- Who's knocking? - I'm trying to sleep here!

- There she is! - Ah!

Clawdeen, the Full Moon Queen!

- [yawns] I can't believe

I let you talk me into getting up early for this.

- [gasps] - What is with all the ruckus?

The sun hasn't even set yet!

- Seriously, Toralei?

Did you forget what tonight is?

both: Full moon, full moon! [both howling]

- What are you two so excited about?

Clawdeen gets to go human whenever

because of the moon claw,

but it's not like the rest of us teenagers

have gotten our transformation yet.

- About that-- - I've been transforming

for months.

- Oh, um, I got my transformation too,

but it's, like, so embarrassing to look human,

I didn't want anyone to know.

Uh, speaking of, better go to my room,

so you don't see me so humany and gross, right?

[laughs] Meow!

- Come on, but I don't know why

you're so into going into the human world.

Humans aren't that great.

All the human kids I went to school with

were totally judgy.

Plus, if any human finds out we're monsters,

they'll take pictures of us, post them everywhere,

and absolutely ruin our lives.

Humans and monsters can't coexist.

So why don't we just enjoy the full moon here?

- Or we could have fun tonight.

I wanna rock my human form in the human world.

- [squeals] And I really, really wanna try

my human skateboard tricks in my human form

in the human world!

both: Please?

Please, please, please?

- [groans] Can't resist the puppy dog eyes.

Fine, I'll take you, but we need to be careful.

[mysterious music]

♪ ♪

- Bring on my super slick skin.

- [laughs] Look, Clawdeen.

Fingers that snap!

[grunting]

Aw, furballs.

I thought this would be easier without claws.

- It's tour time.

- I've been to Scar-is and Boo York,

but this is my first time through the Shadow of Secrecy.

[gasps] Love a trip where I don't need my luggage.

- This is so cool!

- Hey, Howleen, take a picture of me having earlobes!

[magical bubbling]

- [gasps] - The school was just there.

Now it's not. Whoa.

Say "cheese," invisible school.

- Come on, and remember, keep a low profile.

- Yeah! [laughs] - [cheering]

- Yeah, yeah! - Whoo-hoo!

There's so much to see.

- [yowls]

- And hear and smell! [gasps]

Or should I say not smell?

Thanks to the weaker noses.

Check this out. [sniffs]

I can't even smell that diaper.

- There are so many human skateboard tricks to try!

- What are human skateboard tricks?

- Well, they're just like werewolf skateboard tricks,

but you do them while human.

Like this. [grunts]

[upbeat music]

[laughs]

♪ ♪

- Dude. - Dude!

- Dude! - Dude.

- Dude. - What a riveting conversation.

- Hey, I'm doin' a full moon skate

in the cemetery later.

You should totally come.

- Whoa. Sounds rad.

I'll see ya there.

Did you hear that? I've been invited

to do human skateboard tricks with a real human!

Am I doing human smiling?

I feel like I'm doing major human smiling.

- No way are you going skateboarding with Buddy.

- Aww, Clawdeen.

You made him do a human frowning.

- Buddy? That's his name?

Well, Buddy seems nice.

- He's not. I went to school with him.

He's a monster hunter.

If he finds out that we're monsters,

he will for sure expose our secret.

- Oh, come on.

How would he ever find out we're monsters?

[gasps]

That's never happened before.

The human form is more temperamental than I expected.

- Oh, fine!

I'll just do my human skateboard tricks

on my own, like this one.

Kickflip!

Whoa! Whoa!

[spits]

Don't worry!

I caught myself on my human butt.

Ooh, so cushy.

- All right, tourists, our next stop,

feast your eyes upon Oak Avenue.

Here, you've got houses... - [gasps]

- Yards... - [gasps]

- Sidewalks. [both gasping]

- What in the human world is that?

- That's just a mailbox.

Humans don't have delivery dragons,

so they use these boxes to send mail to each other,

mostly bills and junk mail.

- [gasps] "% off toothpaste"? Lucky.

- And birthday cards from grandmas

and letters to "pen pal."

This is so sweet. Is that the word?

- I guess it's kind of a sweet thing

humans do for each other.

- I bet Buddy is a pen pal kind of guy.

- Not gonna happen, Barkimedes.

- Uh-oh, cloud incoming.

- And person incoming!

Hide! - [gasps] Clawdeen?

Is that really you?

I hear you were going to some boarding school now.

- Uh, yeah, it's a special program.

- Lucky!

I always wanted to go to boarding school.

Uh, what are you doing out so late?

- I was just sending a birthday card to my grandma.

- Ugh, these leaves make my human skin itchy.

- Shh! - A talking birthday card.

- Cool. Well, see you around.

[frog croaking]

- Oh, that was close.

Now before anyone sees two werewolves running around--

- We should get back to finishing the tour?

Please?

- All right, fine.

But one of these days, I'm gonna learn how

to defend myself against puppy dog eyes.

[wolf howling]

Next stop on the tour,

this is a human restaurant.

- And check it out!

Random toys!

- Oh, guess the restaurant is doing a toy drive.

That's where humans donate toys to other humans in need.

- Humans just give toys away?

Mind blown.

- Wow, humans sound awesome.

Maybe we should skateboard with one tonight to learn--

whoa, oh!

- Barkimedes, I told you, Buddy is a monster hunter.

- Okay, but didn't you hunt monsters?

- Not exactly.

I researched them, thought about them,

aggressively looked for them, uh--

uh, do you wanna spend your time here

asking silly questions or enjoying the tour?

- Cloudy trouble coming up.

- Hide!

- I'm not usually that into shopping,

but shopping for others is cool.

- [clears throat, sniffs]

- [gasps]

[wolf howling]

- And the last stop on our tour is my house.

The coolest human I know lives here, my dad.

- Hi, sweetie-pups.

And you must be Howleen and Barkimedes.

- Hi, father of Clawdeen.

Why is your trash so many colors?

- Oh, these are recycling bins.

There aren't garbage goblins to sort trash in our world,

so we recycle in different colored bins

to keep the Earth clean and make it

a better place to live.

- Whoa!

- [laughs] If you like that,

wait till you see my compost bin.

I'll be right back with it. - Wow.

Humans are really caring.

- Uh, it's not that big of a deal.

- I bet I know a human that recycles.

- [gasps] Ralph! - Ralph?

No, he meant Buddy.

Did you really not get that?

- No, Ralph is coming.

I bet he's monster hunting.

And you two are monsters!

What is with the clouds tonight? Hide!

- Ah, the full moon, the perfect night

to find a ravenous, dangerous, slobbering werewolf.

Hey, Clawdeen! - [gasps]

- How are you on this lovely moonlit night?

- Oh, fine, just taking the trash out.

[both coughing]

- Figures I've got my werewolf nose

when I'm sitting in filth.

Ugh. - Well, ha,

better keep takin' it farther out.

Bye! - Bye!

Oh, let me know if you see any puddles of slobber.

It could be evidence of werewolves.

- Slobber?

I don't slobber.

[wolf howls, coughs]

Coast is clear, but that was way too close for comfort.

It's time we get back to Monster High

and no amount of puppy dog eyes is gonna convince me otherwise.

Let's go, Howleen and Barkimedes.

Where's Barkimedes?

- There! both: Ah!

[upbeat music]

- [laughs]

- I told him to stay away from Buddy.

Uh-oh. Uh, Barkimedes, look out!

- Ugh, he can't hear us

because he's trying too hard to look cool.

- Ooh, I gotta get this for my channel.

- Buddy is filming everything.

Barkimedes is about to get caught!

We have to save him!

No!

- [gasps] Whoa!

- No!

- Dude, monsters!

You--you-- you're a monster dude!

- I told you.

Now Buddy's gonna post about our secret and tell everyone.

They'll try to destroy monsters.

- Buddy's not like that.

- Humans might do some good things,

like donating toys

and sending cards and recycling,

but they'll never accept monsters.

- Here. Delete the video.

- Really?

But won't you need it to prove to the world

you caught a monster?

- I'd never want to expose a friend's secret.

That's not what friends do.

- I thought you were a monster hunter.

- Raine, Blair, and I used to do some monster stuff,

but it was more Blair's thing.

Most of the time, I'd rather be skateboarding.

Don't worry, Barky.

[whispering] Your secret is safe with me.

- Dude. - Dude.

- I'm sorry I misjudged you, Buddy.

Humans and monsters have more in common

than I thought, and neither should be judged

by what some of them do.

- Aww, thanks, Clawdeen.

Well, I gotta get home before curfew.

Will I see ya next month, Barky?

- You know it.

See ya! - Bye, Buddy!

- Thanks for not ruining our lives.

[soft music]

- I can't believe I have a new human pen pal.

- And I can't believe I have a new human mailbox.

- Where did you get that? Uh, never mind.

You know, I was wrong about humans.

Maybe the monster and human worlds could live

in harmony someday.

- I hope so.

Until then, is a -page letter too short

to send to a new pen pal?

It should probably be pages, right?

[iCoffin chimes]

- Toralei? - Oops, wrong contact.

I was just sitting here in my human form.

[gasps] Oh, no!

Terrible filter! Meow! [groans]

[eerie percussive music]

[laughter]

- What a wet and wild day.

First I hung out with Senor Squeaky.

Now lunch and gaming with you.

And later, I'm going to work on my graphic novel.

- You drew this?

So cool.

- Ever since we made that movie,

I've gotten very into creating.

And graphic novels are a k*ller way to combine

my art and my words.

It really helps me to manage all those jumpy feelings

if I get--

who is that?

- Some new kid, I guess.

- Thanks so much for helping a new bro out with this tour.

I really appreciate it.

[gasps]

- Polite, thoughtful, handsome as a tiger shark.

He's just like the boy of my dreams from my movie.

- [gasps]

Abandoning your drawings and me for some rando?

Totally not cool, Lagoona!

- [panting]

- And Duke will show you the dorms

while I snag us some dessert.

- Dude, you're gonna love it.

They set you up with your own freshwater tank.

- A freshwater monster?

We're like Boneo and Crueliette.

Born to different worlds that are keeping us apart,

but destined to be together forever.

- Hey, Lagoona.

Chocolate chip spooky?

I was gonna bring some to Gil,

but I'm sure he's-- - Gil?

That is the name of my soul mate?

- Uh, I don't know your soul mate.

But it's the name of the new kid.

- Gil, he with whom I shall go out, fall in love,

and together, we'll terrorize the seas forever.

- Uh, maybe before you plan the rest of your lives,

I should introduce you.

Come on. - No, nuh-uh.

Negativo.

Soul mates are not introduced.

Just like in my stories, we must have a meet cute

in which I'll sweep this Gil off his fins

with my impressive--

I'm not quite sure how.

But I will find the thing that will impress him,

and I will do that.

- Or instead of doing that,

wouldn't it be better for him to get to know the real you?

See what you have in common,

like swimming or drawing or maybe--

- It will be just like something out of

one of my terror novelas.

Hmm.

How did Lady Ghostalin impress the suave Duke of Ghostsher?

Yes, I shall dance my way into his heart.

Ah.

[gasps]

[soft music]

Ah!

- Hey, did something get on me?

Oh, what's back there?

- Isaboola Smarts impressed Scary Kerry.

Ooh, ooh, the most infamous vampires in history

were Buddy Arbuckle, Bloody Do-Right, Fanny McGee,

the Sock Sisters, Mr. Sanguinaria, Marceline,

and of course, Dracula.

I can also give you each one's batting average if you--[gasps]

Dexterity is always impressive.

And saw Gil heading this way.

Ah.

In romance stories, the undertow pulls hardest

right before it all works out.

So these setbacks just mean that I'm that much closer

to things all working out.

But how?

- I'm Coach Klopman.

You must be Gil. - Yeah.

Is it cool for me to hang out here?

- Absolutely.

Feel free to grab a seat on the bleachers

during casketball practice,

though it might be a bit loud out here.

We're working on our scream throws.

- No worries about the screams.

Casketball players are way impressive.

Totally washes me away.

- That's how I will impress him.

- Well, don't miss our scream throw competition tomorrow.

Oh, Lagoona, you're early for practice.

- Uh, yes, early, that's me.

I will just stand here, being early,

staring off in no particular direction.

[whirring]

- Yeah!

- Awesome!

Way to sink it, Burns.

Don't anticipate the scream.

- Hi, Coach Klopman. [whistle blasts]

- Time out.

While you take a breather and get a gulp,

I want to introduce our scorekeeper

for the tourney, Frankie.

Action happens fast with scream throws.

And they'll make sure all your points get counted.

- Mathematician brain bits are geared up

and ready to calculate.

- Ugh.

And while you're here, could you recharge

this zappuchino that lost its spark?

- Oh, sure thing, Clawdeen.

- Ooh, yeah.

Now, that's a zap. - [laughs]

How about this pose for my scream throw

champ photo?

- Oh, less pose practicing

and more throw practicing, Deuce.

- Yeah, Ghoulia is gonna beat us all.

Her screen throw skills are fire.

- The competition is fierce.

We all want to win.

- Winning the competition and winning the heart

of a special monster.

If I can just get him to look up.

[laughter]

- Whoo-hoo!

[sighs]

[gasps]

Hmm! - Whoa!

[groans]

- Yeah!

[grunting]

Whoo-hoo!

Ah!

[gasps]

Argh!

[grunts]

[dramatic music]

- [gasps]

- Ah!

[grunts]

[all cheering]

[laughter]

- [groans]

- And that brings Lagoona to points.

- I must sit or maybe lie down.

I'm crashing like a tidal wave.

So is this iCoffin.

Better charge it up.

- [gasps] That's it.

Frankie, what if you gave me a little boost,

a little jolt like you gave your iCoffin

or Claudine's zappuchino?

- Uh, is that a good idea,

mixing sea monsters and electricity?

- Electric eels are water creatures

and they do just fine with electricity.

Come on, Frankie.

I must stand out to impress Gil.

- Okay.

But only this one time.

Who knows what too many zaps could do to someone.

- Amazing!

Ooh!

[choir singing]

- Voltageous.

You're literally glowing.

Literally. - Ah!

[panting]

Rah! Rah!

[grunting]

- What?

- Ha! Ah!

Rah! Whoo!

Ha. Ha.

Ahh! Ahh! [laughs]

Ha! Ha!

- , for Lagoona.

Oh, make that ,, or .

- Yes. Yes.

So many caskets.

So many points.

So impressive, right?

[choir singing]

[squeals] It's working!

We're going to get together.

I know it!

[sighs]

- [yawns] You called?

In the middle of the day?

- Yes.

I need more zap so I can keep practicing.

And then the cutest of meets will happen tonight.

- I know I haven't read as many romance books as you...

- No one has.

- But pretty sure that if you can't

be yourself to impress someone,

then they're not the one for you.

- Maybe.

But he'll never get to know the real me

if I don't impress him first.

Please, Frankie. One little zap.

[tense music]

[whistle blasts]

- Let's start the competition.

[all cheering]

- Huh? [grunts]

- [snoring]

- Lagoona! - I'm up. I'm up.

Oh. The zap must have worn off.

Is it starting already?

- Are you okay?

You don't look okay.

- I will be okay with another little boost.

- What? Again?

- Please?

- Isn't there anything in your romance books

about hanging out, getting to know each other

while being yourself?

- Yesterday he smiled at me.

And it brought me a whale-size helping

of hope for all that could be.

I must impress him tonight.

[laughs] Whoo!

- Oh!

- Duck!

- Oh!

- Whoa!

- Ah! - Oh!

- Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha!

- Ah!

Gotta go dry off.

[thuds]

[panting]

[gasps]

[all gasping]

Coach, this is not who I am.

I do not hurt my teammates or the fans of our sport.

I'm sorry I let it go this far.

I'm taking myself out of the tournament.

[somber music]

Frankie, I'm so sorry.

I shouldn't have asked you to give me that zap.

And I shouldn't have done all that to impress Gil.

- Apology accepted.

And you know, those of us who really like you,

like you for you, Lagoona.

- Thank you.

And that's what I want from any potential

significant monster too.

One cannot be truly like-liked

if they are not being truly themselves.

- Totally.

both: Aw.

- So now what?

- I've got some big feelings to process.

And I shall do this the best way I know how.

[upbeat music]

- Sorry to interrupt.

But are you working on a graphic novel?

- Oh, yes.

I'm Lagoona.

And I love graphic novels.

I've downloaded a ton of them on my phone.

I'm practically swimming in them.

I especially like "The Great Goblin Girl Adventures."

How about you? - Oh, they're--

actually, "Great Goblin Girl" is not for me.

Ghoulia loves those.

But me, I mostly read romance.

- That's cool too.

Whoa! [grunts]

- Oh, sorry.

Travel by pipes can be messy.

- I had no idea we could use the pipes to get around.

Deuce and Frankie's tour didn't include that.

- Oh, yeah.

Water folks, both sea and freshwater,

have pipe travel in common.

I could show you the ropes-- or pipes.

[laughs] - Cool.

Hey, race you to the other side of the campus?

I mean, just for fun.

Not like I'm trying to impress you

with how fast I am or anything.
