so I'll be the postman then the players

and the postman go to opposite sides of

the room all right when I say the words

for then I'd say one of the players

letter out of the mailbag so this one is

hi and welcome to Cafe zoom it's time to

zoom into bloom that's what my little

sister Kyra called this cake and she's

the one that sent it to zoom pretty cool

huh

here's what you need to make your cake a

pound cake slice it with about one and a

half cups of chocolate frosting you can

make them from scratch or you

store-bought I have a package of

chocolate wafer cookies for the soil a

package of lady finger cookies for the

fence some gumdrops and toothpicks for

the flowers and some shredded coconut

color with green food coloring for the

grass first take the ladyfingers and put

them around your cake so I'm just going

to press it onto the side like this I

think we can use to warm it so flip it

around and do three over here see what

kind of looks like a fence around the

cake now use this bowl and place it on

here filled up okay and look like and

shake keep stirring just monitor perfect

now take your chocolate with the cookies

and some of them up so you can sprinkle

them on top of your cake to look like

soil one parent I make the cake at home

we usually put the chocolate wafer

cookies in a baggie and smush them

against the table it's really fun ready

this is my favorite part about making

the chips I like crumbling stuff up more

crumbly so that there's not big pieces

of cookies left because it looks really

cool if they're little pieces for the

foil

yeah that looks dead now I'm going to

take it out of the package and sprinkled

on on top of the cake on top looking

down a little messy here I'll pick these

up and put them on top see I'm going to

try to cover the chocolate flossing on

the tip to make the flowers flatten the

gumdrop with the back of the spoon just

like this like this now to knit the

tulip shape you want to start at one end

of the gumdrop and cut a small leaf like

that then leave a small space and cut

one on the other side if you're not

allowed to use a knife at home make sure

you ask an adult to help you so now I

want to take green gummed up and shaping

it to oval so that they look like leaves

so you kind of want to flatten out the

same idea you can use a spoon to it for

the spoon and then just kind of mold it

into an oval and I'll do one more

except this to leave saw a little flower

now I'm use the spoon okay found it the

oval shape with this one perfect open

that's a little okay now put them

together on your toothpick I'm going to

press the two loops at the top of the

flower into the toothpicks and then put

these two these on the side you can put

them together with solo put them

together like that once

kind of overlap the leaves in the back

where do that

now I'm going to put all the flowers

onto the cake I'll put the two Purple's

on either side and I'll put the two legs

like that too

I'll put the two oranges no like that

yeah okay for the final step of the cake

take your green colored coconut and

sprinkle it around this place so that

looks like grass around the kitchen

whoops I go a little my flower stick

it'll just pick it on the back I'm not

gonna mess this is fun okay now jump it

over here perfect and this is what the

cake will look like when it's finished

one can make this cake for her teachers

she usually puts a sign in it

it's just thanks for helping you go if

what's up with that with that what's

tried they he'd love to try I'd like to

try to bungee jumping because I like

thrills and taking risks bobsled

because I want to feel the rush the

sport I would love to try is mountain

climbing because I would like to climb

mountains snowboarding because I just

really want to get the feel of my feet

on a board like that I would like to try

parachuting because jumping off of plane

and being up so high sounds like a big

thrill I was asking because you can do

double flips and yet really fun stuff

like that and also give yet idea of how

it would be to fly a plane and to be a

bird with that what's up with that

with that what's that if you live in the

city any fun with these lots of

skyscrapers the skyscraper is a really

tall building and people work or live in

there called skyscrapers because they

scrape the stack Wow brassey's a maple

ridge British Columbia in Canada

challenged us to build a skyscraper and

hold the shoe box filled with 100

pennies we're going to see who can build

the tallest skyscraper all we can use to

build a skyscraper are pins and straws

you know that pings are very sharp so if

you try this at home be sure to get

permission to use them as any so I think

maybe if we start off with a big square

on the bottom Hill and look a little

pinch you can take a shuttle in it all

that is we start off with a big square

right we know that triangles are the

strongest shape right so just

watch yeah we can slip special I think

we should do something like this yeah

cuz if we made triangles separate I got

an old former square by an idea to like

say here's the straw and like a catch I

don't know how to do taxes maybe with

the busty pbht oh yeah yeah yeah and

then God destiny we did we touched the

straw in half but and then we did pass

it with pins and then make another one

over here another one over here and

another one over here and I do faster at

the top and then just do another one

another one is going problem with I

would be struck how many triangles in

two um to make a square yeah well

you need two triangles to make a square

a regular square so if we make four

triangles we can make two squares and

that would probably be big enough so I

think we need four triangles we need

four triangles or one box so you can

make so when I connected you can make

that one know what just coffee off that

one then we then read a tactic like this

and we just have oh yeah yeah and then

okay I'll make another one keeps adding

layers what's how that's three triangles

and it needs to come like a half of the

circle face yeah no we can make kind of

like a Oh what are these calls a little

how many sides it's a hexagon do you

think we should build our base just like

a little bit bigger because it's gonna

get narrower as we go oh yeah what we

need I'll try triangles are here

triangles here in then in the middle

tube and then once we have that you can

build it a hop and then connect it at

the top and you can make a whole nother

layer so one here one here one here one

here one here one here and then we'll

connect them all we could make our

bottoms out of like a triangle but out

of triangles so it's like this triangle

and we can build up from there that they

were doing and I don't like going off

with that that'll be some yeah it would

and then I have them building up like I

said yeah oh yeah it's a like combining

both sides oh yes

whoa it looks cool

so here's what we did so after we build

a structure we put the triangles on the

sides we need triangles on the inside on

each of these and then we come and

connected them in the top after that we

took these straws and made it kind of

like six or more triangles so it kind of

looks like the bottom so try it out we

want like at all no particular order

that's definitely no problem that's

really strong no but I think right here

in the middle is the most I think all

the weight is kind of focused I think on

this little light on the center point

right here the little bones Wow that

works well but don't know we have to

remember that we want to build a

high-rise I think that these straight

pieces right like right here and here

yeah like right here under compression

and like all these outer pieces right

here I like under tension they're

pulling apart and I being pushed down

down here Joyner

sure if this does work then we still

have to build another level because it's

a scratch paper

good job it works but now we have to

build a whole nother level

this one's a little different cuz

instead of having all the different

songs we only have one triangle in the

middle right now and then that we did

the same thing and it kind of looks like

the base for that yeah I was trying to

test it okay yeah I think that it this

will hold like a pretty good amount of

weight each other it's not the prettiest

thing though

I think that where we thought we needed

some more like support as we added like

little struts now they're under

compression so I think it actually is

really strong let's spread out the

pennies a little bit so the weights even

alright and then do you want to test it

from Pelican connecticut and i was

playing the blues my mother's home yeah

you might just want to use blue came

from the people that were having hard

times in the deep south of a song is

usually sad but it doesn't necessarily

have to be sad to be blues it can be a

happier take blues like a blues shuffle

is like and Saturdays is like my first

guitar was at age seven it was a gift

from my grandparents a week later my

parents took me to guitar lesson

my name music that I like is blues I

love moved because as a lot of feeling

that's what my dad used to play in his

garage band and I guess I just kind of

got hooked on the booze

this is how electric guitar works first

you take your guitar cord and plug it

into the F and cord goes into your

guitar and this is the vine control this

is how you get your sound when you turn

it up a little bit there's just a little

bit of sound and then when you turn it

up all the way it's a lot louder and

these are the pickups and each each

pickup has a magnet on it for each

string and that's how you get your sound

and these are the guitar strings there's

six strings these are the tuning pegs

you can tune the guitar like this now

that music I usually write the music

first

sometimes during the night I'll wake up

and if I have some idea with lyrics or

something I'll write it down on a piece

of paper so that the next day I don't

forget it

that's a blues some I don't do mushrooms

yeah I'm in a band and we practice about

eight hours a week my goal or dream it's

a game record deal cuz I saw a big

record company and touring all over the

world

all the Massachusetts kids are zooming

into action volunteers we received this

lettuce in Pittsfield we are partners

for youth our group is made up of youth

members from fourth Pittsfield largest

youth agencies girls incorporated the

boys and girls club the Pittsfield

Family YMCA and Catholic youth center

together we are participating in the

Pittsfield beautiful project in

Pittsfield Massachusetts by taking part

in this project the children were able

to take pride in their work to beautify

the park they play in the park is an

area that essentially located and used

frequently by each news agencies keep up

the good work Pittsfield here's now you

consume into action volunteer your time

you can visit with seniors or to the

kids who need help with their homework

zoom into action we built this fast

paper and it's drawers and pins it held

100 pennies in shoebox then we change

the design of our size paper

I cannot even straws together using tape

instead of pen we were really surprised

the straw is held together better with

tape than they did with pen with tape we

were able to point our straws in the

exact direction that we wanted them to

go in this let us think about putting

straws in places that needed more help

supporting more ways it also made our

designs a lot neater we use the same

design for our tape structure as we did

for our pin structure but we added this

diamond in the center of our structure

to prevent it from twisting this made

our structure really stable we doubled

our straws on the first level of our

structure this made stable and stronger

then we built the second floor of our

Tower with a single layer of straws to

keep it light okay guys let's ester cow

exam all right here onto a nice book so

yeah go an order of like the smallest

onion lunch

I totally the last on one side yeah it

was the ambassador of Bandung is all the

way it was on this side so see how when

I just pushed it viscera event we didn't

have anything protecting this side so

hi on that I'm 10 years old and I want

to show you the coolest building in the

world the Empire State Building in New

York City the Empire State Building is

about 1,300 feet tall bigger on the

bottom and has a deep foundation

but skinny Endicott so doesn't rip open

stress papers would mostly go because

you rent out a room on the ground so you

have to start building when it gets

windy yeah if I stay buildings built the

sleigh couple inches but it doesn't fall

over it has a centimeters you have to

help keep the building steady my dad

works here so I love the common visit
