Hello, one and all!

Welcome back to another thrilling
episode of Dimension 20!

I'm your humble dungeon
master, Brennan Lee Mulligan

with me as always are our intrepid heroes.

Say, hi, intrepid heroes.

- [Players] Hi, intrepid heroes.

- Last we left off, deep within
the oceans of the Never...

A soft little touch.
- She's just like, hi.

- You two came in separate cars, right?

(Siobhan laughs)
- Yeah.

We're fighting. We just made up just then.

- Just hearing Brennan's
voice made me realize that

I want to recommit my marriage.
- We think we're gonna make it now.

- You bought a new car just
so you could drive separately?

- Yeah, yeah.
- That's really insane.

- [Brennan] Something about being
in this dome. - My hands are cold.

- Something about me screaming gibberish

makes people realize what
matters most to them.

(Ally laughing)

- It's you, and I'll never let you go!

(cast laughing)

- Last we left off, our intrepid heroes

were deep within the
oceans of the Neverafter

plumbing the depths of Toy
Island, the old stomping grounds

of the boy of destiny
himself, Master Pinocchio.

- Everything's the same.
- [Brennan] Everything-

- Mostly.
- [Brennan] Mostly!

- The hotdogs are still great.
- Hotdogs are still great,

and we met our old pal, Candlewick.

- No, he clubbed me.
- [Ally] Candlewick.

We put you away. We put you down.

- [Emily] Is Candlewick
on the b*ttlefield?

- [Lou] No, Candlewick,

I sucked him into my book.
- No, he's in the book.

- Oh.
- Yes, yes.

Candlewick is back in your book.

- [Zac] Good.

- Now I'm realizing we shoulda kept him.

You know, it would be weird.

It would have been a weird scene,

but if we had kept Candlewick here.

- If we had kept him,
he'd have clubbed him.

- He would have just clubbed me again.

(Emily laughs)
- We should just...

If push comes to shove, open
up the book, let him out.

- I don't have Second Wind in this fight

because of Candlewick.
- Like a Pokémon ball.

(cast laughing)
f*ck!

- [Murph] And you.

- [Brennan] Perfect.
- He hit me for like 15 HP.

- He wanted some frog meat.
- [Ally] Oh my God.

- He was invisible-
- [Murph] Yeah.

- We met our old pal Candlewick.

We also heard Candlewick
reference the Quiet Pirate,

who we have just now met and is actually

the Princess Mira of the Merfolk Realm,

though she has legs at this
moment, a Little Mermaid.

By the way, once again,
from Rick Perry and crew,

look at this amazing.
(Ally cheers)

- [Emily] Listen, I know we're gonna get

our a*s kicked here.
- [Ally] This is so sick.

- [Emily] But I wanna live here.

- [Ally] Yeah, yeah!

- [Brennan] Even as dilapidated
and f*cked up as it is,

there's something about,

what are the different
buildings we have here?

- [Lou] There's Bart's
Funnel Cake and Cigars.

- [Siobhan] Bart's Funnel Cake and Cigars.

- [Murph] Slappy's
Bubblegum and Whiskey Hut.

- [Siobhan] This one just says "Circus."
- [Emily] Tim will be running

and then just spending the whole thing...

- [Zac] What's this one say?
- [Brennan] That one is-

- [Siobhan] Bart's Funnel Cake and Cigars.

- [Ally] Against the wind.

- [Siobhan] And then this one
says like, Peanut and Pies?

- [Brennan] Yeah.
- [Siobhan] P'nit 'n' Pies?

- [Ally] Peanut 'n' Pies.

- Just all the combinations
of like, really chewy things

with things you have to drink is...

- Yes.
(Ally laughing)

Everybody's already so dehydrated,

and the only water is salty.

- If you had to eat at
one of these places,

which place would you go?

- Funnel Cake.
- Funnel Cake and Cigars.

That actually sounds pretty-

- [Murph] Funnel Cake and Cigars.

- Like a nice morning.
- [Emily] Yeah.

- [Brennan] Yeah.
- [Murph] don't have a cigar,

but just smell the cigars.
- I think I would go

Peanut and Pies, I love a pie.
- See, I think it's clear

no one's been here before except for me

'cause you know it's
Bubblegum and Whiskey.

(cast laughing)

- [Ally] The nastiest sounding thing.

- That's where I'd end
the night, for sure.

- Chew, chew, chew.
- [Emily] Yeah.

- And then it opens up
the capillaries and then.

- Oh, I'd definitely end my
night with a cigar. That sounds-

- That's so nasty. Coffee,
a funnel cake and a cigar

and Final Draft Pro.
(Emily laughing)

- Yeah, there's just one
screenwriter on Toy Island.

- There's always one kid who's
always writing a screenplay.

- Just like...
- [Ally] So nasty, yeah.

Smoke a full cigar.
- Hey, I actually,

I actually smashed my MacBook Pro

'cause my hands are turning into hooves.

- Yeah, yeah. (laughs)
- Is there a...

No, no donkey fever yet!

But we met the Little Mermaid
who communicated to you

that her name is Mira,
communicating telepathically.

- [Ally] Oh, right.

- [Brennan] Thanks to
Mother Goose's spells

because she does not appear,

at this moment, to have her voice.

- Yes, and she is chronically in pain.

- [Brennan] You saw,
yes, you were able to-

- Even every step hurts.
- Every step hurts.

But this is, of course,
in the broader context,

you all living in this second life,

this twice upon a time, after
your adventures in death

and also in The Lines Between,
that vast castle of text

where you saw the Canonade,

and Mother Goose glimpsed The Authors.

But you arrived back in this world,

defeated the Baron of Bricks,

and met up with Snow White
in the lands of Snowhold

after freeing the Big Bad Wolf.

So a lot of context and knowledge

has come into this place here,

Snow White telling you that
she had only ever seen visions

of a successful battle against the fairies

if seven princesses were gathered.

You learned that Cinderella was en route

from the other world where
first you had met her

with the Princess Rapunzel,

a princess referred to by
Snow White as the Beast.

And also, the Princess
Elody of Greenleigh,

the Prince Gerard's lady wife!

- But she's not telling anybody that.

- (laughs) She's not telling anybody that.

So you left Snow White and her army

of spectral dwarves to face
down the Tsar of Snowhold

and his champion Koschei the Deathless

and came here based on
reconnaissance and intel

you found in the desk
of the Baron of Bricks.

You came here as fast as you could

to find the Little Mermaid
before her father, the Mer-King,

part of the Council of Kings,
could come and reclaim her.

But thanks to a bit of
handwork that the Mer-King

had gotten from the Sea Witch,

it was Rosamund's presence in the ocean

that alerted him to your presence here,

and it seems you are too late!

The Mer-King has thundered to the surface.

You see the Mer-King here in this place,

and all of you battle now enjoins.

First, as we enter into this new combat

you see the Mer-King bellows out,

Daughter, I have come to claim you!

The lands of the Merfolk will expand!

The coasts be taken and
clawed into the sea!

Return to me at once!

And Red, you are gonna
be the first to act.

- What? (laughs)

Okay, I think I look at Mira.

I just kinda wanna read her vibe,

make sure that this isn't what she wants.

- [Brennan] She looks-
- I give her a...

We love Daddy. We hate Daddy.

We love-

- Love Daddy, hate Daddy.
- [Lou] Okay, hate Daddy.

We love Daddy, we hate Daddy.

- Love it, we hate Daddy.

- It's always good to check, though.

- We love Daddy. We hate Daddy.

We hate Daddy.
- We hate Daddy.

- I think that...
- We love Daddy.

- I'm looking around.

Well, I'm definitely gonna go into a rage

'cause I was unprepared
and had not done that yet.

And then, I think I'm just gonna...

There's not really...

You know what? I'm just gonna...

What I'm gonna do is,
do I have the movement

to just go into a rage and
just like, come up here

and just prepare an
action to attack anyone

who tries to attack her?

- [Brennan] Hell yeah, absolutely.

- Could I prepare a reaction to try

and grapple anyone who comes for her?

- Yes, you can absolutely
prepare a grapple attack.

- Okay, I think that's my game.

- All right, you jump into a stance,

getting ready to grapple.

- We love Daddy.
(Emily laughing)

- Incredible. Pib, that's gonna be you.

- Okay, what have we got?

Can I just like, make a
perception check like,

what this new squad's deal is?

- [Brennan] Yeah, absolutely.
Give me a perception check.

- And just in terms of
like, what have they got?

They have like, weapons? Do
they look like spellcasters?

- [Lou] A fresh squad.

- I think this is gonna
be another situation

of Red fights everyone
while we try to k*ll Daddy.

- [Emily] Yeah, I guess-
- Yes, I think so.

- That's the question, do you think

I should have used my
full movement to get...

- No, 'cause those guys'll come to us.

- They're gonna come, yeah,
so that's what I figured.

- [Lou] Yeah, they want...
- So you, yeah.

- [Siobhan] This is a
beautiful bottleneck.

- Okay, cool, cool, great.
- 14.

- 14, you see the Mer-King standing there

calling out to his daughter.

He looks very powerfully magical as well.

It doesn't look like he's
just gonna be a warrior.

The merrow that surround him,

these sort of monstrous merfolk here,

they look pretty intense.

So they look more like
scrappers, warriors.

- Okay, I think going around
this side might be good

for some of our longer-range people.

- Oh, yeah. Oh yeah, I'll make a big show-

- Distraction or extraction?

- Although that's a long walk.
- Yeah, that is.

- There's also these boats.
- Yeah.

- We could maybe row across, I-

- I kept laughing looking at the board

picturing on my first turn
just getting in a boat.

(Ally and Siobhan laughing)

- Well, that's what I'm thinking about.

I'm like, there's no way we're good for-
- I'm thinking here of that also.

- There's no way it's better
for us to be in the water.

- When they're like, massive anglerfish.

- [Zac] Kind of close to you, right?

- Yeah, I think on my
turn I'll probably go up

and just go over the bridge.

I think your only concern is that you need

to find a place to hide because if they...

- I don't wanna get AOE'd.
- Yeah.

- Like, get a big old blast of water.
- Yeah, I think it's good for us to, yeah.

- [Ally] Yeah.

- Then I'm gonna try to
make a full dash this way

and eventually kind of
be on this side, I think.

- [Brennan] Hell yeah, and
you have that tabaxi power,

but I'm not sure if that's-

- Oh yeah, yeah, yeah,
that's good. You're right.

I think Pinocchio's at a real low point.

One of the two adult
figures he spends time with

told him he's terrified,

and that was before the Dogfish showed up.

(players laughing)

I think in this moment,

Pinocchio does want to
do a perception check.

Is there any, or maybe
it's a history check.

Is there anything I remember

that's either in Bart's Funnel
Cake and Cigars or Circus?

Like, any of these stands that I'm like,

could help us in this moment?

- Give me a history check.
- All right.

(die taps table)

That's a natural 20.
- Nice!

(Ally cheering)
- Okay!

So first of all, we have to say,

Pinocchio now has a new warlock subclass.

- [Lou] Yeah.
- Is this his patron?

- This is my patron, yes.
- Really?

- Yeah. No, I wish.

- Wow, you keep on picking
worse and worse patrons.

- I wish. (laughs)
- Big fish, dude, big fish.

- A strand of destiny
connects you to this fish.

The power of your magic to
wield destiny, as fairies do,

which is in some ways the
ability to wield canon itself,

to wield the idea of what our
stories are supposed to be.

You have a connection
to this entity in that,

there aren't versions of your story

where something like this doesn't appear.

It always has to be like this.

And that connection can be
used for either good or ill.

It can either doom you or save you.

But you feel a connection to this thing.

On a nat 20 history check I'm
gonna tell you straight up,

you escaped this thing once
in a version of the Neverafter

where this was significantly less scary.

All these spears and harpoons
and anchors and things,

this thing has destroyed countless ships.

It just ate the King of the Ocean.

You don't know if it
would be as survivable

to live within this thing as it was

in other versions of your story
before the times of shadow.

What you do know is the trick
you used to get out of it

might work again, right?

Which is that this thing in
your, at least in the version

of the Neverafter that
you come from, had asthma.

And anything that creates smoke or fire

has a potential to release
things that are swallowed by it.

Now, that's a way to get it to let go

of things that it's swallowed.

In terms of defeating it,
you know, weak points.

What weak points, let
me look at this thing.

The weakest points that you can see on it

are its very small eyes.

I'll tell you right now,
I'm gonna honor this nat 20

and just tell you the
actual mechanics of this.

What Pinocchio would know in the world

is that you need to go
for the eyes, right?

If you can get both eyes this thing-

- Yeah, they're so tiny.
- They're so tiny.

If you can get both eyes,

this thing is probably going to retreat.

However, I will give you the
game mechanics for that type

'cause called shots aren't
really a thing in 5e.

For our purpose, the
way this thing will run

with called shots is, if
you can somehow get...

You know that, Pinocchio
would know in world

that piercing damage is
what it's gonna take.

Some type of, you have to
pierce its eyes, right?

If a creature would be able

to roll with advantage against this thing,

it can instead elect to
roll with disadvantage.

it can instead elect to
roll with disadvantage.

If that disadvantaged attack
hits and deals piercing damage,

If that disadvantaged attack
hits and deals piercing damage,

(snaps fingers) one of the eyes goes.

- Oh my God.
- [Murph] Oh.

- [Brennan] You see what I'm saying?

- Oh!
- [Murph] Cool.

- Wow, this is so tricky.
- The trial and error

that we would have had to go through.

- Right, that nat 20 saved you
rounds of figuring that out.

- This also is kinda sick

because it tickles the gambler in me.

- Oh yes.
- [Emily] Oh, I can roll.

- You gotta tickle the gambler.

- [Ally] This season is all
about tickling the gambler.

- I will also say that
scoring a nat 20 against this

with piercing damage, I
would also honor that.

So a piercing nat 20 would also
get rid of one of the eyes.

- Okay, great.
- Cool, great.

- Does it seem like it's
just sitting there or, like?

- No, it is, boom! And is about to...

- [Emily] And it's gonna go back down.

- It's sort of like, towering up

and is about to smash
back down into the ocean.

- Okay.
- [Lou] Great, cool.

- Okay.

- What do these guys look
like they're gonna do?

Are they like, oh, team
attack this guy now?

- Where are their daddy-meters at?

(Emily laughing)
- [Ally] Yeah.

- Are they gonna go for Daddy or are they?

- Everyone give me an insight
and I'll give you any,

I'll give you a daddy-meter of one of them

on a 15 or higher.
(Emily laughing)

- Now I roll a 15 on the daddy-meter.

- I didn't get it.
- Okay, Gerard.

The one right in front
of you is mostly worried

about fighting all of you.
- [Murph] Okay.

- And it's facing a whole
bridge full of enemies.

It's like, (snarls) and it
hears (mimics waves crashing)

and it hasn't looked behind it yet,

but all the fight's gone out of it.

So it's sort of like... (gasps)

- Yeah, we don't have to.
We don't have to do this.

(Brennan laughing)
- Join us.

Join us, your king is

- [Zac] No.

- [Brennan] No? Okay, great.
- No, I wanted a daddy-meter.

- You wanted a daddy-meter reading?

- I'll use a luck point.
(Siobhan laughing)

- Okay, so Pinocchio, it's your

- Okay, great, I think Pinocchio
has this moment of terror

that leads to these revelations.

And is gonna go, ah! Pib, Rosamund!

And just at the top of
his lungs be screaming.

It has asthma! So if you wanna...

It has asthma!

So if you hide, you could
light a fire inside of it!

The other thing is the eyes!

- Okay, God!
- Okay.

- So I scream all of that.
(Emily laughing at Pinocchio's screaming)

- Aren't you a warlock?

Can't you do this in

- [Ally] Yeah.

- Any way we can help people.
- We got sneak attack.

- [Murph] Any way we can
do anything like that.

- I have a way to take

- Well, what about your Zephyr thing?

Do you still have advantage
or that's just on one?

- [Emily] Oh, doesn't
the advantage end it?

- That's only on one
and I already used it.

- Oh, got it.
- But I have another way

to do it, but I would need somebody

to give me the help action on that turn.

- I can give you the help on your turn.

- Great.
- Yeah, great.

- Yeah, I don't know how
this guy's doing. I feel-

- Yeah, you could do
another insight daddy-meter.

- 'Cause these guys might
do piercing damage too.

- Yeah, can I do one

- [Brennan] Yeah.

Give me just a little...

- [Brennan] Hell yes!

- This is an opportunity

- [Lou] Oh, yeah.
- Oh, a nat 20.

Yes, absolutely.
- [Emily] Yeah!

- We're going back to our...

- Well, I couldn't read your daddy-meter,

so now I'm just gonna ice you.

- [Brennan] Well, okay, so roll damage

for the critical first.
- [Lou] Okay.

(dice tap table)

15.
- [Murph] Nice.

- 15, hell yes. Okay, 15 on the critical.

Go ahead and roll damage
for the other one as well.

- It's a one.
- Just one damage?

- Do you add anything to...
- Don't you add

any Agonizing Blast stuff?

- Oh, that's right, I add my CHA.

- [Brennan] And you add
it to the other one, too.

- It's been a long time.
- [Murph] Excuse me?

- I add CHA.
- [Murph] Your CHA?

- CHA, I love adding some CHA.

- CHA, CHA tea.
- CHA!

So, the first one it was 15 plus four, 19.

The second one is five.
- Okay, gotcha.

You launch two blasts of
these glowing strings.

(Brennan mimics strings
blasting and screams)

This thing is, like a big
chunk of its skull tears away.

It is mauled beyond imagining,
but still on two feet.

- God, was it marinaded in

Lemon butter?

- As you blast this dude's
face off I'm yelling,

it seems like they've been demoralized!

I think they're going to run, oh!

- On a four or lower it dies instantly.

- [Murph] Well, that's a four right there.

- [Siobhan] That's a four right there.

- [Emily] That's a four.
- [Brennan] That's an 11.

- [Ally] Oh, that dice was close.

- Well, that's an 11 right there.

- And me and Cricket will split up.

I think Cricket will go...

I'll go this way and I'll tell Cricket

to stay with Rosamund.
- Oh, amazing.

- You can go ahead and
move Cricket over to...

- Is this guy-

- [Brennan] Yes, that little green thing.

- [Zac] Pops off?
- [Brennan] Over to Rosamund.

- [Lou] Yeah, he's got 60
fly, so he'll just dash and...

- [Brennan] Cool.
- [Siobhan] Great.

- [Lou] He'll hang out.

(player whistles)
- [Brennan] Incredible.

- What is the range on the help action?

- Has to be next to unless,
Pib can do it at 30 feet.

- [Siobhan] Okay.
- Right.

- I'm a little out of your range.

- [Brennan] Any bonus
actions for Pinocchio

or you're all good?

- No, I think that'll
do it. That'll do it.

That'll do it just fine.

We had a big turn, you know?
- [Emily] That'll do it on me.

- [Murph] Big turn.
- Big turn.

- [Brennan] Amazing, okay.

- We had delicious dinner for all of us.

(Siobhan laughing)

- [Siobhan] Oh no! Oh boy.
- [Murph] He can't move.

- [Emily] Oh, I wanted to jump on him.

- So, whoosh! All of this continues.

You see that the Terrible
Dogfish, boom, splashes back in.

This is covered by water for the moment.

Waves sh**t out more under

Gonna roll a save for that boat.

That's a natural three, boat capsizes.

(Brennan mimics waves crashing)

- [Lou] Hey, the boats were-
- No!

- Drop to your knees. (fake-screams)

- And Red, that's gonna be your turn.

- That's my turn.

Okay, what's this guy in front of us?

We did a daddy check, but he's distracted.

He still wants to fight, though.

- Daddy check. (laughs)

- It looks like he might still be,

you see he whips around
to see the fish is gone.

- Just, a tie! It's a tie.

- Let's just all hold our actions

- Ylfa, it's a...

- Jump on the Dogfish?

- Well, that's what I was gonna ask you.

So like, what are the
mechanics for going underwater?

How many rounds can I survive underwater?

- You can survive holding
your breath underwater

if you would like to, for sure.

You can also ready actions for
anything else that happens.

- I guess I'm thinking like,

if I were to jump directly onto his eye

and then follow him down underwater.

I have good CON, so isn't CON the water?

- [Brennan] How you hold your breath?

- How you hold your breath.
- Yes, it is. That's correct.

- So that's hypothetically a thing

that I can not worry about.

- [Brennan] Yes, that's correct.

- Mira, how are you feeling?
You're not being made to feel.

Yeah, no, no, I know
that. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

But like, I mean...

This is, we just need
to get you out of here.

- Mira is no longer
compelled by any magic.

The father who had come to
reclaim her has just be eaten.

Well, so, I think that when
you say, "Get out of here."

- [Emily] Mm-hmm.

- I think that it would
occur to you that you are on,

you know, Toy Island is
a floating wooden rig.

- [Emily] Mm-hmm.

- It's hard for you to think
of a place you could get to.

- Yeah, we just gotta k*ll this dude.

- So we have to?

So it's basically like,

this guy's gonna keep
attacking us, so our-

- We can consider that
right now we're all here.

If this dude's gonna pop up like,

right under us.
- He's gonna get all of us.

- So, I think it's maybe

not a bad idea to split up.
- Well, one thing I want to do is,

can I take out a matchbook
and just make a little fire

for myself just to have?

- [Brennan] Sure.
- Okay, so I do that.

- Just a single little
match. Good thinking, Ylfa!

- I thought, if I could go back in time

I was gonna use my bonus action to use...

I can't create bonfire.
- [Murph] A little match.

- But I'm gonna create twigs for everyone.

- Yeah, so I think I want
to just make a little fire

'cause I do have Control Flames,

and if I get stuck in there...

And then yeah, I think
maybe the move is to...

Well, I wanna get between her and him.

So I think, I gotta
make sure that this guy

doesn't start coming after her,

is the thing I'm worried about.

- Can you push him off the bridge?

- I think these guys are done, right?

- I think these guys are....

- Okay, then can I just prepare an action?

I'm gonna turn into a brown bear.

I mean, sorry, I'm gonna turn
into, go into alpha wolf mode.

- [Brennan] Cool.
- And I just wanna get ready

to just, I wanna like, look
at the water and see where.

And see if I see a shadow so
I can move to that direction

so that I can try and jump
onto its eye and attack it.

- Okay, sick.

So, you are going to ready an action

to jump onto the Terrible
Dogfish if it is within range.

So you are readying a movement action.

- Or no, what I wanna do is I wanna look

and see if there's a shadow
in the water right now

'cause presumably this thing
makes some kind of shadow

or some kind of like, see
if I can get any sense

of its direction so that I can start

to move in that direction

and then also prepare
an action to jump on.

- We had a moment of like-

- Those things appearing, too.
- [Zac] Waves, yeah.

So we even will be able to
know where it's showing up.

- Can I hold my hold turn until those?

- If you wanna change your initiative

and delay your action, go for it.

- So you guys don't think I need

to attack this guy in front of us?

- I mean, he might
attack us. I don't know.

He just seems like,
maybe not as big a deal.

- [Lou] You can take one, right?

- Go k*ll him. It seems
like you want to k*ll him.

- No, no, no. No, no,
no, I wanna be helpful.

- Either way is helpful.
- I wanna be helpful!

- It's just...
- Okay.

- I think I'm just gonna
go into alpha wolf mode

and just step back so that
we're not an easy target

and hold my action to just jump on.

- Okay, you step back here?
- [Emily] Yeah, yeah.

- Okay, okay.
- I think I wanna, yeah.

I want to step back. This guy was huge.

I think I wanna use my whole movement

to kind of go back right here.

- Back there, cool. Sick, love it.

- And then hopefully be able to jump on.

- So you turn, you go brown
bear, jump back there.

Pib, that is going to be your turn.

- I wanna get this far this way as I can.

- I can do that for you if you wanna swap.

- You want to carry me, or?
- I could, yeah.

- Okay, so I could either
hold my action or hold my turn

or go down to later
action with Mother Goose.

I think I'll just, I won't move this turn

and hold my action to attack.
- [Brennan] Okay, okay.

- Pierce an eye if I see one,

but I do eventually wanna be over here,

I think, if possible.
- [Ally] Cool, okay, great.

- [Brennan] Okay.
- And yeah.

- So you're going to ready an action

to attack its eye if possible?
- [Zac] Yeah, yes.

- Okay, cool.
- And it would be helpful

if I don't move this turn so
I can double move next turn.

- [Ally] Okay, cool.
- [Brennan] Copy that.

These all go away, thank you so much.

- [Lou] Oh, let's see here.
- Okay.

- Who's he coming for?
- f*ck.

- Where's he gonna be?

- Okay, let me see something here...

- [Emily] Yeah, I was hoping
that might be a tasty place.

Remember, I do have a lit match.
- [Lou] There we go.

(players chuckling)

- [Ally] On the sea.
(Emily laughing)

- [Murph] Oh no.
- [Emily] Okay, okay.

- [Murph] Oh boy, that's bad for Rosamund.

- [Emily] So I didn't
move far enough away.

- It's all good, I have movement.

I think I will move before it pops up.

- You know what, I kinda wanna be here.

- Yeah, I don't mind.

- Do you still wanna be over there?

- [Siobhan] I'm happy
being this close to it.

- Yeah, this side of it is probably-

- Yeah, you're good. We
need somebody on that side.

- Yeah.
- [Ally] Cool.

Okay, that's at the end of Pib's turn.

Now the merrow are going to
go. So this guy over here...

- Oh, there's another guy?

- Do we roll more daddy checks?

- Hey! Just, it's off.

- It's cool!
- Yeah, is it this or this?

- Hey, hey dude! We're done.

- Is it Daddy, good Daddy?
Is it bad, Daddy's bad?

- Do you see the bubbles?
That's kind of the thing now.

- [Lou] Yeah.
- Uh-huh, uh-huh.

- Seems like there's a whole new thing.

- There's just a whole new thing.

- Mm-hmm, mm-hmm.

(laughs) You see that
merrow is gonna take off

and is gonna really have to hoof it.

(players laughing)

He's gonna go...

- [Siobhan] Or you could help us!

- [Brennan] 15, 20, 25-

- [Emily] Do you do piercing damage?

- [Brennan] 45, I'm gonna
roll in front of the board

to see if he can make
that little corner jump.

11, he makes it.

- [Lou] It's weird to watch
a fish walk instead of swim.

- [Ally] Yeah.

- Yeah, you see this

totally eludes him as he just like 2-D...

(panting)
(sound of flippers slapping)

Just watching him run fully
horizontal to all of you.

- I've never seen a fish sweat.

- He's coming towards us?

- He just looks scared. He's just running.

He's just... (pants heavily)

- He doesn't wanna be
in the water, either.

- [Ally] Yeah.

- [Brennan] This guy
is going to charge Pib.

- Son of a b*tch. Can I attack
him with my held reaction?

- I think you said technically

you were waiting for an eye, correct?

- Yeah.
- Okay.

- You can attack his other eye.

- Man, we called it off!
- Read the room!

- That guy specifically was aggravated.

- Oh, okay, so he...

Oh, well, he's a fish,
Murph. I couldn't, Murph.

- Does he have disadvantage

'cause half of his face fell off?

- Give me a constitution
saving throw, Zac.

- Okay.
- [Ally] You have Bless.

- I'm sorry, I wouldn't have
left you to get attacked.

- [Lou] Oh, you have Bless.

- It just, it seemed like everyone...

- Oh no.
- Ooh, boy.

- Shouldn't have made the fish mad.

(Emily laughs)

- I think they were already mad.

- I think I only got... (sighs)

Yeah, I'm not gonna use
an ability. I got a five.

- You don't want to use that ability?

- I might have something. I might.

- I will, yeah, I guess I'll use it.

I only think I can add...

It's within 30 feet.

- Oh, I've moved, though. I
wonder if I'm within 30 feet.

- Yeah, she's within 30 feet, I think

'cause you can see her, yeah.
- One, two, three.

Okay, so that's....

I add three to that, so eight.

- [Brennan] Good.
- What about Silvery Barbs?

- Oh, do you want to cast Silvery Barbs?

- [Ally] Yes.

- Okay, in response to what you're seeing?

- Yes.
- [Brennan] Okay.

- So, you must reroll the d20.

Oh no, no, sorry. I'm
gonna use the other one.

You must reroll the d20
and it's like advantage.

- Okay, and you're gonna give advantage

to someone else you can see.

Yeah, you give this roll disadvantage.

- And then I give Zac's roll advantage.

- [Brennan] Cool.
- Great.

- You no longer need to make the CON save.

You were about to instantly die.

- Whoa!

- [Brennan] The merrow hit a nat 20.

- [Emily] Crit on you, oh!
- [Brennan] Crit on you.

- My God!
- Timothy!

- Still hits on the first attack

and then on the second
attack hits as well,

but neither of these is gonna be a crit.

How many hit points
does Pib have right now?

- 29.
- [Siobhan] (sighs) Oh boy.

- [Brennan] 29, okay.

- Should have f*cking smoked this as*h*le.

- You take 12 points of damage.

- On which, on the first one?

- [Brennan] On the first attack.

- Okay.
- So you're now down to...

- 17.
- 17.

- 17 and then eight so neither of those

gets rid of half your hit
points, so that's good.

- I will, could I Uncanny
Dodge the first one?

- [Brennan] Yeah, sure thing.
- Okay.

So that would be six and then eight.

- Six and then eight.

Two attacks (screams) from
that merrow as it rushes up.

The other merrow is going

to make two grapple attempts against-

- See, oh! I shouldn't have left.

- [Brennan] Against-

- I knew they were still a threat.

- Gerard's got it, don't worry.

(Emily laughs)
- This is what I'm here for,

to do the little dumb things.
- Thank you, Timothy!

- He's gonna grapple Mira. I'm
gonna roll Mira's two first.

Like her resistances to this.
Each of these is plus 5.

(die taps Box of Doom)
(eerie music)

That's a 10 on the first one.

And a seven on the next one.
- Total?

- So you think they could beat that?

- Total. (laughs) I
think it's very likely.

- [Lou] Wait, what'd
you get the first time?

- [Ally] 10.

- It's like, crazy 'cause
I was just grappling her.

- The first one was a 10.

(die taps Box of Doom)

Yeah, merrow successfully
grapples on the first hit.

And then, he's actually
just gonna take a swing

against Gerard and miss,

and dive over the side.

about the phrase "beat your a*s"

- Gerard, it's going to be your turn.

- All right, Rosamund, change of plans.

- Yep.

'Cause I can jump, so I can

Let's do a straight line here.

He's a little bit more than 30 feet away.

He's got a speed of 40.

- Since I held an action
to jump, can I jump to him?

- You specifically stated
that the Terrible Dogfish

was your goal.
- Okay, cool.

- So Gerard, it's a little
bit outside of your movement.

- But you could get close and swim.

Are you a strong swimmer or is that also?

- Oh, you know what I can do?

I will dash and then Action Surge.

- [Brennan] Cool.

- [Ally] Nice.
- [Lou] Classic Gerard move.

- [Murph] Classic.
- [Ally] Classic.

All right, do you have
a swim speed, Gerard?

- [Murph] You know, I

- [Emily] I bet you do.

- [Siobhan] A frog's gotta
have a swim speed, right?

- Frog's gotta have a damn...
- 90 miles per hour.

- I bet it's 30.
- [Brennan] Well, no

'cause Murph mechanically is a hobgoblin.

- Oh, you're a hobgoblin, oh.
- [Siobhan] Oh.

- Both of you are inside of the Dogfish.

- A held action is a reaction?

- Yes. Held action you
use your reaction, yep.

That's the end of Gerard's turn.

Mother Goose, that is going to be you.

- Okay, I am going to run, grab Pib.

- I don't have my action right now.

- Yeah.
- Okay.

- Grab Pib. So I'm gonna go this route.

Five, 10, 20, right here.

I'm gonna give Pib the help action

so that you have advantage on
the next thing that you do.

- I currently have advantage
from your Silvery Barbs

if you wanna give it to somebody else.

- Oh, you didn't use that on something?

- [Zac] Right, I didn't reroll that.

- Does it have to be in the same moment

that they use their
advantage in Silvery Barbs?

- The next roll.

- [Lou] So it would have
been on that attack?

- [Brennan] It would
have been on that attack.

- Okay.
- So, I'll give you advantage.

I'll just give you the help action,

and then what is my jump?

- [Brennan] Your jump?
What's your strength?

- [Ally] My strength is 11.
- [Murph] What, Timothy?

- Strength is 11.

- Em?
(Ally chuckling)

- [Brennan] How tall are you?

- Really tall, I think. I'm
like, f*cking like 6'7".

I'm like a towering, gangly baby.

- You're 6'7"?
- I'm probably 6'7".

- Yeah, your long jump is 10 feet.

- And so I can reach my good friend?

- [Brennan] Yeah, you can
reach your good friend.

- Okay, I obviously leave you here, Pib,

and I say, I've got your back, chop chop.

And I jump, chop city.

And then I jump and onto your back

and I bonus action Misty Step
up there holding the frog.

- Can Misty Step take someone with you?

- [Ally] I don't know.
- I don't believe it can.

- [Murph] No.
- [Ally] Oh, really?

- It cannot, no.
- Yeah.

(cast laughing)
- Do I just...

Do I just punch you further
under the water and disappear?

Is that real? Okay, wait,
then I change my whole action.

I change my whole action.
(players laughing)

- [Brennan] All good, all good.

- [Ally] All right, all right,
all right. Oh, God damn it.

- If you have any like,
Bardic or anything?

- [Lou] Change your whole action!

- [Ally] Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- That would be super helpful

in case this stupid-
- Okay.

No, I do the same thing.
I'm sorry, I'm being cuckoo.

I don't give you the help
action, but I do carry you.

Where do you wanna go?
- [Zac] That's...

- [Ally] That's good?
- [Zac] Yeah.

- [Ally] A little further this way?

- [Zac] Further down would
be great, but I don't know.

- I put you there, and
then they're f*cking,

well, I can't jump that far.

But anyway, I jump and then instead

of giving you the help
action, I cast Jump on you.

- [Murph] I have Jump already.
- God damn it. Okay, okay.

Wait, I don't do any of
that. All right, so sorry.

Freaky Friday! I grab.

I run my full 30 feet.
I probably get here.

Pib, I give you the help action.

I cast Expeditious Retreat
on myself as a bonus action.

- [Emily] Oh, great.
- That's my turn.

- [Brennan] Cool.
- And to you,

I give you Bardic Inspiration.
(players laughing)

- You can't give Bardic
and cast extraneous-

- [Brennan] Expeditious Retreat.

You gotta to pick one or the other.

- I like extraneous retreat.

- [Brennan] Bardic is a bonus action,

and Expeditious is a bonus action.

- Oh, okay, yeah. Then I
just give you Bardic, yeah.

- Sorry.
- No, that's okay.

- At the end of Mother Goose's turn.

- At the end of Mother Goose's turn.

- [Ally] Suh.

- [Brennan] At the end
of Mother Goose's turn.

- Mother Goose gets two turns.

- Yeah, I get three
different. I get a remix.

- [Siobhan] When Tim leveled up last time.

- [Emily] Going underwater.
- [Ally] Oh my God.

- [Siobhan] Crash.

- [Emily] Who is in the belly with us?

- Just the king and maybe other people.

- It's not like a sort
of fun cartoon down here.

It's not like, ooh, a
little hut with a lantern.

It is massive, wet muscles
crushing you to eat you.

It is massive, wet muscles
crushing you to eat you.

- But isn't there also wood in
here? Because all that wood.

- Oh tons, yeah, so you're
like, dodging spars of wood

that are getting ground up by teeth

that are flying towards you.

- Like this.
- [Emily] I know, like...

- Don't go out, don't
go out, don't go out.

- [Brennan] This wave is gonna
hit you. I'm gonna need a...

- You're gonna make me roll, dude.

- [Brennan] I'm just gonna-
- Don't make me roll!

- I'm gonna need an athletics
check from you. DC 15.

- I'm supposed to be good at that.

(Siobhan laughing)

- It's gonna be fine. It's gonna be fine.

Great, 19.
- It's fine, it's fine.

- [Brennan] Hell yeah.
- Okay, great, it's fine,

it's fine, it's fine.
- It's fine. This is fine.

I've got these little
guys. They're turtles.

- [Ally] Oh.

- Not frogs, but turtles and stuff.

- [Ally] Cute.
- Rosamund.

- [Siobhan] Yes.

- I'm gonna need a death
saving throw from you.

- That's a 14.
- [Murph] Okay.

- You succeed and you
also get two failures

from acid damage.
(Murph groans painfully)

At the start of your turn.
- [Murph] Not good.

- [Ally] Dead!
- I'm glad I came.

- Yeah, jeez. You gotta still burn her.

- Every time I have a cool thing planned,

Brennan just kills me.

- I'll tell you what,

when you see the little
white guys, you gotta hustle.

- I didn't have a turn!
- Oh my God.

- Between the little white guys coming,

I didn't have a turn!
- You roll an initiative

in the end of the last episode

and you're never more mad at past you.

- Yes, truly.
- Yeah.

- If I could find myself
rolling that dice,

I'd kick the sh*t outta him.
- Truly, truly.

- Literally the thing
comes up and goes down

before I have a turn.
- Yeah, yeah.

- So it's like, you have to plan.

- That's why you gotta hold the actions.

- Exactly.

- This whole thing is gonna get busted up.

- Okay, Rosamund, successful save.

That is going to be Pinocchio.

- Okay, a thought Pinocchio had.

There is a tether between
me and the Dogfish.

- [Brennan] Yes.

- Can I watch that tether
move underneath the water?

- [Brennan] Yeah.

- Can I tell where the
Dogfish may pop up next

based on said tether?

- I think I can't attack anything

until the Dogfish comes up.
- Why?

- You think you, oh...

- 'Cause it's just, that f*cked me.

- So you're saying, but
you can attack the Dogfish.

You're not saying you can't-
- I'm just like, I don't know

if I should attack these
fish people at all 'cause-

- [Ally] Oh yeah, 'cause
you need it for the Dogfish.

- I think, 'cause you do piercing, right?

Yeah, we need you on the...

- So we need you to take care of running.

- (chuckles) Running guy?
- I can do piercing,

but I feel like the most important person

to do piercing is also Rosamund so...

- [Lou] Yeah.
- Daggers and arrows.

- [Emily] Daggers and arrows.
- Are what we got. And a sword.

- Yeah, no, sword's slashing.
- Sword's slashing, yeah.

- So I think he's gonna come up

around Gerard and Mira right now

or that's where the
tether seems to be moving?

- [Brennan] Mm-hm.
- Gerard!

- Yes?
(players laughing and wincing)

- Gerard, you gotta get outta the water!

- [Murph] Okay, I'd love to!
- I am awoken from the dead

inside the belly of this whale.

- You gotta get outta the water, Gerard!

- Are you hearing this guy?
We need to get out of here.

We can settle this up there.
(Brennan hissing maliciously)

Let's wrestle on the docks.

- Does anybody have the
card for the Golden Bridle?

- [Ally] What?

- The card for the Golden Bridle.

- [Siobhan] Yeah, does
anybody have the card

for the Golden Bridle?
- I should have it

'cause nobody took it from me.

- [Emily] I don't think I've had any.

- I think it's in Tim's big stack.

- Card for the...

- I think it's in your big stack.

- It's not, it's not.
- Tim's big stack is really...

Have you looked?
- No, I would have seen it.

- [Brennan] Looked for
what, looked for what,

looked for what?
- [Murph] We had the item,

the Golden Bridle.
- Golden bridle.

- [Murph] And we've never used it.

- Oh, the Golden Bridle.
Yes, yes, yes, yes.

- If I go down, take the
Cloak of Stars from me

because that has a magic
arrow as part of it,

and it's a fifth-level magic arrow.

- Ooh.
- You mean Magic m*ssile?

- Yes. (chuckles)
- Okay.

I mean, honey, you're not going down.

- Yes, and if I do....
(Emily laughing)

- [Lou] Sorry I accused you of having it.

- You watched me go
through this fat stack.

- I watched you go
through that whole stack.

- [Brennan] Okay.
- Okay, Pinocchio is gonna...

- [Brennan] Okay.
- Okay, Pinocchio is gonna...

That's so dumb.

- I think you should jump
on top of Gerard's head

and do something.
(cast laughing)

- No one jump on my head.
- [Lou] Oh, let's see.

- I hope we leave that whole
sequence in, baby. (laughs)

- 15, 20, 25.

- I will say that I
don't have a swim speed,

but I can breathe underwater.

That is the Crown of the Frog Prince

so if you wanna k*ll this guy.
- 20, 25...

- [Emily] You can keep sinking but not-

- [Murph] I can just
sink and I'll be fine.

- You can just walk very
slowly back to shore.

- [Zac] We'll throw an anchor to you.

- Okay, I think I'm gonna...

I mean, you can get the
measuring stick out,

but I think I'm good on this.

I'm gonna go five, 10, 15,
20, 25, jump into the water.

I'm gonna go five, 10, 15,
20, 25, jump into the water.

Just as I'm about to hit the
water, Misty Step to this dock.

- [Murph] Whoa, that's sick.
- [Brennan] Hell yeah, dope.

- Dope.
- [Lou] So we'll do... (hums)

- Wow!

- And then, I'm gonna hit
our jogging fish over here.

- (laughs) Hell yeah.

- I'm gonna hit our jogging
fish. Go for him twice.

- [Brennan] Go for it.

- You got this.
- First one is a...

(mystical instrumental music)

Is an 18 to hit.

- 18 hits.
- Great, second one.

(die taps table)

Is a 12 to hit.

I'm gonna use the Bardic.

- Hell yeah, it's an eight now.

- Oh, it's an eight now. Hot
stuff, baby, this evening.

(Murph laughs)

That makes it a 15.
- [Brennan] Both hit.

(Ally whistles appreciatively)
- Hot stuff, baby, tonight.

- That was a song we had
to sing at Cold Stone.

(players laughing)
And it was hot fudge.

- Yes!
- Gotta have some fudging.

Gotta have some fudge tonight.

That's gonna be...
- I think that's a slur.

I think that's just straight
up a slur in England.

- I gotta get some hot fudge.
- That's gonna be 15 points

of damage total.

- 15 points of damage total. Hell yes.

- Times six.
(Brennan laughs)

Because of how much we're getting wrecked.

(cast laughing)

- 15 points total. Bam, bam! (shrieks)

Screaming fish, weird angler
bulb on the front of its head.

Stumbles as it continues
to run down the docks.

That's action and bonus
action from Pinocchio.

Make a perception check for me.

- Oy vey.

(die taps table)
(tense music)

- I think it's 19.

- Ooh, that's high.
- It's 19.

- Brennan, that's high.
- It's really high.

- [Brennan] 19.
- That's really perceptive.

- Almost makes you wanna
just unload all the secrets.

- [Brennan] A boat appears
headed through the wreckage.

- [Siobhan] Who the f*ck is this?

- [Lou] Who the f*ck is this? They got...

One arm's a claw.

- [Brennan] There is a woman

who appears to be speeding
a boat through the water

with the power of magic itself.

Sort of an old, like, painted witch woman.

- [Emily] Yeah, I was
gonna say, Sea Witch?

- [Brennan] Sea Witch.
- [Emily] Ooh, baby!

- Who comes through and she goes like,

Mira, daughter of the deep,
get yourself out of there!

You're surrounded. The
Dogfish has come to k*ll...

Oh, I'm late. I'm too late.

And begins to rush through.

You see that she has a
ballista mounted on the side.

- I saw that, what?

- [Brennan] A ballista mounted
on the side of her boat.

- So that's gonna pierce.

- [Brennan] She appears
at the end of this round.

- Pierce Brosnan.

- [Lou] Misty Stepped onto that boat.

(Emily laughs)

- [Brennan] Okay.
- Tim, I'm worried about you.

- [Ally] Or there's kind of
that bridge that runner's on.

- Yeah, that guy looks tasty.

- That guy looks yummy, yummy, yummy.
- Yes.

- Ooh, yeah.

- I think you have the string
and you're kind of pulling it

like a dog leash.
- Yeah, can I go fly fishing?

Just like... (grunts)

- It's a big one, it's a big one!

- [Brennan] Pinocchio.
- Yes.

- Give me a DC 15 persuasion check.

- [Lou] Okay.
- Ooh!

- Don't you just hate runners
rubbing it in your face?

- Okay, it's a plus 4 to this.

- All right, come on, come on, come on.

(die taps table)

- Yeah!
(Emily cheers)

- 16.
(player clapping table)

- [Emily] Ooh, yeah!
- [Ally] Yes!

- [Siobhan] Nice!
- Yes, b*tch.

We're now all in the stomach.
(cast laughing)

- [Emily] That is good 'cause
I was sitting here being like,

"Do I hold my escape till they join us?"

- Oh my God.

- Pinocchio, you hold the
String of Destiny and just hear

'cause you attacked this one
over here that hisses at you.

And the loud thump of its
feet on the wooden deck,

(claps) boom, boom, boom, boom, boom,

is just enough for you
to pull the attention

of the Dogfish over to
that section of the island.

- I am the boy of destiny! (laughs)

(cast laughing)
- Oh my God.

- Did you just say something
to yourself, Pinocchio?

- Uh, uh, no, no.

Gerard, why don't you
focus on not drowning?

(players laughing)

- Red, that is your turn.
- Okay, so what I wanna do is,

I got a Goodberry that I want
to get in Rosamund's mouth,

and I got my little flame that
I wanna use Control Flames

to light some of the
wood around us on fire.

- Okay, you have the
little match with you.

You're going to use Control Flames.

What is the wording of Control
Flames? How does it work?

- "You instantaneously
expand the flame five feet

in one direction, provided
that wood or other fuel

is present in the new location."

- Okay, copy that.

- [Emily] And I confirmed
that there's wood.

- That is correct.

- You did light your
little match. (laughs)

- I lit my little match.

I put on my goggles.
(players laughing)

- [Siobhan] The correct
order to do those two things.

- Am I wearing floaties?

You're gonna have to look to find out.

Yes, I am.
- [Ally] Yeah. (laughs)

- Now we're gonna have
to make this a roll.

- [Emily] Okay.
- You have Control Flame.

What is that? That's an action, right?

- It's an action, yeah.
- [Brennan] Okay.

- Is it an action to
administer a Goodberry?

- [Brennan] It is an action
to administer a Goodberry.

- Okay, so is anyone around here?

Like, we're all getting swallowed.

What I wanna do is I wanna
try and strong-arm someone

and be like, hey, feed her this Goodberry

and then I'll get us all out of here.

- [Ally] The King.
- That's what I'm hoping.

- The King is dead.

He got hit by Rosamund's arrows
and didn't have enough HP

to survive just the initial
damage of the Dogfish.

- Okay, so there's no one in here?

- There is no one in
here with you right now.

- Then is there a way that I could,

like I'm assuming it's gonna spit us up

if I'm able to make the smoke.

- [Brennan] Yes.

- Ah, it's too much of a gamble, I think.

- I think that it's
the only option, right?

- But I can't do the
Goodberry and Control Flames.

- She'll get hit by acid.
- But she's gonna take-

- If you Goodberry,

she's gonna keep taking
acid damage every turn.

- [Siobhan] Yeah.
- Okay.

So I've got a Goodberry.
I'm putting it in her mouth.

- [Brennan] Gotcha, yeah.
- It's in her mouth.

As an object interaction I can
put it in her mouth. (laughs)

- Gotcha, but yeah, it's
the massaging the throat.

That's the action part.

- [Ally] Yeah, it's the moving the teeth.

- So then I think I'm going to-

- [Ally] Good, right? Yum, yum, yum.

- Hopefully it'll spit us out somewhere

that someone else can massage
the throat to make it happen,

but I think, yeah, I'm gonna
use my match and Control Flames

and try and light this stuff on fire.

- [Ally] All right.
- [Brennan] Okay.

- I'm like, digging deep
to the Big Bad Wolf.

- The DC of this is incredibly high.

It's a DC 25 constitution saving throw.

- [Murph] Okay.

- That the Terrible Dogfish has to make.

It has a plus 10 to
constitution saving throws.

- 15 or higher, it saves.
(eerie music)

- I'm gonna throw up.
- I'm gonna give you my fours.

Take a four!
- Can you...

- Let me touch this.
(cast laughing)

- [Siobhan] Spit on it, spit on it!

- Ugh. I can-
- [Murph] It's ruined.

- [Zac] Do you still have...

(suspenseful music)

(die taps Box of Doom)

- [Brennan] Nat 20.
- What?

- [Zac] Wait, can you.
- [Siobhan] Come on, Murph!

- Murph, you f*ck!

- [Siobhan] You gave him the wrong roll!

- Can you Silvery Barb it?
- [Siobhan] What the f*ck?

- Murph, I'm convinced that's your fault.

(cast laughing)
- One reaction you take

when a creature you
can see within 60 feet-

- [Lou] I don't think you can see.

- Succeeds on an attack,
ability, or saving throw.

I could Silvery Barbs this.
- You can't see.

- But it would be...
- You can see the...

- You can see the...
- Yeah, you can see the...

- Total, look at this wave.
- Come on, you can see that.

Say this water is completely opaque.
- [Zac] Big this fish is.

- Give me a perception check.

- [Ally] Okay.
- I'll be fair.

I will call it a DC 10 perception check

to see if you can see this
massive creature moving through.

(tense music)

- Help, can...

- No, you have a plus 9 to perception.

- Yes, that's 11, that's 11!
- That's true, that's true!

That's an 11. That's an 11.
(Brennan laughs wheezily)

- They rolled a two. They rolled a two.

- Okay, one away from
an automatic failure.

(players laughing)
- This is awesome, guys.

- We're freaking k*lling it. This is...

- Yeah, just real quick for a sec.

- Pause and just take in the rumbles.

- Oh, God.
(Murph groaning)

(ominous rumbles resound)

(Siobhan exhales softly)

- f*ck.
- I can't believe it.

- Wait a second, I just
realized something.

- [Brennan] What's that?

- I'm not allowed to have done that anyway

since it's a cantrip and
I'm in a rage, right?

- Wouldn't you just go out of your rage?

- You could just drop your rage and do it.

Okay, you get your perception.
- [Ally] Mm-hmm.

- Silvery Barbs can go off.
- [Ally] Mm-hmm.

- [Brennan] You are going
to give disadvantage here.

- Mm-hmm.
- I'm gonna roll again.

- [Lou] It has disadvantage?
- Do you guys want me

to bless it again?
- No!

- No!
- Don't bless it.

- Wait, does it have disadvantage?

- It does have disadvantage.

- Then I'll use Call the Destiny as well

so it's gonna roll again.
- Oh, great.

- But now I, or...
- But now Murph rolls it.

- So can I see it as well?

And is it within 60 feet of the surface?

- It is within 60 feet
of the surface right now.

- [Lou] Okay, great.

- [Brennan] Give me a
DC 10 perception check.

- I'm not good at perception.
- You got this.

- Or no, wait. You're
attached to it with destiny.

Wait, never mind, okay.
- Oh, sick. Okay, cool.

So I'll also roll a d20, and
that's an additional roll.

- [Brennan] New homebrew subclass.

- What's up?
- In situations with advantage

or disadvantage, Call of Destiny
means that Pinocchio can,

if within 60 feet of a
creature making a roll

with advantage or disadvantage
can roll a d20 himself

and replace one of the rolls.

- [Ally] So it's a 3d20 roll.
- [Siobhan] Yes.

- And you take the absolute
lowest or absolute highest.

- But like, slightly better

because someone can be
rolling with disadvantage

and you can replace one
of their lower numbers.

You know what I'm saying?

Like, you can kind of
call your shot with it.

- [Ally] Crazy.
- I'm gonna f*cking throw up.

- [Brennan] Okay, so disadvantage.

- Okay.
- [Brennan] Let's see.

- (puffing) I'm just blowing
on my little matchstick.

I warned you, Rosamund. (puffs)

- [Brennan] Give me your roll.

- Nat one, nat one, nat one!
(Siobhan laughing joyously)

- Yeah!
- Finally those broken dice

have come in clutch.
- Yes!

- Yes, yes!
- Your horrible dice!

- That die has been rolling like dog sh*t

for like, eight seasons.
- Dogfish!

- That was the-
- [Siobhan] Finally!

- Rolling like Dogfish.
- That's from "Fantasy High."

- All the way back, yeah.

- When Fabian had his bad
day, that was the die.

- That was the die.
- Yes, that was it.

- That was the Fabian's bad die.

- [Brennan] Okay...
- (laughs) Oh my God.

- So who are you giving
advantage to, by the way?

- And then I'm gonna
give advantage to you.

- Me?
- [Lou] Yeah, you need it.

- Yeah, that's true.

- [Siobhan] Yeah, you do need it.

- I'm in a bad place.
- Me? I'm in metal armor.

(cast laughing)

- You give it to Gerard.
- [Ally] Yeah.

- Pinocchio, you see
Mother Goose reach out

with some of that storybook magic.

You pull, all of you see
that the strand of fate

You pull, all of you see
that the strand of fate

that Pinocchio's holding onto bows

until a part of it goes rod straight

and realize it's taken the
shape of a fishing pole

as you like... (mimics
fishing reel buzzing)

- Sorry, Rosamund. I don't
know why it's not working.

(Emily puffing desperately)
- You do a little bit

and just with enough
time, this thing jerks.

You finally get enough room
to get a good breath in,

and that Big Bad Wolf,
(mimics fire roaring)

and a gout of flame
and you hear... (moans)

(Brennan imitates Dogfish about to sneeze)

(Brennan roars)

- [Emily] I bonus action go
into another rage and I drop it.

- And this thing, not
only does it regurgitate.

It uses a legendary action to do so.

So at the end of your turn
it regurgitates Rosamund

(snaps fingers) and Ylfa.
- [Murph] Yes, yes, yes, yes.

- Can I roll to see if the
action of regurgitation

makes me swallow the Goodberry?

(Ally and Emily laughing)

- Yeah, let's provide some canon here.

Go ahead and give me a
DC 15 constitution save.

- Oh, crap.

Oh, I did, yeah, yeah, 15.

- (laughs) 15? Cool.

So you, for some reason, you were trained.

Like, we cut all the way
back to you and be like,

now remember, this curse
will make you fall asleep

so we need to make it easy for nurses

and all sorts of people, if
they place a snack in your mouth

you... (laughs)
- Oh my God.

- [Brennan] You should-
- Remember, Sleeping Beauty.

- Remember, Sleeping
Beauty, you must be able

to imbibe all manner of-
- While you're asleep.

- Yes, you must be able to
consume bonbons, macarons,

all manner of sweet
treats while you are deep,

deep in unconsciousness.

And sure enough, the royal
training kicks in and you

(gulps) swallow a Goodberry.
(cast laughing)

Unbelievable.
- Oh, thank God!

I have one hit point.
- One f*cking hit point.

- Is it still popping up right
there? How does this work?

- It has used one of its legendary actions

to regurgitate them.

The end of Little Red Riding Hood's turn.

Puss in Boots, that's gonna be you.

- So it's still gonna
pop up right over here.

- [Brennan] I actually don't
think you know that right now

It's sort of like, its
routine has been interrupted.

(Emily laughing)

- Believe it or not.
- [Brennan] Believe it or not.

- Yeah, if you're walking in one direction

and you need to puke-
- It seems like it's not

gonna pop up this turn.
- You don't just kinda

hop right back in.
- Also, I will say this.

Pinocchio, on that sick-a*s roll,

you can't see 'cause of
where you're sitting,

but if Pinocchio looks behind him,

you will see the stand behind Pinocchio.

- [Emily] Firework.
- [Brennan] Fireworks stand.

(players gasp)

So yeah, Pib, what are you going to do?

- Pib is just gonna, if it doesn't seem

like it's gonna pop up this turn,

I'm just gonna attack
the guy in the water.

- [Murph] Yeah.

- And I have advantage
because of that help that-

- We can do this.
- [Zac] Tim gave me.

- [Murph] All right.
- So hopefully

we'll just ice this guy.
- [Lou] Ice him.

- Where did I?
- I think I'll still sink,

but I can breathe.

- You want me to do that or no?

- Mm...
- I can...

- When is...

Yeah.

- You're pretty close to the edge, right?

- Yeah, we're gonna have to
deal with them no matter what.

- Okay. How hurt is he?

- You could, you'd have
to use your reaction then.

I was gonna say you could hold
it and then just attack him

when he hops up on the dock if he does.

- I'll hold my reaction

for any fish people that come near me.

- You hold your reaction

for any fish people that come near you.

Okay, cool.
- Yeah and if...

I'll bonus action hide if I can.

- Sure, yeah. Give me a stealth check.

- Hold on a sec. Five, 10, 15, 20, 25...

I kinda wanna get up on this wheel.

- [Brennan] Yeah, go for it.
- [Lou] Hop up on a wheel.

- [Brennan] Cool.

- [Zac] I don't have any sticky

so can I just put it right here?

- [Brennan] Yeah.
- Okay.

(die taps table)

22.

- 22, hell yes.

Okay, you ready an action

for if any little fish guys come near you.

This merrow is going to attack Gerard now.

- Hm, can I try to cut
a deal with the merrow?

- (laughs) Gerard, you gotta give up.

- No, look, we're both gonna
get eaten here in the water.

I'll just kind of go limp.

You get us over to the docks

and then we finish this on the docks.

We don't want this. You don't
want the Princess to drown.

- He swipes at you with his claws,

dealing eight and then seven
points of slashing damage.

- Awesome, awesome stuff.
(Emily and Brennan laughing)

- And then is going to continue swimming

and is going to move
all of you through here.

- [Murph] Damn it!

- [Brennan] He's just
gonna leave the board.

He's just gonna swim out into open sea.

- Can I attack him?
- [Ally] Oh!

- Yeah, now attack him
now that we're there.

- If it's like... (laughs)

- Right as we pop out here that'll be...

- [Brennan] You want to attack him?

- If he was gonna be leaving,
I would attack him, I think.

- [Brennan] Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- Yeah, we're f*cked if we're-

- [Brennan] Go ahead and
give me an attack roll.

(die taps table)

- That is a 21.

- 21 hits. Go ahead and roll damage.

- Okay, sneak attack plus...
(dramatic music)

(dice tapping table)

That's...

14 damage.
- Okay, 14 damage.

Another throwing knife
goes into that merrow

(yelps) as it sort of hisses.
(merrow hissing)

- (laughs) Is that the
first time we hurt him?

(Brennan yelps roughly)

(Emily mimics Brennan yelping)

- This guy's the bane of my existence.

- Yeah, this guy sucks. (laughs)

- Frog v. Fish.
- I f*cking hate this dude.

- You see the merrow that
still is holding Mira

turns around to slash at you, Gerard.

Mira reaches in and takes out
this beautiful conch shell

that spirals down to this beautiful point,

puts her fingers into the
interior of the conch shell

almost like you would hold it-
- (gasps) Whoa!

- [Brennan] In the way that
you like, perfectly want to

and bashes the f*cking skull in
of the merrow. - Brass knuckles.

- Yes! f*ck this guy!
- Bam, bam, bam!

- [Murph] I hate this guy!

- [Brennan] I'm gonna need
another DC 20 athletics check

from you.
- Sick.

- Are you still Blessed, though?

- Yeah.
- [Emily] Okay.

- [Lou] Gerard, stay blessed.

- [Emily] Blessed, stay blessed.
- I stay blessed.

That's 21 already.

- [Ally] Yes!
- [Siobhan] Nice.

- Your giant frog legs just pumping

as you wear full chain mail in the ocean,

(Emily giggling)
trying to keep yourself aloft.

And Mira with her movement
immediately scoops an arm

underneath you to help keep you aloft.

- Much appreciated.
- Thank you.

- I'm gonna say that
actually she kills that guy

and then is gonna get both of you.

She breeches with this
kick of her legs, whoom,

and lands on the deck here.
- [Ally] So strong.

- She knows how to use her
feet better than any of us.

- [Brennan] As she
lands you see this like,

big wince on her face as
she lands hard on both feet.

Gerard, that is gonna be your turn.

- Okay, not going to make the mistake

of ignoring the fish guys again.

This guy might not get eaten anymore.

So we got that guy coming up.

I guess I'm just going to...

I'll run up and, mm...

Okay, if it pops up
right there I'm scared.

(Ally laughs)
- [Murph] I'll be so scared.

- [Ally] I'm so scared.

- I guess I will just run over to...

So we see this swirling
so we can kind of assume

that he's over there right
now, but we don't know.

- You kind of don't know
where he is right now.

- [Murph] Okay, great.
- He just sped up there.

- Great stuff.

In that case I think what I'll do is,

I will just get myself
to the bottom of these...

I will just get myself
to the bottom of these...

Or should I go to the top?

I'll go, I'll just, I'll
do my jump and go up here.

- [Brennan] Cool.

- And then I think I'll
just ready an action.

- [Brennan] Mm-hmm.

- To sh**t at the thing's eye with my...

- To sh**t at the thing's eye with my...

I can't do it 'cause I
don't have advantage.

You know what? Maybe I'll go next to Pib.

- [Brennan] Mm-hmm.

- Kind of try to block Pib if
somebody tries to go for him,

and then I will give Pib the help action.

- Oh, thank you.

- But you have advantage still, right?

- Not anymore.
- [Ally] Okay.

- I'll give Pib the help action
on whatever attack he makes.

I'll sh**t my bow to do cover fire.

- Pib's got the help
action. Hell yeah, awesome.

Gerard, at the end of your turn...

- I don't have an action anymore.

- Oh, Gerard, do you want to light a match

on your turn, too?

- Yeah, I'll light a little match.

- Where's the place you want
this fish to appear the least?

- [Ally] God, I hope he
doesn't go in front of me.

- [Siobhan] Oh my God,
if he goes for there.

- I mean, yeah, it would be pretty cool.

We have this huge ally
that we're absolutely-

- That's a good second beat
of the Mer-King going, right?

If the Sea Witch just goes. Yeah.

- She announces how much of a pain

she's gonna be for all of us.

And we're super worried and then...

- Get ready to get to know me.
(cast laughing)

- [Siobhan] Big bad of the season.

- Get ready to get to know me!
- I'm sticking around!

(players laughing)

- I love that as an intro
line, "Get ready to know me."

- [Emily] Get ready to...

Every NPC that comes out.

- Hi, get ready to know me.
- Get ready to get to know me.

- Go ahead and give me
another persuasion check.

(Lou blows on die confidently)

- God damn it.
- You got it, you got it.

(Lou boldly blows on die)

(players laughing)
- Practice that swing.

Practice that swing.

- [Emily] I can't believe
we've never been to Vegas.

- Isn't that crazy?
- That's crazy.

- Okay.
- Oh!

- Is that c*ck?
- Snake eyes.

- Sure. (blows on die suavely)

(players laughing)
- This is insane.

(Lou mimics rolling dice)
(players laughing)

(Lou blows on die softly)

- AXE Peace.
(die taps table)

- [Lou] It's a 12.
- [Brennan] It's a 12, huh?

- Plus super Bless.
- Oh yeah.

(players laughing)

- [Lou] 12.
- God damn it.

- [Emily] Didn't you actually
come in with a help action?

- [Ally] Mm-mm! Mm-mm!

- [Lou] Tim, Tim!
- [Siobhan] Tim!

- No!
- [Emily] No!

- Tim, you have a Goodberry.
Put it in your mouth.

- [Zac] You got your Misty Step.

- [Murph] Oh yeah, you do have Misty Step.

- [Ally] Yeah.
- [Brennan] Okay, all right.

(mimics water gurgling) These...

- [Murph] Just tackle Mira.
- [Ally] f*cking damn it.

- [Murph] Get out of there.

- [Ally] Mira's right on
the edge. Like, she might...

- [Murph] I think she'll get eaten.

I think she's in the zone.

- Okay, Mother Goose, that is your turn.

- Damn!
- Get out of there.

Get out of there-
- Oh, so you're nice to me?

Brennan's flirting with me!
(cast laughing)

- Holy sh*t!
- (laughs) I love...

- I know, cool.
- That's just,

that's the initiative order

for the first time in this
fight working in your favor.

- So you make something really scary

and then you went, get out of here.

- Great, so you're negging
me and flirting with Ally.

(Ally laughing)
Great, okay.

- Everything I do is a neg or a flirt.

- Yeah, yeah, yeah. I know that about you.

- [Murph] It's only the two things.

- Two sides.
- [Ally] Okay.

- Do you wanna, you
probably have to grab Mira.

- [Ally] Yeah.
- 'Cause I think she-

- I absolutely dash forward and I will...

Am I able to kind of
like, convince her to run

or do I physically need to move her?

- [Brennan] She doesn't
have movement right now.

- Okay, cool, yeah.
- [Brennan] She finished her turn.

- I mean, I am very strong and tall and I-

- Yeah, Timothy's always out and doing

more push-ups than me he says.
- [Zac] 8'9".

- Regardless of my kind of poor posture.

I sit up straight and then I run.

- You played rugby for six
years, right? Professionally.

- Yeah, I played rugby
for a long time. Yeah.

- Hell yeah, go ahead.

If you want to, go ahead and
give me, we'll just call it...

Let's call it an athletics check.

- Okay.
- You know what?

She just got out of the water.

She's not gonna try to resist it

so it's just a DC five athletics check.

- Oh, great.

Yes! Okay, 12.
- Okay.

Any actions from you on your turn?

- Yes, I am going to...

So I'm running and I'm pushing
her, or I'm grabbing her.

I would love to, yeah,
also get up there or get-

- This fish guy's gonna grab her again.

- [Ally] God damn it.
- These g*dd*mn guys. (laughs)

- Get the picture, dude.

- f*ck you, dude! Get outta here!

- [Siobhan] Read the freaking room!

- Get out of here!
- I'm gonna try to get...

Let's see, I will bonus action
cast Expeditious Retreat

on myself.
- [Brennan] Cool.

- And for my action, I am
gonna give the help action.

Do I just have to be able to see them?

- You have to be next to them.
- You have to be next to them.

I'm also gonna say that you
should use your bonus action

or your action to like, save Mira here.

- Okay, then cool. I'll use my action.

So was that the full 30 or
can I go closer to the...

- [Murph] No, you can
go to like, the ladder.

- I'll go to the ladder,
for sure, with her.

- [Brennan] All right, cool.
- [Ally] And...

- [Murph] Switching spots with her

so that she doesn't get grabbed.

- [Ally] Yes.
- I think just for the record,

if you cast Expeditious Retreat,
I think it's concentration

and then Bless would go away.
- Oh!

- [Brennan] Oh, Bless would
go away if you cast it, yeah.

- Great call, so I am not going
to do that. I am going to-

- Probably heal.
- Healing Word on those guys.

- Oh, Healing Word.
- [Siobhan] Oh yeah.

- Oh, that's a great call, yeah.

- Yeah, I have one hit point right now.

- Cool, I throw Healing Word.

- [Emily] I'm fine, no need to heal me.

- Cool, so you throw a Healing
Word across to Rosamund,

and it's truly like you
thundering down the dock,

boom, boom, boom, and
just Mira turning around

covered in water and you just like,

unceremoniously tackle her out of the way

'cause at the end of your turn
this whole thing comes up.

- [Ally] Oh my God.
- [Emily] Oh!

- [Brennan] So boom!
- [Emily] That's the place-

- [Murph] There's your shack.
- [Emily] Action movie.

- [Ally] Yeah.
- [Brennan] Yeah.

- Run! (laughs)
- [Brennan] Boom!

- [Murph] It might hit her.
It'll stay up, I think.

- [Ally] Six points of damage to you.

- [Siobhan] Oh, thanks.
- [Lou] Points of damage.

- [Emily] Six points of damage?

- [Murph] Points of healing damage.

- [Lou] You're done, you're done.

- [Murph] It's called healing damage.

- [Zac] Did you add your
spellcasting modifier?

- [Ally] Plus 4.
- Boom! The Dogfish emerges.

And that's at the end
of Mother Goose's turn.

You give your advantage there.

Rosamund, that's gonna be you.
- Great.

- Oh, can you sh**t it from here?

- Yeah, I think so. So
I'm gonna actually...

I'm gonna grab Red and pull us
over to this dock over here.

- Okay, cool.

- [Siobhan] That'll be my movement.

- [Brennan] Great.

- [Siobhan] And then I'm gonna

cast Zephyr Strike on myself again.

- [Brennan] Cool.
- [Ally] Nice.

- To roll with advantage
that turns into disadvantage

to sh**t this eye that's close.

- Yeah, baby!
- Hell yeah.

(Ally slapping table)
So incredible.

So you grab Little Red,

surge up out of the water, get there.

You can see, I actually can
see that you can see its eye

like, through the f*cking ladder.

Zephyr Strike gives you advantage.

Do you have advantage on both
your attacks or just one?

- Just one attack.
- Okay.

So you're turning this into disadvantage.

What is your bonus to hit?

- Plus 10.

- So I'm gonna let you know right now

this thing's armor class is only 17.

- [Emily] Okay, so the lower one-

- So you need both of these to be-

- [Emily] To be seven or above.

- [Murph] Seven.
- Seven or above.

- Oh my God.
- We'll use a Call of Destiny

on this, yeah.
- [Brennan] Do you have

your reaction back or no?
- Oh, I guess not.

- [Zac] When was the last time you...

- [Brennan] When was
the last time you used?

- The last time I used
it was on your turn.

- It would have been, yeah.
- Okay.

Yeah, so you don't have it back

so we need both of these
to be seven or higher.

(dice tap Box of Doom)

13 and what's the other one?

- [Siobhan] That's a seven.
- [Brennan] Seven!

- Oh my God!
(players cheer and clap)

- [Brennan] Yes! Oh my f*cking God!

- Good Lord!
- Yeah!

- Rosamund, you leap to
the dock, get your bow.

(Brennan mimics arrow
slicing air and impacting)

As this thing is falling,
this tiny, beady little eye

buried deep in the hoary, old
monstrous cavern of its eyelid

buried deep in the hoary, old
monstrous cavern of its eyelid

crusted with barnacles,
seawater dripping, an arrow.

(Brennan mimics arrow
slicing air and impacting)

(Brennan moans painfully)

As blood spurts-
(Ally groans)

Spurts out of the eye and Pinocchio,

you feel that strand of
destiny shake and shudder

as this old monster of
the deep (howls deeply)

feels a rage beyond expressing.

- So I still have another attack.

- [Brennan] Okay. Go for it, yeah.

- I am going to attack fish guy up here.

- Yes! Murph's nemesis.

- [Brennan] Hell yeah, I'm gonna say just-

- [Siobhan] Murph's nemesis?
- [Ally] Murph's bully.

- Just with the angle you have,

I'm gonna ask you to make
that with disadvantage.

- In which case I, with the Zephyr Strike

because I did my advantage this turn,

I'm gonna move another
30 feet over to here

which means that I will
have a regular shot.

- Oh, sick, great. Regular
shot, done deal, boom.

Sprinting backwards firing another arrow

is pretty f*cking sick.
- Sick, bull's eye.

(Ally mimics pulling bowstring and firing)

- And that is a 28 to hit that guy.

(Emily cheers)
- That is definitely a hit.

- And I'm gonna use my...

Ooh, which one do I- Actually?

Maybe I want to...

I'm gonna use, this guy's
an, hmm, I'm gonna use-

- He's partially injured

from Pinocchio's earlier Eldritch Blasts.

- [Siobhan] Great.
- [Murph] Oh, sick.

- But he can swim. I'll just use the d6.

I thinking about knocking him prone,

but it doesn't make very much difference.

- [Emily] Yeah, I think he's
fine in the water, though.

- I'm gonna reroll this...

To another one. Okay, so
that's 10 damage to that guy.

- 10 damage (mimics arrow
impacting) an arrow thuds

into the side of that merrow over there.

At the end of your turn you
know Il Terribile Pescecane,

thoom, is gonna get the f*ck out of there.

- I want him to come for me.

- He has a little water stuck
to his butt, by the way.

- [Brennan] Who does?

- The Il Terribile-
- Il Terribile Pescecane.

- [Brennan] Oh, he's got a little...

- It is super embarrassing,

and we just, we wanted
you to know for the edit.

- He's got some water on his a*s.

- Super embarrassing.

- There's a little bit of
water stuck on his butt.

- [Emily] Yeah, it definitely
looks like toilet paper.

- Oh sh*t, oh sh*t.
- [Siobhan] Wow, humiliating.

- [Ally] Oh my God.

- Maybe he just like, swims
away 'cause he's so embarrassed.

- [Brennan] And I think a boat

just fell out of his mouth too.

- Embarrassing.
- [Brennan] Okay.

- Embarrassing.
- God, that thing is so nasty.

- I love it. It's maybe
one of my favorite minis.

- Yeah, yeah, 'cause it's not a mini.

- It's a real maxi-mini.
- It's a maxi.

- [Brennan] Yeah, calling it, yeah-

- It's a maxi! That feels-
- It was such a sick maxi.

- [Emily] Ew!
- Oh my God.

- Okay, that is Rosamund's turn.

Pinocchio, that's going to be you.

- Coolio. What's up with these fireworks?

- [Ally] Yes.
- [Siobhan] Yes.

- You see a sick thing full
of fireworks back here.

You know that this is
the exact kind of thing

you would have relied
on if people were like,

stuck inside of the Dogfish.

But basically this is a way of
creating big, dramatic fire.

- Got it, so not as important
if no one's in the mouth.

- [Brennan] Correct.
- I think if we all

just like, light matches, we-

- Yeah, yeah.
- We'll be good on matches.

- As long as we have matches, we're fine.

- As long as you wade into battle

with just a tiny, little
lit match in your hand,

we should be 100% good.
- A full wolf holding...

- [Brennan] Full wolf holding...

- Can you just sh**t this f*cking dude?

- [Lou] What's that?
- 'Cause we need advantage.

- Yeah.
- Oh.

- I don't have that anymore.

- Oh, you don't have it anymore.

Great, maybe I'll do it next time.

- That's my new vibe.

- You remade yourself for
the New Year. That's cool.

- Yeah, what's up? I'm the Boy of Destiny.

(Siobhan laughing)
New Year, new me.

I mean, I guess I could
go find out what's up

with the Sea Witch.

- [Ally] (laughs) Give
her the help action.

- Maybe I could do something to find out

where he's gonna pop up so
then like, I'll hold a turn.

- Yeah, can I guess the...
- Definitely.

- Use the rod again.
- That is super useful.

- Hell yeah. Go ahead and
give me an insight check.

(die taps table)

- 17.

- He's coming for one of
the two middle places,

and you can decide which one.

- f*ck!
- [Lou] I think-

- Oh, closer to me. Closer to me.

Oh wait, there's too many people.

(Siobhan laughing)
- Yeah, excuse me!

Every major PC. (laughs)
- This is a real... (laughs)

This is a trolley problem situation.

Do you k*ll yourself
or all of your friends?

- [Lou] Well, I think I-

- [Murph] You still have movement.

- [Lou] I think I want it to be me.

- [Siobhan] Yeah.

- [Emily] Okay, so I think
I can still jump to him.

- I think I want it to be me, yeah.

- [Emily] Yeah.
- It can be me.

It'll be my side.
- Okay.

- Now, if I pick it to be my side,

if I move, will he follow me

or is it going to be my side regardless?

Or like, is it just going
to be this area regardless?

- He's not coming for just
places. He's coming for people.

- [Lou] Okay, got it.

So I'm picking either
myself or all of them.

- [Brennan] Yeah.
- Great, we'll pick me.

(laughs) We'll pick me.
- Pick the Sea Witch.

(players laughing)

- Better get ready to
keep getting to know me.

(players laughing)

- Another thing about
me, I'm a Sagittarius.

- Right, hello, everyone!
I've got a whole deal!

- Hey, here's a bunch of
fireworks. Go, go, go!

- I mean, grab the fireworks
if you pick yourself and run.

- I'll pick myself. Yeah,
I'll pick myself and...

- [Ally] And run? And join us? (laughs)

- Yes and Misty Step to all of my friends.

- That's how you solve the
f*cking trolley problem.

There you go.
- Can we get everybody?

- Yeah, and then can I hold
my action to cast Misty Step

when the thing comes up?

- Oh, smart.
- We'll do that.

- [Brennan] Yes.

- Wow, but still grab some
fireworks just in case.

- [Lou] Yeah.

- [Siobhan] Grab some firework.

- 15, 20, 25...

- [Siobhan] A little wooden boy.

- [Emily] Wait, I don't know if I'm going

to be able to jump onto him, though.

- [Siobhan] Very flammable child.

- [Ally] Oh my God, yeah.
- [Emily] If you go that far,

I don't think I can jump onto him.

- All right, you jump
over, object interaction,

you're gonna grab a
bunch of the fireworks.

You can grab a-
- [Lou] They don't come off.

- [Ally] That is so sick.
- [Lou] I tried.

- [Brennan] Oh, they don't?
- [Lou] Oh, they do?

Oh, they're stuck on there.
- [Ally] Oh my God, man.

- Weak little hand.
- Oh my goodness.

- Yeah, you weak little puppet.

- Well, I didn't want
to break Rick's sh*t.

- [Siobhan] You wanna break Rick's sh*t.

- [Lou] I didn't wanna break Rick's sh*t.

- Break Rick's sh*t.

- I don't wanna break Rick's sh*t.

I didn't wanna break Rick's sh*t.

- Wow, look how cool you look.

- [Brennan] Look how cool you look.

- [Ally] That's really cool.

- [Brennan] Strapped
with a bunch of rockets.

- [Ally] As big as you. Damn, that's so-

- All right, Pinocchio grabs
a shitload of fireworks.

Toy Island does kinda rule.
- Yeah.

And then I will... (laughs)

That's like, what is that?

Five, 10, 15, 20, 25.
- [Brennan] Yeah.

- [Lou] So I'll move five back.

- [Emily] Yeah.
- And I'll prepare

to Misty Step just into the
water near the Sea Witch.

- [Brennan] Cool.
- Near our new, interesting,

soon to be gotten to known
friend, the Sea Witch

for the minute the Dogfish emerges.

- So all of you are looking out

and seeing the bubbling, frothing
water surround Pinocchio.

- [Murph] Pinocchio!
- [Brennan] As he's just like,

helping himself to some fireworks.

- [Emily] Pinocchio!
- [Zac] Get out of there!

- Pinocchio!
- To the fireworks stand!

- Pinocchio, it's not
a time for expl*sives!

- Incredible, wave continues.

The Sea Witch whips this boat

and spins around this way and...

- Will that get him out of there?

- And screams out and says like,

That's a great shot!

The Terrible Dogfish, you've
got to get its other eye!

And you see after her initiative,

it is the Terrible Dogfish's turn.

Pinoc, 30 feet towards
the Sea Witch, correct?

- Well, now she's moved, but
I think it is, it's 30 feet.

- [Murph] Just get on that little,

get on that driftwood.
- [Lou] Like, this way.

- [Brennan] Cool.
- [Lou] I think I can...

I don't think I can swim,

but I don't think I'll immediately drown.

- You're wood.
- Yeah.

- Oh my God, he's made of ebony.

He's the only wood that sinks!

He's just gonna sink to
the bottom of the sea!

- You're like a torpedo.

- It sucks, but it's buttoned up!

(Ally laughing)
(water splashes)

- [Ally] God.
- [Zac] Which eye's been hit?

(Terrible Dogfish growling)

- [Murph] Yeah, do we
know which eye's been hit?

- [Siobhan] I think it was this eye.

- [Brennan] Yes.
- [Murph] Okay.

- 'Cause it was turned the other
way when I was sh**ting it-

- Yeah, you do need some
kind of line of sight

on the right eye.
- Oh, God.

- [Emily] Oh, is it this eye?

- He's literally only up
for like, a turn, right?

- [Siobhan] So this eye has been shot.

- [Ally] Yeah.
- Jesus Christ.

- [Siobhan] I shot this eye.

- [Ally] I need to get that
person advantage like, ASAP.

- Can you jump to those barrels?

- I can definitely jump. The question is-

- [Emily] I think I'm gonna jump here

and then try and recklessly attack.

- [Brennan] Hell yeah.
- [Siobhan] Oh, nice.

- It would be an option.

I don't have the stats that Rosamund does,

but we might as well
try as much as we can.

- Okay, the Terrible
Dogfish emerges, boom!

- Okay, the Terrible
Dogfish emerges, boom!

And that's gonna be
Little Red Riding Hood.

- Okay, so how far am I from being able

to get onto this eye?

- [Brennan] A good, fair distance.

- [Emily] Okay.

- [Brennan] You're probably
70 feet from the eye.

- So if I were to bonus
action turn into a lion...

- [Brennan] Mm-hmm.

- And I have 50 feet of movement,

and if I get a running start,

I can jump up to 25 feet.
- [Brennan] Okay.

- Would that get me onto its eye?

- 75 feet. So your movement
would have to be on the land.

But let's map it out, so that's five, 10-

- [Emily] The lion could zoom.
- [Brennan] 15, 20, 25, 30,

35, 40, let's measure from there.

So you need 35 feet, right?

That's very f*cking close.

I think give me, it's a
DC 15 athletics check.

- Okay, I think we gotta
try it. I'm in a rage so...

Come on, baby.
(die taps table)

I don't get it.
- [Brennan] Oh no.

- Bless?
- Wait, I'm bl...

Oh, that's an athletics check.

- Dang!
- [Brennan] Athletics check.

- All right, I'm a lion
in the water. (laughs)

But I'm also fine, you guys. I can...

(Brennan mimics water splashing)

- Sort of, just the massive,
sprawling cavernous mouth.

- Sort of, just the massive,
sprawling cavernous mouth.

- Well, so that was just my movement.

- Yeah, bonus action,
movement. You have an action.

- You have something you
can throw or anything?

- I mean...
- Oh, you're a lion.

- Yeah, I'm a lion to begin with.

Maybe there's nothing I can do.

- Can you give the help action
to someone who might go next

so they'd have advantage-
- Well, they-

- You could use your action

to try to grapple onto this thing.

- [Siobhan] Oh.
- Yeah, I'll do that, yeah.

- [Brennan] Cool, okay.
- [Ally] Oh, God.

- [Brennan] It obviously is gonna have

a f*cking bananas grapple.
- Yeah, I know.

- But I'll give you the number

you're trying to beat right now.

- [Ally] Who goes after you, usually?

- You're trying to beat a 16.

- I just rolled a five
and a four again so...

- [Brennan] Gotcha, okay.

- Oh, I'm rolling my bad dice. That's why.

- Yeah, get those outta here.
- These were...

- Get outta here.
- Get them.

- Get them outta here.

- These were the dice I was
supposed to roll. f*cked me up.

- Pib, that's gonna be you.
- [Ally] What would they...

- I kinda...
- Bad also.

- Mind if I pop over here?
- You do have the help action.

- All right. I just can't
see anything right there.

- Pib, running jump over water.

- I'm gonna, yeah, well...
- Yeah!

- Just go. (mimics wind whipping)

- Oh, yeah.

- So Pib is gonna dive 60 feet.

I don't wanna get in the water,
but dive towards this like,

whatever this f*cking thing
is called that are on ships.

- [Siobhan] Ship's wheel.
- Stand on the ship's wheel

and throw a dagger into the eye.

- Okay, so you're gonna try to jump

all the way over to here.
- [Zac] Yeah.

- [Brennan] Let's see...
- I have 60 feet

of movement right now.
- Feet of movement.

Okay, awesome, sick.

So in that case, yeah, I think that's...

But it's still a jump
so let me just see here.

- Oh sh*t, does that use
my help action if I jump?

- No.
- I can wait.

- If it's a roll, okay, your
long jump should be like,

20 feet horizontally.
- Yeah.

- Let's see if that's doable.
- I wanna just like, run to the front.

- It's not gonna be quite enough

to get you all the way there

so you're gonna need to
make some kind of roll.

But the help, you don't
need to use the help action

on your very next roll.
- Yeah.

- Go ahead and give me a DC,

we'll call it same, DC 15
acrobatics or athletics.

- Okay. (exhales softly)

- [Lou] Come on, come on, come on.

- Nat 20.
- [Brennan] Ooh, baby!

Pib, you sh**t out over the water

going to this captain's wheel here.

Go ahead, you have advantage
from the help action.

You have a piercing damage weapon.

Do you wanna roll with disadvantage?

- Yes.
- [Brennan] Okay.

- And you're Blessed.
- Now I'm Blessed.

- And you're blessed.
- Let's go ahead actually

and roll that d4 first for me.
- Okay, here?

- [Brennan] Yeah, go
right there. It's fine.

- Four.
- Holy sh*t.

Okay, what do you normally
add to your attacks?

- This is a plus 8.

- So now it's a plus 12.
- [Zac] Okay.

- So you just need both of
these to be a five or higher.

- [Lou] That we can do.

- Okay, okay, okay.
- We can do that.

- [Zac] Okay, okay, okay.
- We can do that.

(Ally slaps desk dramatically)
- Come on, Pib!

- [Siobhan] Come on, big money, big money.

- [Brennan] One's a four.
(players groaning)

17 and a four.

- Do you have your reaction yet?

- Do you have your save face thing?

- I don't. I used it to-

- [Emily] Wait, your save face thing.

- [Murph] What about your save face thing?

- Oh.
- You have a save face thing.

- Oh yeah, I can use my save face.

So once per short rest I can,
if you miss with an attack

or saving throw you can...

Wait, so...
- You see me.

- Yeah, you can see me.
I'm literally right there.

- The problem is, I'm not sure
if we counted it last time

when Beardsley used the ability on me

when I got hit and I had
to like, do that check-

- Oh, oh, no 'cause you used Silvery Barbs

which negated the attack altogether.

- Okay, great. So then I still have it.

- Yeah.
- [Ally] Yes.

- I see several people.
- Yeah, you see me.

- So that would be-
- I'm right here.

- One, two, three people
so I add three to that.

- So you needed a two or higher.

A four successfully does it!
- [Ally] Yes, yes!

(players clap and cheer)
- Unbelievable.

Pib, you hurl a knife (howls painfully)

into the eye of Il Terribile Pescecane.

- Get outta here.
(players laughing)

- [Brennan] The Terrible Dogfish
vanishes from Toy Island,

having destroyed, you know, many.

The funnel cake and cigar
shop is gone forevermore.

- [Ally] No!
- [Murph] No!

- [Lou] Pinocchio sheds
a single wooden tear.

- [Ally] (laughs) A splinter.
- Some sap.

- I love how many of us are in
the water right now. (laughs)

- [Siobhan] I know.
- A single wooden tear,

(mimics water rushing) as
the Dogfish swims away.

- I draw my blade and begin walking

towards this other fish guy.
(cast laughing)

- Oh yeah, wait.

- Now we settle the real fight!

- [Brennan] Yeah.
- No one help them.

One on one.
- One on one!

- One on one! (claps)
- I'm one v. oneing you!

- [Players chanting] One on
one, one on one, one on one!

- Incredible.
- Dandelion in the Breeze!

(players laughing)

- Okay. f*ck it, I'll roll
in front of the board.

Merrow's gonna run forward at you.

(dice tap table)

That's a nat one, but will charge forward,

leap to the top of this, and is going-

- k*ll him!
- The battle for the ages!

- k*ll him!
- You've got him, Gerard!

- He's actually just, he's actually trying

to kick you off of the...

So give me an athletics check.
- [Murph] sh*t!

- You're trying to beat a-
- Get outta here!

- [Brennan] You're trying to beat a 21.

(players laughing)
- Don't roll that dice.

- I have a lot of stuff.
- That's a bad one.

- No, no, no.
- That one rolled poorly.

- This one's the good one.
This one has turtles in it.

- Ooh!
- Yeah, 26.

- He tries to kick you in the chest.

- f*ck you, f*ck you! I
tried to be your friend!

- That's my frog!
- I tried to be your friend!

- Gerard, it's your turn.
(Murph screams)

- Come on, Gerard, come on!
- [Lou] Come on, Prince!

- Uh...
- Oh my God.

- 16 to hit.

- 16 hits.
- [Emily] Yeah!

- Come on, Gerard!

- Use superiority!
- Get him, k*ll him!

- [Siobhan] Gerard, you can do it.

- I'll use a superiority die
to do a Maneuvering Strike

just to hit him harder.

- A cat just k*lled a giant
fish and now... (chuckles)

- Just wrestling having, I barely, I...

11 damage.
- [Brennan] 11 damage.

- Yeah.
- You hit him for 11 damage.

He is badly injured.
- God damn it!

- [Lou] Gerard, come on!
- All right, I just wanna...

- [Ally] I was so hoping that would-

- Die, die!
- [Siobhan] Second attack!

- He is looking messed up.

- Okay, 19 to hit.
- Okay, gonna hit.

- 19 to hit. That's gonna hit.
- [Emily] Come on, come on.

- Gerard, come on, Gerard!
- Come on, Gerard.

- Please!
- Come on!

- Before you tell me,

I'm gonna write down how
many hit points he has.

Hold on.
- [Ally] Yes. (laughs)

- [Murph] Okay.
- Just want it to be honest.

- [Murph] I'm going to-
- If we don't k*ll-

- I'm going to burn my
last superiority die.

- Can this go over the credits?

Can the credits be rolling
this whole time? (laughs)

- [Brennan] Yeah, for sure.
- Okay.

- Okay, that's better.
- That's 14 damage.

(Emily laughs)
(tense dramatic music)

- Come on, please.
- [Lou] Come on, Gerard.

- Oh no, no, no!

- [Murph] You can't.
- Say it.

- [Emily] No, Brennan.
- [Murph] You can't.

- Say it, say it.
- Brennan!

(Brennan sighs dramatically)

- He had nine hit points left.
(players cheer and clap)

- Good Lord.
- [Siobhan] Gerard!

- [Brennan] Yes!
(Murph screams aggressively)

- We will tell your wife about this day!

She'll be very impressed!
- I'm the hero of this fight!

- Yeah, Gerard and Sea Witch.
- I'm the hero of this fight.

- Pinocchio didn't drown, did he?

- No, I'm okay.
- [Murph] Okay.

- Sea Witch, I want you to
know that man's a real hero.

- Right, well, it seems like the Dogfish

was more the archer and the cat.

- Nope!
- No, no, no.

- These guys suck.
(players laughing)

- These guys were really going after us.

- Right, well, I showed up
to help, but you know...

(laughs) Sorta didn't do
a lot, but congratulations

to all of you on your defeat
of the Terrible Dogfish.

- Thank you.

- Can we get in your boat with you?

I can't touch the water. Oh
no, he's gone, nevermind.

- Yeah, he got eaten first round.

- That guy got eaten pretty bad.

- He got eaten kinda immediately.

- I mean, you see Ylfa's in
the water so we're good to go.

- Just a lion, wet lion in the water.

(Emily laughing)

- All of you look and see that
your laughter and merriment

having survived the attack

of this terrible monstrosity of the deep,

staring at the Sea Witch, a
look of frozen rage on her face,

(Siobhan gasps)
the Little Mermaid beholds

the woman who took her
voice, draws a weapon,

and that's where we're
going to end today's episode

of "Dimension 20: Neverafter."
- Oh, uh-oh.

- Tune in next week as
we join the Sea Witch

here in what remains of
Toy Island, farewell!

(waves crash)
(dramatic music)

You've decided that you're
bringing the young lass

off to this council of princesses, then.

- Yeah.
- We're not sure necessarily

that the princesses, of
which I kind of am one,

but you know what I mean.

- It's hard to know if
they're like, actually good

or if they're just like, young and hot

and look cool with weapons.
- [Siobhan] Right.

- If you're just a mule
in a post-apocalypse,

you can just hang out.

- What happens if all those weird lines

rip apart all the sweet
grass in the world?

- (puffs nervously) That'd be really bad.

(Brennan snorts gruffly)

(Emily snorts aggressively)

Bonjour, mademoiselle.

- Bonjour, miss.

Ma'am? Mademoiselle.

- Our next goal is to
make sure that that ink

does not fall into the
hands of the fairies.

That ink is destiny itself.

- I don't think hoping for love is bad.

- Love is wonderful. I think
there are many who deserve it.

- But I don't know if you get
love just by deserving it.

- No, I think deserving
is a little bit too close

to destiny for my taste.
- Mm-hmm.

- It looks to me like
that book is mostly blank.

- Yeah.
- I've seen many true books.

I've never seen a blank true book before.

(dramatic music softens)

(spooky music)

(spooky music continues)

(spooky music continues)
