- At last, Count Vlad!

- I have been waiting for you, Jonathan Harker!

Patience, my friends.

Our trap has been set!

- The last time I heard from Young Harker

was three months ago.

He was on an archeological expedition in Transylvania.

- Doctor Helsing, this is the st century.

People don't just disappear without a trace.

- Transylvania is different,

not at all part of this century.

- Yes, Transylvania is different.

I think we all should go look for Jonathan Harker!

- Hope we have better luck here.

- We better. From here on, there's no road.

This is where the map ends.

- Let's see what we can learn from the locals.

Maybe they know something.

- You want?

- Transylvanian hospitality at its most charming.

- We're looking for an American.

Jonathan Harker.

- He was here. He left.

- Where did he go?

- Not where anyone would wish to follow.

- Mister, we're not trying to create a problem.

We're just here looking for a friend

a lot of people are worried about.

- If you are friends of Harker, you are not welcome.

Leave!

- We intend to stick around until we find out

what happened to him.

- I warned you!

- These people could use a lesson in manners.

- I've heard of welcoming committees,

but this is ridiculous!

[all shouting]

- Scatter, you fools! Begone!

- It's the Hetman!

- Thanks.

I've always said timing is everything.

- These peasants respond only to brute force.

I understand you seek a Jonathan Harker.

- News travels fast.

- My master would be pleased to have you as his guests.

Please get in.

- If you don't mind, we've got our own wheels.

- As you wish.

- "Denn die Todten reiten schnell"?

What's that mean?

- It sure ain't "Cruisin' Cruiser."

- It's German.

And translates as "The Dead Travel Fast."

- This guy sounds like a lot of laughs!

Do you know what you're doing, son?

- Trust me, Dad! Trust me!

- I think I'll stick to flying.

- We are flying, Flash.

- Are my eyes deceiving me,

or is that the coach we were racing?

- Looks like it to me too, Dad.

Who knows, maybe they're a two-coach family.

- I think you're right, Lothar.

- Uh-oh.

I think we've got another welcoming committee.

- This is very strange.

Wolves are naturally timid creatures.

- I'll calm them down, Father.

- Begone!

- My apologies for this incident.

I am Count Vlad.

Welcome to my castle.

- Your man said you could help us.

We're looking for Jonathan Harker.
[ … ]

- I will share what information I have with you over dinner.

Meanwhile, you will be my honored guests.

- I wouldn't be caught dead in a place like this.

- Bad choice of words, Rick.

- Yeah, especially after the Count said

dinner at midnight.

Who eats dinner at midnight?

- What's wrong with that? I think it's rather elegant!

- Wow! - Double wow!

- What's everybody wowing about? That's just Jedda.

- I have come to escort you to dinner.

I found young Harker a most energetic young man.

But frankly, he had some unusual ideas.

- Such as?

- He somehow felt he was related to me.

- According to the photographs we were shown,

there is a definite physical resemblance.

- You think so? I really do not see it.

But at any rate, I am afraid I will be of little help to you

in finding Mr. Harker.

- A sweet drink with no alcohol,

so the young ones can toast, too.

To new friends, to my honored guests,

and to the memory of Jonathan Harker.

- No, thank you.

Excuse me, you said, "To the memory"?

- That is what I said, memory.

Harker's quest led him deeper into the mountains.

I tried to warn him.

Difficult terrain, and the bandits and such.

- Bandits and such?

- I never dreamed my plan would work so well.

Harker was the bait.

I did not know it would snare the Defenders of the Earth.

- But are we prepared for people such as these, Master?

- They are already under the influence of my potion.

Tonight, I shall claim my first victim.

I have come to you.

Now you are free to become my servant!

Now we shall always be together, my sweet.

[screeches]

- Jedda! Are you all right?

We heard a scream!

- I--I don't know, Father.

I--I had a very strange dream.

I was turned into a panther.

And I was fighting...

I don't know!

[groans]

I hurt all over!

- I don't like this place or this Vlad character.

Tomorrow morning, we take this place apart

stone by stone to find Harker.

- That is a sound plan.

I concur with your sentiments completely, Flash.

- Why don't we all return to our rooms?

- Will you be all right, Jedda?

- Yes, Father.

- I do not understand what happened.

Ah!

Easy on that right wing-- I mean, shoulder.

Somehow the woman is not fully under my powers.

- Perhaps we did not give your potion enough time.

- Yes. Yes, that's it.

Tomorrow will be a different story

for the Defenders!

- I think Vlad is lying.

I believe he knows exactly where Harker is.

- You have to see a problem before you can solve it.

I think a little recon mission is in order.

- Let me do it.

This is one mission I will enjoy.

- Step two, let's make contact with Dynac

and see if she's got any input.

- Good thought, Rick.

- What's happening to me?

- Rick, you've turned into a huge white owl!

- It's like in my dream, except I turned into a panther.

- But this is not a dream, Jedda!

Somebody do something!

- Dynac! Dynac! Come in! Come in!

- What? What do you want from me?

- The same obedience

others in your village have given.

- No! I shall never become one of your zombies!

- All right!

All right! All right!

- Kneel. - Yes, Master.

- You shall be my servant in all things,

great and small.

- Yes, Master.

- You shall serve me here and beyond!

- [stammering]

Yes, Master.

- There is one among the Defenders,

the Phantom, who would not drink the potion.

Seek him out and destroy him!

- Your symptoms indicate that somehow

you have all been infected by a rare potion.

- You mean we're all gonna turn into owls or panthers?
[ … ]

- The potion will transform each of you into the animal

most represented by his personality.

- Is there an antidote, Dynac?

- An antidote is in preparation.

A delivery rocket will be launched

on your coordinates within the hour.

- Down!

Good! Stay?

Why do they not obey?

- The antidote is ready and loaded.

Preparing to launch.

Five, four, three,

two, one, launch!

- What's the ETA?

- Estimated time of arrival, one hour and fifteen minutes.

- Thanks, Dynac.

Mandrake, if you've got something

hidden up your sleeve right now,

it'd sure be appreciated.

I'm not changing into anything! I've got to fight this.

Oh, no!

- Gee, Dad.

I've heard of birds of a feather,

but this is ridiculous!

- Be serious. This isn't funny!

- An owl, a panther, a falcon, a cobra--

you guys are a menagerie!

- Great! I've changed!

- Kshin's a spider monkey!

- Wow! I got a tail to hang from!

- Son, we'd best find some answers fast!

- Let's go hunt this Vlad character

and give him what he deserves.

- We would like to see Count Vlad.

- Entrance into the dungeon is forbidden.

- Take us to the Count, or we'll find him ourselves!

- No one must pass!

- That's what I like about you, Dad.

You get right to the point.

- Hetman was right.

These peasants respond only to brute force.

Now for Vlad!

- Dad, what's going on here?

- The rocket with the antidote has landed in the maze.

The wolves will have it surrounded.

- Only Kshin is agile enough to scale the walls,

light enough to travel to the top of the hedge.

- And has the hands to retrieve the antidote.

It will be very dangerous

out in the maze with the wolves.

Do you think you can do it?

- Sure, Mandrake. I'm a Defender!

- And a brave one, at that!

- No!

[panting]

Whew! Close call!

You should've seen me.

There were thousands of them, with big teeth and--

Hey! Where'd everyone go?

- The first in my collection of exotic creatures.

Hetman, there is one empty cage.

Where is the missing creature?

- He must be hiding upstairs, sir!

- Fetch him!

- It's only me, Kshin!

I've got the antidote, but Vlad--

he's captured everyone but you and me

and put them in cages.

- Sir, I cannot find the other creature.

- He must not escape!

Search the castle. He is in here somewhere.

[crowd shouting]

- What is that noise?

Hetman, come with me!

You have entered my domain,

and now you are mine!

[laughing]

Now, go to my castle

and destroy any humans you find there.

- Phantom! - Shh!

[wolves howling]

- Count Vlad has turned all the villagers

into howling wolves,

and they look hungry.

- Phantom, you've got to get us out of these cages.

- By Jungle Law, the Ghost Who Walks

calls forth the power of ten tigers!

- Oh, no!

I left the antidote on the ledge!

- No time for the antidote.

You stand a better chance fighting the wolves

in your animal form.

- Let's go!

- Attack!

Do not run, you cowards!

Attack! Attack!

- It's easy to act powerful and call others cowards!

- The one who escaped my master's potion!

You will feel the sting of power you won't forget!

- Now you will feel the power of the Phantom!
[ … ]

- Son, we've run out of wolves.

- Now it's just us and Count Vlad.

- How do we finish him?

- Sunlight!

- Mandrake, it's the middle of the night.

- With the lightbar from Rick's van!

- I've got the batteries.

- Rick isn't gonna go for this,

but we're gonna chop and channel his van!

- Jedda, you are still mine!

- Falcon One, this is Owl Control.

I have one bandit at one o'clock low.

- Owl Control, I roger that bat.

Weapons systems on standby.

- Falcon One, vector for attack!

- I have bat on visual. Am attacking!

- The antidote? Where is the antidote?

- I'll go get it.

- How come the villagers didn't need the antidote?

- Because they didn't drink the potion.

The potion makes the effects permanent.

- Aww. I was beginning to enjoy being a monkey.

- Now to find Count Vlad

and destroy him, once and for all!

- Let me, Dad!

- No!

The light!

No!

- Mister Harker, are you sure you're all right?

- Yes, Jedda.

Thanks to you and the Defenders of the Earth!

- Well, now that you've inherited the castle,

what are you gonna do with it?

- I've always wanted to run a resort.

I think Transylvania

is a terrific tourist attraction,

and the castle, well, it would be a wonderful hotel.

Will you all stay and be my first guests?

- We would be delighted, Jonathan!

- Okay, are we all ready to shove off?

Hey, where'd everyone go?

- We're not going back to Monitor, Flash!

Mister Harker invited us to stay for the weekend!

- Well, I'll be a monkey's uncle.

- You were, Flash. You were!
