Do you have any patterns of behavior
that you really need to address?

For sure.

than the ice bath to share who you are?

It's really hard for me to open up
and to talk about my past

and to address it with myself,
let alone others.

But I braved the uncomfortable ice bath,
so if I was able to get through that,

I should be able to talk.

I am a very emotional, sensitive person.

And I think for the longest time,
I've used boys to fulfill my happiness.

Whatever they say or think about me,
it deeply affects me.

this pattern come from?

I've experienced

not nice things being told to me by people
who I thought loved and cared about me.

And it affected my body image
and how I saw myself.

you're not pretty enough,
or you're not skinny enough.

And I carried that with me,
and I still carry it to this day.

Do you feel this will give you any clarity
in moving forward in relationships?

For sure. As long as I have
the validation within myself

and the capacity to fill my cup,
then I don't need anyone else to do so.

[Gianna] I addressed some things that
I haven't really ever vocalized out loud,

and I feel like a weight has been lifted
off my chest after this workshop.

With my ex, I, like, put my heart out,

and he did not give it back at all.

And I promised myself I would never
put my heart out like that again.

I need to stop looking at feelings
and emotions as a weakness.

At the moment, I'm not in a couple
or anything in the retreat,

and sometimes I find it
quite hard being by myself.

And that cold water just reminded me

that I need to be comfortable
in the uncomfortable.

I struggle so much

but that translates

I hate being uncomfortable,
but I do want to grow as a person

because I'm tired of just doing
the same things that I did in the past.

[Brenden] And what are those old habits?

I really just need to stop thinking
that all guys are out here to hurt me,

and that's why I run away.

And where does this pattern come from?

Um... well, I just want
to protect myself from being hurt.

And that stems from stuff that happened
in my childhood with my father and stuff.

He just hurt me.

My father abandoned
my family and I when I was a kid.

Even though I was telling him I loved him,
and I wanted him to be there for me,

but he still decided to leave.
