03x28 - Animal Talk

Post by bunniefuu »

welcome to the world of amazing animal

talk

hello sunshine

hello Sun hello two weeks of

days all right Henry

hey hold on I'm on vacation I don't have

to talk to you will excuse me taxi

hello dog hotel malamar and make it

snappy hello hello having problems

communicating Henry I 5 halfway around

the world no problem but can I get a

taxi to take me down the street maybe he

doesn't understand you

yeah okay take me to the hotel

malabar huh no Henry saying it slower

doesn't help he doesn't even understand

your language hmm you mean I got a speak

dog yeah look woof bark woof I'm no

expert at speaking dog but I think

you've offended him all I said was wolf

sometimes it's not what you say but how

you say it if you want to talk to

animals Henry you have to communicate

like they do but they're just making a

racket animals don't make noise for fun

they do it for a reason communication is

about telling others something important

sometimes without even making a sound

oh the spring no I mean animals also use

actions to communicate like sign

language kind of yes take these lemurs

no thanks I've already got one Henry

sorry they communicate with tail

movements that the other lemurs

understand how can I understand that

skunk if he's joking around that's no

joke he's saying look out I'll spray you

even I know that sound means animals

communicate in many different ways and

they're not all easy to understand

maybe that leopard is saying I've got a

pretty tail good try but it's a reminder

to her babies to keep up sometimes

animals communicate to show off I know

that my point exactly

excuse me I'm like you Henry animals who

show off are usually trying to impress a

mate look at me see what I can do or I'm

so strong

ee on vacation for a week we'll never

learn all these languages just pay

attention Henry and remember that

actions can speak louder than words

hahaha

ah the hotel malamar at last hello

I mean Riddick uh have you got any

messages for me has my mom called you no

I'm not telephone your mom ah how sweet

she worries alright Wow who says you

can't get good service these days no no

no a message is there a message for me

anything in the pigeonhole I think he's

trying to tell you that there is a

message either that or he needs the

bathroom real bad that's his way of

talking Henry yeah well how am I

supposed to get the message if I can't

understand the word he's dancing

messages don't just get left on paper

and answering machines Henry what dear

use email to know and these are

Thompson's gazelles

well Thompson should teach them the type

if they can't use email they use grass

to leave messages not computers and the

male gazelles write with their eyes

excuse me

that's ridiculous not when you're a male

gazelle in it's mating season you need

to leave messages telling the other

males not to go near your territory and

your females because they also have a

special sticky fluid that comes out of

glands near their eyes they rub it on

the grass and when other gazelles smell

it they get the message to move on I see

they got the point or is that smell the

point smells can make very effective

communication

but Bush babies have a very different

way of spreading their message Oh gross

isn't me housebroken

no it's his way of marking his territory

bush babies leave their scent on every

branch they visit traveling by moonlight

from tree to tree talk about getting up

to go to the bathroom at night once

won't be enough for his markings to be

clear the bush baby will have to reload

several times time for the competition

to move in why doesn't that other bush

baby get the message sometimes it takes

more than a smelly warning to make your

point

hey guys don't fight there are plenty of

trees for everyone that's better but I'm

not surprised the other guy was mad

why's that

how do you like getting a message like

that on your tree Henry Henry it's time

for your news report what now yes now

out of my way

journalism coming through

Oh

with this report from our treetop

reporter

and Torres gets knocked out of gymnastic

finals

but now our top story can be in dance

toilet sensation it's reported that the

queen bee has cut out all sugar so she

can lose enough weight to be able to get

out of the hive door for the annual

inset disco talking championships inside

sources say that bees talk to each other

by dancing and now in a shop revelation

from a beehive in a secret location we

have unconfirmed reports that worker

bees are feeding their queen only on

boiled petals and low-calorie pollen

while the drones are subjecting her to a

strict conversation regime that means a

lot of talk we've spoke to one of the

drones and asked him about their

monarchs chances of winning for reasons

of pre-contest security his words are

spoken by an actor I asked him first

what the Queen will be trying to say in

her dance routine that's confidential

I'm afraid Henry oh I can say is that we

think we really have a chance this year

her modesty has brought the new donkey

right of course and she's working

outside running around the revolutionary

type of sports or leg we think she'll

have something really big to say I think

they bought it

you couldn't even give it away Henry

what's actually Henry the facts are more

amazing than your fiction and you were

right about one thing

well that's a stud bees do have

something important to say when they

know where flowers are blooming the

nectar in the flowers is what bees need

to feed on and they're happy to tell the

other beads were to find it

returning to the hive this worker bee

gives directions to the others by doing

a complicated dance I got into things

right well sorta by wriggling their body

a certain number of times

bees can give each other directions to

the flowers like buzz to the left buzz

to the right and straight on past the

magnolias

you got it Henry so did the other bees

wanted to get lost though they won't

they use the Sun to find their way like

using a compass to find north that's

amazing their sense of direction is

almost as good as mine Henry you

couldn't direct yourself out of a lunch

box oh yeah we'll see

where are you going Henry Oh side team

lost huh yep need directions no no no

not me uh excuse me

double-double squad Henry

now you're talking Turkey you've learned

a language oh yeah is this the way to

the museum so I just go down here and

turn left right no right or left uh-huh

I thought you said you spoke the tongue

you leak tongues out of it What did he

say I think he wants you to walk that

way well I'll try but I don't really

have the legs for it um Henry I think

you should know that when an animal is

saying follow me it's usually trying to

attract a mate

oh I don't think turkeys are really my

type don't worry at least you don't have

the pressure this Australian bowerbird

has to impress his girlfriend

why is she fussy yes about one thing

anyway his Bower or love nest the male

has to build the biggest and prettiest

Bower to convince this female to go with

him well he won't get far with house

cleaning like that

what a mess that's no mess the bowerbird

collects anything he can find to

construct an interesting nest feathers

beads string and all in the females

favorite color blue excuse me why do all

the girl bowerbirds like blue

no one knows Henry okay so she's

thinking nice color like the furniture

hard-working bird maybe he'd make a good

dad that's the idea Henry will she go

for it the crowd waits to see and she

goes for him no more blues for that

bowerbird animals aren't always so lucky

finding a mate no matter how big or loud

their message is this rough grouse can't

make normal bird sounds so he

communicates by drumming wouldn't a

violin be more romantic maybe Henry but

by drumming the Grouse can send his call

much further he beats his wings while

sitting on a hollow log which makes the

noise travel up to a quarter of a mile

away what a racket a girl grouse has to

hear that the male even changes

direction so his drumming reaches all

through the woods

talk about noisy neighbors

but it's just no use there's no female

around to hear him oh poor grouse I

guess he's just drumming up the wrong

tree

you may be right communication only

works if there's somebody else around to

hear you

Henrys Amazing Adventures

double gate oh wow

friendly locals you seem to be doing

okay Henry even with your basic

vocabulary Thanks even if my Kobalt my

bollocks vocabulary even if the only

words I know are hello and follow me

aha that might explain it explain what

excuse me please go away I said go away

double-o and all that I think something

must have gotten lost in the translation

I'd rather they got lost

how do you say go away

telling another animal to go away it's a

big part of communication I'll say

especially where food is concerned

you're getting the idea Henry this son

bittern is usually a quiet bird it helps

to sneak up on your dinner but he can

act tough when he needs to whoa look out

crocodile actually it's a caiman but

just as dangerous the bittern has to do

some quick thinking to protect its cache

yep

walk away that's what I do you don't

mess with teeth like those hmm flamenco

wouldn't be my first reaction in a

crisis he's not dancing

check out those wings they've got big

spots like eyes you got it the bittern

is trying to scare off the caiman by

looking bigger are you kidding

he's definitely bitten off more than he

can chew don't be so sure

Wow that's one brave bird and with the

help of another they can eat all the

fish they need before the caiman returns

with backup even animals of the same

kind argue sometimes though yeah like me

and cousin Rex lucky we only see each

other once a year on lizard day for

zebras mating season is a time for

family arguments and plane zebras have

big families with up to eight females

for each male

first they bite and kick but you know

they're really mad when they start using

their ears excuse me a zebra with

lowered ears is saying get out of my way

or you'll be sorry

Oh got a run good thing they have racing

stripes wait am i mad maybe two females

are fighting over a male when the zebras

have calmed down their ears go back to

normal

cool talking with you ears I wonder if I

can listen with my mouth only if you put

your foot in it wise guy

Henrys Golden Gecko Awards

and now ladies and gentlemen it's time

for Henry's amazing golden gecko awards

and the nominees for the all-time best

amazing animal talker are the

third-place bronze award goes to the

bush baby you may not be very hygienic

but he knows how to make his mark she

can play sober award goes to the zebra

who are horsing around when they talk

with their ears for the all-time best

amazing animal talker goes to the winged

tailed lemur lemurs live in large family

groups in Madagascar and are related to

monkeys and apes and even people is up

to 24 lemurs living together there has

to be a lot of talking to find out who's

who so they use all kinds of

communications like leaving your smell

calling out and using special glands on

their wrists to leave set markings that

the gazelles did but best of all clean

tailed lemurs use the tails which are

almost as long as a baseball bat they're

great for waving above the grass so

everyone can find you

especially when ring-tailed spend almost

at their time on the ground they're also

great for those famous lemurs stink

fights what famous lemur stink fights

the rules are easy rub your wrists plans

on your tail until it's covered in your

own scent then wave your tail as hard as

you can

so you'll knock out your opponent with

your stinky smell he who stinks most

lives to fight another day and impresses

the female lemurs so with so many ways

of communicating the ringtail lemur is

my all-time best amazing animal talker

really great what's he saying Henry

absolutely no idea but it's really

starting to bore me what for a moment I

thought you'd managed to learn their

languages I thought I'd try that's why I

asked them back to my hotel great now

you've got some vacation friends some

friends hey leave that alone

that's mine I just wish they wouldn't

mess with my stuff

excuse me get your head out of my lunch

can't you do something don't look at me

I'm a narrator not an interpreter

are you okay Henry

what do you think sometimes you have to

stand up for what's yours Henry a good

fight it's not about fighting it's about

talking things out these gelada baboons

are always on the lookout for trouble

the males have to be when they're

defending up to six female mates from a

wandering bachelor you just have to look

at them and you keep away that's the

point Henry this guy uses body language

to tell his rivals that he's the boss

acting big and strong is just another

way of communicating now's his chance

here comes another big guy whoa

exactly those teeth say keep away or

else they also say I've got a brave

dentist

they may look fierce but the baboon's

would rather talk their way out of

trouble then get into a dangerous fight

well one's gonna make a monkey out of me

shouting and challenging is all part of

protecting what's yours no one wants to

get hurt hmm

I'm glad I'm sorry's girl friends of

course too many animals nothing is more

important to protect than their own

children ah would try to mess with a

cute little hippo like that

nobody once they meet his mom adult

hippos weigh as much as four cars they

do a lot of damage in a fight yeah you'd

be an instant place man looks like mom's

too tired to do anything today though

that's no yawn Henry hippos show their

strength by flashing their huge teeth

let's see but it is like yawning Lauren

once somebody starts everyone else does

it too

hey you're talking to the animals Henry

of course now I can understand them it

turns out they're all total party

animals so you've finally learned their

languages huh no this guy instead he's a

great translator ah that's cheating

you've got an interpreter you'll never

learn anything that way sure I will

I learned to talk a parrot into working

for peanuts at night I should have

guessed Henry after all you are one of

the most amazing animal talkers around

you
