- I think I know!

- Wow, it went really far that time!

What do you think of my new car?

- I like it! - Yeah, it's neat!

- It's the kind of car I want to drive when I'm older!

- Yeah, you're too big to fit in this one.

- But I think I know someone who will fit!

(laughs) - [All] Barney!

- That was fun, let's do it again!

- But Barney, I think you're too big for my car now!

- Well, then let's go for a ride in my car!

- [All] Your car?

- I sure do!

Open the door here and step in.

Just use your imaginations and hop in!

- [All] Okay!

- And don't forget to buckle your seat belts!

(car doors closing) Very good.

- A car that moves all by itself.

- How did it do that?

- [Gianna] It's driving away!

- Let's follow it, come on!

- [Kids] BJ! - Oh, hi there, BJ!

- Is that your car, BJ?

Isn't it cool?

(all agreeing)

- His car looks different from yours, Mario.

- Yeah!

BJ's is a race car.

- [Barney] Even though they're different,

they have a lot of things that are the same.

- [Kami] You're right, Barney!

They both have four wheels.

One,

four!

- [Mario] And places for people to sit.

- [Kami] And they both have bumpers.

- And they're both fun to drive!

(all agreeing)

- My car doesn't drive by itself, though.

I have to push it.

- Oh, mine doesn't drive by itself either.

I drive it with this!

See? - Cool!

- Whoa!

(all clamoring)

- Sorry, guys!

I still haven't quite got the hang of it yet!

- That was fast!

- It sure was!

We'd better look both ways before we cross this street.

Race cars are my favorite kinds of cars,

because they go so fast!

- That's why they're called race cars,

because they race each other.

People drive them on a racetrack

and they go around, and around, and around,

and around, and around, and around, and around!

(chuckles)

It's a good thing I'm not a race car.

I get dizzy when I go around in so many circles!

- I wish we had some toy cars to play with, Gianna.

- Me, too.

- We can take turns playing with my car.

- Mine, too!

- That's nice of you to share,

but if you each want your own car to play with,

there are some inside the caboose!

- I remember seeing some in the toy box!

Come on!

(all clamoring excitedly)

- [Barney] There are all kinds of cars in here.

- [BJ] In the toy box, right?

- [Barney] That's right!

- [BJ] I'll put this here.

You see them? - Can you find it?

- I know they're in here somewhere.

- You'll find them.

- Here's one!

- Cool, a taxi!

I've been in a taxi before!

- If you want to go somewhere,

you can pay a taxi driver to take you there.

- That's a bus!

- It's a city bus!

It takes people places, too.

- And a bus holds lots of people.

After you get on, you put money in the coin box

and ride the bus to wherever you want to go!

Sometimes it can be a bumpy ride!

- [BJ] That sounds like fun!

- The other day, I rode in a city bus with my grandmother.

- Did you have a good time?

- What was it like?

- It's fun.

After you put the money in the coin box,

we rode all over town.

- Cool! - Wow!

- I sat by the window.

The seats were so high that I could see

everything around us.

- Every morning, the school bus picks me up

and takes me to school, but I don't have to

pay to ride the school bus.

- There are all kinds of buses,

and all sorts of people ride on them.

- They do?

- Sure!

Come on over to the computer and I'll show you!

- [All] Okay!

- I'll turn it on for you, Barney.

- Oh, thank you, Kami!

City buses can take you all around town.

- That's like the one I rode with my grandma!

(keyboard clicking)

- [Barney] School buses take kids to school in the morning,

and then bring them home in the afternoon.

- [Mario] That's like my school bus!

(keyboard clicking)

- [Barney] In England, they have buses with seats

on the bottom and seats on the top of the bus!

- [BJ] Cool!

You could see everything from up there!

- [Barney] You're right!

- [Gianna] Yeah, you could!

(keyboard clicking)

- [Barney] And in lots of places,

people decorate their buses with all kinds of bright colors!

- [BJ] Check it out! (kids clamoring excitedly)

- I wish we could ride on a bus like that.

- Hey, I've got a great idea!

Come on and I'll show you!

- Okay!

- Yeah, Mario always has good ideas!

- He does!

Here we come!

- Come on, I'll show you!

Mr. Boyd said we could use these boxes.

Let's make our own bus!

- Yeah! - Cool!

- I think that's a stupendous idea!

- Look, maybe we could put windows here!

- [Barney] That's a good idea.

- [Gianna] What can we make out of this?

- [Kami] Headlights!

- Your bus is coming along very nicely.

- With all of us working together,

we'll finish it in no time!

- [Barney] I think you're right, Mario.

- [BJ] Everybody is helping!

- They are!

- It's a box to put money in,

because you have to pay to ride the bus!

- You've thought of everything!

Your bus is almost finished.

- You're right.

- We can take turns!

- Oh, can I be the bus driver first, please?

- Sure, yeah!

- Well, you can't be a bus driver

without a bus driver's hat!

(kids exclaiming in awe)

- Now let's get going!

- [All] Okay!

- Here's my money.

- Mine, too.

- Is everybody ready?

- [Gianna] Yeah! (horn honking)

- Oh wow, it really works!
