"The princess loved the poor farmer,
but the princess' grandmother, the queen,
would not allow her to marry a peasant.
So the queen locked her away
high in her tower."
When she was taken away by space aliens!
[all] Shh!
"'You are a princess,' the queen told her.
'You should marry a prince!'"
Queen Granny, my heart belongs to Calvin,
the carefree Cucamongan cabbage farmer!
[singing]
Oh, make me your cabbage-farm guy
And you'll be my cabbage-farm gal
And we'll raise lots of coleslaw
And julienne fries
And life'll be, oh, so swell
How can you love a cabbage farmer?
Cabbage stinks. You'll stink!
Queen Granny, I have a deviated septum.
[snorts] I can't smell anything anyway.
Hmm.
The steam from this royal humidifier
should open your nose.
[pants]
Maybe then you'll wake up
and smell the sauerkraut.
[Granny] "Soon the princess' nose
would start running,
followed, the queen hoped, by her feet."
Don't move, Calvin! I have a plan!
"And they all lived happily ever after.
The end."
Huh?
The end? Granny, how can that be?
The princess hasn't escaped
to marry her true love Calvin yet.
Hmm?
Oh, dear me, Lola, you're right.
I didn't realize these pages were missing
when we checked this book
out of the library.
We'll have to tell the librarian
so she can buy a new copy.
But what happens to the princess?
Oh, I'm sure she lives happily ever after.
Princesses always do, you know.
Why don't you little ones play
until the rain clears up?
Then we'll get that book
right back to the library.
Now I'll never know if the princess
escapes and marries Calvin,
the clueless Cucarachan cabbie canner!
Gee, I wonder
if I can survive the suspense!
Hey, I know! Why don't we just draw
the rest of the story ourselves?
Book drawing? Are you sure we can?
That's for grown-ups!
Nonsense, Sylvester.
Drawing is what babies do best!
-[Daffy grunts]
-Excuse me, Daffodil.
Excuse me, Mr. Hamster,
but my true love awaits.
Calvin! Start up the donkey!
We're headed for the cabbage farm!
Princess! You're making a mistake!
Farming will ruin your fingernails!
-Wait!
-Huh?
Taz make story too.
[grumbles indistinctly]
Goblin want princess!
For goblin cave!
Dear Mr. Goblin, grant me my freedom
and I shall give you...
all my gumdrops.
[Taz gasps]
Gumdrops? Ooh! Goody-goody!
-Give me, give me, give me.
-Wait!
What if the princess
was actually the royal gumdrop maker?
Trapped by the gumdrop-gobbling goblin,
forced to make chewy gumdrops
all day and evening.
What kind of gumdrops do you like,
Mr. Goblin?
[Taz grumbles indistinctly]
We got raspberry gumdrops
and granny-apple-green gumdrops,
and gravy-flavored gumdrops.
Golly, goblin. You're gobbling
a great big gob of gummy gumdrops.
Wait!
I like yellow gumdrops myself.
Hey, look at me. I'm a gumdrop.
Ooh, that puddy-tat got good taste.
And cut.
Cut, cut, cut.
As the director of this picture,
I've got to know,
who are you supposed to be?
Well, um, I'm just me.
I mean, do I have to be somebody else?
Can't you guys just like me for being me?
Why, certainly.
Just as long as you're...
a space alien from outer space,
ha, ha, invading Earth!
In another thrilling episode
of Duck Diaperless: Space Cadet!
Hold it! Where's the princess story?
I thought we were doing a princess story.
All right, alien. Drop that gumdrop.
-But-- But--
-Drop it, I say.
Drop it, drop it, drop it.
Huh?
Oh. A wisenheimer, eh?
[all gasp]
Help!
Thanks, Lola!
Back off, dollface.
This story's mine. Mine, mine, mine!
Hey! What you doing?
Making room for the hero, duck.
You're despic-- You're despir--
You're despic--
You're a stinker.
Ain't I, though?
That's because he's a cabbage farmer.
Who's come to rescue the princess.
Calvin, I love you.
But this is my fairy tale,
and I can rescue myself.
Aw.
Now let's go home and make coleslaw.
And so they did.
And they lived happy everly after.
The sky's all clear.
Now let's get that damaged book
to the library and find a new one.
Eh, uh, but we fixed it up, Granny.
-We all did.
-Good as new.
My, my, it's better than new.
Aren't you all just
the most gifted little storytellers.
I'll keep it always.
But, Granny,
this book belongs to the library.
We can't keep it.
I'll just buy a new copy
for the library myself,
so I can cherish this one right here
forever and ever.
Now, this is what I call a happy ending.
