- Hello, one and all!

Welcome back to another episode of

"Dimension 20: Fantasy High Junior Year."

I'm your humble dungeon
master, Brennan Lee Mulligan.

With me as always are our Intrepid Heroes.

Say hi, Intrepid Heroes.

- [All] Hi, Intrepid Heroes.

- Last we left off. It was a
thick 'sode last time, g*ng.

- As you do.
- Chonky.

- [Brennan] Chonky.
- Absolutely.

- Chonky ep.

We went to Loam Farm.

We learned about the strange soil.

We saw a vision in a
corner booth at Basrar's,

of the inside of a burning god carcass.

And then we made our way to Fallinel.

Adaine got a little bit of an assignment

from your wizard teacher,
Tiberia Runestaff, all about-

- f*ck, I forgot I have homework.

- I forgot I have homework.

About the power released
by breaking curses.

You got to Kei Lumennura,

where we got to see Telemaine again.

- Still doesn't my friend's names.

- [Brennan] Still doesn't
know your friend's-

- [Siobhan] He's got a Yak Bak.
- He's trying, but I still-

- [Lou] He's got a Yak Bak.
- Yak Bak, exactly.

- I don't know if I gave it back.

[all laughing]

- Well, he doesn't have a Yak Bak.

- I gave him a rock that did it.

- There you go, you gave
him a rock that did it.

And we also went to the
Wolfsong encampment,

where we had a great snowball fight,

we got some hot cocoa.

We saw Tracker, she's doing great.

We saw Naradriel, Nara, you know.

Maybe we have some criticisms of her,

but she seems to care for
Tracker in her own way,

and that's always nice.

- Yeah.
- Sure.

- [Brennan] Sure!

- They're happy, I'm happy.

- Everyone's just happy
that each other's happy.

- Totally. She just didn't
seem happy, so I don't know.

- We then rolled up to a
circle of standing stones

that seemed to predate

even the earliest forms of Elven worship

of Galicaea, the moon goddess.

And in investigating those places

with Tracker and Nara present, Riz Gukgak,

along with a dancing line of
rats that like to show hole

[all laughing]

dug-
- We never said that, actually. This was-

- [Siobhan] Brennan, that was you.
- They like to show hole?

They love to show hole.
- [Siobhan] You improvised that.

- I want you to know.
- You just made that up.

- We did re-shoots where Brennan said,

"You all say they show hole."

- You guys need to say this.

I can't have, I'm squeaky clean.

- First time we've ever done re-shoots.

- The record will hold true.

I think it's pretty clear,
after many seasons of this show,

when the recaps get to stuff you guys did,

okay?
[all laughing]

You know?

- We see it in your notes.

It says, "The rats show hole."

- The rats, not only do they show hole,

but that they love to show hole.

- They love to show hole.

- So, what we would probably
call the mid act two act break,

important point of
information in the season,

was triggered by rats who show hole.

- That's gonna be in-
- Yep, decorated with-

- The wiki for this season,

it'll say, "Hey, the big moment

where we learned the god's
name, rats who show hole."

- A merch pitch is just sort
of a rat with its legs up,

just all of this is blurred.

- Yeah.
- It's a puppet.

- The name Ankarna.
- [Siobhan] Yes.

- The sibling of Ruvina, Ankarna.

- I got an upgrade from the napkin

that Brennan passed me last episode.

- Art hates it when I write on a napkin.

Discovering that there were

some strange instances in history.

You knew that it was possible

for gods to be corrupted, right?

You, after all, went and
found the Nightmare King,

and returned Cassandra to her
form in your sophomore year.

A little bit of a stranger history,

through the course of some
kind of summer solar divinity,

over time changing into something

with fire and rage and
something more infernal.

But the timeline being way longer,

and more sort of gradual
over this period of history,

you found the wedding contract

written here on these ancient stones,

between on Ankarna and Cassandra.

At that moment, speaking the name aloud,

everything flew into action.

The twilight shards of Cassandra,

the last thing left of her
form in this material world,

glew- glew? Glowed? Glew? Glew?

- [Ally] Glew.
- Glowed.

- [Brennan] Glowed.
- Glowed, definitely not glew.

- Glew?
- [Siobhan] That is absolutely incorrect.

- Glew.
- Glew.

- You blow, you blew, something blew.

You blew the candles out.

- The shard showed hole.

[all laughing]

- Glowing in the past tense,

these shards erupted in twilight light,

and we also saw the moon glow bright.

Ethereal yellow Armor of
Pride appearing around Fig,

the curse-made material
attempting to destroy her,

the moon ripping that away.

Mirror reflections from the
twilight shards appearing.

Riz, thinking fast, threw his
extradimensional briefcase

over Figueroth Faeth,
as a nat 20 Counterspell

from Adaine Abernant also
saved her friend's life

as the curse was broken,

sundered into different parts of armor,

scattering throughout,

that turned into various
and sundry yogurt cups

and dirty spoons, and
a pair of old sandals

made of ethereal yellow light.

As you each jumped into the briefcase,

being grabbed by Aelwyn,
to follow Figueroth

down the spiral of Riz's
various texts and notebooks,

and you arrive in Figueroth
Faeth's room in Mordred,

though a somewhat strange and

eerie reflection of Figueroth's room.

The house feels unsettling,
[haunting music]

and having fallen down the path with you,

you see here, all of you
gathered around in Fig's space.

Standing in front of the mirror is-

- [Siobhan] [gasps] b*tch Baron.
- Baron from the Baronies.

[people gagging]
- He's back?

- I cut him in half.
[all laughing]

- Do you attack Baron?
- No, I'm kidding.

- You see he turns to
each of you and says,

"Riz Gukgak, a pleasure
to meet your friends.

It is, after all, a long time coming."

- Riz, do you know this guy?

- Sort of.

- You have not told them
about your romaence paertner?

- Riz, are you dating this guy?

- No. [laughs uncomfortably]

- We have to-
- It's so complicated.

[all laughing]

I made it up, okay!

- You remember when Riz

talked about Baron from the Baronies.

- Baron from the Baronies.
- Yeah.

- Oh, this is Baron.
- This is Baron.

- Baron, it's so nice to meet you.

It's weird that Riz

has been keeping you a
secret this whole time.

- I wasn't keeping him a secret.

I said I was dating
Baron from the Baronies,

but I made that up.

But then, he became real.

- To everyone here in this place,

I am sorry that my romance
partner, Riz Gukgak,

has lied so much about my nature.

Has he told you of- and you
see his head fully rotates

'til it's upside down.

Of my stark father.

- Of your what?
- My stark father.

He waits for you all in the shadows.

He wants to make your name

something that cannot hurt you anymore.

- I'm actually just like,
"Riz, is this actually-

are you actually dating?"

- No, we're not dating.

- How serious is it?
- Okay.

- Riz, we don't wanna yuck your yum.

We don't wanna yuck your yum.

- Okay, you know how
sometimes people make stuff up

to avoid an awkward conversation?
- No, I actually don't.

Fig doesn't relate to that.

- Okay.
- What awkward conversation

were you trying to avoid?

- If I recall, and this
was only a few months ago,

but we were all talking

about the various people we were dating,

so I said that I was dating
a "Baron from the Baronies."

A clear lie that

maybe other people could've
picked up on, but didn't.

And then, you know, Baron was manifested,

and I think is talking
about the Nightmare King?

- Oh, my stark father.
- Yeah.

- Wait, your stark father is-
- Tony Stark?

[all laughing]

- Hey, you don't have to look
at me when we're talking.

I'm just gonna say some stuff.

Maybe I'll just say it over here.

- Great.
- Yeah.

- But talking about Baron's stark father.

- Would it help if I
went up on the ceiling?

- No, no, stay here.
- It would help me.

- [Ally] No, no!
- [Lou] Oh my god.

- So fast!

- We knew he was gonna spider walk.
- So fast.

- We knew he was gonna spider walk.

- [Lou] Baron.
- So chittery.

- All of you hear bells
chiming throughout Mordred.

[bells chiming]
Gong, gong.

- Did we always have a bell here?

- You see that a clock in the corner reads

- What's gonna happen at midnight?

- Wait, how did we get here?

- Why is a bell chiming at 45?

- The bells chime every 30 seconds.

- What?
- [Zac] Every 30 seconds?

- That's insane.
- Baron.

Did your dad-
- Is this really my room?

- Are you really you?

And he takes his head off,

puts it in his vest, and goes like this.

- This doesn't scare me.

- You can't look at us like that.

- I don't think he's trying to scare-

- This is so scary.

- I don't like him at all.

- This is just Baron being Baron.

- Can I do an Insight check into this?

What I wanna see is...

you know in dreams, you
can't read anything?

- [Brennan] Mm-hmm.

- Can I look around,

and see if that's the vibe of this place?

- I read the clock just now.

- I'll look for my Les Claypool poster,

my Bootsy Collins poster,

and my Tina Weymouth poster.

- Great.

I did get a nat one.
- Okay.

- I got a nat 20.
- I can't read anything.

- You got a nat 20.
- Okay, okay.

It's your room.

- You can only read quite large text.

As you begin to look closer at text,

it fades away into kind of a scribble.

Larger graphic design things are there,

like you see some posters in your room,

you see some other stuff that's
like, okay, I can read that.

But, things begin to sort
of fade and become weird.

On a nat 20, you are certain

that you are in an extradimensional space.

This happened because Riz
threw the briefcase over you

to get you out of the standing stones.

- Okay, so it's extradimensional that way.

'Cause I've been f*ck'
with dreams these days.

- Yes.
- And this doesn't feel like that.

- Well, in a weird way-
it maybe it doesn't feel

like you're exactly in the dream realm,

but it feels dream-like.

It feels very malleable.

It doesn't feel-

there's parts of your room
that are recognizable.

- Can I try to fly?

- You try to fly, and are not able to fly.

- We're not lucid dreaming, guys.

- I start flying, just to f*ck with you,

'cause I have Steps of Night.

- What, how?

- Can I click over from
invisible to Ethereal Plane?

- Give me a Perception check.

[suspenseful music]

[Siobhan scoffs]

- Almost a 20, it was a two.

- Looking up at Baron ethereally,

you see that he's in a
corner of the ceiling,

but there's a crack behind him,

and it looks like there's
almost an appendage in his back

that is stretching out
through the crack in the wall,

and you hear, only ethereally,

the skittering of limbs,
as though a much larger

portion of his body is outside the room.

- It would make sense.

We live in a haunted house.

It would make sense that it
has access to multiple planes.

- On that nat 20,

you get the sensation that this realm,

this version of Mordred Manor,

you can smell magic. And it smells

like the same cool mist, twilight,

and you see that, as the light flickers,

as you guys move around in the space,

you see something pulse
from Kristen's pocket

with the twilight shards.

You think that the twilight shards

are creating this bubble, this realm.

- So, Cassandra's been corrupted again,

and that would make
sense why Baron's here.

This is Nightmare King stuff.

- Yeah.

Baron, did your stark father
disappear for a little while,

and did he just come back?

- My stark father, he is very cross

because not truly can he come back.

- What was the thing you
said earlier about names?

- My stark father does not wish

to ever be referred to by his name.

- He only wanted to be stark father?

- Stark father, I call him,

but there are other titles
by which he is referred.

- Cassandra?

[Brennan shouts incoherently]

- Baron leaps down, touches
the mirror in Fig's room

and goes, "You will die here,

and then there will be
none that remember her."

- [Ally] I cast Circle of Power.

- [Brennan] You cast
Circle of Power, boom.

All of you are in this space.

If there are any checks
you all want to make here,

you may go ahead and make-

- I wanna open some doors,
and start exploring,

and see if there's other rooms.

- Yeah, I would like to
make an Arcana check.

- I'll follow Fig, but I'm...

The armor is somewhere in
here as well, I believe.

- Also, by the way, Ragh
Barkrock is with you, as well.

All of you, before we actually
jump into these skill checks,

I'm going to need everybody
here to take a card,

read the card, and do
whatever it says on the card.

- Show hole?

[Siobhan laughs]

- Mine also says show hole.

Brennan, what the f*ck?

- Brennan.

- You can't just write that on a-

- Okay, so if it tells me to
make a save, I should do it?

- The part in bold,
your character perceives

and is allowed to notice and share.

But, yes, just make whatever roll

it tells you to make on the card.

- Okay.

[dice rattling]
[tense music]

- Nat 20.
[tone chimes]

- Nice.
- Oh my god.

- I passed my Wisdom save.

- I just passed it, I met the DC.

- [Brennan] Just passed it. Okay, awesome.

[dice rattling]
[tense music continues]

- [Zac] Okay, passed it.

- I'm gonna point out to everyone

that the shadows are moving,

but the objects casting them remain still.

Has anyone else noticed that?

- No.
- [Lou] No.

- No, it's just really
cold in here, and windy,

and the house is very creaky.

- I heard chains, and then the mirror

was trying to do something to me.

- I also-
- Okay.

- I smell wet earth.

- Some fingers are coming out my elbows.

- What?
- What the?

Ew!

- I mean, they're not there,
but it just feels like it.

- So I cast Mislead,

which means I have an
illusory double of myself

that I can see through its
eyes, and hear through its ears.

Can I send it into the mirror?

- As you go to send your
illusory double into the mirror,

give me a spellcasting attack.

- Okay.

[die rolling]

- Hey.

- You send your illusory
double into the mirror.

[ominous music]

As you do so, you can sort of dimly see

other mirrors throughout the
house, like other openings.

There is a vast sea of darkness.

There's almost points

that look like lighthouses
across dark ocean.

And you could send your illusory
double to swim out there,

past them to these other points,

or you could just try
to focus your vision,

and see if you can see
through those other openings,

distant though they are.

- Yeah, I'd like to just focus my vision.

- [Brennan] Give me a Perception check.

[eerie music]

[die rolling]

- 19 on the die becomes a 24.

- [Ally] Nice.

- You see a dimly lit chapel

with a rack of clothes in it

that you recognize as Kristen's room.

You see a bedroom with
a larger bed within it

that appears to be Jawbone
and Sandra Lynn's room.

You see the foyer, sort of
the front room of the house.

And the last one you see
is at the upper balcony,

at the top of the grand
staircase, looking down.

- Is that one Adaine's, the one
at the top of the staircase?

- No, the staircase is actually

just a grand staircase entrance

near the front of the
house, past the foyer.

You, on that very high Perception check,

see a faint yellow glow

coming from Kristen's room.
Near enough to the mirror

that you can see at a distance

that there is some
sickly cream yellow light

in Kristen's room.

- I'm just gonna keep
pushing my illusory double.

- Yeah, I mean, if it
curses your illusory double,

it doesn't do anything.

- Yeah, I'm gonna shove my illusory double

into Kristen's room.

Any drawers I should not look in?

- [Brennan] Give me-
- All of 'em.

I like to spread it out.

- [Brennan] Give me one last
Perception with advantage.

[all laughing]

- Oh, that's where that one went.

- Oh, almost a 20.

Two eights, so a 13.

- You push your illusory
double out into the darkness.

Underneath you, almost like someone

swimming in the deep ocean

that becomes aware that as
the water darkens around them,

it is simply because a creature
approaches from underneath.

You see

green slitted eyes, and cat fangs.

[Brennan snarls]

And your illusion is eaten and dispelled.

- Was that Kalina?

- Looked like it.

- [Siobhan] f*ck, that b*tch!

- You come to, and you guys
can all take some time here,

if you would like to-

- Oh yeah, my Arcana.

- What sort of knowledge

are you seeking here, in this place?

- We saw Baron.

He looked like he was being controlled.

Do I get some sort of...
divine sense isn't the word,

but just some sort of omen
from the shards about,

like are we in very
insane danger right now?

What's my alert level need to be?

- You feel that you are in
very intense danger right now,

and furthermore, I
think what you recognize

from interacting with Baron is Baron

would not have been repelled
by Cassandra's name.

The Nightmare King has not returned.

It has not returned, because you're here.

You know Cassandra's name,
and still believe in her.

- And I'm just this last thread,

other than, obviously-

- So, you have a sensation
that you might be here

as the Nightmare King wishes to return.

- Yeah.

- [Brennan] That this is a
place to bring you to k*ll you.

Cutting over to Adaine real quick here.
- Yeah.

- You believe, on an 18 Arcana check,

that you broke

the curse on Fig.

- Uh-huh.

- But you're in this
extradimensional space.

It's almost like things
that were metaphorical

had become literal.

So it's like a broken curse

is scattered around the
inside of this realm,

like broken pieces of a physical object.

And they are still very dangerous.

I think on the 18 Arcana,
it might also occur to you

that this place is provided
to you by Cassandra,

but Cassandra's also partially corrupted,

so it's a safe haven, but
it's also a death trap.

There's conflict about what it is,

or what it's trying to do.

But you know that the magical
source of that Pride Armor

is something totally different,

and unconnected to the Cassandra stuff.

And that that is just a
source of raw magical power

that might be here, and able
to get you out of this place.

- Oh, interesting.

- I'm going to summon eight smoke mephits.

Once a day, they can cast Dancing Lights,

so essentially I'm gonna assign
everybody a smoke mephit,

and I'll keep two.

[Emily giggles]

- [Brennan] And they can all
cast Dancing Lights, gotcha.

- They can all cast Dancing Lights, which-

- Are they flavored
like little weed leaves?

- Yeah, that seems really Adaine.
- Classic Adaine.

- [Brennan] Yeah, Adaine, classic stoner.

- Classic Adaine.

- [Brennan] So-

- Since I saw Kalina, in my invisibility,

could I have Hexblade Cursed her?

- Hell, yeah. I'll allow that.

Actually, as you Hexblade Curse her,

with that magical connection,

you hear again, [snarling gasp]

"Ragh!"

- She f*ck' wants Ragh.

- She's obsessed with Ragh.

- Or we're hearing Lydia calling.

- I'm gonna ask Emily,
Siobhan, Lou, and Murph

to each roll a d8 for me.

- This guy.

- I'll be back.

- I got an eight.
- I got a six.

- Seven.

- Three.
- Awesome.

Is there anything else you do in this room

before you open the door?

- I'll throw up a Bless on everybody.

- [Brennan] Circle of the
Power is not Concentration?

- Teddy Bear.

- Teddy Bear, f*ck!

- They got double Concentration.

- I also am still using Warding Bond

'cause I never dropped it.
- [Brennan] Hell, yeah.

Incredible.
- Great.

- Let's all stick around Kristen,

and start opening doors.

I've got See Invisibility
and Detect Evil and Good.

- I got my lantern, which-

- I've got steampunk glasses

that I can switch the little lenses.

- And I'm just seeing
into the ethereal realm,

so everything looks kinda like a 3D movie,

if you don't have your glasses on,

everything's slightly two worlds,

superimposed on one another.

- Surely we won't be split up.

[all chuckle]

- You guys open the door.

As you do so, you hear clocks ticking,

and you do not recognize the hallway

that leads from Fig's room.

Which you remember, Fig's room
is actually only accessible

by a trap door up in the ceiling.

- Oh, right.
- Do we need to go through the mirrors?

- So you see a hallway leading out,

but effectively, it's like Mordred Manor

is a little bit alien
and unfamiliar to you.

As you are going to
move through this space,

there are Perception
or Investigation checks

to find the room in the house
that you're looking to find.

- Okay.

- And there are also
going to be Stealth checks

as you move through the house,

if you don't wanna cause a big racket,

or let your position be known.

Looking at this large group of you,

you will auto-fail Stealth checks

if you travel in groups of four or more.

So three is the number that allows you

to make a Stealth check in general.

- Including the mephits?

- So maybe, yeah.

- Mephits are so small.

- They're so small.
- They're so smoky.

- I'll say the mephits don't count.
- Great.

- Yeah, it's not like they're walking.

- I mean, classic horror movie.

Should we split up, three and three?

- I thought I just said that
we'll never get split up.

- Oh god, you're Stealth is so bad.

- My Stealth is really bad.

- I'll say, for these groups,

we can do group Stealth checks.

So a stealthier person

partnered with a less
stealthy person can cover-

- So Fabian, and do you
have decent Stealth?

- Pretty good, yeah.
- Okay.

- Do you want us and Ragh?

- Yeah, maybe the two of us and Ragh.

- Me and Adaine?
- Yeah.

- Yeah, this is a good split.

- It's honestly perfect.

- I'll break Detect Evil and Good,

and cast Invisibility on Kristen.

- Okay, so Kristen you're
gonna roll with advantage.

Riz, you're rolling Stealth as well.

- Cool, can anyone

throw a Bardic at Kristen before we leave?

- Are my Bardics... my
Bardics aren't cursed anymore.

- No, they're not.
- Is that the case?

- Oh, rad.
- They are not.

- I believe in you.
- Thank you, spring break.

- Spring break, I believe
in you, spring break.

- All right Kristen,
let's go find your room.

Do we do Stealth first, or?

- Let's do Stealth first.
- Okay.

[dice rolling]

- 25, okay.

- 14.

- 25, 14?

The roll we go with in
that group is a 25 Stealth.

Riz, you begin to move through.

This is Riz's f*ck' bread and butter,

but he is a f*ck' shadow on the wall.

So even you, glowing through this place,

it's like weird old
dumbwaiter is opened up.

You guys go and go through
an old part of the thing,

pulling this rope up.

Get to another level, move through.

And even though it's not the
same layout as Mordred Manor,

there's a weird,
intuitive, emotional logic,

and you focus mainly on not being seen.

Now we're gonna roll the group.

It's either Perception or Investigation,

to find the place you are trying to find.

- Okay.
[die rolling]

[die rolling]
[jazz music]

[Emily laughs]

- You also have Medal of Wit if you wanna-
- Bye!

See you tomorrow.
- See you tomorrow.

[all laughing]

- Hey, here we go.

The rooms are flyin' in.

- Here we go, we'll just move this

to the side for this second.

- [Lou] Oh, wow.
- [Zac] It's Tetris.

- Oh, cool.
- Is this the Kristen room?

- This is Kristen's room.
- Mm.

- [Zac] Kristen, your
room is pretty scary.

- [Lou] Lotta places you
could have sex on there.

- Okay, you guys enter-
- Yeah, big stone chair.

- [Brennan] You guys enter. You have this

incredible Stealth check.

I am gonna need one last
Perception from both of you.

You are trying to beat an 18.

[dice rolling]

- f*ck yeah!
- Not me.

- That is a...

- Absolutely hype up.

- Sorry, 26.

- On a 26, you move in and hear.

[rat squeaking]

And watch as a spectral rat

skitters-
- [Adaine] Edgar!

- ...and disappears into the wardrobe

over in that corner of the room.

- I run up to it.

- Cool, you guys get to Kristen's room.

Who's the next group following them out?

- You guys wanna go next?
- Yeah, go ahead.

- Great, Ragh goes out
with Gorgug and Fig.

- Bardic, Bardic.
[guitar twangs]

- Hell, yeah..
- These are good?

These are regular?

- Ragh gets a 23 on his Stealth.

- Hell, yeah!
- Good job.

- f*ck.

[dice rolling]
[tense music]

- Thank god for being invisible.

- An 11.

- 19.

- Oh, that's great.

- So the 19 is the roll

we're gonna go with in the group check.

Now go ahead and give me
Perception, or Investigation.

[die rolling]

- 12.

[die rolling]

- Oh, that's good. 22 Perception.

- Okay. 12, 22. We go with Ragh's 14.

- Does he still have a Bardic?

- He does still have a Bardic.

- Hey, I didn't wink at you for nothin'.

- Let's go. He just needs a two or higher.

Eight.
- [Siobhan] Nice.

- [Zac] Wow.
- [Murph] 22, damn.

- That's great.

- Let's go.

Showing up sort of right behind you guys,

as Edgar vanishes, are
Gorgug, Ragh, and Fig,

who all appear in the space alongside you.

So now we're gonna roll Stealth

for our last group coming outta there

before we roll Perception
and Investigation, as well.

And then we're gonna be
rolling another clock check.

[dice rolling]

- I got an eight, but thankfully,
we take the higher roll.

- I got a 25.

- Nice.
- [Brennan] On Stealth, amazing.

- A 25 on Stealth, yeah.

- Great. You're gonna roll
Perception or Investigation.

You're going to roll with disadvantage.

[dice rolling]

[dice rolling]

- I got an 11.

- I roll with disadvantage
already, but I got a 21.

- Okay.
- Ooh!

[player whistles]

- [Brennan] You both
arrive in Adaine's room.

- [Siobhan] Oh sh*t.

- Is this?
- This is my room.

- [Lou] Can I make a Sleight of Hand check

to lock the door as we walk in?

- [Brennan] Yes, you can.
[die rolling]

- That's gonna be a 21.

Adaine, is this Kristen's room?

- No, this is my room.

- Well then, we should head out.

This is not where we're supposed to be.

[Ally laughs]

- Can I do a Perception check?

- You have been a bad friend
to Riz Gukgak, Adaine.

- No!
[all laughing]

- No!
- What the f*ck?

- A very bad friend.
- Dispel Magic!

- And you will be punished.

- I'm gonna need Siobhan
and Lou to roll Initiative.

- Wait, what?
- Oh my god!

He's possessed, he
failed his check before,

but we didn't know!

- He lied and said he didn't fail it.

- I got a 21.
- [Brennan] 21.

- I got a six.
- Oh my god.

- Baron is first to act.
- [Lou] Great.

I'm going to close.

[all laughing]
- Oh my god!

- And attack you two times.
- Lou!

[Brennan laughs]

- Wait, shouldn't there be

some sort of Aelwyn help in
this room, like from the-

- From the Nemesis Ward?

We'll find out.

- Oh my god.

- Okay.

First attack.
[die rolling]

- Look at how f*ck' happy he is.

- Is a 21.

- He's sick.

He's sick in the head.

- What'd you do to him?

- Does 21 hit?
- 21 hits.

- [Brennan] 21 hits.

- Great. Second attack.

That's only a 20.

- That also hits.
- [Brennan] 20 also hits.

- Of course it hits. We know
Adaine's AC is f*cking 15.

- Even with Shield.
- [Brennan] Even with Shield.

- So there's no point in me-
- f*ck!

- First attack's a trip attack.

- Okay.
- f*ck!

- Jesus Christ.

- If only you had been nice to Riz Gukgak.

- I'm so nice to Riz!

What are you talking about?

- You let his friends
call him The Ball, Adaine.

- He likes that!

[all laughing]

He likes being rad.

- I hope you're also gonna kiss Riz later.

- DC 17 saving throw, Strength.

- Okay, great.
- [Ally] Oh my f*cking god.

- It's okay, Adaine is

f*ck' buff.
- Okay, I make the save.

- Make the save. That's d8 plus d8.

We'll make it a Defensive Flourish,

give myself another d8.
- f*cking Dimension Door outta there.

- And then I'll make
it a third level strike

with Fandrangor.

So this is just the first one.

- Is Fandrangor a magic weapon?

- Yes.
- It is a magic weapon.

Nine, 10, 15, 18, 22,

plus nine,

for 31 points of damage

on the first attack.
- Oh my god.

- Are these spell attacks?

- No, they are not spell,
they're barbarian attacks.

- I'll burn a second third level spell

for the second strike.

- Oh my god!

- So he's burning spell slots,

and I can't use Mage Slayer on him?

- No, you can't.

I mean, if he casts a spell-

- It seems like it's a
magic item that does Smite.

- That seems like spells to me!

- And then we'll do another-

this'll be a second
attempt at the trip attack,

another DC 17.

- If I crit, can I get
some sort of feeling

from the shards that this is happening?

- We are gonna resolve
this first round, and then-

- Resolve Adaine being m*rder*d.

- Three, nine, 12, 16.

- Did the card say to
try to k*ll the person?

[Lou giggles]

- Who knows what the card said?

- 16 plus nine for 25 points of damage.

- All right, how much
damage has Adaine taken?

- 31, plus 25 is 56,

so I have 18 hit points right now.

- Yeesh.
- What the hell?

- [Brennan] Okay. Adaine,
that is going to be your turn.

- Cool!

Very fun.

- Dimension Door back
out into the hallway!

- You see Fabian lunging across,
speaking in Baron's voice.

- [Lou] You will not
hurt Riz Gukgak, Adaine!

- Can I, before I do anything,

have my two smoke mephits that I,

actually, my three smoke mephits,

because I have the one that was with-

- For Fabian, yes.

- Fabian, can I-
- Oh, sorry.

You're gonna need to make
some concentration checks.

What was the damage on that again?

- 31 and 25.
- 31 and 25.

- [Brennan] So it's 15 and 10,
Constitution saving throws.

- No, no.

- [Brennan] But this could
alert your friends to trouble.

- Sure, yeah, that's true.

- Oh, our mephits all the
sudden disappear. - What?

- If Adaine fails the saving throw,

you will almost certainly
know that something

bad has happened.
- Yeah, they're gone.

- They're gone.

All of you get into this room,

and see all the mephits
simultaneously [gasps]

have their torsos split open,

as though by a blade strike, and vanish.

- Okay, Adaine's in trouble.

How do we find her?

- Adaine and Fabian are in trouble.

- Yeah, Adaine, we gotta help.

I bet Fabian went down, heroically.

- He probably saved-

- I bet he said,
"Anything for friendship,"

and he took a blade to the heart.

- I'm gonna cast Dimension Door.

I don't see any other-

- You're going to make an Arcana check.

Now, you're the perfect
kind of wizard to do this.

You're the Elven Oracle.

You hold the Sword of Sight.

So a DC 15 gets you into a random room

other than this one.

- Great.

- A DC 20 gets you into Kristen's room.

[Ally gasps]
Okay?

- Ooh!
- Cool.

- So I get a plus nine.
- 11 or higher.

- To Arcana. So I just need
to get an 11 or higher, okay.

[die rolling]
[tense music]

I got a 13!

- Hey, there we go.

In front of all of you,
a bloody Adaine appears.

- Adaine, where's Fabian?

- Fabian is Baron, Fabian is Baron!

I don't know how.
- Fabian's possessed?

- Yes!

- Adaine, you appear
in Kristen's room, woo.

- Fabian hit me.

- No, Baron got Fabian?

- Fabian is Baron.

- Or did Fabian just do it
out of his own nasty spirit?

- I knew it!

- No.
- He's so nasty!

- Rude, rude.

[all laughing]

- He is a nasty guy,

and I don't know how long
Baron has been Fabian,

and maybe he's been Fabian the whole time,

and he's just been tricking
us for three years,

and that's why we've made
so many bad decisions.

- Poor Fabian. He got taken over?

- Okay, does anyone have a way to remove-

- Remove Curse or something?

- I have Remove Curse.

- We should heal up Adaine, also.

- Also, I needed to get out of there,

'cause he really f*cked me up.

[Siobhan wailing]

- How much health are you missing?

- So much.

- Okay.

- 56.

[die rolling]

- Yes!

[soothing music]

- Thank you.

- I'm gonna Lay on Hands.
- Ooh, ooh that's so nice.

- Adaine, I can't believe

what you've been through, come here.

[gentle guitar music]

- Oh no.
- Oh.

- And I do a slow dance.
- Fig turns into-

- Fig's Baron.

- Fig's Baron.

No, no, no, no, no, no, no!
- I think she might be Baron!

- She's Baron! I'll cut her
legs off. You go for high!

[all laughing]

- Another 15.

I'll just do two.
- I just gave you five.

- Okay, great.

So that's an extra 20.

- Amazing. Once Adaine is healed,

what do you do in this room, this area?

- Okay, I saw a yellow glow in here.

Maybe it has something to
do with that rat you saw,

but I'm also worried about
what other sick stuff

Baron is making Fabian do.

- Yeah, we have to get Fabian back.

Let's real quick, in case the rat was-

- Edgar.

- Edgar.
- [Siobhan] You saw Edgar?

- Maybe Edgar was trying
to tell us something.

- Edgar, yeah, can we-
- Edgar!

- [Ally] ...go up and talk to him?

- Great, are people just
gonna generally fan out,

and investigate the room?

- I'm gonna watch the door.

- Yeah, I'm on security.

- Can we find that golden glow?

- So Fig and Gorgug stay at the door.

Ragh is gonna come in.

I'm also gonna need Emily,
Zac, Ally, Murph to roll d8s.

[dice rolling]

- [Murph] Four.
- Three!

- Two.
- Three!

- Four.

- Okay, copy that.

Cool, you all roll that,

and Zac keeps looking at me.

- Copy that?
- Copy that.

So what, if anything else,
do you all do in this room?

You go to investigate.

- I wanna talk to Edgar.

- Check the wardrobe to
see what's up with Edgar.

- [Brennan] Cool.

- And we're looking for
the golden glow in here.

- Oh, Edgar's an animal, right?

- [Brennan] Yeah.

- I put on my mask.
- You put on your mask.

- Oh, that's such a good gift.

- [Brennan] And you're gonna
cast Animal Friendship?

- Yeah.
- Okay.

Go ahead and give me Persuasion.

[people laughing]

- Okay.
- Give me Persuasion.

[plucky music]

- Okay, that becomes a...

Dirty 20.
- Ooh!

- Nice.

- So, guarding the door, you
put on an orangutan mask,

and a little spectral rat.

[Brennan squeaking]
[rat squeaking]

Floats over to you, a
little flying ghost rat

who comes over to your
hand, looking for a snack.

The rest of you go to look
for that source of light.

As you go looking for the
source of light, you see

in between Kristen's
bed and clothing rack,

on the ground

is a slightly dim, yellow, glowing lanyard

with a company card for a rideshare app.

And you see it is glowing with
a lemony yogurt cream energy.

- Can I do a Religion check, or Arcana,

what I need to be able to
understand how to handle this?

- I'll do an Arcana if you do a Religion.

- [Brennan] Do Arcana
and do Religion, yeah.

- Did Gilear drive for a rideshare thing?

- He did.
- Yeah, yeah.

- [Brennan] The rideshare
app repossessed his car,

'cause he made so little money.

- 26.

- You see a powerful
fragment of a broken curse.

What you see is this is
infernal, hellish energy

that is no longer bound to
any specific infernal force.

Adaine, this is spell component material.

I mean, this is literally
raw mana for infernal magic.

- You should give this to Fig.

She can do stuff with this, probably.

- Yes.

- Come here, Eddy, come here, Edgar.

[Emily laughs]

- With this crazy mask on.

- Can I look in my textbooks
about these curses?

- [Brennan] Yeah.

- If we can use the power of this,

plus if we can get a certain
number of the other components

to get us out of wherever the f*ck we are?

- If you were back in Spyre,

you'd have to do a bunch of work,

and draw a bunch of diagrams,
and yada, yada, yada.

This space is so ephemeral to begin with

that if you got all six
pieces of this curse,

you would be able to funnel this energy

to kind of any infernal force.

On a 24, you could send it
to an ally in the Nine Hells.

You could pass it to Fig.

You could potentially use this to address

whatever's going on with
Lydia, outside of the briefcase

with Bakur and the devil-

- Oh okay, so this is not just,

we can get out of here if
we get all six of these?

If we get all six of these,
we can do some major sh*t.

- You can do some major sh*t.

If you get all six of these,
you can do some major sh*t.

It's sort of like a rocket
where it's like yeah,

it leaves Earth's orbit,

and then it also lands on
the moon for the first time.

- Right, okay.

- This is a lot of energy.
- This is a lot of power.

- [Brennan] Yeah.

- I have one more question for you.

- Yes.

- Can we touch this, or
is this a tongs situation?

- On a 26, you have a certainty
that it is going to be safer

to handle this not with bare skin.

- Great. I grab a clothes
hanger out of Kristen's closet.

All of Kristen's clothes are
on the floor of the wardrobe.

- How dare you?

- Tell me I'm wrong. Tell me I'm wrong.

- They're definitely there.

- You want me to use my
tinkerer's tools on that?

- Yeah. Basically, it's really
a bad idea if we touch this,

so if we can pick this up
some way that's non-magical.

I guess I could Mage Hand it.

- I have a forge, and I'm
just hitting a wire hanger.

[Siobhan laughs]

- Can I give Gorgug the
help action with Mage Hand?

- Yes, give Gorgug the help
action, yeah, with Mage Hand.

[dice rolling]

- That's a 18.

- Oh yeah, you can tongs
it very, very easily.

So you successfully get this.

One of the six incredibly
powerful remnants

of Fig's broken curse.

Honestly, of Gilear's broken curse,

comes back to you,

and Edgar is sort of ghostily hanging out

in a pocket of Fig's.

See, it looks like Edgar has a hard time,

'cause he likes to nestle in pockets,

but he's incorporeal,
so pockets don't expand

when he goes into them.

- I Minor Illusion an ethereal pocket

for him to nestle in.

- You guys can see a sort of
vaguely translucent pocket,

and a little snoozing rat ghost.

- Can we ask him anything?

Are you able to communicate with him?

- I think that he's just my friend.

I read through it.

I don't think I can actually speak to him.

- I'm gonna need Zac,
Siobhan, Ally, and Murph

to all pick a card.

[tense music]

- [Siobhan] What the f*ck?

- Let me get that one.
- Okay.

- [Brennan] Read your
card, make your roll.

[Siobhan groans]

- Circle of Power's up.

[tense music continues]

- You m*therf*cker.

- I passed.

- I passed.
- I passed, as well.

- I also passed.

- Ragh looks unaffected, as well.

- We should go get Fabian.

Does anyone have-

- Kristen f*cking failed it and lied.

[all laughing]

- Oh Lord.

- Everyone, go ahead and
give me your card back.

- No, I'm kidding, I'm kidding, I didn't.

But that would be very funny.

I just attack Adaine, after hearing you.

- g*dd*mn it!

- It's always Adaine.
- What the f*ck?

- I go low, you go high.

- Yeah, we both got the same one.

- All right, should we-

we should try to get Fabian back.

- Yeah.
- Yeah.

- We got our thing from this room.

- Let's move.

- [Emily] And there's five more of these.

- Kristen and I will go
towards Adaine's room.

- I go with you guys, 'cause
these guys have three.

I don't wanna go on my own.

- No, I can go with you.
- You got it.

- No, Adaine's got it.

Let Adaine go alone.

- No, we have Ragh.

We have two sets of two between you four.

- Oh, so I should go with Ragh?

- Do we wanna do a two and a
three, or a three and a three?

- We could just do a three and a three.

- Yeah, right?
- Okay.

- Oh, of course.

- [Siobhan] Yeah, that's
what I was saying.

- So maybe Ragh comes with us,

and Ragh can try to grapple Fabian.

- That's a pretty strong trio.

- Yeah, yeah, you three,
and then us three.

- All right.
- Okay, great.

- [Murph] Ready to go?

- Everyone's still Blessed.

- And I still have Invisibility up on you.

- Right.
- Okay.

Let's go ahead and give the Stealth.

Ragh got a 17.

- Can you track him?
- 26.

- Wait, Ragh's going-
- Nat 20, thank god.

- Here we go, what's that?

- Ragh's with them, I'm with these guys?

- Yeah, you're with us.
- Okay, great.

- So Ragh goes with you two,

and we're gonna roll.

It's 11:49.

[clock chimes]

That's another four.

It is 11:53.

Now we're gonna roll,

it's either Perception or Investigation

to find Adaine's room.

- With that nat 20, can I have advantage?

- 29.

- You can get advantage on
your Perception, for sure.

- Okay.
[Emily laughs]

[people laughing]

- That's good.
- This is great.

No, that's really great, 24.

- [Brennan] Hell, yes.

- And since I got a 24,

could I have advantage next time I roll?

[people laughing]

- And where are you all headed off to?

Are you following in a
second wave after them?

- Can I maybe say to-

we probably wanna try

and go after one of these shards.

- We might not have enough time to do it.

- So we'll go get Fabian,

you guys just try to find
another room with the gold thing.

- I know that I can't communicate,

but can I kind of gesture
to the glowing thing,

to Edgar, and be like, we're
looking for more of this?

[Brennan squeaking]

- You can take us there?

[Brennan squeaking]
Good boy, Edgar.

- Hell, yeah. Edgar's
gonna take you to a room.

- I'm wearing an orangutan mask.

- [Brennan] Wearing an orangutan mask.

- I don't quite get it.

- [Brennan] Go ahead and give me-

- She's the scariest thing here.

- Go ahead and give me your Stealth check,

if you'd be so kind.

- Okay.

[dice rolling]

- Would you say that Greater Invisibility

is still up, or has it gone away?

- It's only a minute.
- Up to you.

If you wouldn't have lost
concentration, you can keep it.

- I didn't lose concentration.

- 15.

- [Brennan] 15.
- Oh my god!

I rolled two twos.

- I got a seven.

- I got a five.

- Okay, so, here's what happens now.

I am going to need-

- You guys are all Blessed?

- Gorgug, Fig, and Adaine
to roll Initiative.

- Are we Blessed?

- [Ally] Everyone's Blessed.

- [Brennan] Doesn't add to skill checks.

- Oh f*ck, okay.
- Oh yeah.

- We all roll Initiative?

- Well I, oh, I also
roll with disadvantage.

- I roll with disadvantage,

but I have advantage, so it cancels out.

- I got a six.
- I got a 14.

- 18.
[tense music]

- Zac, go ahead and roll a d4 for me.

- Absolutely.

- I just remembered we've
been rolling all those d8s.

I wonder what they mean.

- Four.

- Go ahead and roll it again for me?

- Stop.
[Siobhan groans]

One?

- Okay, great.

You are both going up the stairs.

As you are traveling up the stairs,

one of the steps [screeches]
loudly creaks behind you,

and you hear the rattling of chains.

Leaping from the rafters,
directly in front of you,

you see Zara Sool,

Fig's warlock teacher.

- [Emily] What?

- Leaps in front of you [hisses]
and flying from behind you,

none other than Zayn Darkshadow.

- [Siobhan] What the f*ck?
[Brennan's ghostly breathing]

- Okay, he's rad.
- He comes,

[Brennan gasping screams]

Screaming, and he is first in Initiative.

He is going to cast a spell.

- Okay, I'm lookin' at it.

- I'm going to need all three of you

to make Constitution saving throws.

- You're not gonna say what the spell is?

- You can make an Arcana check

to see what it is before it gets cast.

DC is 16.
- I didn't get it.

- Okay.
- 13.

- Con save?

- Counterspell.

- Yeah.
- 25.

- I think I gotta try to Counterspell,

because I don't have saves.

- Okay, go ahead and give
me a Counterspell here.

- Okay, the Counterspell
would only be a 13,

so it's not gonna get it.

- Okay, what were our Constitution saves?

- 18.
- 25.

- Okay, each of you takes 39 halved

to 19 points of necrotic
damage as Zayn screams

as this ghostly energy
rockets out through the space.

Gorgug, that is going to be your turn.

- [Emily] So what happens
with Warding Bond?

- You have resistance to all damage.

- Ooh!

- But I take half of what you take.

- Okay.

- [Brennan] So that means you only take-

- I took half, and then that gets halved.

- Yes, in other words,

you're gonna take nine points of damage.

You're going to take 19 plus nine,

which is 28 points of damage.

Gorgug, that's gonna be your turn.

- Zayn, buddy, I'm sorry, bud.

I'm gonna attack him.

- Why do you attack your
friend, Gorgug Thistlespring?

- Oh my god.

- No, no!
[Brennan laughing]

- Wait, really?
- Really?

- Yeah.
- Is this real?

- Fabian, you come to in Adaine's room.

- No way!
- No!

- You got advantage on that save!

It still failed?

[Brennan laughs]

- Fabian, you come to as

Riz, Ragh, and Kristen all pour in.

- [Murph] Ragh, tackle him!

- Sleight of Hand to lock the door.

- Ragh says, "I f*cking love you!"

And smashes you into the ground.

- [Lou] What the f*ck, dude?

- [Brennan] I don't wanna
see you like this, dude!

[Ally grunting]
[Lou yelping]

[all laughing]

Go ahead and give me
oppose Athletics, Fabian.

- Okay.

[dice rolling]

- Ragh fails to lock you up.
- Great.

- But you are all in this space together.

- Baron, get out of there!

- Hey, f*ck you!

What do you mean, get outta there, Baron?

- You just attacked Adaine.

You brutally hurt her.
- No, I f*cking didn't.

- She was bloody.

- Shut the f*ck up!
- How did you get in here?

- Where the f*ck, where are we?

- The last thing you remember

is looking in the mirror in Fig's room.

- Got it.

- I'll use the Gregorian
Necktie Detect Evil.

- You do not detect any evil on him,

but you do see, radiating from the floor,

a powerful, evil energy.

- Okay, something is
going on downstairs now?

[footsteps thudding]
[Brennan roaring]

- Boom!
[wood clattering]

Bursting through the trap door,
in the center of all of you,

you see Mordred Manor's realtor, Gulsom.

I'm gonna need all of
you to roll Initiative.

- Nat 20.

- Becomes a 17.

- 13.
- I don't want that.

Not now.

Not now that you're the bad.

- Becomes a 17, Kristen.

Why do you attempt to
fly with just a ribbon?

[Ally laughs]

Do you not think that your friends

would take you more seriously, Kristen?
- There's no way

you saw that, Baron.
- [Siobhan] If you did not make

such bad ideas?

- [Brennan] That's gonna be a 13 for Riz.

Kristen, what'd you get?
- Nat 20.

- [Siobhan] Becomes a 17.
- [Brennan] Becomes a 17.

- I don't know if that rule
applies when you hit a nat 20.

- 11 for Fabian.

- [Ally] You get advantage
on your next roll, and...

- [Brennan] Amazing!

We're gonna continue right
along in the Initiative order.

Gorgug, we're gonna come back

to you at an 18.

- Okay.

I was maybe gonna attack Zayn,

but now I'm looking at Adaine.

[all laughing]

Fig, is it f*cked up to hit Adaine?

I shouldn't do that, right?

- I mean, we kinda have to
take out all these people?

But I mean like, yeah, go after Adaine.

- [Ally] Oh my god.
- We know she's weak.

We know she's weakened from Fabian.

[all laughing]

- Everyone talks so much sh*t about me.

- Can I make an Insight check on Adaine?

- Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

- It's with disadvantage.

- Adaine's head is revolving.

- Yeah, nat one.

- Hate to bring it back here, but you-

[Siobhan laughs]

For a brief moment, you look
at Adaine, possessed, and go,

"Dad, no, not dad, not your dad."

- Father.

- Father?

- I feel like you might have
a better handle on Adaine

than me, and it feels
really mean, as well.

So, I'm gonna go after Zara.

- Let's both just let Adaine attack us,

and attack the other people.

- I'm gonna go for Zara.

I'mma take two Reckless Attacks on Zara.

- Hell, yeah. Go for it.

- Zara, is this really you doing this?

- Nat 20.
- Yes!

- Oh my god!

- [Ally] Crit on Zara!
- Go!

- [Lou] Could've been a crit on Adaine.
- And the second one

is a 19, which is also a crit.

- Oh my f*cking god!

- Wow, double crit on the lady.

- Crit on my hot teacher.

- So I have Savage Critical,

which means I roll 3d12 per axe hit?

- 3d12 per axe hit.
- Yeah!

- [Brennan] And it does some
other stuff on a crit, too.

No, maybe not, yeah.

- I might knock her prone.

- Okay.
- Yeah!

- 34 plus six, so 40 damage.
- [Brennan] 40 damage.

- And because this is the
mixtape my ex-girlfriend...

[all laughing]

- Oh you still carry that, dude?

- I just haven't found
another mixtape store.

- Why do you still play

the same music from your heartbreak,

Gorgug Thistlespring?
- We don't do that here.

We don't do that here, Adaine.

[all laughing]

On a nat 20, is
automatically knocked prone.

- Hell, yes. Bam!

Zara is slammed, as the wood craters

up here on the balcony. [Brennan hisses]

Any bonus actions from Gorgug?

- I will cast Branding Smite now.

- Okay, you know what?

I will let you throw that on.

- [Emily] Especially with a crit?
- Yeah, with a crit.

I'll let you throw that on.
- Thank you.

All right, so that would be-
- [Lou] Gorgug with the crit.

- With the crit?
- [Lou] With the crit!

- That would be-
- With a crit?

- With a crit?
- With a crit?

- It becomes 4d6.

- Woo!

- Okay, so that's
another six, seven, eight

nine damage.

- Hell, yeah.
- Of radiant.

- Nice.
- Ooh!

You cancel Zara's vampiric Regeneration.

- [Murph] Mm, nice.
- Ooh.

- [Brennan] With that radiant damage.

- Her weakness is a big axe.

- Bam!

Turns out, that's a lot
of things' weakness.

An enormous magical axe really f*ck up

a lot of stuff.
- I honestly relate to that.

- Yeah.
- [Brennan] Incredible. Zara, bah!

Hits the deck.

On those double crits, Gorgug,

give me a Perception with advantage.

- Wow.
- [Lou] ♪ Perception with a-♪

- Whoa, that's a crit!
[tone chimes]

- Gorgug.

- Can he have another
attack with that crit?

- I can't stop critting!

[Brennan gasps angrily]

Your heart rate picks up, and as it does,

There's an asymptote.

It picks up in speed.

There is a mathematics to your rage.

Your drummer sensibilities

As you keep to the beat,

become available to you.

You feel that you have
this Branding Smite,

and suddenly feel like you could

hold Concentration on it while raging.

The entire world of Aguefort has told you

that it doesn't make sense

- I'm a f*ck' pioneer!

And on that nat 20 Perception,

you notice a spilled tub of cottage cheese

at the bottom of the staircase.

- Fig, the cheese!
- The cheese!

- Edgar wakes up in your little
spectral pocket and goes,

[Brennan squeaking]

At the sound of cheese.

- Go get that and bring it to me.

- Incredible.

We're gonna cut to Adaine's room.

Kristen Applebees, the trap
door explodes as Gulsom,

this flesh golem, surges into the room.

- f*ck, we should probably get outta here?

I don't think we can fight this.

I cast Hold Person on the golem.

- You cast Hold Person, use your action,

and Gulsom goes [roars]
and the bolts in his neck

crackle with electricity.

He resists it. He is immune
to the Paralyzed condition.

- Fair.

[Brennan roars]

- Any bonus actions from Kristen?

- Can I run towards the door?

- Yeah, you can run to
that door, absolutely.

You run to the door, open it,

and see a kind of hallway out there.

of opportunity on you

as you leave his threatened area.

He swings wildly, and misses.

[Brennan grunts]

That is going to be, Baron.

- I'd like to cast

True Strike as a bonus action,

and then I will cast

Steel Wind Strike on my best friends.

- Ooh, Jesus. Okay.

- And so, this is just a
regular attack, though.

And that is a 25 to hit.

My sneak attack is 6d6 now?

- Yeah, I think so.

- You calculate your damage.

Fabian, you're up.

you find a bean-covered
green button up shirt.

- [Zac] A bean-covered?

- [Brennan] Just soaked in beans.

- I put on some gloves and pick it up,

put it in my pack.

- As you do so, you hear-

[Brennan snarls]

[Brennan howls]

Go ahead and give me that Stealth check.

- Wolfsbane.
- You got it, you got it, you got it.

- Should have taken the wolfsbane.

[dice rolling]

- Would we have heard that, as well?

- [Brennan] You all
hear a howl throughout.

Leaping through the door is Jawbone.

That is going to be Fabian.

- I'm gonna run, and stab the woman

that Gorgug just stabbed.

- [Brennan] Let's go.

[die rolling]

- 21 to hit.
- 21 hits.

- Okay, I got one more superiority die.

- Is Fabian still a turncoat, or?

- No.

- I was never a turncoat, all right?

- No, you were a big time turncoat.

- Stop calling me a turncoat, all right?

You know that word's triggering for me.

[Ally laughs]

- Can you Minor Illusion,
Ecaf calling him a turncoat?

- Don't you f*ck' dare.

- It would probably be
the best use of my turn.

[people laughing]

- I will make it a trip attack,

DC 17 Strength saving throw.

- I cast Minor Illusion
and I go back to sleep.

- [Brennan] She makes the save.
- Great.

That is gonna be 12 plus nine

equals 21.

Second attack,

[die rolling]

that's gonna be a 29 to hit.

- Zara looking f*cked up.

- I'll burn a first level spell slot.

How do we feel about 16 points of damage?

- Hey.
- Hell, yes.

Bam, Zara is looking messed up.

- Action surge, we'll take two more.

- Woo!

- That's right.

- How we feel about a 15?

- Not great.

- How do we feel about,

even worse?

[people laughing]

- Action surge [grunting]
she sees the pattern,

and starts to dodge it.

- Yes, well there's a rhythm
to these sorts of things.

- Oh, you have to stop dancing.

You're so predictable now.

- I can't, I'm the
world's greatest dancer.

- That's true.

- So, Riz.

Jawbone bursts through the door.

I assume you're hiding behind
the wardrobe, in the shadows?

Jawbone has Keen Hearing and Smell,

which means that he rolls
Perception checks with advantage.

This is gonna be Box of Doom.

You have a 23.

He's got a plus six to Perception.

- Okay.

- So a 17 or higher on
either of these rolls

means you are alone in
a room with a werewolf

who knows exactly where you are.

- Don't like it.
- Oh brother.

[die rolling]

- That's a seven.
- Okay.

- Okay.
- That's good.

[die rolling]

- Double sevens.

- Yay!
- Okay!

- Imagine if the second one's a nat 20.

- I know, I would've fought.

I would've fought.

- Riz, you are flush against the wall

and you hear,

[snarling] "Anybody in here?

Who needs to talk.

I just wanna talk."

[Brennan snarling]

We will come back to
your turn in a moment.

Figueroth Faeth, it is you.

- Do I have to take a turn?

- Yes, I'm afraid so.

[Ally laughs]

- Wherever Fig is, I know
she's filled with confidence.

[Emily laughs]

- And then I whisper to Gorgug,

"She came back, you can see her.

She's down there."

- Oh, wow.

[all laughing]

- Fig, the curse is gone.

What are you doing?

- She's kinda doing that
weird air humping crybaby-

- Honestly, this just
confirms my suspicion

that the curse was me all along.

How many of these do we have?

We only have four?

- You have four of six
clues that you need.

It is four minutes to midnight.

Zayn is uninjured, Adaine
has been dispelled,

Zara is looking extremely hurt.

- We've been in all the rooms, though.

- Is there a door to a different room?

- There are several other-

I believe you've seen all the rooms

that have mirrors in them,

but there are other
rooms in Mordred Manor.

- [Siobhan] Like the kitchen?
- Kitchen.

- Lydia Barkrock's room.

- One of the rooms you saw was the foyer,

which was a mirror room that
you haven't been to yet.

- I'm just gonna bonus
action Dash to another room.

- [Brennan] Okay, awesome.

- To try and find one of these things.

- Are you going to attempt
to be stealthy in doing so,

or are you going to-

- Oh right, 'cause Kalina could be around.

Yeah, I'll attempt to be stealthy.

- Okay, go ahead and
give me a Stealth check.

[die rolling]

- Okay, 17.

- 17, awesome.

Now go ahead and give me
Perception or Investigation.

[die rolling]

- 17.

- Hell, yes.

What room are you going to?

- I'll go to another
room with a mirror in it.

I know that it's a danger,

but it feels like they might've all

gotten scattered to the mirror rooms.

- Okay, so you're gonna go to the foyer.

- Yeah.

- Go ahead and choose left or right.

- Left.

- You emerge from the door on the left,

which means you are not
in sight of the mirror

as you enter the room.

Good choice.

However, you do know that
venturing into the room further,

there is a danger of getting
in sight of the mirror.

- Okay, can I try to see if
there's a glowing thing in here?

- Yeah, go ahead and give me
Investigation or Perception.

[die rolling]

- That's a nat one.

- Luck point?
- Luck point, Luck point?

- Do I have one, okay.

- [Brennan] You have one Luck point left.

[tense music]

- 15.

- 15.

Up ahead by the door,

you see an extremely moist

set of sandals.

[players groan]

If you wanna use an action

to try to get those sandals, you can.

You do see that mirror. You
can't see the glass in it,

but it is kind of hauntingly in the room,

and you're aware of how dangerous it is.

- Don't touch the sandals.

- It would take an action
to try to grab them, though?

I'm just wondering if I can
cast Greater Invisibility

on myself again to then grab them.

- Oh, getting them is just
an object interaction.

- Yeah.

- So you cast Greater
Invisibility on yourself,

move into the room,
and with no reflection,

no one can look through
the mirror to see you.

You walk into the room,

grab these extremely moist, damp sandals.

- And then I moonwalk out.

- And then you moonwalk out.

We go back to Ragh Barkrock.
- In the sandals?

- Ragh Barkrock's gonna take
some swings on Zara Sool.

He hits once.

- Great minds.
[both chuckling]

- Deal some damage to her.

Zara is going to look at
Gorgug very, very angry,

and is going to first make
a grapple attempt with you.

That is a 23 on her Athletics.

[dice rolling]

- I got a 15 plus eight.

- [Ally] 23.
- [Siobhan] 23.

- Oh, okay!

- You kiss.

- You kiss.
- Wow.

- Don't tell Fig, she'll be so jealous.

- She's not in here.

- You resist the grapple,
so she cannot bite you.

And instead, she is going to

make a strike with her blade,

and she's going to deal 17
points of slashing damage

halved to eight points of
slashing damage to Gorgug.

Gorgug's looking pretty good, right?

- Great.
- Great.

- Awesome.

- Gorgug's looking freaking awesome.

- It's kind of hot, actually.

- Kind of hot, actually,
if you think about it.

Zayn is going to cast

Cloudkill.

- Lame.

- He is going to cast Cloudkill

right over this squad of three,

so Kristen, Ragh, and Fabian.

Everyone give me a
Constitution saving throw.

[dice rolling]

- Do you still have Circle of Power?

- Yeah!
- Oh, you do!

- Do it with advantage.
- [Brennan] That's true.

- Do it with advantage.

- [Zac] Nice.

- Do it with advantage.

- Do it with advantage.

- Do it with advantage.

- Do it with advantage.

- Do it with advantage.

- Do it with advantage. 20.

- 10.

- 26 poison damage to Kristen.

Ragh is gonna make his.

Ragh is only gonna take 13
points of that damage, as well.

I'm gonna need a DC 13
concentration saving throw,

twice for each effect.

- What are the two effects?

- Circle of Power, and then did you have-

- Banishment?
- Oh, Banishment is done.

Oh yeah, just the one.

- Okay, Circle of Power, nat one.

I'm gonna use a Luck point.

- You can use a Luck
point, yeah, go for it.

- I feel like this will help us.

That's another nat one.

- Oh my god.
- [Brennan] Zurp!

Circle of Power is gone.

Zayn [snarls] sends poisonous energy

rocketing over to your
side of the b*ttlefield.

- That is buck wild.

[people laughing]

- Kristen, stop dancing.

- Just in poisonous gas.

- [Siobhan] Just waft it.

- I kinda like the way it smells.

- [Siobhan] Smells like skunk.

- And then, Zayn is going to incorporeally

fly through one of the walls.

Gorgug, that's gonna be you.

- Look, lady.

[people laughing]

I'm sorry, but I mean, I know that...

Look, I'm flattered.

[all laughing]

I'm gonna attack.

- Here we go.
- She's really attractive.

- Does a 16 hit?

- 16 hits.

- Okay, and then my second attack.

A 24.

- Hell, yeah..

- 26.

- You do 26 points of damage to Zara?

Describe how Gorgug finishes it.

- We gotta get going.

[people laughing]
- Bam!

She turns into mist,

begins to travel back through the house

towards wherever her resting place is.

Zara is no more.

You all come out of that combat.

Riz, you are next to act.

What are you going to do?

- Cool. Well, I'm in
the room with Jawbone,

I'm going to use the Sword
of Shadows to Misty Step out.

- You cast the spell.

As you do, there's that moment

where the spell energy
crackles and Jawbone [snarls]

turns and sees you for a
second, and you are gone.

That's a bonus action.

What's the rest of your turn?

- We know that there's potentially
one of the cursed items

is in a non-mirror room?

- [Brennan] Yes, potentially.

- I'm gonna go for that one.

- Hell, yeah.

You can't roll under the rolls you need

as a high level rogue,

so you just straight up

appear in the kitchen.

- [Ally] I was gonna guess that.

- You appear in the kitchen.

Immediately clock your trash bag lunches,

and you clock in this room

that there is a sort of
dimly yellow glowing spoon

that sort of has a yogurty crust on it.

You also see that there is
some garlic on the table.

- [Emily] Ooh.

- Ah, I have no context for this,

but I should grab some garlic, maybe.

Cool. I'll run over and grab
the spoon, and grab the garlic.

- All good.

I think everyone here, for the most part,

is outside of combat right now.

No one has a direct sort of opponent.

- Can I see where Zayn went?
'Cause I have Ethereal Sight.

- And you didn't change out of it.

- I can't change out of it.

- So actually, Zayn
thinks he's being slick

and is getting ready to
pop out again on his turn,

and f*ck' k*ll everyone with a big AoE.

You can see him perfectly
with your Ethereal Sight.

- Great, Zayn's right there.

- Incredible, and actually,

it's Kristen and Adaine back to back.

You guys are basically sharing a turn.
- Go for it.

- Do I wanna use my last

fifth-level spell on him?

- I think he's the only
enemy combatant left.

- Right, I think-

- We could wait for Fig
to get back with Edgar.

- You know what, actually,

I will use Steel Wind Strike against him.

- Hell, yes. Go ahead and roll.

- He's used his reaction.

I will bonus action
True Strike against him,

so I roll with advantage.

- Ooh!
- Nice.

- Chomp chomp.
- Crit on your friend.

- [Ally] ♪ Crit on your friend ♪

- I'm sure I hit him, because
that's a 18 plus nine.

- That is a definite hit.

Go ahead and roll damage.

- So that's a 20...

[Ally gasps]
Oh my god, 40.

- [Ally] 46.
- 46 damage.

- Jesus Christ!
- Hey, Adaine.

Describe as you one-shot

the totally undamaged Zayn Darkshadow.

- The Sword of Sight glows in my hand,

and my eyes begin to glow the same color

as I blink out of existence,

and then blink back into existence

with the sword in his heart.

- You appear in the world
of wraiths for a moment,

and back in the material world,

and all of you hear
[gasping] as Zayn vanishes.

- [Emily] Whee!

- And is no more.
- Sorry, Zayn.

I know it wasn't the real you.

Or at least, I hope it wasn't, ay-yay-yay.

- Ay-yay-yay.

- This is canon.

- This is canon! Incredible!

You have eyes on all six objects.

Fig, you grab the sandals.

Riz, you grab this.

In this kitchen, as you grab that,

you look behind the house.

You grab the spoon,

and see out in the
graveyard of Cravencroft,

a sudden glowing light, boom,

almost like a portal out of here,

as you grab the final items,
appears out in the graveyard.

We are going to first roll a time check.

That's gonna be in the Box of Doom.

Someone wanna roll a
d4 in the Box of Doom?

It is 11:56.
- I got it.

- Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- Murph's got it.

- Low, low, just classic low Murph roll.

It's gonna be classic and low!
- No, stop saying it! Come on!

- Two!

- Yes, yes, yes!

- It is 11:58.
[Siobhan groans]

- Cassandra sent this to us, right?

This is a gift from her?
- Yes.

- Can I touch the banister in

and that I'm just sending
her thoughts and prayers.

- You see flashes and images.

You see one of your brother, Bucky.

You see one of Aguefort.

You see that Sandra
Lynn is tending to Lydia

You see Aelwyn is trying to
cast spells into the briefcase

to open it, or help you guys in some way.

And you hear a voice say,
"While you remember me,

some version of me, as I wished to be,

lives, still, in your heart.

If you remember me, I
cannot be fully gone."

And you just feel cool,
incredible light and power,

and she tries to give one last thing

in response to that reaching out,

which is, "Someone has made promises

to bring back that which left."

And you suddenly hear fire, and screaming.

You see a beautiful marriage in a woods,

but you cannot see the hands
that Cassandra is holding.

At the wedding, you see a
little tiny black kitten

that's sort of bouncing along,

and looking very cute and little,

and you suddenly see
Kalina [gasps] in shadows,

looks at you,

and in this cool light reflecting
from the twilight shards,

Cassandra, you can hear her voice

as you're reaching out
in this moment goes,

"No, Kalina, no."

And you see Kalina

has a moment of clarity, looks at you,

reaches up to break her own neck

so that she cannot attack you and says,

"It's the only name I can say."

[bones cracking]

And hits the ground.

Because of your vision of
Cassandra as she wishes to be,

she gave Kalina a moment
of clarity and peace,

and Kalina chose to
effectively remove herself

as a combatant 'cause she's a familiar

and can come back over,
and over, and over again.

- Okay, cool.

- And said, "It's the
only name I can say."
