to bark and do a trick

These are ingredients
my mum uses to make Poppy's Party Pot,

a delicious soup
that feeds a gazillion people.

Great observation,
but I don't think dough goes in soup.

plus cheese, plus veggies, equals--

Pizza!

You've got stuff for approximately…
a ton of pizzas!

A place that gives meals to people
who don't have food or who need it.

Mum makes dinner once a month.
Our community looks out for each other.

Got it. We use dragon breath
to cook the pizzas.

I've always wanted
to study a dragon up close.

But dragon breath smells
and can stink up the pizzas.

Ew!

How about we fly to Hawaii and wait
for the Mauna Loa volcano to erupt?

We can use the hot lava to cook.
It's the largest active volcano on Earth.

Just one problem.

That volcano hasn't erupted
in over 35 years.

-We don't know how long we'd have to wait.
-Aw.

We use a giant magnifying glass
to use the sun's heat to cook the pizzas.

are hard to control.

The heat beam could miss
and slice through your house.

Oops.

We use the heat from the sun
to make a solar oven.

Solar energy is better for the planet.
There's tons of sun today.

Wait. You guys think the sun is
powerful enough to cook food?

-Way! I'm a nerd for all things sunshine.

-I know a girl who made a solar oven.
-I'm that girl.

I made one at camp
and had marshmallows for days.

What do we need?

It's easy. Aluminium foil, plastic wrap,
newspaper, and two different-sized boxes.

Amazing.

I don't get how this thing
is supposed to cook anything.

This plastic window
lets sunlight into the box.

There's black construction paper.
Black soaks up heat.

That makes the air in the box really hot.

Foil helps send
the sun's rays to the food.

The newspaper helps trap the heat inside,
so it can make sun-sational pizza.

Bad news. A power line's down,
so we'll have no power until tomorrow.

That's okay. We'll bake
the pizzas in a solar oven.

I've eaten a lot of pizzas in my day,

and that does not look ready.

The dough isn't golden brown.
It's not done.

We can't serve half-cooked pizza.

I guess cooking with the sun was
just a beautiful, impossible dream.

But the sun can cook food. I've seen it.

So, why didn't it work this time?

I'm stumped. The heat from the sun
should have cooked the pizza.

Way lower than pizza needs.

No way we'll make them all
