone call

to their family and friends

back home on a T-Mobile phone.

They must complete the call

before heading to their next destination,

so the longer they stay on the phone,

the later they'll leave.

"Make your call, press the yes button twice,

and the phone will dial for you."

Finish it.

Gerard's crying. Ha ha ha!

"You may talk as long as you like,

but you must end the call before getting in your car."

Hello?

Hey, hon.

Oh, my God. I can't believe I'm actually talking to you.

I know. I miss you so much.

Are you surviving, baby?

I'm surviving.

I'm taking it day by day,

sometimes hour by hour.

How are the babies doing?

They're doing good.

They're doing very good.

So you're doing all right?

I can feel good about being here.

I can't tell you how much I miss you guys.

Yeah, yeah, we miss you, too.

Oh, my God. It's calling her house!

Hello?

Hello? Zachary.

What's going on?

Not much is going on, little guy.

We're just cheering you on.

Oh, yo, check it out,

I've got something really important to tell you.

Hurry up!

My credit card.

I didn't pay my credit card bill. So if you--

Don't worry. We paid your credit card bill.

Great. We've got to run.

I've got to pass the phone to Flo

so she can say hi to Lindsay.

Zach, I love you.I love you, too.

Go for the gold, little brother.

Love you. Bye-bye.

Hi!

Hi, hi, hi!

How are you?

It's so amazing.

Tell my mom that you spoke to me

and that everything is great and that it's amazing.

Hey, kids.

You get to call home.

Oh, really, that's what this is?

Oh, my God.

Do this quick.

When we got to the goats,

she realized, "Oh, wow!

"I've got to complete this task,

I get to talk to my kids,"

boom, she was up the mountain.

Come on.

You start there.

Ok. I love you.

Flo! Talk all day, Flo.

Flo, take your time, honey.

I love you, I love you. Thank you so much for doing this.

I love you! Ok, bye.

Whoo!

Drew: How was it?

Derek: That was pretty amazing.

That was actually really cool.

I'm so glad it's over.

The bungee jumping was a perfect instance

of Derek being the big brother in the situation.

He just had to pave the way, be the guinea pig

to make sure it was safe for me, basically.

That was cool.

"Drive yourselves to the banks of Lake Geneva

"and find the route marker at the Chateau de Chillon.

"As you walk to your car,

use this T-Mobile phone to call your loved ones at home."

Hello?

Derek: Oh, my God. It's me, honey.

Honey? Derek!

Derek: Oh, my God. I miss you so much, baby.

Oh, I miss you too, honey.

I'm a newlywed,

and it's only been for a couple months.

We're just practically back from our honeymoon.

It's very difficult to go from

that kind of companionship to nothing.

How are you doing? Is everything good?

No, it's really good, baby.

I cannot wait to see you again, honey.

I miss you so much, it's awful.

I know, I know.

Drew, do you want to say hi to mom real quick?

Hey, Mom.

Oh, how're you doing? You sound out of breath.

How you doing? Doing great, doing well.

I just want to tell you I love you very much--

Ok, I love you, Mom.

And you can do it. You can do it, dear.

Ok, so I need to go.

Ok, bye.

Ok, bye-bye.

Bye-bye, now. Aw!

Now we've got to get to Lake Geneva.

Well, there's Chillon. Ok, cool, cool, cool.

Do you know where it is?

Yep, yep. I know exactly where it is.

Fantastic.

It was just amazing to be able to speak with my wife.

Oh, she sounded very good.

God, I miss them.

I never said "I love you" to my sister more times.

I know. I never said "I love you" to Lindsay more times.

"I love you, I love you."

I'm the happiest girl in the whole world right now.

Things are really looking up.

Zach, I'm so happy.

Teri: Nicely.

Walk slowly.

They're coming your way.

Keep them here, we can get one of them.

We're not doing too good here.

Nope.

Baaahhh.

Yes! Let's go.

You got a key?

I got one.

"As you walk to your car,

"use the T-phone to call loved ones--

loved ones at home."

Come on.

Please be home.

Woman: Hello?

Phyllis! Yes?

It's me--Teri. How are the boys?

Are you ok?

Are you ok?

Teri: We're fine.

Ok, hold on, say hello to Brandon.

Brandon: Hello?

Hi, Brandon!

Hi, Mom.

I love you so much, Brandon. I miss you!

Hold on for Daddy. I love you.

Hey, dude!

Hey, Dad.

We're still in the race.

Give me, give me, give me.

Hold on for Mom.

I love you.

We have to run.

Come on.

We're behind. I love you. Bye.

Let's go!

Where do we have to go?

Lake Geneva and find the route marker at Chateau de Chillon.

My babies. Oh, God.

It was great talking to them.

They're good kids, and I'm real proud of them,

and I'm sure they're real proud of us.

Jill: A little lipstick and a smile.

I like to look pretty for Phil.

You never know what it might get me.

The fast forward said we won the award

and to head to the steamship Savoie

which is where we are now, our next pit stop.

We should go to the marked pedal boats.

Just take one?

Jill: Oh, my God. This is incredible.

Whew, I'm tired.

Me, too.

Welcome aboard.

Thank you.Thank you.

Last to first. Let me hear it, Phil. Come on.

John Vito and Jill...

you're team number one.

Whoo!

Finally, all right.

It's about time.

I've got some good news for you.

As the winners of this ninth leg of the race,

you have won a -day Caribbean vacation...

Whoo! Aah!

On Royal Caribbean's Explorer of the Seas.

Whoo!

And you can enjoy that after the race.

Yeah, there it is. See it?Yes.

Chateau de Chillon.

We're the first ones here.

Road block.

Phil: A road block is a task that only one person may perform.

In this road block,

that person has to assemble

a Swiss Army bicycle from a pile of parts.

They will have an identical bike to use as reference.

Once an expert has confirmed

that the bike has been assembled correctly,

teams will be able to ride their bikes to the next destination.

The person should be a nuts-and-bolts kind of person.

That's fine. You do it.

That's me.

Ok, let's see, here.

Let's see here.

You're doing good, Gerard.

I'm trying, Ken.

I just don't want to disappoint you, Ken.

It's like Christmas Eve at home.

Have to put the toys together, for God's sakes.

"The person should be a nuts-and-bolts kind of person."

Are you better at that?

No, nuts and bolts?

Ok, I'll do it. Let's put together a bike.

Good?

Not safe. What else is there?

Oh, the chain.

Oh, my Lord. This does not look fun.

Perfect, Gerard.

Muy perfecto.

It's perfect.

That's no good, huh?

He's telling me this is no good.

Flo: Now we're here.

Now we're in Chailey.

I think we should ask.

Quick. Quick, quick.

Chateau de Chillon.

Oh, merci beaucoup.Merci.

Ok, hurry up.

Get this information and get the hell out of here.

You got it?

Chateau de Chillon.

Just take me there.

Good?

Drew, center the...handle.

Don't tighten it.

You've got to get it centered.

Safe. Good.

Safe.

Perfect.

What do you mean, unsafe? This guy's tough.

Drew, you can tighten these parts right there.

How's that?

That's good.

Thank you.

Route info.

"Now that you've got working bikes,

"pedal to the next pit stop, the steamship Savoie,

floating off the Bassett marina."

Phil: Teams must use their bicycles

to ride miles through this busy lakeside town

to the Bassett marina.

When they arrive, they will have to abandon their bikes,

grab one of these boats

and pedal to the steamship Savoie.

This ship, floating in Lake Geneva,

the largest lake in Western Europe,

is the pit stop for this leg of the race.

We're looking for the Bassett marina.

I think it's gotta be down by the water.

"The person should be a nuts-and-bolts kind of person."

You.

Come on! What is wrong with this?

How was the jump?

Fantastic.

Drew, do it with your fingers

like you did the other one.

This is not good. This one doesn't fit.

Bassett?

Oh, Bassett? [speaking French]

Ken: Ok, good. Thank you.

Does it go the other way?

Drew, try everything.

Ok, we've got a sign coming up.

Chateau de Chillon. Straight ahead.

We need to be hustling today.

We're last.

Road block.

"That person should be nuts and bolts."

[sighs]

Ok. Fine.

Safe. Let's go.

"The steamship Savoie floating off

the Bassett marina in Montreux."

Montreux is that way.

The steamship Savoie.

Do you know where the steamship Savoie is?

It's that way, right?

Marina in Montreux?

Thank you very much.

Flo: Have you ever done anything like this before?

Are you kidding me?

You love to build stuff.

Once or twice, I've put a bike together.

Once or twice.

I know you can do this.

Watch the car, watch the car.

There's the flag!

There we go.

There it is, Gerard!

Whoo!

He's having trouble with the brakes.

That's the problem.

In the front.

Hey. Hello!

Ah.

Hey, Phil, where are you?

Phil!

Safe.

Don't even try it, Phil.

Don't try it with the faces.

We know what you're thinking.

Come on. Do your shtick. Let's go.

What you need to do. Do what you need to do.

Let's go. Come on.Bring it on, Phil.

Come on, baby. Bring it on.

Ken and Gerard--

Yay! Finally!

You're team number .

Whoo!

Right overboard!

Nice and tight now.

Zach's feeling a little pressure.

"Pedal yourself to the steamship Savoie."

There it is.

Oh, here we are right now.

Coming through, coming through.

Find out where we need to go,

how to get there, dear.

Not safe?

How is it not safe? The brake doesn't work?

Derek and Drew...

you're team number .

Whoo-hoo!

Ian: Coming by. Beep, beep, beep.

Yeah?

Thank you.

"Pedal yourselves to the next pit stop,

"the steamship Savoie, floating off

the Bassett marina in Montreux."

Let's go. Zach!

Flo: The bike's complete. We're last,

and he decides he wants to unzip his pants,

take off the pants and make them into shorts.

We could get in front of Teri and Ian at this point.

Merci.

We have to find the steamship Savoie.

Zach: Flo?

I think it's the other way.

Teri! Are you ok?

You've gotta get up. You've gotta get up.

Flo: The marina we're going to.

The marina?

You've gotta get up.

Are you ok?

You messed up here. Ah, Teri.

I fell off on purpose.

Let's go.

Turn it this way. Now.

It's fixed.

Teri, let's go.

Come on.

That's it. That's the Savoie.

Got to be a flag here somewhere to get to it.

Flo?

This is so stupid!

If we're done, we're done,

but let's push it while we can.

Ah, ah!

I got it.

Come on, Teri.

Let's do it.

I don't see the boat.

I don't see the boat anywhere.

[crying] The boat's over there, probably.

Oh, yeah, that's it. Let's go.

Come on, come on.

Come on, Flo. We can still do it.

Come on, Teri.

It's over anyway.

There is no way we can catch up to them.

How not?

We're stronger than them.

We caught them on the bikes.

Come on.

What?

We can make it.

That's Ian and Teri.

They're still paddling. Come on.

Go on. Go get the boat.

You've gotta get in it.

We're losing anyway,

so I might as well walk.

My legs have had it.

Look behind. Are they coming on us?

Come on, come on.

Zach: Let's go, let's go. We need to move.

We lost, Zach.

I'm not going to get myself exhausted over it.

[chuckles]

It's humiliating.

We got beaten out by , like, retired people.

We're coming, Phil.

Hey, hey.

Step on the ladder. Step onto the ladder.

Go!

Up the stairs.

How do you know?

Up the stairs.

How do you know?

Because I'm smart.

Teri and Ian,

you're team number .

You're still in the race.

That's great. Thanks again.

It pays to have kids,

putting together bicycles.

Zach: Try to the end,

that's the best way to go out if we're going out.

Why did you have to take your pants off?

They would have gotten caught in the gears.

Why didn't you pull them up?

Welcome to Montreux, Switzerland.

Thanks.

Phil: Flo and Zach...

you're the last team to arrive.

The good news is, this is not elimination.

This is the second of predetermined non-elimination points

and you are still in the race.

I told you it would be all right.

I was so sad.

I was disappointed.

We had a really tough time with the bike.

What I did wrong was that I just gave up.

So Zach stayed positive.

So positive, so positive!

I hate him for being so positive.

It makes me look bad.

I'm so...

so lucky to have Zach here.

I just gave up and I'm not proud of it, but Zach--

he still smiled and pedaled the stupid boat

and he kept it together and I couldn't.

He's a good guy.

That's why we're such a good team.

That's why we're doing it. That's why we're going on.

I love this boy. He's so smart.

Phil: The teams now enjoy a brief rest,

but as the steamship sails to Lucerne, Switzerland,

the next elimination leg of the race

is about to begin.

After using the last fast forward,

can John Vito and Jill maintain their lead?

Will Drew and Flo's budding relationship

cause a rift within their own teams?

And which one of the remaining teams

will be eliminated next?

"The Amazing Race" continues in just a few minutes.

Phil: John Vito and Jill were first

at the pit stop at : PM

and will depart at : AM.

"Make your way to the base of the Jet d'Eau."

Phil: Teams must now travel over miles to Geneva

and find the largest fountain in Europe--

the -foot tall Jet d'Eau,

to get their next clue.

Let's go.

Jill: This race is unbelievable.

It's just stressful trying to stay in the front

and trying to always guess right,

and make the right decision.

John Vito: Other teams get on each other's nerves,

but we're great working together,

and we have no problem spending all this time with each other.

You know what? Let's just get a taxi.

We can ask a taxi.

Yeah, let's go.

Right there.

We're looking for this Jet d'Eau.

Can you take us to Geneva?

"Make your way to the base of the Jet d'Eau."

Gerard: We didn't think we'd make it this far...

Ken: We had no clue we would make it this far.

We're old and we're not in the best of shape.

We're going to blow them out of the water.

Ken: We gotta find that.

We gotta go get a cab.

Let's see if this man knows.

Hey, can you take us?

Driver: Yeah, sure.

All right, here we go.

The Jet d'Eau.

Drew: Ken and Gerard kind of helped us out in the beginning.

But now we're on our own.

This has been perfect for me and my brother

to spend so much time together.

This race has revitalized each of us.

Do you speak English?

The Jet d'Eau.

John Vito: Gotta be it.

"Get yourselves to the route marker

"in front of Petronas Towers

in the country represented by the enclosed flag."

Phil: Teams must now figure out

that the flag they are holding

represents the country of Malaysia.

Once they do that,

they will have to fly more than , miles

to the city of Kuala Lumpur

and make their way to the Petronas towers--

the tallest buildings in Asia.

Geneva airport.

Let's find out what country this is.

Look at that.

Yeah, that's beautiful.

Jet d'Eau.

How do we get out there. Do you know?

Jet d'Eau, whoo!

That looks like Gerard when he gets mad. Whoosh.

Here we go. Right here. We'll read the clue.

"Take yourselves to the route marker

"in front of the Petronas tower

and the country represented by the enclosed flag."

What do you think? What the heck is that?

Jill: I hope we're not the only ones

that don't know what this flag is.

I hope all the other teams don't know it.

Do you know which flag that is?

Ah, very good.

We got Malaysia.

Ok. Go to the airport.

I forgot. Today is our birthday.

Oh, yeah.

I totally forgot.

It's going to be a good day.

Looks like Old Faithful or something up here.

This one.

What country is this?

Do you know what country this is?

What country here?

Yeah.

No, you don't know?

It's closed.

Closed.

Do you know where this is from?

You're going to Malaysia.

Ok, cool. You want to head to the airport?

Let's get to the airport. Come on.

Jill: Do you know if there is, like,

a hotel we can go check out, maybe, nearby?

You walk up there and then to your left.

"Make your way to the base of the Jet d'Eau."

Gotta go to the Jet d'Eau.

Shh!

Don't shush me.

Ian: Nobody is a pushover in this relationship.

Come on, girl!

I don't think that I'm the only motivator.

Teri motivates me a lot, too.

We're going to come in first.

"Make your way to the base of the Jet d'Eau."

The Jet d'Eau.

That means jet of water, ok?

We are very close behind Teri and Ian.

Zach: Not a good feeling at all

to be in last place for the first time during the race.

We have to get a cab.

I need to go to here.

Jet d'Eau.

Do you know a Jet d'Eau?

Do you think you could call a taxi for us?

We're taking a cab to Geneva?

How else do you suggest getting there?

Train.

We're almost dead.

Zach is incredibly concerned about money.

He's being so cheap.

I'm scared it will cost us the race.

Ian: I've said this in the past.

They underestimated us.

We're a team to be reckoned with.

I tend to forget about Teri and Ian.

Flo: I'm sure they haven't figured out

where the hell they're going.

Ok, that jet, the jet water. Ok, I got it.

Wow.

"Get yourselves to the route marker

"in front of the Petronas Towers

in the country represented by the enclosed flag."

Really need to figure out what country this flag is.

We want to go to this country.

Ian: What flag is that? That's Malaysia, yes?

Malaysia.

"Get yourselves to the route marker

in front of the Petronas towers."

Ah!

As soon as it said Petronas towers

we didn't even have to look at the flag

because we knew Petronas towers were in Kuala Lumpur.

So we look at the clue, we immediately know

we need to book a flight to Kuala Lumpur.

Sir, do you know what country that flag represents?

We need to fly to that country.

Thank you very much.

The airport doesn't open until : AM

and it's : AM now.

At least we accomplished something.

Yes, we did.

So wait. Let me see.

Can we get in?

Doesn't look like there is much action.

Doesn't look like you can even get in here right now.

Is there one entrance? Singapore airline?

It looks closed.

Yeah, it sure does.

Want to get off at this exit?

[laughs]

Have you seen any of the other teams?

No.

Merci.

Oh, there you go.

There's John Vito and Jill. Where?

Air France. Left.

Hello. I know it says you are closed but--

ah, now it says you are open.

We're in serious trouble. We need your help.

We need to get to Kuala Lumpur.

Swissair had to do some manipulating to get us

because a lot of the flights were full,

but they were able to get us on.

Full up on that?

We soon realized

there are not a lot of flights to Kuala Lumpur.

Ian: We think we're in pretty good shape.

We're not sure yet.

Off to Kuala Lumpur.

[speaking French]

Can you try to put us in the front of the plane?

Thank you very much.

Derek: Get seat assignments for Kuala Lumpur.

The same place that they're-- the same place.

We would like to book seats if we could for that.

Drew: We decided to help out Flo and Zach.

So we want to keep them all together.

I don't want--

I don't want to see her cry.

Drew: I never in a million years thought I would

actually ever be attracted to any of the girls on the race,

but I really like Flo.

Flo: I think Drew is a really nice guy.

I think he's really smart

and I think he's really funny.

Thank you for your help.

Our flight's really good.

John Vito and Jill are right there,

so they're on this as well,

so I think the only ones that aren't going to be in the group

are going to be Ian and Teri.

Ian: We're hoping that we're numero uno,

but we'll find out when we get to the towers.

We have to get a cab.

Bonjour.

They sat next to each other the whole plane ride,

from Paris to Kuala Lumpur,

so it's the of them,

and then one seat, and then me.

That felt a little bit strange

just 'cause there was some kind of symbolic distance

between me and my partner

and another man moving in.

We're here to take a cab to the Petronas towers.

You gotta take the train.

Zach: Teri and Ian is the question mark right now.

Flo: We hope they're far behind.

[clue envelope opens]

Teri: "These are the tallest buildings in Asia,

"so use one of the Kodak Easy Share digital cameras

"to get a picture of yourselves

in front of the buildings."

Phil: Teams must find a local to take pictures of them

in front of the Petronas towers

with the Kodak Easy Share digital cameras.

Then they must walk a mile

through the streets of Kuala Lumpur

to the Ampang park shopping center,

where they will develop their pictures

and find their next clue.

Take picture.

Excuse me. Can I get you to come take my picture?

Will you take a picture for me?

Come on. I'm in a hurry. Please.

Both buildings.

Where do we gotta go?

"Then go to the Ampang shopping park."

Hello.

Where is Ampang park?

Far?

Ok, we just gotta be cool here, now. We've got a lead.

Is this Ampang?

Which way is Ampang?

I can't hear you.

Ampang Park.

On the left.

On the left. Thank you.

Flo: Come on.

Flo: I love it when you start to run like a little rat.

Ken: There they are, right here.

There are the Petronas towers.

Jill: That's a flag. John Vito, John Vito, John Vito!

Jill: I looked to the right,

and I saw the flags across the street,

I was going "John Vito, John Vito."

Flo: Go, Z! Go!

Zach heard me. He started running.

Go, Z.

John Vito: I got it right here.

"These are the tallest buildings in Asia, so use--

"use one of the Kodak Easy Share digital cameras

to get a picture of yourselves--"

"in front of the building,

then go to the Kodak Picture Maker."

Ampang shopping park.

Ok, thank you. We'll try somebody else.

Teri, we've got to be in a little more

of a hurry here, please.

Let's jog.

Why?

We don't know where they are. We gotta race.

We have to race.

This is crazy.

No, don't shut down on me now.

Can you take a picture of us?

Can you take a picture?

Thank you.

Can you take a picture of us

in front of the building?

All right. Thank you very much.

Us and the towers.

Both buildings.

Come.

I'm here, and I don't need this from you.

Do you know where the Ampang--

Vito, Vito!

Zach, let's go.

Ampang shopping center?

Ian: Straight ahead. See the opening there?

Yes.Where are you going?

You don't think it's this, too?

I think it says Ampang Park here.

That's where we want to go.

Ampang Park shopping center?

Is that this way?

Ampang Park?

Close? Close? Close?

Run, run, run. Come on!

Ampang Park right in front of you. Look.

This is the Ampang Park train station.

Wrong place.

We need to get to the Ampang Park shopping center.

Ian: We're in serious trouble.

Teri: This is a train station.

Wrong place.

Let's go back upstairs, then.

Maybe we want to look at this thing here.

This is Ampang Park shopping center?

Where is the photo mat?

Inside?

I thought you told me it was a photo mat.

It's a Quick Foto.

Ok, come on. I see it.

Quick Foto.

Hello.

"Touch the screen to begin.

Make prints from digital sources."

Machine: Insert your digital camera's card.

And now what?

Insert it.

Teri: I think our strengths are our balanced relationship--

I'm the brains, he's the brawn.

It will fit only one way.

Just print it, Teri.

We're in it,

and both buildings are in it.

Ah. "Take the train to Singapore

"and find Margaret Thatcher

in the National Orchid Garden."

Phil: Teams must travel more than miles by train to Singapore.

When they arrive, they will have to make their way

to the National Orchid Garden.

Once there, teams will need to figure out

that Margaret Thatcher is an orchid

in order to get their next clue.

Thank you very much.

Let's grab a cab to the train station.

Let's move it now.

Good job.

Zach: There are John and Jill.

Where?They're right down there.

Jill: Quick Foto? Photo maker?

It's right here. Sweet.

Jill: Ok.

Was there another team here?

Older people? A little older?

Yeah.

Jill: Teri and Ian.

How is that possible?

I don't know.

Tell them I want to go to the train station,

Central train station.

Central train station.

Could you tell him for us?

He doesn't understand what we're saying.

"Take the train to Singapore."

Open the trunk.

We're on our way to the train station

in Kuala Lumpur to go to Singapore.

KL Central train station?

KL Central. Thank you.

Can you go very quickly?

Zach: Ah, there!

There are the beautiful towers.

All right. Let's go. The clue's on the back.

Taxi!

Hi. Um, Central station.

Ian: Is this the train station?

This is the train station.

Singapore?

I want to go to Singapore.

Get back in.

This is not it.

Here.

"Take the train to Singapore."

Shut up, Derek.

"Take the train to Singapore."

Derek! You're an idiot.

Come on, come on.

I heard them say, "Train station."

Cool.

"Take the train to Singapore."

Ian: Ok.

Ok, let's go.

I don't know if we're the first ones here.

We're hoping we're the first ones here.

Flo: It seems that Teri and Ian

have arrived in Kuala Lumpur before us,

which I just don't understand.

I need to go to Singapore.

Right now.As soon as possible.

Ok.

We're concerned about other teams

catching us by :, when the train leaves.

We'll just have to live with it and see what happens.

So far we have been lucky.

Thank you.

All right. Let's go.

Train to Singa--tickets?

One? Where is that?

Flo: How are you?

Did you see anybody else?

Yeah, we're all here now.

So all the teams are here? Yeah.

Teri? They're all here.

What?

They're all here.

All of them?All of them.

The race is on.

Well, so much for being lucky.

I was shocked to see Ian and Teri at the train station

but it was also a good feeling

because we knew we had caught the front.

It's annoying.

Can I buy tickets to Singapore here?

Teri and Ian,

they're like, "Every team is here?"

They're so pissed.

Jill: That's so funny.

What can I tell you?

John Vito: Ok, and where do we catch the train?

Tickets to Singapore. The next train.

When is the next one? :?

:.

We're all going to get on the same train to Singapore.

We're going to kick some butt on this leg,

and we're not being eliminated this round.

The strategy at this point is really

just to kind of stick with the pack

and stay somewhere in the middle,

and then beat everyone

at a sprint to the finish.

Flo: I think Drew's a really nice guy.

It sounds so silly to say out loud,

you know? I just--

I have a really good time with him.

Drew: I really like Flo, and we get along really well.

It just happens to be during this race,

which isn't the best timing, of course.

I have loyalties to my brother

and I know my brother has not got

a lot of patience with me with Flo.

It's going to start getting ruthless.

This is a race, so we've got to do

what we've got to do to win.

It's a tough game.

National Orchid Garden.

Whoo-hoo!

Very warm.

Oh, yeah. Going to be nice and humid.

Our next route marker doesn't open

until tomorrow morning at, what?

: AM at the National Orchid Garden.

So we're going to have to get

someplace to stay for the night.

He's getting a cab driver, right? Yeah.

Jill: There's a taxi.

Do you know how much hotels cost around here?

The YMCA rents rooms?Yeah.

Flo: I got upset that Zach recommended the YMCA,

because I hadn't slept in days,

hadn't showered in days.

I want to stay at a normal hotel.

Flo, we're gonna investigate the YMCA.

If it's not a nice place, we won't stay there.

We'll only stay in a nice place.

Why does he get to make all the decisions, you know?

I just would like to be consulted.

Drew. We need Drew.

Come on. We need more options here, ok.

We stayed in a hotel nearby.

I can have this?

Thank you very much.

We got a tip from a European couple

that stayed at a reasonable hotel

and gave me their map of Singapore to help me,

and right now I'm looking for the National Botanical Gardens.

There are the orchid gardens.

Drew: Yes, do you have any rooms available for tonight?

Oh, good. Great.

Zach: Derek just found some rooms,

so we're going to split one room.

Flo will be happy because it will be a nice place,

it's pretty cheap,

it's very close to the orchids tomorrow.

Let's go, let's go.

Do you have rooms available tonight?

Tonight?

Derek: We have beds, so everything's cool.

We're just wondering who is going to be sleeping in what bed.

I might be sleeping with Zach tonight.

Ok, my friend.

One big bed.

One big bed and one hot shower.

Flo: The happiest girl in the whole world right now.

Oh, I hope they have availability.

I hope it's cheap.

Is the A.C. on?No.

See if it works. How do you reach it?

Our strategy really hasn't changed.

Save your money.

Saving your money is very important.

I really don't care if there is no TV.

The TV doesn't work anyway.

Flo: If I could pick the arrangement,

maybe it would have been Drew and I in our own room.

I would never, ever in a million years

want it to be me and Drew in one bed

and Zach and Derek in the other bed.

Derek: We're heading out.

Hopefully we find this place.

Someone will probably be eliminated today.

Not us.

Right now we're headed to the National Orchid Gardens.

I've never gotten coffee like that.

That's cute.

We're going to the botanical gardens.

We have to go find Margaret Thatcher.

Oh, we have to find that.

It's closed until :.

Is there a flower for Margaret?

Flower for Margaret Thatcher?

The orchid garden?Yes.

Thanks.Beautiful.

Oh, there's Zach and everybody else.

Of course. Can't get in until :.

I think we're going to the V.I.P. orchid gardens.

We have to go here, we need to go here.

Everyone has found this place,

and we're just gonna wait for it to open.

An orchid named after Margaret Thatcher.

It's the Margaret Thatcher orchid.

All teams are sitting there waiting.

No one was really talking anymore.

So it was very stressful.

It's going to be a mad dash through this huge garden.

It's going to get pretty heated here.

To the right.

Flo: Go! Run, Zach.

Drew, come on. Drew, go, go, go.

Here. Go to the right.

Is that the Margaret Thatcher?

Detour. Dry or wet.

Phil: A detour is a choice between tasks,

each with its own pros and cons.

In this detour, teams need to choose between dry and wet.

In dry, teams choose a car

and drive themselves to these apartments

to find Singapore's number one television star,

Phua Chu Kang, who will give them their clue.

Sound easy? Think again.

All the roads in the zone

are named Choa Chu Kang.

Once teams find the correct building,

they will discover that the elevators here

don't stop on consecutive floors,

and apartment numbers flop from wing to wing.

In wet, teams have to choose a car and drive themselves

to the Singapore Zoo to search for mermaids.

What they have to figure out

is that the mermaids they are searching for

are manatees, underwater animals whose rounded shape

inspired sailors to invent the legend of the mermaids.

Once they find the manatees

deep inside the zoo,

teams must put on goggles and wet suits

and swim across the enclosure

to get their next clue.

"Dry or wet--swim to your next clue."

"Drive yourselves to block

at the housing development known as Choa Chu Kang central."

Come on, Teri!

Teri: I'm here!

"Get yourselves to block

of the housing development known as Choa Chu Kang central."

You've gonna have to drive.

We've got to find a car, though.

Jill: What are we doing, sweetie?

Let's do dry. Do you want to do dry? Ok.

Teri: Which are we going to do?

I think we should do the swim.

Ok.

Where is the zoological from here?

Derek: Drew, come on!

Come with me.

Now is the time to move.

Choa Chu Kang, central.

Do you see that there?

Ok, give me the map.

I have to drive on the left side of the road

for God's sakes.

That's right. Be careful.

Ok, where is the apartment blocks?

I'm looking, I'm looking.

Oh, here it is. Someone is following us.

I have no idea which way to go.

Follow them. Do you think?

Flo: Sure. Who is that?

It's Ken and Gerard.

We're just following Ken and Gerard

because we couldn't find anything on the map.

We have no idea where we're going.

I might try to shake them if I can.

Are they trying to lose us?

I can't imagine they're too pleased with us.

They're probably trying to take us the wrong way.

I have no idea where we are,

I have no idea where we're going.

A left?

Yeah, yeah, take a left.

What are we doing?

We're looking for the zoo. Yeah, yeah.

We gotta look for signs. To the zoological center.

Be careful driving on the wrong side, baby.

All right, we need to ask someone

how to get to Choa Chu Kang central.

Choa Chu Kang central?

It's far?

How far is it?

Let me see the map.

I want to take this road?

What lane is--the airport or go straight?

[indistinct] Road?

No. We want to get on the expressway. Is this the expressway?

This is it. What are you talking about?

Ok, good. This is fine, then.

D.K.E. to the left.

I'm going to stay with it, ok?

Yeah, I guess so.

I hate when you say you guess so.

But I don't know for sure.

Do you want me to say for sure?

I can't remember minutes of directions

when I'm rushing here in a high stress situation.

Where we going?

Apartment blocks here. It's got to be it.

Zach, I don't know if these are the buildings.

It's not on the ave.

This is Choa Chu Kang Avenue--

No, this is wrong.

These are on the avenue.

We're looking for the ones on the way.

I think it's all the same.

Oh, Choa Chu Kang Way.

Gerard: Once there, we have to search

"the intricately designed building

"for unit -.

"When you find it, knock on the door

"and receive your next clue

from Singapore television star Phua Chu Kang."

We're going to block number .

There's .

Park in this little spot right here, Z.

Ok, let's go.

Zach: Here's .

Let's do it.

Why don't you follow us, you guys?

Sorry, you guys. We did a bad--

that's all right.

Weren't we just on that road?

Jill: We should ask someone, sweetie.

Oh, look, there's a gas station up here.

We'll pull into the gas station, ok?

All right, you go ask.

I need to get here.

Choa Chu Kang apartment complex.

Totally wrong way.

All right. What do we do?

Go right.

...Tima Road.

We've got the twins ahead of us.

This should be a long way away according to the map, right?

Get an indication of how far we're going.

Drew, get an indication of how far it is.

Look on the map and determine how far it is.

I'm sick of this.

Want me to go left on D.K.E. Woodlands?

Who's that?

That's Teri and Ian.

No, that's Teri and Ian?

Ian and Teri passed us.

It says the zoo is left.

Do it.

Follow them. Take a left, take a left.

The other team's still behind me.

Zoo, right.

This is it. To the right. To the right.

So which part of the zoological garden is it?

I don't know.

Make sure you lock it.

Ok, let's get going.

Are there mermaids?

Yeah, we need to go to where mermaids are.

Ok, where is that?

Want me to show you where?

Yes, where are we?

Ok--

Where are we?

Here. Don't let her see.

Where are we?

He'll show me after. Get a map.

Come on. Let's get them out of our sight.

I believe it's this way.

The second left.

Unit -.

Flo: -?

Zach: The apartment on the th floor.

Hop in the elevator.

There is no th floor on the elevator.

Here we go. . I wanted .

We go to the th floor and say we'll walk down.

-, -.

We're on the wrong side of the building.

Derek, manatee. Right here.

Manatee, sea lion, penguin.

Right here? Over here.

Put on wetsuit and goggles.

Ian: Is this it or not?

I think so. Ok, this is it.

Ian: We heard we were doing the race,

we decided that carrying cotton underwear

was absolutely stupid

because to wash it and dry it

would be almost impossible,

so, Teri, doing some research, found a company

that sold disposable underwear.

Ok, modesty, guys.

She stripped right down to her sports bra

and those paper disposable underwear

and put the wetsuit on.

I'm looking at her saying,

"I don't believe she's doing this."

Anything goes to win the race.

Ok, forget it.

The apartment is pretty tough to find

because you had to go up and over and down.

It was really complicated.

-.

-.

-. This must be it.

Whoo!

Hello.

Hey, hello!

Oh, teams.

You're one team?

Ok. clues, huh?

Ok.

You want your... [chuckles]

Thank you!

Good luck. Go play, player.

Route info--

"Get yourselves one step closer to great wealth

by finding a clue at the Fountain of Wealth."

Phil: To get their next clue,

teams must drive themselves

to Suntec City in downtown Singapore

and find the Fountain of Wealth,

whose waters locals believe,

bring good luck and fortune.

We're finding a clue at the Fountain of Wealth.

Come on. Let's go.

Zach: We can try and find this place together.

Fountain of Wealth.

Ian: Come on.

Ian, do you want to help?

Instead of "Come on-ing"?

Ian: Let's start walking that way, at least?

I lost my goggles.

Just go.

Give me your goggles.

No! They're right there.

There it is.

"Get yourselves one step closer to great wealth

by finding a clue at the Fountain of Wealth."

I see it.

Ok. Let's get going.

Just go and read it.

"Get yourselves one step closer to great wealth

by finding a clue at the Fountain of Wealth."

Is it on there?

No, we're not seeing it.

Our map was superior to their map

but we couldn't read the map.

I'm not good at reading maps.

If you definitely saw it on here,

you can give it to me and I'll give it back to you.

Oh, I don't know.

It's up to you. If you want to give it to me,

I'll try to find it and get us there

in case we can't find a cab.

Do you want to switch maps, Zach?

Give them our Singapore map.

That's--you know what?

Give them our Singapore map.

We'll switch.

It doesn't matter. Let's go.

We're gonna lose you.Why?

'cause Zach won't give us your map.

Why not?

I'm just saying.

Flo: Ken and Gerard asked Zach

if they could borrow our map, and Zach said no.

Why don't you give them the map?

They just let us follow them here!

I thought it was important to have our map

no matter what-- in case we get lost,

in case, who knows, a red light separates us.

I wanted to hold on to it.

I promise. Stay by us.

We're not going to try to lose you.

I promise you, Zach.

What if we get separated?

We're not getting separated.

We don't know where we're going.

Would you like us to give you our map as a back-up?

Give them our map as a back-up.

No. I want to work with you.

He doesn't get to like--

Don't yell at him, Flo.

No, it's not fair.

I promise. Stay by us.

We're not going to try to lose you.

I promise you, Zach.

Ken, get in the car.

What is wrong with you, seriously?

I don't know. I must have a serious problem.

We just followed them all the way here.

Flo, Flo, Flo.

Why are you screaming at me?

Because you are --

Why are you yelling at me

like I'm some kind of an ...?

Because you are!

Ok, great. Well, then--

Why don't you consult me

before you make a decision

that makes or breaks the game?

How do you know it makes or breaks the game?

Because--ugh!

Excuse me.

Do you know where the Fountain of Wealth?

Suntec City, there's a fountain right there?

There is a huge fountain,

the world's largest fountain.

We're in the right direction.

Hopefully that other detour took a while.

Phil: Teams are now making their way

to the Fountain of Wealth,

where they will find their next clue.

Ian: Is this the way out?

Exit?

Excuse me. Urgent. Excuse me.

I have to get out.

It's going to take us into the city

which is where the Fountain of Wealth is.

Ken and Gerard just led us all the way here

and they offered to lead us again

and you don't want to give them the map?

I don't understand.

You know what, I won't yell at you

for not finding a damn thing on the map.

Flo yells at me so much and calls me names.

I just want to stop talking to her,

stop interacting with her,

and say, "To hell with you."

It doesn't have to be, "You idiot! What the hell are you thinking!

Why do you do it?" Why don't you say,

"Zach, I think we should give it to them."

And then we give it to them, and then it's over!

Because they were about to get in the car.

They were like, "Good-bye, we're leaving.

Zach won't give us the map."

They didn't want to share the map,

and it's like, we led them the whole way here.

If we lose them, I don't have a problem with that.

Oh, look, here's the sign. to .

Ok, that's .

Hello. I am Phua Chu Kang. Want my clue?

Yes, we do.

Oh, great. Thank you.

Good luck, good luck.

All right.

"Get yourselves one step closer to great wealth

by finding the clue at the Fountain of Wealth."

Found it.Found it?

Suntec City's Fountain of Wealth.

We're going to the Fountain of Wealth.

We're following Ken and Gerard.

They're right behind us, Gerard.

I wouldn't mind it if we lost them.

I am not trying to lose them, Gerard.

I'm not playing dirty.

Wait a second. There's nothing dirty about it.

Period, end of discussion.

They don't want to share their map.

End of discussion!

It's the end of your discussion. I'm gonna put my piece--

You can discuss whatever you want

because I'm not listening.

We're here to win a race.

I mean, it's win at all costs.

We have this map with the fountain on it,

which you're right about.

Most people probably don't have that.

Hopefully they will have a hard time

finding out where it is.

Ian: We're going west now.

It only goes north-south.

Well, I don't have a compass. You do.

We're going west.

But you said it only goes north-south.

Of course, you could pull off to the side and look.

Teri, if you don't know, I'm not going to know.

We can't waste that kind of time.

Suntec City. Take a right?

Fountain straight ahead. Go, go.

Ok, so let's just make sure

this is the fountain, though.

Yeah, this is it. Ok, go, go.

How do we get into the fountain?

Downstairs?

Take off your shoes, at least. Your socks.

That's going to be ridiculous.

You're gonna get soaked.

Run, run! Go, go. Go, go. Go. Go.

Get your clue, your clue.

Right there, hanging.

This is the day of wetness.

You're soaked.

Route info--

"Perhaps this ritual will bring you wealth

"at the end of the race but for now,

"drive yourselves to the next pit stop,

the top of Mount Faber."

Phil: Teams must now make their way here,

the top of Mount Faber.

This peak overlooking Singapore

is the pit stop for this leg of the race.

The last team to check in here will be eliminated.

Do you know where Mount Faber is?

In Singapore, though? In Singapore, yes, yes.

Let me get the map.

Oh, right there?

Thank you very much, thank you.

Oh, the Fountain of Wealth. I hope that's a good sign.

Right here. Ok.

All right. Here we go.

Flo: We have to run.

Let's go!

Maybe it's downstairs. How do we get in?

Keep going, keep going.

Maybe it's downstairs.

There it is. There.

Yeah, go.

Yeah, Zach! Whoo!

Good job!

"Now drive yourselves to the next pit stop

at the top of Mount Faber."

"The last team to check in will be eliminated."

Let's go.

Can we follow you?

Can you get in front of this car?

Thank you.

Zach, yeah, this guy--

Let's go.

The airport near that Fountain of Youth?

I don't see an airport.

Ok, fine. I'm staying on this pike.

Yeah, OK, I think.

I could be wrong.

So your guess is as good as mine.

Well, you're driving.

We had a map, but it was just a little confusing.

We had a hard time finding the main highway.

Teri: Try the person on the bike.

Suntec tower?

Could you take us?

Thank you.

Very important. Thank you.

Let's windows up, please.

Don't yell at me.

Sorry I was short with you.

Just that winning drive that I have.

I can't let go of it.

Right over there.

"Drive yourselves to the next pit stop,

the top of Mount Faber."

John Vito: There is the fountain right here.

Jill: Oh, this has got to be it.

Look for the clue box.

Oh, there's another vehicle pulling in.

Look at that. We've got some hope.

John Vito and Jill.

Come on, baby.

Mount Faber, right here.

Good, good, good. What does it say?

Mount Faber.

There's a flag. Sweet, sweet, sweet.

Parking. Where is it?

Unless they drive them away real quick.

Oh, there it is. The arrow's right there.

Welcome to Singapore.

Thank you very much.

Derek and Drew,

you're team number one.

Whoo!

Now I've got some good news for you.

As the winners of this th leg of the race,

you've won a -night cruise vacation in Europe

on Royal Caribbean's Splendor of the Seas,

which you can enjoy after the race.

That's sweet. Fantastic.

I hope we beat the other teams.

So do I. So do I.

When we get there, we're going to race

up the path to the top of the mountain.

Zach: Because that's what has to be done.

Ken and Gerard, I kick their ass in a foot race.

There it is. There's the flag, there's the flag.

Park in a marked spot.

Park it.

Keys on the seat.

Flo: There's other cars.

Come on, Flo!

Ken and Gerard, you're team number .

Dude!

Our strategy going into the last legs here

is to stay alive.

We got refocused again.We're ready.

Flo and Zach,

you're team number .

All right.

Flo: I'm really pleased, and when it comes down to it,

I think we make a great, great team.

Just need a little fine-tuning.

I can't believe there's anybody behind us.

Obviously there are other people

that are as bad at directions as we are.

Do you know how to get to Mount Faber?

Can we follow you and we'll pay you?

Yeah.

We've just got to get there before they do

and they're better runners than we are uphill.

John Vito: Do you see Mount Faber on the map?

Jill: Yes.

Do you see any flags?

No--yes, I see it.

I see flags.

[honks horn]

I'm sorry, back up. Back up. Back up.

Straight there. Right up there.

Teri: Right there.

Right, Teri! I see it.

Ok?

Can you be a little bit cooperative with me?

Can you?

When I say I see it, I see it.

That's the parking, see?

And then we run this way.

Ian: We're coming, Phil.

Finally!

All right, Phil.

Welcome to Singapore.

Teri and Ian,

you're team number .

First down.

Thank you.

Congratulations.

Ian: This is a grueling race.

Make no mistake about it.

This is not an easy thing to do,

but if you have the attitude of being focused

and you're not going to quit,

you've got a good shot of running to the end.

John Vito and Jill,

you're the last team to arrive.

You have both been eliminated from the race.

Has it made you stronger, this race?

Jill: Absolutely.

This can only make people strong.

If they truly love each other,

it can only make you stronger.

Our future now for us

is what our future was before this race even began.

We plan on having children together,

and grandchildren and getting married,

and we're excited and we can't wait to do it.

We're going to get married

before we have the children and grandchildren.

Yeah. Ha ha!

Phil: Stay tuned for scenes from our next episode.

Phil: On the next episode of "The Amazing Race"...

teams take Vietnam by storm.

We're looking for Dua nuoc.

[pronounces phrase differently] Dua nuoc.

[repeats different pronunciation] Dua nuoc!

Why are you leaving me here?

I'm tired of it.

Ok, then let's just quit.

Phil: And a tricky road block...

Ian: This is unbelievable.

Phil: Could mean elimination.
