versus the feisty dancer

During the blind auditions, we met Domo.

Domo: I've been dancing
for about seven years.

What kind of dancing do you do?

Hip-hop, the cool kind.

I walk into the room, and Cee Lo's there

So I was like, "oh, my God!"

I've been feeling really excited
and encouraged.

It's like I've been
rediscovering everyone.

This song is gonna give you
another opportunity

to sing and do choreography
at the same time.

Cody: Sometimes,
I think when I'm performing

that I'm that type of person
who is a seasoned dancer.

I think putting us together made sense.

It's gonna be a good show.

Cee Lo: I paired Cody and Domo

because it's a battle
between a singer that can dance

and a dancer that can sing.

The challenge is if either one of them

will step up to the plate
and be the total package.

No matter how well
the stage or the choreography

or how tight it is or nothing,

She has everything she needs

where it's like...

I'm hoping for Domo to deliver
a strong vocal performance.

Of course, she really wants

I mean, her conversation
was more about the choreography.

My problem is that
I look like a rock pop star,

but I can sing like Mariah Carey,

Aretha Franklin.

They're like, "uh,
you need to dumb one down,"

'cause it's just... You need to relax."

Domo can dance, but I want
to see what else she's got.

Cody definitely does his thing vocally,

but I want to see Cody move, you know?

The catch is, they have to work as a team

while they're competing with each other.

to discuss his concerns
about the upcoming battle.

What are you the most nervous about?

Cody: It's not necessarily my genre,

and I also know that I'm at a disadvantage

because she is female with curves for days

and she wears barely anything.

And those are all things

that you go to sleep at night
thinking about.

How do I get your attention?

I want to see you go out, you know,

from beginning to end
with that kind of confidence.

So, I've yet to see that complete thought,

- in terms of Cody's.

that makes you feel like that.

She almost will have to work even harder,

because she's fitting into a pair of shoes

that people have seen worn before.

I remember in the blinds,

you had a great voice,

but then, when it came to, like,
speaking and whatnot,

I felt an overabundance of confidence

kind of coming from you.

And I thought you were

gonna just overdo it onstage,
and you didn't.

'cause you came out here and kind of, like,

freaked us out a little bit,
'cause you were rapping,

and it was kind of, like, a lot.

And you totally wrangled all that in,

and very, very big points for that.
