I can't wait to hear what this
super special sleepover mission is about.

Me too! Ada was being so mysterious
about it over the walkie-talkies.

so secretive about it?

to a top-secret sleepover, Ada? [gasps]

[gasps] Or did you finally crack the code
of time travel?

[laughs] I love all your theories.
But the real mission is even cooler.

Like, the one
that sent astronauts to the moon

and wants to send humans to Mars?

Yup. NASA thinks
there might be a ninth planet

on the edge of our solar system,
and they've asked us to help find it.

-A ninth planet?
-For real?

-Us?
-Uh-huh.

I thought you'd be into it
since you like space as much as I do.

I love space.
I mean, just check out Jupiter.

It's the biggest gas giant
in the solar system.

And gassy giants are hilarious.

[burps]

And kind of smelly.

And how can you not love Saturn?

The rings are magnificent!
They've inspired a lot of my designs.

Well, Earth is my number one planet.
But my second's Pluto.

-Um, Benny…
-[Iggy] Hmm…

…sorry to tell you this,

but Pluto's not considered
a real planet anymore.

I know. But I like
to root for the underdog.

What's your favorite planet, Ada?

I think they're all fascinating,

but if we find Planet Nine,
I think that'll be my favorite.

I can't believe
NASA wants us to look for it.

I knew they'd recognize
our genius one day.

Well, technically
it's a community science project,

which means anyone can work on it.

Community science? What's that?

It's when lots of people
who love science, like us,

gather data
to help professional scientists.

NASA asks people to tell 'em when they see
things like Northern Lights and meteors.

And search for planets like Planet Nine.

-Teamwork!

Even if NASA didn't choose us,

it's still cool to work
on a mission for them.

Yeah, and we might be
the youngest kids ever

to discover a new planet.

It would be awesomesauce
to find a new planet.

You know how much I love space stuff.

as winning an Olympic medal in tennis.

All I see are a bunch of dots.

I'm pretty sure those are stars.

This is out of this world. Literally.

I still can't believe we're looking
at photos from a real NASA telescope.

Yep. And if any of the stars look
a lot brighter than the others,

or if one moves
from one picture to the next,

that might mean it's a planet.

[Ada] Hmm…

[sighs]

-[Ada] Hmm.
-[sighs]

Ugh! I thought planet hunting would
be more exciting than this.

Feels like I'm wearing
my adventure hat for nothing.

-Sometimes big discoveries take time.
-Yeah.

But Arthur and Ruben could
find the planet first

and name it something boring, like…

-Planet Tennis.
-[all] Hmm.

Maybe we can
think of a faster way to do this.

to search space in person?

That would be a blast.

But exploring space
would take a long time.

I don't wanna miss
the rest of elementary school.

Then we could ask aliens
where Planet Nine is.

Greetings, aliens.
[in robotic voice] Beep, bop, blorg. Over.

I don't know. According to Comet Quest,

aliens don't like to tell humans
where to find new planets.

Ugh, phooey!

Aliens are so secretive.

Ooh! We can make a supercomputer

that looks through
the telescope images really fast.

We could call it… the Supersonic Searcher.

[robotic voice] No planet. Nope.
Negative. No go.

Only one problem.

I read that eyes are still
better for this stuff than computers

'cause our brains can
catch things machines can't.

Is that why NASA asks people
to look at the photos?

Yup. But your idea inspired me, Benny B.

Maybe we just need to make
our human eyes even more powerful

with super strong space binoculars.

But isn't that just a telescope?

[giggles] Oh, yeah. You're right.

That's it, then. We'll build a telescope
and search outside.

Then we'll definitely
beat Arthur and Ruben to Planet Nine.

[all] Yeah!

to name the planet after them.

[giggles] Guess so. But it won't matter
unless we find it.

-Come on. Let's search the sky.

[yawns] We've been
searching the sky forever.

I don't know if
we'll ever find Planet Nine.

So, we built
a super cool telescope for nothing?

[sighs] System fail.

Guess we won't be
the youngest kids to find a new planet.

The worst part is, we let NASA down.

We tried so hard to collect
important data to help astronomers,

-and we couldn't.

[all sigh]

Planet hunting must be tiring.

Looks like you guys
could use a pick-me-up.

Wow. I've never seen
stuff in the sky look this huge.

-[laughs]

Whoa! This is interstellar.
I can see Saturn's rings super clear.

Wait, you can?

Yeah. And tons of
other far-out space stuff too.

You guys are right.

I can see Omega Centauri,

the largest star cluster
in our Milky Way galaxy.

Ooh! And I've got eyes
on our neighbor galaxy, Andromeda.

-Nice.
-Cool!

Oh, gosh, wow. Ruben wasn't kidding.

I can see the rings of Saturn so clear.

They're beautiful.

[Rosie] O-M-Jupiter!

My fave planet's looking
extra giant and gassy tonight.

-[all laugh]
-We were so focused on finding Planet Nine

that we didn't notice
all the other amazing stuff

we could see through our telescope.

Yeah. You kids actually made
something pretty cool.

Maybe next time we could
hunt for a new planet together?

-Absolutely.
-Sure thing.

[Benny ]Interstellar!

You know what, Twist?

I think Planet Amari sounds like
a bright, handsome planet.

Well, Planet Aisha sounds like
the prettiest planet in the galaxy.

[gasps] Look!

[all exclaiming in amazement]

-Would you look at that?
-Insane in the mainframe.

To the telescope!

Yes! Got a photo.

[gasps] Success!

-[Benny] Cool!
-[Ruben] No way!

That's a meteor.

A hunk of space rock that becomes
a fireball when it enters our atmosphere.

-Know what this means?
-Nope.

NASA asks community scientists
to share photos of meteors too.

So, we can still send them important data.

-Cool!
-Best night ever!

Next time we look through this telescope,
maybe we'll find a new planet.

Uh, doy!

Remember, big discoveries can take time.

But for now, my tummy wants to
discover those moon melon ba*ls.

Mine wants to discover
Black Hole Brownies.

-I want some Comet Cocoa.
-Me too.
