Summer is here, which can mean only one thing --

welcome to the live season premiere of "Big Brother."

-It's a house like no other,

where cameras follow your every move and microphones

capture your every word.

This is the "Big Brother" House.

Tonight, complete strangers from across the country will

enter this house with one goal in mind --

to be the last one standing.

They will live in total confinement,

cut off from the outside world.

All summer long, they'll compete for safety and power.

Each week, they will vote to evict one of their own

until only one house guest remains to claim

the $, grand prize.

It all starts right now on "Big Brother"!

-Good evening, I'm Julie Chen Moonves.

Welcome to the live season premiere of "Big Brother."

Tonight, new HouseGuests begin the most outrageous

and challenging three months of their lives.

Behind me, the "Big Brother" house has been transformed into

the BB Motel, where these HouseGuests will move in

and compete in an over-the-top festival-themed summer that

we're calling BB Fest.

In the end, one house guest will be crowned the winner of

"Big Brother" and claim the $, prize.

But first, we can't get the summer started

until we meet our new HouseGuests.

Let's begin with the first four.

-Alright, Mom.

[ Singing indistinctly ]

Oh, no! Mom, no!

Are you serious?

-I'm literally going to "Big Brother."

-Whoo!

-Oh. [ Laughs ] Wait, wait. No.

-Yes, sir! -[ Screams ]

Oh, my gosh!

[ Engine revs ]

-My name is Jasmine Davis, and I'm a sweet tea sippin'

Southern belle from Terry, Mississippi.

-[ Cows mooing ] -It's empty.

Growing up on a farm, it's just a lot of hard work

and just really instilling in me a hard work ethic.

But also I think it gives me that sense of being able to

take care of myself.

Y'all are spoiled. That's what that is.

The true Jasmine is country girl Jasmine.

But I've relocated to Atlanta, Georgia.

I own my own press-on nail brand.

And I've been able to be featured in Vogueand Buzzfeed.

You can do it all.

You just got to set your mind to it and do it.

Last year was pretty difficult. My dad passed away.

My dad loved "Big Brother."

Before he passed away, he was literally like,

"You've got to get in that house,

and you've got to give 'em hell."

I feel like if my dad was here, he would be very proud of me.

And I'm definitely going to go in there and give them hell.

-I'm Kyle. I'm from Bountiful, Utah.

And I'm an entrepreneur, baby.

Making dancing videos with my mom,

which means I'm unemployed.

[ Laughs ]

I grew up in a very religious Mormon household,

and moving to college, I really just felt like

I needed to find myself.

So I'm not Mormon anymore.

Dad!

That affected my parents at the start.

But now our relationship is healthier

and stronger than ever.

See ya!

Now I live with my parents.

I tell girls that I'm dating that I have a basement apartment

and I have two elderly roommates that live upstairs.

[ Laughs ]

I think I'll excel at the physical competitions,

the endurance ones, the ones where you don't really have to

use your brain much.

Everything else, I might suck.

Showmances definitely put your game at risk.

So going into the house, I'm going to try to

avoid them at all costs, but let's be real,

if one develops, I'm not going to say no.

-Will you come back with a wife?

-I would rather have the k.

-I'm Paloma. I'm years old, from San Diego, California.

Most people perceive me as just a girl who runs on the beach

and looks cute and takes a lot of cute photos

for social media.

-[ Camera shutter clicks ] -Whoo!

But I think people are surprised when they get to know me

because I'm very ambitious.

I went to the University of California Berkeley.

I'm very business and career oriented.

I just got my real estate license,

and I'm also an interior designer.

You want to make people trust you.

That's what sales is, and I'm your gal.

Let's get this project done.

-I'm a Greexican.

I'm a Latina, and I also have family from Greece.

-Little Greek, little Mexican. What are you feeling like?

-Both.

Yes, I'm single.

-I want to hear about the guy you went out with

-I was like talking to a wall.

In the house, it's all about relationships.

So, yeah, maybe I'll flirt a little.

Mayonnaise is my boyfriend. [ Laughs ]

I'm ready to go in there and absolutely dominate.

-I'm Monte, and I'm a personal fitness coach.

I got into fitness during the pandemic.

I just found a passion for the steel, man.

I do have my degree in mechanical engineering.

But it wasn't the fit my personality

to sit behind a desk.

Being half Puerto Rican, I love salsa dancing.

My mom has always taught it to me growing up.

She's my number one fan.

You are about to be challenged mentally, physically,

and let's not forget, socially.

One thing is for certain, it is going to be the craziest

and most action-packed three months of your lives.

And the game starts the second you walk through

that front door.

Okay, inside the house are four stations that contain tickets

to the hottest festival of the summer, The BB Fest.

Upon entering the house, you will find a station

and grab a ticket.

As a little girl that grew up on a farm,

washing mist off of eggs, like, never in a million years

would I think I would be here.

I'm like super freakin' excited.

Now, HouseGuests, here is how this will work.

As you can see, there are three festival hotspots

in the backyard -- the Porta Potties,

the piercing tent, and the merch stand.

Your ticket will give you access to one of these locations

where a competition awaits.

One at a time, you will scan your ticket to find out where

you'll be competing.

Once all HouseGuests have arrived, the games will begin.

But keep an eye out because one ticket will make

its holder the Backstage Boss.

And I'll tell you what that means later on.

And I work in the beauty industry.

I am a customer service rep for a swimwear brand.

I'm also a marketing rep for a plastic surgeon's office.

I'm not just a pretty face.

I'm always writing poetry and expressing myself through words.

"My love is water, it'll comfort you.

My love is water, take a sip."

I'm a fun, outgoing person, but I do have that quiet,

introvert side, and do I use that through poetry.

"Big Brother" was a huge part of my life growing up.

We always played "Big Brother" games.

We would like line up on a fence, and my mom would

spray us with a hose to see who could last the longest.

And be like, "You need to prepare for when you're on

'Big Brother' one day."

My family is so excited for me.

This is seriously a dream come true.

My strategy is to kind of befriend everyone

on like a personal level.

But in reality, I'm not afraid to make big moves.

If I'm H.O.H., I will happily show you the back door.

-My name's Daniel, and I'm a professional

Elvis tribute artist.

I absolutely love my career.

I can't believe I get to do this for a living.

And when I meet the people after the show,

it kind of reminds me why I do what I do.

Growing up, I was surrounded by every style music

you can imagine -- marching bands, jazz bands, punk bands,

then I got into Broadway musical theater stuff.

So I can adapt to any person and any surrounding in my life.

And I'm gonna do the same inside the house.

I'm excited to be on "Big Brother" because

I've been a fan since day one, I'm obsessed.

I'm the type of person that watches the live feeds

till : a.m.

But I'm never going to say I'm a super fan.

I'll "lay low" while winning.

-My name is Taylor. I'm a personal stylist.

The biggest sale I ever had is when I sold a suit

I have to be comfortable working with powerful men because

confidence and your dominance.

I never thought I would be a beauty queen,

but five years ago, I just caught Miss Universe

on TV and I just knew I had to get in the game.

that's in my hair, but whether it's a pageant

or if I'm on the tennis courts, I'm here to compete to win.

from Rochester, Minnesota.

When I meet a new client for the first time,

I feel like people are looking at me like,

"My life is in his hands?

How old are you? When did you graduate from law school?

But I'm a member of Mensa, so I'm a certified genius.

If there's anyone you're going to trust, it should be me.

I've been with my fiancé for four years.

And we got engaged last fall.

We both love "Big Brother."

I've been watching the show since I was years old.

I compiled a book, I call it my "Big Brother" Bible.

I would love to win the first H.O.H.

I'm a private chef on yachts and on private estates.

I am totally a proud l*sbian woman.

I have a lot of feminine energy,

and I have a lot of masculine energy.

And I think I get along very well with both men and women.

-Before I became a chef, I was a police officer for years.

That definitely molded me into

being a very strong-willed person.

I started going to culinary school while

I was a police officer, and I fell in love with it.

Switching careers was one of the biggest risks

I ever took in my life.

Me and my mom have been watching "Big Brother"

since season together.

She's the most important person in my life.

When she was diagnosed with cancer,

I didn't know how to react.

She's the strongest, most amazing human being.

Obviously we have some things on the horizon

with recovery from her cancer, but nothing will keep her down.

I know that I'm going to win "Big Brother",

and I want to make her proud.

-My name is Turner. I'm an artist.

And I own my own thrift store.

Welcome to The Rug Shack.

Before owning my own thrift store, I was actually living

in a van, doing van life, touring the country,

getting to wake up in National Parks, at monuments

every single day.

It was probably one of the funnest times of my life.

I actually am a rug artist, better known as a rug tufter.

Every day, I basically come into the shop

and just really make whatever design I have that day.

I even have a "Big Brother" CBS rug 'cause I'm such a big fan.

We're gonna start aligning all of your chakras now,

get the energy flowing.

I have a super hippie upbringing.

I remember my mom as I was growing up would always

want to gather us together and align our chakras.

It was definitely a unique way to grow up,

but I had a lot of fun with it.

Fantastic. Good job, Dad.

I think being able to adapt into any environment, I think that

just plays into being a k*ller in

the "Big Brother" house, and I don't even think

there's a doubt that I'm gonna with "Big Brother."

-I'm Joseph. I'm from sunny south Florida.

And I'm a lawyer and personal trainer.

I work out every single day.

Exercise is a huge part of my life.

It's /, no days off, even on holidays.

When people first see me they assume I'm brawn, no brains,

not much to me other than the muscles.

But I'm being trained as an attorney.

I wanted to become a lawyer because my father was practicing

law in the Middle East.

He was unable to continue to do so.

He came here, I was born, adopted that dream,

and here we are today.

I just can't wait to get at it and start practicing law.

I don't know what I'm gonna do

without all this Middle Eastern food.

'Cause we all know I can't make it.

My heritage is extremely important to me.

I'm Syrian and Palestinian.

So I would love to go out there and be representative for other

people similar to myself.

-I definitely have been told that I'm a flirt.

I am not searching for romance, but if it comes my way,

it's gonna be hard to turn it away.

I think I'm someone "Big Brother" has never

really seen before.

I'm going to be a unique aspect and take advantage of it

in Chicago, Illinois.

The best part of my job is actually meeting new people.

They'll tell me their whole life story.

I get off work at :, and I turn into a DJ Showtime,

one of the hottest karaoke deejays in Chicago.

When you're coming to see DJ Showtime,

I met my wife at a karaoke spot, and I had to walk over to her.

And I was like, "I got to get to know you."

And then after that, I walked her right down the aisle.

And now I have four amazing kids.

I've watched it for so long with my family.

I fly celebrities and high level people all the time.

It's kind of tough, but I got it.

I am from Brazil.

I moved here when I was . Now I'm .

I did grow up in a really poor community.

And that's why I decided to move to America and give myself

a better life.

I'm a super fan of "Big Brother" Brazil.

And the USA Edition, I'm literally addicted.

I believe my social skills are gonna help me to avoid

being a target.

I'm fun, I like to cook, I'm funny.

I'm not really funny in English,

but I'm super funny in Portuguese, I promise.

I'm sure that I'm gonna be vocal in the house,

even if I try to keep my mouth shut.

I grew up with a single mother. She had me when she was .

So me and my family struggled together for my whole life.

It was hard to get here, but I think that's why I'm so strong.

When I walk into the "Big Brother" house,

two of your house mates for eviction.

Now, as everyone can see, Pooch did not join any group,

and that is because he found the Backstage Boss ticket.

Pooch, as the Backstage Boss, you will not be competing

in any competitions tonight.

of the summer.

And we're starting at the Porta Potties.

Paloma, Jasmine, Monte, Kyle, and Nicole,

I hope you're all comfortable.

This competition is called Potty Talk,

and here's how it works.

In each round, you'll hear a group of festival goers

talking outside of the Porta Potties.

Contained within each of these conversations are the words

"one," "two," and "three."

Your goal is to identify which number was said the most times

during the conversations.

Once the conversation begins,

you can lock in your answer at any time by hitting

an answer button in front of you.

Once everyone has given an answer,

I will reveal the results.

The first person who answers incorrectly will be eliminated.

If you all answer correctly, then the last person to lock in

their answer will be eliminated.

This will continue for four rounds

until only one of you remains.

The illustration on your table tells you where on your face

the jewelry needs to be placed.
