it was a warm sunny day at the end of

summer

and jj the jet plane was in a hurry to

meet a very special

friend it wasn't snuffy

or tracy or even

there perky is hi there breezy

it's good to see you today yes it was

jj's good friend

breezy the butterfly guess what breezy

my delivery is going to take me right

over lightning bug light

wanna come great

if you're a fun pal to fly with two

wheezy

who is always up before the sun

first in line to have some fun who will

always land a wing to help someone

as we fly through the skies

it now some may think we're the oddest

later that afternoon when all the

deliveries were made

jj and breezy returned to tarantown

airport

gee that was fun say how would you

calling jj calling jj the jet plane

jj please come to the workshop to be

winter proofed

what does that mean i'll see you when i

get back breezy

wow jj summer's almost over winter's

nearly here

so you have to be winter proof

winter proof brennan what does that mean

it means we have to prepare you for the

cold cold winter weather

well your joints will have to be oiled

and your coat will have to be polished

to protect you when will it get cold

winter will be here before you know it

gosh does everybody have to be winter

about my good friend

well no he doesn't have to be winter

proof but

he will have to find somewhere warm and

safe for winter

where well i'm not sure what if he

doesn't have any place to go to

that would be awful maybe i ought to

find him a place for the winter

just to be safe i better figure this out

i can't let breezy get caught in the icy

cold winter weather

after all he's just a little butterfly

my friend

butterfly like him do to keep warm and

have a way of

well he's an insect so maybe

he could stay with other insects i've

i'll ask the bugs at lightning bug light

maybe he can stay with them

so jj flew up to lightning bug lake

he arrived just in time to see all the

lightning bugs

start their nightly light show

hi there lightning bugs listen

my friend breezy the butterfly might

need a place to stay this winter

why there are little holes in the tree

trunk

do you guys live in these holes

i don't think breezy can fit into one of

those tiny holes

he's too big that's too bad

it looks like a nice place to stay for

the winter

the next morning jj set out again

and the first place he went to was

i know two friends who live here at

smiling meadow who

oh hi guys i need a favor for a friend

of mine

crazy the butterfly is looking for some

place to stay for the winter

can he stay with you great

where do you guys live in a hive with

hundreds of other bees

we spend all winter dancing around and

around buzzing our rings to keep warm

well breezy's kind of a quiet little guy

he probably wouldn't feel at home with

all that buzzing going on

i'll just keep looking but thanks anyway

well they're just as small as the

lightning bugs and they have somewhere

to spend the winter

i just know i'll find a place for breezy

too

jj looked all over tara town for a

winter home for breezy

[Music]

he looked in the tara town library but

it was too full of books

he looked in andy's donut shop but it

was too busy

he even looked in kurt's hardware store

but it also was too noisy no place

seemed suitable for a butterfly to be in

all winter long

and jj was beginning to worry just what

would breezy do when the cold weather

arrived

jj remembered old oscar's words

well nature does have a way of taking

care of its own

but jj wasn't so sure

and as the long days turned into weeks

and autumn arrived

jj knew that winter was coming any day

now

[Music]

one night a strong wind kicked up and

the temperature

dropped jj's concern for breezy

kept him up all night

and he was still awake at sunrise when a

cold

gust of wind blew in from the north

the very first cold air of the winter

[Music]

jj took off to find breezy

and he found him high up in the sky

[Music]

breezy wait for me breezy but

breezy was on the move and he didn't

want to stop

not even for his old pal jj where are

you going in such a hurry

just then jj spotted old oscar who was

out for his early morning fly around

hi there jj where are you going so early

i'm following breezy seems to be going

somewhere

you want to come really sure thing

they followed breezy all day long

headed south and even when jj called out

to him

breezy never stopped once

the journey ended in the mountains where

breezy led them

to a forest imagine their surprise

when they found that each of the many

trees was

covered with little butterflies like

[Music]

breezy

well this my boy must be exactly the

place you've been looking for all this

time

this is where butterflies like breezy

spend the winter

really yep breezy must be a monarch

butterfly

that's a special type of butterfly this

is where they rest

all winter long they keep each other

company in this

friendly warm place up here in the

mountains so

oscar and brenda were right nature did

have a place for little breezy and his

butterfly friends to spend the winter

and this was it i don't

think i've ever seen anything more

beautiful than this place

me neither breezy i have to go now

have a really nice winter

thanks i will too i'll see you next

spring when you come back to

who's found a terrytown to keep safe and

warm

out of harm from the storm who's the

cleverest

so old oscar and jj headed back home

jj was relieved that nature in its

infinite wisdom

had taken care of his little friend

breezy

and he couldn't wait for the first day

of spring

when he and his good pal would be

together again
