mission to save Earth

from the evil plottings ofthe tyrannical space lord,

Ming the Merciless.

[laughs]

Dr. Hans Zarkov and Dale Ardenhave joined me, Flash Gordon,

on a fantastic journey
into worlds where

peril and adventure await us.

[lasers]

[roar]

[roar]

[growl]

[explosions]

[music playing]

NARRATOR: Splashing
into the Sea of Mystery,

Flash, Dale, and Zarkov
become the prisoners

of Queen Undina of theundersea kingdom of Coralia.

When Flash saves Undina's
life and stops an attack

by Ming's Gill Men, the Earthpeople are given their freedom

and taken to the shore ofthe forest world of Arboria.

And now, Chapter Seven.

Adventure in Arboria.

It may be a long walk toBarin's forest city in Arboria,

but at least we're out
of danger for a while.

Knock on wood for that, Dale.

FLASH: I'm afraid
your too late, Doc.

Look.

[buzzing]

DALE: What are they?

Squirrelons.

Squirrelons?

Yes.

I read about them
in Ming's library.

Their bite is deadly.

In that case,
I suggest we stop

lingering and start moving!

[buzzing]

[screeching]

We'll never be
able to outrun them.

Head for those trees.

The branches may give
us some protection.

[screeching]

Flash, the squirrelons
are almost here.

[screeching]

Keep climbing.

The top of the trees
is our only protection.

Flash, please,
you can't stop them.

ZARKOV: Come on, Dale.

Flash has a plan.

I hope the water
didn't ruin this.

but I think we're

We need to follow them.

The first thing we must
do is put out the fire.

Do you have larger versionsof these ice arrows of yours?

I would hope, in
the future, you'll

make a less dramatic entrance.

I was just getting warmed up.

Zarkov.

Have you seen him?

THUN: He is safe.

The Hawk Man put out the firebefore he could be injured.

A squirrelon bit him.

Then, quickly, we
must return to my city

where he can be treated.

Arboria's a big place, Barin.

How did you manage to find us?

We had a little help fromsome of your new friends.

Queen Undina?

A message for Coralia.

They gave us the coordinateswhere you came ashore.

Then, our patrol spotted you.

Considering the
signal fire you lit,

it wasn't hard to find you.

Can't you go faster, Barin?

I'm worried about Dr. Zarkov.

With all these
medical gadgets,

you must be able
to do something.

The squirrelon bite
is of a special poison.

It requires a rare
root for the antidote.

There's only one
place in Arboria

where such a root can be found.

Then, let's go!

BARIN: It is not so simple,my impulsive friend.

The deep caverns where
the root is to be found

are very dangerous.

Zarkov needs that root.

I suggest we stoptalking and start acting.

Wait a minute, Dale.

You're staying here this time.

This time, Flash
Gordon, you shall

not escape Ming's vengeance.

[static]

Ready, my robot fighters,for a special mission.

Your days on Mongo are
numbered, Earth Man.

[laughs maniacally]

Flash Gordon shall notfall into your cruel hands.

THUN: Another Earth saying?

Flash, you're well on your wayto becoming Mongo's Confucius.

The roots we seek are inthe very bowels of Mongo.

It's what's ahead we
must watch out for.

DALE: It's like a fairy tale.

FLASH: A whole other
world down here.

BARIN: What we seek is there,on the banks of that river.

FLASH: A piece of cake.

Time grows short for Zarkov.

Flash had better hurry ifhe wants to save his friend.

Be sure to pick

They contain the medicinethat will help your friend.

DALE: How many more do we need?

BARIN: We have enough now, buta few more, just to be certain.

but that's impossible.

Afraid of getting your

DALE: It's Ming's Metal Men.

it's our only exit.

Ming must have a millionof those tin can soldiers.

river's our best bet.

[growls]

This place is full of surprises.

we're in need of one

of your bursts of brilliance.

Barin, do you have
one of your ice arrows?

I fear this will not
stop either the creature

or the Metal Men.

All I want to do is putthat thing in the river on ice

for a while.

[growling]

[lasers]

[lasers]

You gave us a way
across the river, Flash,

but you also gave
it to the Metal Men.

What was given,
can be taken away.

[growling]

[crash]

[growling]

Those robots are
rotten swimmers.

OK, Barin.

Find us another way out of here.

Flash, the
river's [inaudible].

Right here.

I only hope we're in time.

[growling]

We made it!

DALE: But can we get
back to Arboria in time?

We can try.

Let's get going.

I think we made it.

Ming will probably havesome of his robot fighters

in the area.

DALE: No sign of Ming's ships.

[siren]

Uh-oh.

FLASH: We've got company!

[growls]

This ship is no matchfor three robot fighters.

[lasers]

[boom]

Our two-to-one
odds aren't so bad.

Hang on to your seats, everyone!

[lasers]

[siren]

[lasers]

[boom]

That was a Ming
ship that helped us.

Seems someone in
Ming's palace likes us.

I wonder who?

Return to Arboria,
Flash Gordon.

But we shall meet again.

I promise that nothing onMongo will keep you from me.

[humming]

VULTAN: Your food
is excellent, Barin.

The company is fine, but I--

I-- I miss my sky city.

The time is soon
coming, Vultan,

when your city will be takenback from Ming's evil grasp.

VULTAN: That is a promise.

Perhaps the different
races of Mongo

can live in harmony after all.

Without Ming to
stir things up,

Mongo's not such a bad place.

At least, not while you'rehere to share it with me.

I hope I'm not interrupting.

You're always interrupting.

ZARKOV: I feel like a new man.

The roots you brought
back did the trick.
