02x03 - Clubhouse Bobby

Post by bunniefuu »

-Hi, everybody.

Welcome to Bobby's World.

My name is Howie.

-And I'm Bobby.

-He's right, ha, ha.

Anyway, Bobby and
you, people at home,
I got a little idea-roo for
today's show that, I think,
you're going to love especially
and so are you, Bobby.
Instead of starting
the show right away,
I've decided to give you a
little behind-the-scenes info,
if you know what I mean,
of how the show is made.
-Well, I think they would like
the show to start right now.
-Hey, I'm a little
older than you.
I think I know what
the people would love.
I know what you love,
because you love what I love.
it's a love fest.

Now, every good show
starts with an idea.
Maybe a drawing,
like a mountain.
-[SARCASTICALLY] Oh, mountains.

-Now that was a good idea.

And like a--
-Ooh, sunset
---sunset.
-[SARCASTICALLY] Ooh, sunset.
Yeah.

-Yeah, beautiful sunset.

And a, and a like a meadow--

-Just start the show.

---nice meadow.

It's a great idea.
-It's such a waste of time.
-There's a lot of great ideas.

-Hi, Bobby.

-Hello.

-Can we start the
show now, Howie?
-Well, little girl, very nice.

I, well, normally, I would.

But I think that the
people out there,
out there, would rather
see how a show is made.
More, it would be more
entertaining for them.
They would li-- Oh!

Oh!

[LAUGHS]

-I'll start the show.

Let's start the show, then.

Well, let's start it now.

Now.

[THEME MUSIC]

[MUSIC PLAYING]

-Derek, would you grab
the last piece of toast?
-Sure, shrimp.

-No, [INAUDIBLE].

Hey, that was
supposed to be mine.
-I don't see your name on it.

-But it's mine!
-No, it isn't.
-It's mine!

-No.

-Mine!

-No.

-Mom!

-Derek, now, stop teasing your
brother and give him the toast.
-Mom, isn't it amazing the
power that one woman has?
-Oh, [INAUDIBLE], I'm exhausted.

And my bridge club's
coming over today.
Ah, who's going to help
me clean the house?
-Can't, Mom, got a meeting
at my skateboard club.
-Don't look at me.

Tiffany and [INAUDIBLE] are
coming over this afternoon.
-Well, Howard?

-Uh, sorry, uh, uh, dear.

I, I, I've got to ready for
that big lodge meeting tonight.
[BARKING]

-Well, Bobby, lucky you.

I guess, you're
my little helper.
-Me?

That's the problem with
being a little kid.
And now, there's
not a place to go
to get me out of doing chores.

Hey, I'm going to have a club.

-And what a club it is.

Everybody wants to get in.

I've covered a lot of
entertainment news,
but I have never seen
anything like what's
going on here tonight.

-Can I get in?

Can I, can I, huh, huh?

Can I, can I get in, huh?

Can I, can I, huh?

-Uh, uh, yes, uh, yes, sure.

He can get in, Kenny.

-No, he cannot get in.

-Uh, no, no you can't get in.

Why can't he get in?

-Bobby's club's exclusive.

We can't just let everybody in.

-But, but, I'm a kid.

-Oh, he, he's a kid.

-OK, let him in.

[MUSIC PLAYING]

-Hey, great, I'm
going to have a club.
I can build tree house
We can meet there.
-Ah-ha-ha, hold, hold your
horses, here, Bobster.
You have to help me with all
this g-galley housework first.
-Oh, OK.

[DOOR BELL]

I'll get it.

-Well, hi there, Bobby.

Is your momma here?

-No, she is in the kitchen.

It's Jackie's mom and--

-[SPEAKING FOREIGN LANGUAGE].

-Oh, another lady.

-Oh, my Martha.

You know I'm not one to stick
my nose in other people's
business, but I couldn't
help noticing that someone
in your condition could use
some help with your housework.
So I decided to
bring Nafuja over.
Whoo, isn't she cute?

She's my part-time housekeeper.

-Oh, no.

I, I feel funny having a maid.

Besides, Bobby is
going to help me.
-Oh, come on, now, Martha.

Why don't you try Nafuja
at least for the day,
see if she works out.

-Yeah, Mom, let's.

-Whoo, you won't be sorry.

-Well, I hope she
understands me.
-[SPEAKING FOREIGN LANGUAGE].

-She is just a
dream. [INAUDIBLE]
I'll just leave you, guys,
to get your work done.
-Oh, yeah, great.

-Now I can build the tree fort.

-Ah, ah, ah, now rein
it in here, sweetheart.
You can't just
build a clubhouse.
You know what you need
is, well, you need plans.
-Plans?

-Oh, yeah, sure, hon.

You know, when builders
go to build something,
they follow plans, drawings.

That's what an architect does?

-An archipec?

-Ar-chi-tect you know, he
draws plans of the building
for the builder to follow, so
they know what it'd look like.
[MUSIC PLAYING]

-Bobby, we're about to
top off the last floor
of your prize-winning
tree fort here.
And, gee, I don't
mean to bother you.
I know you are on tough
schedule and everything,
but are these stress-rated
beams going to be enough?
-We'll try wrapping it
with this coat string.
-Thanks, that's genius.

Well, we're lucky to have
Frank Lloyd Bobby, the world's
greatest archipect
as our [INAUDIBLE].
-I'm an archipec!

-Dad, Uncle Ted, want to
see plans for my clubhouse?
-Sure, Bob, let me
see what you got.
-Yeah, Bob-O, let's see
what you got there, huh?
Hey, nice plans, Bobby.

-Thanks.

Want to help me build it?

-Well, sorry, Bobby,
but Uncle Ted and I
have a lot to do before
our lodge meeting tonight.
-Yeah, your Dad
and I are members
of the Royal Order
of Elephants Lodge.
Now, what's that of?

Because, eh, eh,
we're thinking--
-Because, because an,
[SINGING] an elephant
never forgets a friend.

-Yeah.

[MAKING ELEPHANT NOISE]

-What a great noise!

Dad and Uncle Ted's club must
be a really important one.
Well, if you're too busy,
guess I could do it myself.
Where are your tools, Dad?

-Uh, my tools?

Uh, uh, well, maybe
we can help a little.
-Yeah, yeah, sure
beats yard work, huh?
-I think a famous poet
said, a dad and his tools
are not easily parted.

-Uh, Howard, give me
the saw, would you?
-Easy, easy, easy with that.
-Let me see the saw.
-Just give me the 2x4.

-Come on.
-Give me the 2x4 right there.
-Come on give me that
thing, would you?
-I got it.

-Yah-wow, don't you,
touch, slammers,
come on, it's a pain, yeah--

-Ted, Ted!

-What?

-Careful what you say.

There are little ears present.

[MUMBLES]

-Bobby, uh, get us
another bandage.
-Last one, Uncle Ted.

-Howard!

-Oh-oh.

-Oh, [INAUDIBLE],
you're supposed
to be cleaning up that yard.

You know, you're just
as bad as the kids.
HOWARD [OFFSCREEN] I'm sorry.

TED [OFFSCREEN] What,
what, what are we--
HOWARD [OFFSCREEN] It's just
we're helping Bobby out.
TED [OFFSCREEN] I
was helping out.
What?

-Oh, tell me one--
I haven't heard.
-It was his idea.

---I haven't heard.

-Ooh!

-I, I almost forgot these.

-Kids have to learn
to be resourceful.
That means working
without tools.
OK, club's got to have stuff.

I'm going to need
sodas and chips, yeah.
I'm going to need sodas
and chips, and skate--
Yeah.

Clubs have got to
have skateboards
and cookies, and
chips, and leotard.
Yeah.

Well, in case there's any girls.

Wait!

That's what I need.

A club has got to have members!

[DOOR BELL]

-Hello, my name is Bobby.

You want to be in my club?

-No!

-Oh.

[DOOR BELL]

-Hi, Bobby.

-Hi, Jackie.

Do you want to be in my club?

-Um, sure.

If Rich can be in it too.

He is my buddy.

-Your buddy Rich?

Sure.

-You are so cute.

-Yuck!

Does anybody know what
cooties look like?
-Be in your club
where is Jackie in it?
-Yep, and so is my buddy Rich.

-You're inviting me
to join your club?
Is Wayne a member?

-Yeah, basically.

And so is Jackie.

-And so is my buddy Rich.

-Then you may count
me among your number.
-Now we have a club.

[TOGETHER] Yeah!

[INDISCERNIBLE CHEERS]

-Basically, what are
we going to do first?
-Wait till you see it.

Ah!

JACKIE [OFFSCREEN]
What happened, Bobby?
WAYNE [OFFSCREEN] This is
not the way you described it.
-Um, boys been messing
with our clubhouse.
[ALL] [SIGH]

-Come on!

[SINGING]

Nafuja, where is my clubhouse?

[LAUGHS]

-[SPEAKS FOREIGN LANGUAGE]

-Well, who asked you to
wash my clothes anyway?
[LAUGHS]

-[SPEAKS FOREIGN LANGUAGE]

-Basically, you talk funny.

[YELPING]

-Maybe she's a witch and
she is casting a spell?
-[TOGETHER] A witch?

-A witch?

[YELPS]

Who's casting a spell on me.

-It's simply static elecsizzery.

-I knew that.

[YELPS]

-[MOCKINGLY] It's simply
static electricity.
Just because you know
what something is
doesn't mean it won't hurt you.

This is fun.

-Yep.

-Yeah, this is real fun.

-Basically.

-Uh-hm, good time.

-OK, OK, so it isn't fun.

What do you want to do?

-We don't know.

We were never in a club before.

RODNEY [OFFSCREEN] Hello, hello!

-Who is it?

-It's me, Rodney.

Hooh!

What a climb, what a climb.

I haven't been this abreast
since I missed the school bus.
But seriously, can
I join your club?
[TOGETHER] No!

-No?

-Tell Rodney he's not wanted.

[TOGETHER] Yeah,
tell him, tell him!
Come on!

-Oh, OK.

Sorry, Rodney, you
can't be in my club.
See you!

-Oh, sheesh, I tell
you, it's a tough club.
I guess running
for club president
is out of the question.

BOBBY [OFFSCREEN] Oh, turnips?

No.

New walls?

No.

-Bobby?

-We can't give that.

That's my name.

-Uh, what's up in here?

-I'm trying out passwords, so
only kids who know the password
can get into my club.

-Oh, that is so
dead gum cute, ha.
How about swordfish?

-Oh, Mom!

-Oh, it's just a thought.

-Moms can do a lot of things,
but making up passwords
isn't one of them.

[SCREAMING] Stay out
of my room, Derek!
I'm making up passwords.

-Cherunsha?

-That's it!

The password's cherunsha!

-O cherunsha da da.

-Yeah!

Cherunsha da da.

-Cherunsha da da--

[VACUUM CLEANER RUNNING]

-Hi, Mom.

Boy, starting a club
sure makes me hungry.
-Bobby, uh, can I
ask you something?
-No, Mom.

i can't tell you the password.

-Uh, Bobby, Rodney's mom called.

Why didn't you let
Rodney in the club?
-Uh, because Jackie
doesn't like him?
-Now, why doesn't
Jackie like Rodney.
-Uh, because Buddy like him.

-And, and why doesn't
Buddy like Rodney?
-Because Kyle doesn't like him

-Oh, OK, I'm
getting [INAUDIBLE].
All right, then, all right.

Maybe you can just tell me why
you don't like Rodney, huh?
-Well, b-b-because, because,
Rodney is banned in my club
because-- I don't know.

-What are you doing?

-Oh, setting up for
my bridge club, Bobby.
Oh, Bobby, this is Mrs.
Immediate, you know,
the Immediate family.

They just moved in next door.

And Stephanie is the newest
member of our bridge club,
don't you know?

-That's your dogie?

-Yeah, this is Roger.

He is a sleep dog.

[BARKS]

You mean sheep dog, don't you?

-No, he is a sleep dog.

[BARKS]

He sleeps all the time.

-You know, Stephanie,
these mock crab
snacks you made are going to
be the hit of our meeting.
-They are not mock.

I only use real crab meat.

-Oh, yeah.

But you know what,
you could have saved
a bundle by using
the fake stuff.
They stripe it up
so nice, you know.
My family just loves
it, don't you know?
Uh, Bobby, why don't
you just run along
now, hon, and find
something to do.
-Why can't I stay here?

-Uh, because, Bobby--

-Ba-ba-ba-ba, let
me handle this.
You play bridge?

-No.

-This is a bridge club.

You don't belong here.

-You can always tell the
grown-ups who don't have kids.
[KNOCKS]

HOWARD [OFFSCREEN] Who is it?

-It's me.

Can I come in?

-Uh, uh, look, Bobby, we,
we can't be disturbed.
We have a very
important lodge meeting.
-Yeah, you want to know why?

Because--

[SINGING] an elephant
never forgets a friend.
[ELEPHANT NOISE]

-Ooh, something I've never
thought of for my club.
Ha.

[LAUGHTER]

Derek?

Maybe now that I have a club,
Derek will let me join his.
KIDS [OFFSCREEN] Get out!

-And again, maybe not.

-Oh, look at that smile.

-Oh, he is just too
much bait for me.
-Oh, he's like a dream.

-Ah, could you like
just get totally
lost in his Mick Jagger lips?

-Ah, it's like total
liposuction of the face.
-You should get
a big [INAUDIBLE]
for Madonna, instead of
having him like [INAUDIBLE].
-Why?

Well, what did she say?

[TOGETHER] Bobby!

-You are not supposed to listen
to our private conversation.
-Little brothers!

-They could be such
little monsters.
Uh!

-Little monsters?

[MOB CHEERING]

--[INAUDIBLE] und put
out those torches.
Don't you know you
could start a fire?
Now, everybody make a wish
and blow out the torches.
-I hope the monster goes away.

I hope the monster goes away.

I hope the monster
goes [INAUDIBLE].
-I am sorry to
disturb your guests,
but is there a
little monster here?
Hello?

-Look up at the sky.

-It's a bat.

-A plane.

A plane.

-Oh, Babu, that is not a plane.

That is a little monster.

[SCREAMS]

-You.

Not.

Understand.

-Oh, yes we do.

Und we don't what you here.

Do you understand it?

Uh?

-Wait, I just want to join club.

[TOGETHER] No!

No!

No!

-And stay out.

-It doesn't feel very good
to have nobody want you.
I wonder if this
how Rodney feels.
And that's why, I think,
we've all made a [INAUDIBLE]
and we should let
Rodney into the club.
-I thought you didn't like him.

-Yeah!

-You said you didn't like him.

-No, you said you
didn't like him.
-Wait, everybody, wait,
wait, wait, wait, wait, wait.
What if we give Rodney a test?

Like in my book about King
Arthur and a night table.
-That's the knights
around the table.
-You want Rodney
to slay a dragon?
-Well, we don't have a dragon.

-I have an old broken wagon.

-Everyone knows you
can't slay a wagon.
-But you can fix a wagon.

-That's right.

-[INAUDIBLE].

-OK.

-Go ahead.

-And we agree, if Rodney can fix
a wagon, he can join the club.
Let the test begin!

-OK, OK.

It's going to be tough,
but I'll fix your wagon.
But I'm not getting
any help around here.
Could you pass me a screwdriver?

Hey, what are you,
guys, [INAUDIBLE]?
-Boy, it looks like it's
going to be a tough job.
-Ooh, hey.

You want to talk about tough?

I'll tell you.

Tough is when my
Dad cooks stake.
[LAUGH]

-Tough, tough, tough is
eating it by Aunt Hildas.
She has a four
vegetable minimum.
[LAUGH]

-I got it!

I got it!

I didn't get it.

-That's OK, Rodney.

Everybody, huddle up!

[WHISPER]

Rodney, we don't care that
you couldn't fix our wagon.
You can still be in the club,
because we think you're nice.
[CHEERING]

-You know, once you
get to know someone,
it seems like they're a friend.

King Arthur said that.

Uh, no, i guess maybe
it was Uncle Ted.
-Now, what do you want to do?

-Basically, I don't know.

-What do you want to do?

-Hey, hey, stop me if
you've heard this one--
-Stop!

-Well, now the show is over.

So we have time to tell people
at home how the show's made.
This is all--

-No you can't!

-Why?

-Because people
aren't supposed to--
-Ah!

What?

Why would you do that?

-Because that's the
kind of woman I am.
[CHEERING]

-Thank you!

-Bye!

Bye!

[MUSIC PLAYING]
