career step forward.

What's a way that you get
into emotion in the storytelling?

I see it in my mind.

I'm in that old house

My mom's giving me away

because she can't afford
to feed me anymore.

Every lyric, it's either
this or it's like

Yeah. If I have that story,

whatever comes out of my
mouth, hopefully you will feel that

because it was so
intensely felt by me.

That's great advice.

If you're not feeling it,

how are you gonna

That advice really just flipped
the switch and I was like,

So what have you
picked to sing today?

by Shawn Mendes.

And I chose this one
because it's up-tempo,

but it still has kind of
a grieving message.

I'm not necessarily grieving
a relationship right now,

but I totally am
familiar with the feeling.

I've been in relationships

that I thought were
gonna be end all, be all,

and I definitely immediately
think of those relationships

when I do sing this song.

But right now, I
am beyond grateful.

I met my boyfriend, Tevin,
two and a half years ago.

We clicked right away.

We live together, and I
mean, he's my best friend

in the whole wide world.

Michael is a pop singer

with unbelievable
drama to his voice

and can really sell a song,
so this is gonna be exciting.

which is super important when you've

just made me a little nervous
