Hi.

I'm Julie Chen.

For the first time, you had a choice of three guest

to banish from the Big Brother house.

And tonight, the one with the most votes will leave.

But first, a surprise for the house guests.

Hi, everyone.

It's Julie.

How's everyone doing tonight?

[interposing voices]

All right.

Well, you're probably all wondering

why we had you set up a television in the living room.

Right.

JULIE: Well, it has to do with tonight's live challenge.

We've got a great surprise for everyone in the house.

But in order for you to get the surprise,

you must all first watch a tape.

Great.

JULIE [VOICEOVER]: On the tape--

don't say great yet.

On the tape, you will find last week's red room nominations.

All right.

JULIE [VOICEOVER]: So you have to decide

what you want to do as a group.

But unlike last week, where you had

to reach a unanimous decision, this week

the majority will rule.

So you can decide to watch the tape.

And that means you'll get this fabulous surprise

we have for all of you.

And trust me, it's something that's worthwhile.

Everyone is gonna love it.

Or you can choose not to watch the tape.

And that means no surprise.

And you'll never know what the surprise was.

So you have the next few minutes to decide what you want to do.

And again, this time, the majority rules.

I'll be back in a few minutes to hear your decision.

[interposing voices]

I don't think it's necessary.

We got enough conflict.

I say life's good either way, without the crap

that they give us.

We all-- we all agree.

But I just think it's better for everybody

that's gonna be in the house.

I agree.

They don't need it.

Damn.

We don't get to watch any TV now.

To bad for Julie.

No drama.

Man, I was really looking forward--

because that's surprising.

[inaudible] Megan and Jordan outside saying hello to us.

You know?

She said something we would all be happy about.

Oh, man, that's a bummer.

Oh, look, it's make a [inaudible] puff.

No dice, huh?

No dice.

Pugita, we lose out again.

You don't care.

You-- you don't care, Pugita.

They surely knew that would be that.

For them announcing it in groups of two who votes

for who, that's bad enough.

I mean, that's totally, you know, made

two days that everyone's sad.

So I can only imagine with that--

watching the tapes would do.

Yeah.

It also shows us though what happens in the red room

could eventually show up right in our faces.

Oh, see-- oh, you mean, while you're still in the house.

While you're still in the house.

They may just show it to you.

JULIE [VOICEOVER]: All right, everyone.

Well, I was listening in.

So apparently no one wants to watch the tape.

So no one wants a surprise, except Eddie wanted to.

Jamie, you didn't say much.

You don't want to watch it? - No.

JULIE [VOICEOVER]: Cassandra, you didn't say much.

You don't want to watch it? - Absolutely not.

JULIE [VOICEOVER]: OK.

Majority has ruled.

Fair enough.

If someone could please take the television back

into the storage room and I will have it removed from the house.

And thank you, Josh.

[interposing voices]

I bet what that prize was was our families

talking to us on a tape.

Maybe.

JULIE: Well, they'll never know.

And as you know, in this round, Josh, Cassandra, and Karen

are marked for banishment.

And no one in the house has revealed more about herself

than Karen.

Karen, what's up with her husband though?

I mean-- - You're married, right?

You're still married.

You're married, but you're in love or what?

He hates to kiss.

You now?

I want to kiss.

I want-- I want a hug.

I want that snugly kind of stuff.

I vacuum every single day.

You do more work than anybody.

You know, not to mention the obvious cooking and cleaning.

This house would not be the same if you were not here.

I started to analyze the house though,

in terms of like this sort of little family,

like with George and Karen being the ma and pa.

We parents have to stick together, don't we?

She may not want to admit it.

But I believe that Karen feels threatened by George.

I started with the chickens from day one.

I was so excited to have chickens, because I--

I like animals.

So then, all of a sudden, he became really

involved with the chickens.

Eddie, I used to think so much of him.

But it pisses me off that he is totally disrespectful of me.

Curtis is so freaking boring.

I liked him so much before I came in here.

But I see a different side of him here.

But did you not see Cassandra?

She's been working on him all week.

She's been working it.

She knows what she's doing.

I feel so gossipy.

And I hate [muted] like that.

That's not me at all.

I just started thinking about what I would want

to do, right after I got out of here, when

I have something just for me.

I want to have a kiss.

This is from Ashley.

Hey, Mom.

Why haven't you written or called in a while.

I miss you so much.

And as you know, I need you here.

I want to see them.

I want to hold them.

I want more than what I had.

That wasn't enough for me.

You don't know how hard it was to give George that phone call.

Only-- the only reason why it was easy

is because I know all I would've said

was I love you, I love you, I love you.

JULIE: Hi, everyone.

Now, in just a little bit, I will

be announcing who the viewers have voted to banish.

But for now, I'd like to give Josh, Cassandra, and Karen

an opportunity to tell everyone in the house

what their feelings are about the possibility

of leaving tonight.

So Josh, I'd like to start with you.

You have seconds.

Tell everyone how you feel.

Starting now.

Well, I'll tell you guys, you guys know me already.

And you know me well enough to know

that I'm gonna have a good time whether I leave or I stay.

And to me, I'm not worried about it,

because I have a family out there waiting for me.

And if I stay here, I feel like I have a family here

with you guys now.

So either way, you guys know I'm gonna

be happy, having a good time.

So when I leave, don't cry.

Don't shed any tears, if I leave.

Be happy. Go throw a party.

Drink some beers.

Go have some pool time.

Have it on me.

But I think you know that I'm preparing

I'm gonna miss all of you guys a lot.

And contrary to my lack of participation

in all the darn barbecues the card games and stuff,

I think you know that I care a lot about you.

And I have enjoyed every minute of my time here.

for you while I'm out there.

a part of some of those scenes.

JULIE: Almost from the moment they moved in,

the house guests form several alliances.

But Cassandra felt she wasn't a part of any of them.

I'm not gonna take myself through any kind of emotional

turmoil while I'm in the house.

So you know, sometimes you-- it might seem like I'm

introverted, because I don't choose to be with a group

or whatever.

But it might just be that I don't want

to do what they're doing or I don't want to deal

with what they're dealing with.

So I might go off on my own.

When they're beer drinking and all that kind of stuff,

I'm not comfortable with that, because I'm

not accustomed to being around people who drink too much.

I just choose not to--

not to be a part of some of those scenes.

So this would be perfect.

We could have our love bed here and then

our dresser down over there.

Don't you think?

Probably the other thing that makes me, not nervous.

But you know, that I have to kind of consciously deal

with this this whole touchy feely

thing that-- that some of the housemates have going on.

I don't care what they do.

It's fine, as long as I can, you know,

have a quiet corner to myself and get a decent night's sleep.

She gives really good advice and stuff.

OK, talk to me, talk to me, talk to me.

OK, OK.

You got to allow people to just be who they are, instead

of trying to make them--

you know, what I'm saying.

I feel you.

You know what I'm saying.

This is your life.

So you live it the way you need to.

Even your time in here, this is life.

I mean, it's a TV show.

But this is life for us.

JULIE: Joining us now is Dr. Drew Pinsky, our health

and relationship specialist.

Welcome, Dr. Drew.

Thank you, Julie.

JULIE: We just heard Cassandra say that she didn't want to be

part of any of the alliances.

Do you believe that?

Oh, yeah.

That was really vintage Cassandra.

She is extremely truthful.

She's direct.

She's honest.

And she just maintains great boundaries

in her relationships.

You notice how she doesn't get involved in some of the chaos.

She doesn't even need that sort of cuddly and mesh quality

that some of them need.

She stays very honest, very direct,

and very sort of complete.

JULIE: And she's very mature too, don't you think?

Very mature. Cassandra's wonderful.

She really is.

JULIE: Now, earlier tonight, we gave them a live challenge.

And they all said, no.

We don't want to watch that red room nomination tape.

Can't blame them.

JULIE: You weren't surprised?

I was not surprised.

That is a principle they all seemed to have establish well

back in the Jordan days, when they realized

that that information could be really disruptive to their

relationships.

We saw Curtis this last week really champion that cause,

when Karen came up to him he had an opportunity

to sort of vindicate himself.

He maintained that principle.

They all realized that that would

be very disruptive, if they were to sort

of violate that one thing.

JULIE: Well, Eddie seemed like he wanted to see it.

Any-- any thoughts on that?

Well, Eddie's been very sort of cavalier about this.

You know, he gets--

his-- his red room nominations are basically,

I just thought of somebody.

That's who I'm gonna nominate.

It's very-- very sort of random. It's sort of him.

But he doesn't understand them meaning to the other members

of the household.

JULIE: Except for when Jordan was in the house.

He was very vocal about that.

DREW PINSKY: Yeah, [inaudible] delivery.

Well, earlier we gave Josh, Cassandra, and Karen

each seconds to express their feelings, if it is them

who gets voted out tonight.

What did you make of each speech?

I was--

I was genuinely moved.

I really thought-- it was exactly

what I hoped for for each of--

for the whole house, which was an opportunity for closure.

And in the past, people are banished, away they go.

They get a few seconds to hug and kiss and away they--

they're out of the house.

No opportunity really to express themselves

and to have the kind of closure we just saw.

I really was genuinely moved by it.

JULIE: And it really seemed like each one

kind of had this prepared ahead of time all week long.

They were probably thinking what they would say.

I-- I guess so.

Either that or-- or they're just close enough now that they can

spontaneously bring up these feelings for one another

very easily. JULIE: That could be as well.

Some might say he was just looking for love

in all the wrong places.

I don't feel safe with Josh at all.

Josh was talking to me a minute ago.

Yeah.

And he was saying that he doesn't really

have a physical attraction to Brittany.

Where do you think Josh's attraction is?

If I could see myself having any relationship, even

after this show, with anyone, it would be

Jamie, to be honest with you.

OK, now, you know, then he tells you, well,

what I really wanted was Jamie.

You know what I mean? - [inaudible]

Like is he trying to move on, what is he--

I don't know. That bothers me.

And then, the fact that we want to have

sex with somebody in the house.

That is like so disgusting.

I guess I didn't realize the--

the-- the degree of my actions affecting someone else.

Look at how cute you are.

Not in the pool.

Stay out of the pool, babe.

JULIE: Now, a few weeks ago, Josh was getting

a lot of attention on the web.

But in the last week, out of the three marked house guests,

most of the talk on the web has been about Karen.

JULIE: So what's everyone saying?

Well, what happens, Julie, is as people get more connected

to the show and the characters, they're more likely to take

part in online activities, watching the webcasts,

taking online polls, participating in chats,

and contributing to the message boards.

So this week, we've pulled a few.

And you're right.

They're largely about Karen.

One person said, "I think she should be banished."

JULIE: Ouch.

Yeah.

"If the housemates only knew about her antics behind their

backs."

And remember, you get away with nothing online,

because the webcast is real time, all the time.

JULIE: Yeah.

Another person wrote, Karen's a slice of reality.

She's a human being.

She's got feelings and emotions.

There's a lot of Karen defenders online, particularly

other mothers.

On the flipside, some people say they think

there's a little reverse psychology going on

and that Karen doesn't really want

to leave the house she's just covering her butt

in case she gets voted off.

JULIE: Which sounds very human actually.

Could happen, of course.

But Karen's not the only one they're talking about,

naturally.

Someone said in the chat room, "Who here thinks Cassandra

and Curtis are getting a bad rap for being

nice and respectable?"

And that prompted a big online dialogue

about how they've handled their respective nominations.

JULIE: Nice guys finish last.

Now, what about the results of the poll?

We posted a poll last week, because we

had a new house yes go into the house, Chiquita, the pug.

Right.

And we asked people, who do you think will be most affected?

Brittany ran away with it, capturing % of the vote.

Someone in a chat room said, she'll hug anything.

So it's no wonder.

I don't know if that's a compliment or an insult.

And Jamie came in dead last, which is also interesting.

Not a lot of bonding going on there.

JULIE: And it's no surprise I think with Brittany,

because she was so excited.

And you could see that when we presented the dog

to everyone in the house. - Right.

been banished from the house.

Karen, welcome, first of all.

Thank you.

JULIE: How do you feel right now?

I'm ecstatic.

I can't think of anything.

I just-- I--

I get to see my kids.

That's all I wanted to do.

JULIE: What's running through your mind?

I'm just ready to-- you know, I wanted the experience.

And I got it.

And now, I just want to be a mom.

It's-- that's all I ever wanted to do.

JULIE: Well, let's talk about the experience.

You want to take a gulp of water?

Take a deep breath.

Breathe.

You're doing great.

Was living in the house everything

that you expected it to be?

No, it was--

it was different.

I mean, it was stressful.

It was-- I thought it was gonna be all fun and games.

And it wasn't.

It was boredom, you know.

I mean, there were wonderful things.

Everybody in the house, you know were great.

I mean, you learn something from everybody, but--

and it was stressful.

That's all I can say.

JULIE: What made it stressful?

Probably the fact that you could never really get away.

You know, you were always there.

And you had to either deal with the situation, think it

through, and then every time you'd go to think it through,

there was somebody there.

You, know there-- there wasn't downtimes, like--

at home, you know, if at work you have a problem.

You can walk away from it and come back.

You were there with it.

You lived it hours a day, seven days a week.

JULIE: So no escape, you mean?

No.

JULIE: What about going into the red room?

Was that an escape for you?

You got to--

The red room was, like, a nightmare, you know?

Because the red room was kind of one of those things where you

felt like you never really knew how the public saw you

and what you were saying.

And so the red room, you know, they'd

ask you a lot of questions.

And you always-- some of it that was controversial.

So you were scared that if you really said something, how

you felt, they would air that.

And somebody would think-- you know, because one moment you

might not like your house may.

You know, and then, minutes later, you work it out.

So it was kind of, like, intimidating

that you may say something that you may later regret.

JULIE: Sure.

I understand.

Well, I can understand why it's stressful,

because we had our cameras follow

you for nights, days.

And I'm sure you're curious to see--

Oh my god.

JULIE: How you came across, right?

Well, let's look at, just a glimpse,

of what our cameras captured.

Oh, no.

I'm so nervous.

I guess it was the goodbye last night, you know.

I-- I just--

I can still see their faces, you know, with their tears

in their eyes.

You totally look different.

Don't I?

Karen, do you want-- do you feel like cuddling tonight?

Yeah?

I'd cuddle.

[interposing voices]

I mean, I can't cuddle too much.

I knew I looked awful.

Oh my god.

When I'm in that mirror, I'm cleaning my face real close--

Wondering if there's a camera behind it?

You know there is right there.

Nuh uh.

Yeah.

- Huh uh. - Ding.

Wrestle.

Should I have a ceremonial thing with it, you think?

The last cigarette?

Sing songs and stuff?

Leave me the hell alone, so I can smoke every drag.

Oh, how awful.

How do you know?

Because I don't think you-- either one of you voted for me.

I know you didn't.

I think it was definitely Curtis, Cassandra, and Josh.

My kids are my number one priority.

You've probably seen them in interviews.

If my kids act like they need me,

then I beg of you to banish me.

I'm very homesick for them and I--

probably % of me thinks that I should be banished

so that I can see them.

But if they want me to be on here,

then I guess it's up to you.

JULIE: Karen, what did you think?

You had very animated responses.

Yeah.

I looked so good.

Oh, my gosh.

Is this-- is it going on now?

JULIE: Yeah, it is.

Oh, how awesome. JULIE: I know.

It's distracting seeing all these.

But what did you think of yourself?

Oh, I knew I looked like crap.

You know, I knew--

it was one of those things where I

had-- everything you had to wear had to be plain and simple.

They didn't want stripes.

So I went out and I bought, you know, things that

were just real simple and--

and then, all of a sudden not having a blow dryer

and curling iron.

You know, it was like, OK.

You cares?

ANNOUNCER: Other than physical looks, how do you think

you came across as a person?

Oh my gosh, probably not the way I would normally--

oh my gosh.

Chickens.

Probably-- I don't know.

I-- I thought it was probably a little harsh.

JULIE: Did you?

Compared to what I feel like I am.

You know, I mean, there are parts of me that

are kind of crude at times.

But I-- I like to think of myself more of a caring,

compassionate, kind of person.

And I don't know that that ever really

came across, except for some moments, I guess with--

JULIE: Well, what we did see in that piece was you speculating

about who nominated you.

Yeah.

JULIE: And this past week, we saw

you struggle with that a lot.

Yeah, I did.

Jamie-- I know Jamie--

I'm sure Jamie was.

And-- and I think Jamie did, because of the way

I feel about my kids.

I thought-- started towards the very end thinking that.

And I thought, that's OK.

You know?

JULIE: For a while, you were saying it was

Cassandra, Josh, and Curtis.

So I you think it was Jamie--

Cassandra and Josh.

Am I wrong?

JULIE: Well, you're absolutely right about Cassandra--

actually, you're right about all of them now.

But for a while there, you went around the house

letting everyone know you thought it was Curtis.

And that affected Curtis a lot. - It did.

It bothered him. And I could tell.

And I figured-- if it bothered him that much, it must not be,

you know?

But see, the only reason why I thought it was Curtis

was because Britney said that she had nominated him the week

before, which I did too.

So it was like he probably thought we were--

Brit and I are like two peas in a pod.

So that was why I thought for sure.

And then, I thought it was Eddie for sure.

JULIE: Well, - That little [muted].

JULIE: Hey, It's a live program.

What are you gonna do?

You know what?

I'm gonna bail you out of this, because I'm

gonna show you what Curtis had to struggle with when

you thought it was him.

Oh no.

I mean, I think it's kind of unfair for her to condemn me,

and even more so for something I haven't done.

But I think actually being nominated

may reveal something about somebody's character.

And I don't-- and I refuse to judge her yet,

because emotions are high.

And you know, she--

I know she feels things more intensely than many.

And I also know she's in a-- you know, she's--

she has a lot of feelings that I couldn't possibly comprehend.

JULIE: What are your feelings toward Curtis now that you--

I love Curtis. I do.

I love all of them.

You know?

And it's just-- the whole week was a struggle for me,

not smoking, you know?

And then, the fact that I wanted to see my kids.

I was just kind of--

I was just winding down to the place where I just wanted out.

And I wanted it over with.

I couldn't-- I couldn't deal with it all anymore.

It was just like--

you never knew how things were gonna be in the house.

You never knew, you know, the emotions that were gonna

be there and lack of sleep.

You know, and they took us off of dawn barbecue

which really destroyed us.

I don't know.

But it just like, dawn Barbecue made it worth getting up,

you know?

JULIE: Do you think this experience has changed you?

Oh, I'm sure it has.

I'm sure it's changed me in a lot of ways.

I-- I said something today--

I told somebody how it changed me.

And then, I couldn't even begin to think

of it right now, because of the excitement of it all.

I know for sure my kids more than I--

I mean, I knew I loved them.

And I knew I was crazy about them.

But I mean, I'd watch them.

I see them in front of me.

I'd sit outside in the yard.

And I just I wanted to hold them so badly.

I appreciate those times, you know?

JULIE: Sure.

I got something I got to say quick.

It's gonna be to point one.

I'm not even [muted] or anything.

Last week, after nominations were called out

and the tallies were up and out and everybody knew what number

they got, I've had four different people come up

to me during the course of the week and ask me

if I nominated them.

Now, tonight everybody had their-- had their opportunity

to find out who nominated and how

they got their numbers and this and that

and everybody backed out.

OK, this situation is hard enough

with having people already knowing what numbers they got

and already being nominated and already being up for banishment

and this and that.

I personally don't go for it.

We made this vow six weeks ago, whatever, that we

weren't gonna talk about it.

So me personally, I mean, you ain't gonna get

an answer out of me regardless.

But the fact of the matter is, you know, you put pressure

on me, whatever, how do I know you're not putting

pressure on somebody else?

OK.

Hurting them, wondering them, this and that, whatever.

Fact of the matter is, we made this agreement

six weeks ago that we weren't gonna talk about it.

So the situation being as tough as it is,

I personally would appreciate it if everybody would just

keep their own questions of who nominated what, no matter what

numbers come out.

Do all the mathematical figuring you want in your head.

The fact of the matter is that you don't know for sure

and you won't know until you get out.

And then, you will worry about it.

Tonight, we had our opportunity and we backed out.

Let's leave it at that.

And they might put it upon us again.

If we decide to take it then, then let's take it then.

OK?

Until then, I don't want to hear another word of it.

That's all I got to say.

OK.

That sounds like a plan.

I definitely agree.

I mean, there's nothing more to say-- to be said about it,

except for maybe the logic behind

it is because our group is getting smaller.

It's obviously harder to nominate

anybody I think at this point.

Maybe it's easier for other of you.

But I highly doubt it.

I think I know all of you that well at least.

And you're still forced to nominate

two, which is one third of the remaining candidates, you know?

You know?

So I have to pick two and I know that each of you

have to pick two.

And that's cool.

It's not personal.

Let's not talk about it.

There's a difference between knowing

and when we get out of here and knowing it now.

Because when we know it now, try as we might, we're human.

It affects how we deal with each other

and how we feel about each other.

And it shouldn't.

But it does, because that's how we are.

When we're out of here, when we're in the happiness,

and everything's going well, I wouldn't give a [muted]

if everybody nominated me or not, because the game

played out how it was.

All right?

And as long as we remember that we're here and we--

you know, to enjoy each other and have

fun and whatever, I mean, let's just do it that way.

I don't know why the nominations should screw that up.

You know?

Let's not lose sight that, at first,

it might have been everybody thought,

you know, coming in here-- and I personally

did at the beginning too--
