My senior year of college
I decided to join a band.

My whole life,
I've loved to do artwork.
I went to school at
Carnegie mellon to pursue arts. wow.
Carnegie mellon
Is a fantastic school.
It's a very
Interdisciplinary college.
I love illustration and working
With computers, especially,
Which is a huge part
Of art these days.
I think getting a degree
Is wildly important.
However, i kind of fell in love
With the idea of singing.
Singing is exhilarating.
It's transcendent,
And that's ultimately what
I wanted to do with my life
'cause i couldn't really picture
Doing anything else with it.
What happened
With college?
College had to be put on hold
For a while. oh!
That's always
A fun phone call to mom.
We were disappointed, but i knew
The music was his passion.
Dropping out of carnegie mellon
Was a huge decision.
It was really painful
For everyone.
I had a bag of clothes,
And i had
A couple hundred bucks.
I busked on the side
Of the street for tips
And got a job
At the apple store.
I had a really great time
Working there.
I love tinkering with stuff,
So it's really fun
To be doing that every day.
But i didn't have
A lot of time for music,
So "the voice" has given me
A great opportunity
To make this my full-time job.
I chose "the voice"
Because one-on-one time
With any of these coaches
Would be absolutely an honor.
If a chair does turn,
It makes all the pain that i've
Put myself and others through
