-[Garfield snoring]
-[alarm rings]

[upbeat theme song playing]

-[Garfield] Hee!
-[remote clicks]

[whimsical music playing]

[cheerful music playing]

[doorbell ringing]

Hello, Mr. Arbuckle.

Thank you, Mr. Mailman.
And isn't it a lovely day?

[laughs]
You're in a good mood, Mr. Arbuckle.

I'm cooking dinner for Liz.
We're going to have a wonderful evening.

Life is good. Bye.

Eh, he's right. Life is good.

I actually delivered the mail to Arbuckle
without running into that cat of his.

[grunts]

That's a special delivery!

Welcome to the Mudball Express!

[both laughing]

I guess I should have been expecting that.

Well, let's see if I can guess
whose electric bill this is.

[Jon humming]

Set the table for dinner. Check.

Dust the TV. Check.

Pick up trash
from Garfield's mid-afternoon snack.

Check.

[groans] Which brings me to the thing
I've been putting off as long as possible.

Give pets a bath.

[Garfield giggling]

Oh, that was great.

Anyone can build a house of mud.

We built an entire shopping mall.

[Odie laughs, barks]

Huh?

[groaning]

Uh, guys. I baked you some lasagna.

It's cooling off in the bathroom upstairs.
[chuckles]

Lasagna?

[chuckles]

-Say no more!
-[barks]

[action music playing]

[rumbling footsteps]

[Garfield] Yummy, yummy, yummy.

-[barks]
-[Garfield] Yummy. Yummy

Where's the lasagna?

-[sniffing]
-Hmm.

Hold on a sec, Odie.

I smell something, and it isn't us.

Why would Jon put lasagna
in the bathroom unless…

[gasps] It's a trap!

-[alarm sounding]
-Uh-oh!

[screaming]

Bath time!

[suspenseful music playing]

[both gasping]

[evil laughter]

-Grr!
-[screams, groaning]

Bye!

[action music playing]

I don't care what you say or what you do!
You are going to take a bath! Huh?

All right. All right.

I'll take one just as soon as I get home.

[cheerful music playing]

What makes him think we need baths?

We took baths…

well, sometime this year.

[whining]

Hey. Let's go see Vito.
Maybe he'll treat us to a slice of pizza.

[yipping]

-[phone ringing]
-Vito's Pizzeria, Vito speaking.

[high-pitched voice]

No, signore.
We are not delivering for the next hour.

I'm watching my favorite TV program,
Complain, Complain
with Eddie Gourmand.

Excuse me while I hang up.

People, people!

Welcome back to
Complain, Complain
with me, Eddie Gourmand.

This is the show where you, the public,

can call in and air your complaints
about anything

except, of course,
this show or my wardrobe.

Ah! I see we have our next caller
on the video chat, Jon Arbuckle.

I know Jon Arbuckle.

Jon, what is your complaint,
and why do I think it involves your cat?

[Jon] My cat and my dog.

They won't let me give them a bath,
and they need it!

So I'm offering a big cash reward

to anyone who can give them a bath
and return them home before eight o'clock.

I emailed you a recent photo of them.

Ooh! We have that image.

Take a good look at it,
people of this fair city.

Ooh-hoo! Oh, a big cash reward?

You can make a lot of money

if you find these two and bathe them.

Ah! Vito can do that.

[man] A big cash reward?

Mrs. Shmidlap can eat salad tonight.

I'm gonna go find that cat and dog
and give them a bath.

[gobbling]

-[gobbling]
-[screams]

[Jon]
All you have to do
is give my cat and dog a bath.

I'll give his cat and dog a bath.

Jon is making a wonderful dinner
for me tonight, Mother.

[high-pitched voice]

What? "Strange"?

-[high-pitched voice]
-No, I don't think Jon is strange.

Name one strange thing he's ever done.

Please give my cat and dog a bath.
Please! Please! I'll pay you!

Somebody give my cat and dog a bath.

[sobbing]

Mmm. Mother? I'll talk to you later.

Fortunately, no one will take him up
on that silly offer.

[chattering]

[intriguing music playing]

[whispering]

-[muttering]
-Huh?

Is it me,
or is everyone acting weird today?

[gasps] Watch out, Odie!

[sighing]

Rats. Missed them by a hair!

Hey, watch it, will you?
What's wrong with all these people?

[whimpering]

Come on.

Vito's is right down the block here,
and pizza cures all ills.

[panting]

[man] I'm gonna get that big cash reward!

[muttering]

[all screaming]

Garfield! Odie! Come in. Come in.

I make the special just for you.

I don't care what it is
as long as there's a lot of it.

Oh yes!

[rumbling footsteps]

[bubbling]

Wow. At last,
a decent-sized bowl of minestrone.

[slurping]

Blech!
This minestrone tastes like bathwater.

-In you go!
-[gasping]

Huh? [screaming]

[yowling]

Come on, pup! [panting]

Vito! What's the soup of the day?

[sighs]

I think it is me.

[screaming]

[yelling]

Why is everyone suddenly
so concerned with our hygiene?

[yipping]

[panting]

You two! Get in the tub. Time to wash.

Aunt Ivy!

[yowling]

[action music playing]

[Ivy] Didn't you hear me?
I said get in the tub!

[action music continues]

[shouting]

[panting]

What do you mean,
wouldn't it be easier to just take a bath?

This is becoming a matter of principle.

[laughing]

[ribbit]

[suspenseful music playing]

-[alarm sounding]
-[screaming]

[action music playing]

In… the… tub!

[screaming]

I'm sorry, Madam. Are you upset?

[train horn honking]

You idiot! You moron!

You idiotic moron!

[gobbling]

[panting]

[angry muttering]

[crowd shouting]

[panting]

We don't smell that bad, do we?

[electronic voice]
Target is locked.
Drop the soap and water containers!

[Garfield] Cowabunga!

We're not safe.

[screaming]

[groaning]

Let's see what kind of trouble
we're in now.

Hi, guys!

-It's Liz!
-[barking]

[tires squealing]

You look like you need someone
to rescue you

from all those people
with soap and water and brushes.

[whimpering]

We're saved!

Oh, this is great.

Huh?

Hey! This isn't the way home.

[tires screeching]

-[ominous music playing]
-Huh?

[grunting]

[screaming]

[water splashing]

[cheerful music playing]

I have to forget about Garfield and Odie.
Liz will be here any minute!

-Where to put the cake?
-[doorbell ringing]

Oh. That must be Liz now.

I wish I'd been able to get Garfield
and Odie bathed before she got here.

[gasping]

I'd like my big cash reward, please.

What? I mean, how? I--

The deal was a big cash reward
for getting them bathed

and bringing them back here.
Here they are.

[spluttering] But our date…

I can't.

I have to go to my hairdresser now
and buy some new clothes.

[crying]

It's okay, Jon.
Whatever you cooked for her, we'll eat.

[barks]

Well, at least you two got washed,
and that's a good--

-Whoa!
-[thud]

Oh, look at Jon. All messy now.

You know what he needs, Odie? A bath.

[yipping]

[giggling]

Guys, no, no, no!
I don't need a bath! Stop!

I've had a bath.
It was, I think, the week before last.

[Jon] Stop, stop, stop! Help!

What about my rubber ducky here?
Stop, stop! Help!

[water splashing]

[muffled with water] Guys--

[whimsical music playing]

[cheerful music playing]

[Garfield humming]

[sighing, slurping]

Ah! Life is good.

You're watching your favorite show,
and I'm about to watch mine…

…Odie chasing squirrels.

[Odie barking]

It's showtime!

[barking]

-Hmm?
-[cuckoo sound]

Hmm.

Hmm?

[kissing]

[barking]

Yuck! That squirrel has no idea
where that nose has been.

[cuckoo sound]

[barking]

[Odie whining]

[kissing]

[barking]

[laughing]

Oh, this is my favorite thing
in the whole world!

-[Jon] Garfield!
-Huh?

-Your lasagna's ready!
-After that.

We'll be back with more
of
The Odie and the Squirrel Show

right after this brief time-out for pasta.

[barking]

[squirrel chittering]

[barking]

[squirrel chittering]

[barking]

[upbeat music playing]

[ding]

[Odie barking]

-[thud]
-[groaning]

[squirrels chittering]

[lively music playing]

[sheep bleating]

-[buzzing]
-[sheep bleating]

-[upbeat music playing]
-[squirrel chittering]

[barking]

I'm worried, Garfield.
Odie never wanders away for this long.

How can you sit there and eat your dinner?

I'm not eating my dinner.
I'm eating his dinner.

I'm going to drive around
the neighborhood. Maybe I'll spot him.

Jon? Jon?

Gee, where did he go? He must be missing.

Looks like
I'll have to eat his dinner too.

[munching]

[licking, slurping]

[animals howling]

[whimpering]

[barking]

[whimpering]

[barking]

[tense music playing]

[barking]

[man] Hey, Spot? Spot!

Hey! It's you!

[birds chirping]

It's been almost hours
since he disappeared.

I just printed these up.
I'm going to post them all over town.

Someone's got to have seen him.

All right.
It's time for the cat to solve this.

I'll find Odie, and I'll start by looking…

Hmm. I don't even know where to start.
I think I'm gonna need some help.

-What's in it for us?
-Yeah.

Give us one good reason
why we should be looking for a dog.

Odie is my best friend.

That's a terrible reason.
What's the matter with you?

Okay, here's another very good reason.
You're supporting characters on this show.

Help me, or you'll never be on it again.

[gasping]

-Now that's a good reason.
-I like that reason.

Good. You all fan out and look for Odie
while I coordinate the operation.

[Harry] He's gotta be somewhere!
It can't be that difficult.

Good. Now I'll begin
coordinating the operation.

Of course you can't coordinate
an operation on an empty stomach.

-Oh h* h*!
-[slurping]

[lively music playing]

[barking, snarling]

[grunts]

[growling]

[dog snarling]

Yuck!

[music continues]

[growling]

-[crashing]
-[Jon screams]

[Jon moaning]

We looked everywhere.

-Nobody's seen him.
-Nobody.

How do you lose a tongue that long?

All right. It's time
for Sherlock Garfield to take over.

Sherlock Garfield?

Ha ha. He thinks he's a detective.

I am. Come with me.
Time is of the essence.

Odie may be in great danger.

[man]
Eh, it's great to have you back, Spot.

The minute I heard your bark,
I knew it was you.

I said, "At last! My faithful Spot
has come back to me."

[whining]

I don't see so well these days,
but I'd know your bark anywhere, Spot.

It's been so lonely living here
all by myself since you went away.

I've missed you so much.

You're not gonna run away again
on me, are you?

[sighs]

Uh-uh.

Good boy.

[chuckles] Good boy.

Jon is still out putting up posters,
so I can use his computer.

Yeah. You live
in a real nice house, Garfield.

The city has closed-circuit video cameras
all over the streets

to catch drivers running red lights.

I've hacked into the city's computer
and reconstructed Odie's journey.

How did you learn to do that?

Necessity.

One night, a pizza delivery from Vito's
was running late, and I had to track it.

The squirrel jumped onto the truck,
and Odie being Odie went after him.

He chased the truck across town
until it reached the park.

And that's where
we lose his trail in the park.

And that is where we're going.

Whatever you say, Garf.

Come on, Lucky.

Oh, sure, Garfield.

I was wondering why Odie or anyone
would run away from this nice home.

You never had a home?

Never. I'm just one of them feral cats
living in the street

and under buildings my whole life.

You'll get taken someday, Lucky.

I'm afraid Lucky isn't so lucky.

Hey, we gotta go find your pal, Odie.
Let's roll.

Wait for me!

Gentlemen. I have come
to the expert scientific opinion

that this is absolutely…

nothing.

Harry, Slobber Detector Solution.

[spraying]

[Garfield] Traces of doggy drool!
Ah! I knew it!

[panting]

[suspenseful music playing]

The doggy drool
seemed to lead to that fence.

[moaning]

Observe.

A red squirrel hair.

-[bleating]
-A possible witness.

You're gonna interrogate a sheep?

Of course. He may have seen Odie.

But sheep are dumb! They only go "baa."

"Baa" yourself, fella!
You're looking for that annoying puppy?

Yes, we are. Can you tell us
where he went, woolly one?

-He went into that forest.
-Thanks.

Don't mention it.

-[growling]
-[screaming]

[Harry] This is a very large forest.

[Lucky] I used to live
under some of these trees.

There's an old man who lives in a cabin
down that way.

Odie likes to be around people.
Let's go see if he went there.

[man] Spot? Hey, Spot, where are you?

I found one of your old doggy toys.

Here, you can play with it and…

[thudding]

Spot! Spot!

[barking]

I slipped on that little rug.

I don't think I'm hurt,
but I can't get up.

Give me a hand, please.

Or… or a paw or something.

[straining, grunting]

This is a waste of time.

You'll never find him.

[howling]

[barking]

Never find him, huh? That's Odie!

[action music playing]

The barks! They're coming from that cabin!

[panting]

Odie!

[gasps of joy]

-I'm glad to see you too, boy.
-[slurping]

Hey. What were you doing here?
Who's that man?

[whining]

What's he saying?

I don't know. I don't speak dog.

This old fellow thinks Odie
is his long-lost dog, Spot.

Come on. Let's help get him up.

[straining]

Thank you. Thank you, Spot.

You're a very good, loyal dog, Spot.

I hope you never leave me again.

Odie doesn't know what to do.

He wants to go home,

but this man sure seems
to need his loyal dog, Spot.

-Yeah, well, that's not my problem.
-Mine neither.

[Odie whimpering]

[man laughing]

Hmm.

Of course I have an idea!

Lucky, you said you always wanted a home…

Yeah, more than anything.

Can you bark?

Like a dog?

[barking]

Congratulations.

I hereby appoint you the new Spot.
Welcome home.

[sighing]

We'll be back at our house in no time.

Like I was saying, it's so great
to have you back with me, Spot.

[barking]

Meow.

Good dog. Good dog.

You missed four meals,
but don't worry, I ate them for you.

[whining]

You should be home in time for dinner.

[kissing]

-[squirrel chittering]
-[barking]

Oh, look. My favorite show is on again.

Plus, it looks like I'm gonna get
an extra dinner.

[upbeat theme music playing]
