02x25 - Old Oscar Leads the Parade

the sun is rising high up over

terry town friends taking off and

friends touching

down and that's where you'll find that

one of a kind

there's never been another little guy

like this

so much in love with the sky like this

so buckle up tight it's a magical flight

with jj

jj the jet plane that's

it was a sunny summer morning in taritan

valley

it was a perfect day for a sky parade

every year at the beginning of summer

the airport had its summer sky parade

and every year old oscar led all the

other planes it was something he'd done

since the very beginning of ez airlines

all right everybody let's make this

practice run look good

we have the real parade later today and

all of terry town will be watching

us yeah it'll knock everybody socks off

if i throw in a good

spin roll and i can follow that up

hey savannah that does look like fun why

don't we try that too

[Music]

you know i can't resist showing off

all right everybody count off please

one two three four

five six find your spot

right here ready or not ready

once a year we're here to show them what

we've got

we're on parade sky parade

spectacular with all the friends we've

made fantastic sightseeing

we hear them say yeah

how are we looking you're a

great oscar you sure do you always lead

a fantastic parade oscar

hey tracy i hope i get to be in front of

the line

someday me too jj

hey guys just how do you get to be in

the front of the line

well i guess you um uh

gee

the young planes thought about that

question

all the way through the parade practice

and later when practice was over jj and

tracy decided to find out the answer

big jake why does oscar get to be in

front of the sky parade line

every single year jj and tracy didn't

know that oscar had come back from town

and heard everything the young planes

were saying

i mean why don't we each get a turn at

leading the parade

yeah letting us each get a turn would be

the fair thing to do

so those youngsters want to be in front

of the parade huh

well i guess i don't have to do it

every time i'll talk to easy about it

and

see what can be done now hold on you two

and listen you're too young to know this

but there are good

reasons why oscar leads the parade every

year

let me tell you how it all got started

a long time ago when easy airlines was

just getting started

easy o'malley had only one plane

oscar

and oscar was really busy back then but

he did everything

but there was one thing he did that no

one will ever forget

what was that big jake it was the thing

that made oscar a hero in terrytown

it happened during the worst winter

storm in terrytown's history

it was on one windy fall day because of

the cold windy weather a lot of people

in terrytown had gotten sick and the

town doctor ran out of medicine oh

well spin my profit sure is

cold because of the high winds the roads

were closed the train was shut down

and everyone turned to oscar he was the

only one who could get that medicine and

bring it back to terrytown

i don't know oscar this chilly wind may

be too strong

for you to fly i can do it easy

buy gum i know i can you just watch me

so oscar took off into the cold powerful

wind

he had to fly over the mountains to

klondike falls where he could pick up on

this

but he could barely see the icy cold

wind was stinging his

eyes i gotta

keep moving

and after flying for what seemed like a

long long time

my propellers colder than an ice cube

but

i've got to keep

going hey

there it is klondike falls i made it

[Applause]

[Music]

back at terrytown airport easy wondered

if oscar had made it safely to klondike

falls

hello easy it's oscar hi

i'm picking up that medicine and then

i'm heading home just thought i'd call

first because i didn't want you to worry

that's great oscar listen you have a

safe trip back and i'll see you real

soon

bye bye bye easy was happy that

oscar had made it to klondike falls

but he also knew that since it was so

windy the trip

back would be hard and he was right

[Music]

oh props gonna freeze if i don't find my

way home soon

but i can't see with the wind stinging

my eyes like this

i'm gonna have to close them

back home easy was getting worried all

over again

how would oscar land

help easy the wind is in my eyes i i

can't see my way to land

this was very bad but suddenly easy had

an idea

calling oscar calling oscar follow my

voice on

in well all right

so oscar listened to easy o'malley's

voice over the airport speakers

as easy guided him into a safe landing

oscar brought the medicine back

that next summer the city presented a

special flag to oscar

and held the first summer sky parade

in his honor

so that's why oscar still leads the sky

parade to this very day gee

whiz no wonder oscar's a real hero

yeah we didn't know this stuff before

honest big jake well i know tracy that's

why i just told you

big jake guess what i just heard

oscar was talking to easy o'malley and

he said he wants one of the younger

planes to lead the parade this year

what well that's what he's saying and

you know oscar he won't change his mind

let's go talk to him i'm right behind

you

oh no oscar must have heard us saying we

wanted to lead the parade

he must think we don't want him to do it

anymore

hey i think i just figured out a way to

have

oscar lead the parade and turn this into

the most special sky parade

ever come on

[Music]

later when it was time for the big

parade old oscar was at the end of the

line

well i'll just stay in back and let the

youngsters take over

little did he know that jj had a plan

and that all the other planes were in on

it

ready everybody

[Music]

what in tarnation is going on here huh

what am i doing in the lead oscar we

want you to be

in front oh you want me to lead the

parade

we sure do we're proud of you and what

you did for terrytown

we also have a big surprise just for you

it's the flag you carried in the very

first sky parade

yeah we failed it and fixed it up for

you

yeah do you like it oh

i think it's the most beautiful thing i

ever did

and it was the best sky parade the

planes had

ever had
