Chiara and Roddy for eviction.

Obviously, I nominated the two of you.

NARRATOR: Chiara was devastated.

Everyone had the voluntary reason to get out of that tub.

I didn't get that chance.

It is what it is.

You cannot compete back-to-back.

She knew the rules.

It was a woulda, coulda, shoulda, scenario.

But, you know, that's in the past.

NARRATOR: Gerry won the Veto.

And the houseguests were worried.

Recall, Gerry's the only person that actually

used the Power of Veto.

NARRATOR: But in the end--

I've decided not to use the Power of Veto.

NARRATOR: As tensions increased, the houseguests

were given a break--

Oh, my god.

NARRATOR: --a surprise visit by Sheryl Crow.

Who will be the sixth houseguest evicted from the Big

Brother house, Roddy or Chiara?

JULIE: Good evening and welcome to "Big Brother ."

It is day , just past the halfway point in the game.

Because of Amy's return to the Big Brother house

last week, there are now eight houseguests

vying for a half million dollars.

Soon after the housemates voted Amy back into the game,

she endured a grueling competition

and emerged as the new Head of Household.

The real estate appraiser from Memphis, Tennessee,

used the opportunity to put her old rival,

Chiara, on the chopping block.

Then to ensure her departure, Amy

nominated Chiara's boyfriend and ally, Roddy, alongside her.

Meanwhile, Gerry, the schoolteacher

from Shadow Hills, California, won the Power of Veto

for the second time.

But this time, he chose not to use it.

So tonight, the houseguests will vote to evict

either Roddy or Chiara.

And later, we'll find out who will succeed Amy

as the next Head of Household.

Amy's return to the house has shaken up friendships.

And long-term alliances are starting to crumble.

While Sheryl Crow's visit provided an uplifting night

that took their minds away from the game, well,

it didn't take long for the houseguests

to fall right back into their tangled web.

Aw.

Oh, for Danielle.

Oh, my god.

Love, Sheryl Crow.

She loves me.

She loves me.

was the most amazing diversion from this game ever.

To Marcellas, love, Sheryl Crow.

Oh, Marcellas.

And she spelt it right.

Ah.

She listed Big Brother House on her tour .

I knew that was coming.

I'll have friends now, any way I can get 'em.

[dramatic music]

This week I'm preparing to leave.

Last week, I did not.

OK.

And if I do go, don't you dare worry about revenge.

That's a bad choice.

I would never.

Why would I not practice what I preach?

OK.

I was trying be nice saying that.

I'd like to think I have respect in this house,

regardless of what's gone on.

Mhm.

Had she never come back, we'd never be up on the block.

JULIE: Congratulations, Amy.

You have won the right to walk back into the house.

- Yeah. - Welcome back.

You're our new HoH.

[laughs]

I nominated the two of you.

This is not about revenge.

Chiara may not have been nice to you,

but she didn't nominate you.

She didn't have the opportunity.

Bottom line is you didn't go last week.

And everyone voted unanimous.

I've asked Jay to vote for you.

And I've asked Gerry to vote for you.

Danielle will vote for me.

This is a hard one.

I know Lisa's going to vote for me.

I need to know right now.

What are we doing?

Marcellas is a wild card.

But I have a feeling he's going to vote for you to stay,

because it's Amy's request to have me go.

This is game, man.

This is game.

I can't play this game no more.

Roddy's out.

If you know what we feel is right in our hearts,

then we should vote what's right in our hearts.

OK.

If Marcellas is the deciding vote,

he would probably stick with Amy and her decision

to wanting to get rid of me.

I knew that you said that you'd support Amy no matter what.

Look at the people with a smile

your face and telling you things.

They are lying to you.

And they are lying to you in their own gain.

Telling Marcellas, that's me.

Just open your eyes.

People that are smiling at you might be lying to you.

So is Marcellas stirring up [muted] about me?

I don't know.

You know, I've grown accustomed to feeling

like I can trust her.

Have you asked him how he's voting?

We don't-- we don't tell each other how we're voting.

The person I trust the most besides Roddy is Danielle.

Chiara, you don't know what's going to happen.

I know I don't.

We have to prepare for the worst, though.

[laughs]

Her and I never forced a relationship.

Kind of just happened.

So help me god, if I walk of this door

at least one vote, I will [muted]..

What?

Bust your jaw.

I'll be like, ah-ha!

Wah, I'm here.

[laughs]

[slaps]

I think it's a better choice if they

got together and voted me out.

I don't want them to do it.

But that's what I'm afraid of.

I'm afraid people see that what I have going on in the house

is a bit more of a threat than what Chiara has.

Chiara's not going to go.

Everybody in this house sees Roddy

for what he is except for you.

I asked Marcellas.

I said, Marcellas, shouldn't we tell Amy before Thursday night?

He goes, no.

It was so obvious this morning that he told her.

I'm concerned because I feel like I

have been used by the house.

If she stays, I'm there for you.

Thank you.

And Amy was really upset.

And I feel so unsafe if I can't

trust anything that I trust in.

And I had compassion for Amy.

NARRATOR: Jason--

Because if I didn't--

NARRATOR: --please go to the diary room.

Voting got started this morning.

Big brother called me in first.

NARRATOR: Jason, please go--

I'm on my way, guys, now.

NARRATOR: --to the diary room

Which means Jason has to vote.

Hold on.

Just hold on, [inaudible].

I knew where Danielle and Lisa were--

were voting, and thought I did.

I just walked in the high-rent district, just-- just

to make sure.

Danielle said--

Opposite.

--go the opposite.

And I was trying to mouth, so does

that mean vote to evict Kiki?

Opposite.

And I'm like, the opposite of what I just said

or the opposite of what we were going to do?

He understood.

I hope he understood.

This is tough.

I hope this doesn't come back to haunt me.

So I don't know what's--

what's happening right now.

Roddy is, by far, the strongest player

that walked into this house.

[sighs] There's a lot happening.

I sure don't know what to do.

JULIE: It's time now to talk to the houseguests.

Hi, everybody. - Hi.

Hey, Julie. [claps]

JULIE: How's everyone doing? - Good.

How are you?

Mhm.

JULIE: And then there were eight.

[chuckles]

Yes.

JULIE: So somber tonight.

Yeah.

Yeah, it's a somber group tonight.

JULIE: Yeah, yeah.

I can't imagine why.

Well, on to lighter topics.

Earlier this week, Big Brother surprised everyone

with a very special, very private, very rare concert

by Sheryl Crow.

Yay. JULIE: What I want to know is--

[applause]

--what was it-- wasn't that great, guys?

- Yes. - Woo!

JULIE: [laughs] What I want to know

is, what was it like to hear music,

and maybe more importantly, see new faces

after six weeks of isolation?

Lisa, I want you to answer this question.

It was amazing.

[laughter]

I don't know, just running out the door

and seeing people moving, and they

were breathing the same air that we were breathing.

And-- [laughter]

--they were-- you know, it was Sheryl Crow.

And it was so entertaining.

And it was just surreal.

I don't think it's really hit any of us yet.

We still think about it. - Yeah.

JULIE: We're glad you enjoyed it.

Yeah. JULIE: Amy.

JULIE: What's it like being back in the house?

Oh, my god, I'm so happy to be back and during the Sheryl Crow

concert.

Amy back in the house?

what has surprised you most about your experience?

Roddy reveals his true feelings to Chiara.

But first, tonight is eviction night.

Of the eight houseguests remaining,

five cast their votes to evict.

The two nominees, Roddy and Chiara,

are not allowed to vote, nor is Amy as Head of Household.

All votes are cast in secret in the diary room.

Danielle and Gerry are first to go in.

I like Roddy a lot.

I have no negative issues with him.

He's just too dang clever.

I mean, the man's my biggest competition in this house.

That's the only thing I have to say about Roddy.

Chiara is very spoiled.

And a lot of times, she doesn't take the time

to look at the whole issue.

Chiara disappointed me in this house when she turned on Lisa.

And that's one thing that I--

I can't seem to forget.

Chiara is very--

is very outspoken, and I find that refreshing.

She-- Chiara also has a lot of high energy

at times, which is also really, really fun to be around.

She's not above double-dealing and saying this and doing that.

So, I mean, that, you know, that's a negative.

But that's part of the game.

I think Roddy's a master games-man.

Roddy's another alpha male, as I am.

And in a-- in a household like this,

there can probably only be one.

I vote to evict Roddy.

I vote to evict Chiara.

JULIE: Welcome back to "Big Brother ."

What a difference a week makes.

The former power couple, Roddy and Chiara,

now face eviction together.

Bedmates since week one, Roddy and Chiara

are the second couple to be separated by eviction.

But unlike Lisa and Eric, these two

appear to have very different ideas about their future

together.

You really have taken stabs at me about things

that were unnecessary.

And I've said this to you from weeks now.

I had a big talk with Chiara about a lot

of things in the house.

You know, especially since one of us is leaving,

I felt a certain urgency to get it off my chest type thing.

You've embarrassed me.

Have I?

Yes.

Unfortunately, all people can't be as good as you, so--

Wow.

--things happen.

It's kind of demeaning to imply that I

think I'm superior to people.

You really embarrassed me.

And I've taken it on the chin and been really, really polite

and really awesome about it.

I've done my absolute best.

I can be extremely annoying at times.

I will say this.

You've done things in here I would never put up

with on the outside, but realize you're

a better person one-on-one than you can be here.

You've never let one opportunity go by

to flirt with Jay, to talk about every single thing,

every other guy.

The third guy I was with was so small.

[laughs]

And I'm not a jealous person.

But you realize how much I want to completely--

Oh.

--throw it back in your face--

Absolutely.

--and rip you to death?

For everything he says, there's, like,

three ex-boyfriends out there who are like, yes.

Give it to her, you know?

We have to talk about the whining.

No, we don't.

It'll never stop.

Oh, god.

Nightmare.

I hope that outside of this place,

you think of me a little bit better than you do in here.

I get away with m*rder.

I've always have.

I've been told that since I was a kid.

And you get away with a lot, Chiara.

So I guess I'm looking for, like, constant reassurance.

My insecurity follows from the fact

that I don't feel like you truly like me.

I'm a-- Mom, help.

There was a part of me that did get taken advantage of here,

just in a very small way where my patience and my kindness,

I think, to her was--

was not really appreciated.

I was starting to care about you a ton.

And as I said, I got to a point it just plateaued off.

I feel badly doing this to you.

I'm sorry.

No, I think it's good.

Roddy and I are parting ways.

And we've been disagreeing a lot.

But I still wanted to get him a present.

I love watching you open gifts because it's--

Oh, my god.

I look like the fattest man on earth.

It's so cute.

He hates it because he looks like he

has a double chin in it.

And yes, it's hurt my feelings.

But I'm keeping it all inside and trying to be strong.

So I have to give back the picture because he

won't even take it anyway.

There's nothing worse than having someone look

at the present and their face is just like it looks like they

just smelled a bag of [muted].

I do look like I got a big double chin.

Isn't that fun?

No.

That's cute.

I gave Chiara a book, a book by my favorite guy,

my hero, Carl Sagan.

The best book I ever read and changed

the entire way I view the world, my favorite book of all time.

He gave me a book.

A [muted] book.

She liked the book.

She'd liked the idea. - Oh, gee.

It's everything I disagree with.

Yep.

It really hasn't hit me yet that one of us is leaving.

I am going to miss Chiara a lot.

I enjoy her company.

The friendship level for us is definitely established.

The boyfriend/girlfriend level is definitely not.

we can kind of go further with that and see where it takes us.

JULIE: It's been an emotional week for the two nominees.

JULIE: As promised, I'm back just

to focus on the two stars of tonight's show,

Roddy and Chiara.

Now, it's no secret that the two of you

have become very, very close during your time in the house

together.

How has being nominated for eviction against one another

affected your relationship?

Who wants to answer this one? - Go ahead.

Go ahead.

[laughs]

JULIE: Don't make me--

I don't think it's really affected the relationship.

You know, it was done out of a strategy thing.

It wasn't personal.

JULIE: Do you agree with that, Chiara?

Uh--

JULIE: Speak your mind.

You got a lot on it. - [laughs]

JULIE: I can tell.

Let's do it.

No, you know, it hasn't affected our relationship,

per se.

But, you know, it was definitely--

Percy.

Percy, Percy.

JULIE: Let her finish, guys.

But, you know, I mean, it's had a little effect on the fact

that we feel like possibly we wouldn't be up if it

wasn't for another reason.

So it's been a little straining.

I know I've been a little bit of a pain.

But for the most part, it's fine.

[laughs]

JULIE: Thank you.

Roddy, this is the second week in a row

that you've been in that seat.

How hard has it been?

Well, I am, as far as nominations, becoming the Susan

Lucci of the Big Brother house.

[laughter]

And--

JULIE: times? We don't have--

Yeah.

JULIE: --that many weeks in the game.

Yeah, I know. I hope we don't--

I hope we don't make any new records here.

But it's uncomfortable.

It's stressful.

And it's especially difficult going up against my good buddy

here.

It's made it even harder this week.

JULIE: Yeah, yeah.

Chiara, you look so distressed. - I-- [laughs]

JULIE: You look so--

I'm holding back from tears. JULIE: OK.

I know. It's an emotional night.

Well, do either of you have any final thoughts

you'd like to share with the group or to each other,

for that matter?

Chiara, I want you to go first.

[laughs] I just want to say-- oh, god, Julie,

you're going to make me cry.

Kiki is amazing at this game.

I think she has played the game very, very well.

I think Kiki is less of a threat to me than Roddy.

I think if Roddy stays in this house,

I think he brings a lot of--

of great wisdom and insight into how to play the game.

And the same reason that I would like to keep him in the house

is also the reason that I fear him in this house,

because he is an amazing player.

And I feel like if he stays here a couple

more weeks that I have--

I've given him the $,.

Roddy gets me a little nervous.

He sneaks around without really sneaking

around if that makes any sense.

Chiara was easily turned against me and campaigned against me.

It was really stabbing me in the back, and it really hurt.

You know, actually, both Chiara and Roddy have hurt my feelings

when it comes to that.

And it's left me in a really tough place.

Chiara only thinks about what's good for Chiara.

Roddy has been aligned with people whose behavior has

been destructive to the house.

And the perception in the house was

that he was this diabolical mastermind that was using

other people to do his will.

And that's why he should go.

JULIE: Welcome back to eviction night here on "Big Brother ."

In just a few minutes, either Roddy or Chiara

will walk out of the house.

With the couple's alliance now dissolved,

the game has opened up and other players have now emerged.

Up to now, the mother of two and the father of three

have managed to fly under the radar,

having never been nominated for eviction.

We spoke to both Gerry and Danielle's families

to find out what's behind their drive to win.

My name is Deborah, and I'm Jerry's wife.

Gerry and I have three kids.

He's a really great, great dad.

The kids adore their father.

They have a wonderful sense of humor, which, of course,

they got from their parents.

There was my dad's behind for the rest of the world to see.

The paper towel baby diaper.

How about his hygiene habits?

How many times have I told him, wash your hands.

If you use the bathroom, wash your hands.

That's all.

That's it.

That's all.

Every room in our house has a-- a theme, you know?

So it's sort of like being at Disneyland when you come home.

This is the Western room, or Frontierland, if you like.

And this is the Tiki Room.

It houses my extensive collection

of Chinese figurines.

And here it is, our own little slice of the South,

our Florida bathroom.

Gerry's like most middle-age husbands.

He knows who the boss is in the family.

But he pretends he's the boss.

You kids take that outside.

You kids take that outside right now--

I'm stealing the top of the watermelon.

--or there's going to be an accident.

Gerry and I have been married for years.

I mean, I can still look at him and see Gerry when he was .

And he can look at me and see me when I was , you know?

It's still there.

We miss you a lot.

[bark]

[laughs]

You know, I'm Javier, Danielle's husband.

And we've been married for years.

Woo!

What you see on the show is-- is Danielle.

Mm, mm.

She's funny.

She's intelligent.

She's very compassionate.

She's just a beautiful person.

Danielle and I, we have two beautiful daughters.

Baby one, baby two.

[laughter]

I'm Christiane.

I'm Paxton.

Danielle, she's not your typical mother.

She makes it a point make the girls laugh every day.

You got to put your back in it.

[SINGING] And not having fun.

And [inaudible].

And he's singing the song.

[laughs]

I miss my mom, and usually at the-- at the dinner tables,

because that's-- she would tell us the stories at.

I miss the joking around a lot.

I'm a married woman.

My husband better be ready.

The most embarrassing thing, telling all of America,

[laughs] you know, how much, how much she misses sex.

My husband better be take his vitamins.

Get a lot of rest, because I'm going

to need a lot of attention.

I just want her to know that yes, I am exercising

and taking my vitamins.

[pants] It's all for you, Danielle.

We've had hard times.

We have good times.

And, you know, there was a time when

we considered calling it off.

I blame more myself on that, you know, selfish reasons, so--

I felt he didn't love me.

[inaudible]

He would say I love you.

And I just was like, pfft, it was like talking to the wall.

And I said, I love you, Jav.

But I just knew you didn't love me.

We've been through a lot through our marriage.

We were very young when we got married.

The tough times really, really hurt.

I mean, we had some--

whew.

I think that's the thing.

She probably thinks that maybe I don't appreciate her.

It's a lot-- a lot of regrets I have right now.

Marriage is tough.

But it's something that I won't give up because I

enjoy being married to Javier.

It's hard every day in this house

knowing that I'm away from him.

And that it may seem like I'm just having a good time.

But whatever I do in this houses is for the game and for them.

That's what keeps her going is for the family.

Once she makes her mind up to go for something,

there's no stopping her.

JULIE: Now back to the game that Danielle

is so determined to win.

It's Amy's last day as Head of Household.

She's sitting alone in her private room.

Let's talk to her now.

Hi, Amy.

Hey, Julie.

JULIE: Now, just a reminder, the other guest

cannot hear our conversation.

Good.

JULIE: So you can speak candidly.

Oh, you got an earful for me tonight?

[laughs]

JULIE: Now, I want to ask you about during the nomination

ceremony, you said putting up Chiara was not about revenge.

Mhm.

JULIE: But in private, you've made it all too clear you

want Chiara out of the house.

What's the real deal here?

I do want Chiara out of the house.

But it really isn't about revenge.

Chiara approached me before nominations

and asked me not-- pretty much not to nominate her

and not to nominate Roddy because she

thought that it would be about revenge for my being evicted.

JULIE: Mm.

It's not about that at all.

JULIE: Well--

She made my a couple of weeks during my first stay in

the house rather uncomfortable.

And I feel as though she kind of mocked my values

and mocked my morality several times.

And I just, you know, it made me very uncomfortable.

And, yeah, I just don't have a great deal of respect for her.

JULIE: In brief, how would you feel

if it turns out that Roddy is the one who walks out tonight?

I will be extremely upset.

That's a risk that I am taking.

It's the risk that I took in nominating the two of them.

But it won't make it any easier.

JULIE: OK.

I will be slightly devastated.

JULIE: OK.

You know, it's probably the whole way it was happened

that really is most upsetting.

Just having someone return and that be

the person that puts you up and that be

the person that wants you out.

It's just it's upsetting, because half the--

half the problem is--

half the challenge is being in that house--

JULIE: How was your friendship, was your relationship with Lisa

in the house a real friendship or was it strategy?

I would say for the most part in the beginning,

our friendship was about strategy.

But I think it grew a little bit more.

Having her not vote for me is a little tough,

you know, a tough pill to swallow.

But nonetheless--

JULIE: Everyone wants to know about you and Roddy

once this is over, because there was like this romance going on,

this weird relationship.

Where do you see it going?

You know, I guess we'll see what happens when he gets out.

JULIE: What do you want to happen when he gets out?

[laughs] You know, I've said it a million

times in the DR that, you know, there's so much

more to explore.

JULIE: All right, you're not going to answer that.

Amy, obviously, as outgoing Head of Household,

you are not eligible to compete this week.

Now, as you can all see, we've got pictures

of all the evicted houseguests, Lori, Tanya,

Eric, Josh, and now Chiara.

Each of those pictures has been put

on the cube in front of you.

On one side of the cube is blank,

representing none of the above.

Now, this game will test your ability

to recall what your former houseguests

may have said at moments when you were all together.

I'll ask a series of questions.

And you will answer by maneuvering your cube

so that your answer is facing forward.
