and I'm interviewing Emma's Mom and Dad.

So, tell me, Mr. Emma's Dad,

what's your favorite thing to do?

Well, I like watching Emma play soccer with her friends.

I also have to fill in this poster of my family tree.

Your family lives in a tree?

No, a family tree shows your whole family,

brothers and sisters,

Mom and Dad,

grandmas and grandpas.

-[Joshua] Oh, cool. -[Riff] Wow.

Well, I guess a family is like a tree

with a lot of branches.

Yep.

And just like a tree a family can come

in all different shapes and sizes.

I had to write about an interesting ancestor.

What's an ancestor?

Ancestors are family members who lived before you

going way back.

And I don't know anything about any of them.

All I have is this old picture album my mom gave me.

Look at all those ancestors.

Problem is, I don't know who they are.

They're just a lot of faces.

Italy. So my great- grandfather was Italian.

[Barney] Well, Italy is shaped a lot like a boot.

Oh, that's a great way to recognize it,

by its shape.

Look, Egypt's shaped sorta like a square.

And India's like a diamond, kinda.

The whole world is full of shapes.

What shapes can you find around you?

Those are the bells of the Campanile.

They've been ringing for hundreds of years.

Hey, wait a minute.

Where are the streets in this city?

Oh, here they use water canals

to get around instead of streets.

These canals connect all of Venice.

Whoa, that's definitely going to be in my report.

But if the streets are water,

where do people drive their cars?

There are no cars in Venice.

They use boats.

And some of those are special boats called gondolas.

I see one.

Here it comes.

Who wants to take a gondola ride?

We used to come to his shop to help him.

Take it one tiny step at a time dear.

First, choose a mask shape.

You know, I learned from your bisnonno

that you can do a really big job,

if you think of them

as little tiny jobs all put together.
