obstacle courses what about egg races

what if you scrambled the two together

that's just what Elizabeth SE of great

Branch Virginia did when she sent us

this game it's called the eggle course

we think it's just edul

we're playing with eggs so make sure you

do this outside and if you don't want to

use eggs you might want to use tennis

ba*ls okay here's our egg sing course

while balancing an egg on your spoon you

have to run over to the

cardboard and write your name with

shaving

cream then you have to walk backwards to

this pad and write the alphabet with the

hand you don't normally write with then

you have to run over to the rocking

chair and rock four times one two three

four okay then you have to run over the

and you have to run around

them if you dropped your egg stop where

you are and pick it back up but if it's

broken I'll bring you a new one and

don't forget you have to do all these

things while balancing an egg on your

spoon the first team who finishes the

up here's today's what's up from the

Chicago Children's Choir we ask them

what's their favorite thing about being

in the choir my favorite part is that we

get to sing um different songs from

different countries and how we get to

meet um famous people we make such

beautiful music with all the diversity

in the choir because you know everyone

has different voice types and everything

and how the music can just sound so good

my favorite part about being in the chir

is all the music that we do together and

since there's so many different ethnic

groups we make such a different sound

that it's just beautiful and we all love

States we celebrate New York for just

one day well in Chinese tradition we

celebrate New Y for 15 days during this

time families clean and decorate their

homes and cook traditional food all to

bring good luck my family celebrates

both American and Chinese New yearor

Traditions one Chinese tradition is that

families give these envelopes to people

who they care about for good luck see

there are good luck wishes written on

the outside of the envelope here are the

ones that you can buy from a store and

here are the ones I'm going to teach you

how to

make my parents give them to me and my

sister every year traditionally people

put money inside of them before they

give them but some people like to put

candy or chocolate money in them some

people call them Ley but my family call

them Hong bow which is Red Envelope in

Chinese here's what you'll need to make

envelopes 6 in squares of red

construction

paper a blue stick and things to

decorate Ambush with like gold glitter

or gold 10 here's what you'll do okay

put your Red Scare in front of you so

that'll looks like a diamond

now number the corners 1 through four

starting at the top and going front

up and down is because in Chinese unlike

English you read up and down and you

read right left instead of left to

School in China by F kids and the noodle

Vermont hi I'm Josh briger at the

Beijing number one primary school behind

me a gym class is demonstrating their

daily routine but that's not the only

thing they do here let's explore the

school I talk to a middle school student

describ the school for me my school is

has has already 315 years old so it is a

very old school and there are lot of

modern teaching equipments here we have

ch showed us the computer lab this was a

rare thing to find in schools because

most don't have the money to afford this

type of equipment the reason Le could

speak such good English was because in

the model school all children are

required to learn English at an early

age but academics aren't the only thing

they do in these schools art is

considered important in China all kids

take courses like sewing and

painting these teachers in China stand

on platforms at the front of the class

to show that they have higher power over

the

students the uniform do you wear this on

any specific day no only on

Monday is there a a special reason for

uh they they do

the they do morning exercise here

because they believe in a healthy body

and Healthy Mind the students are more

disciplined and they're expected to work

together it would be cool for American

students to walk in the Chinese shoes

poo L poo is a Red Riding Hood tale from

China it was translated into English and

illustrated by Ed young L popo is about

three sisters whose mother leaves them

to go visit their grandmother who they

call Popo after the mother leaves a wolf

comes to their house and pretends to be

the girl's poo the girls have to work

together to outsmart the wolf what's

special about the book is the way the

sisters love and help each other this is

the type of book I like to read to my

younger sister if you've never read to a

younger brother or sister you should try

aluminum foil batteries string wire carb

board buzzers and anything else we can

think of Shing and I will be one design

team and Courtney and Florida will be

the other we're going to use smaller

models of real doys just like Engineers

would so let's just see you guys want to

oh when you open the door the circuit

has to be connected so when the door is

closed it has to be disconnected okay so

somehow when this door opens we have to

figure out how to get it to be connected

right so maybe we have maybe we

have this like this okay now we're going

to have to have that connect down yeah

so if we tape it here when it opens the

door it'll hit the back wire and the red

wire all to be attached and it'll the

the go off yes and then we should

probably connect um the wire the wire

coat hanger to the aluminum foil

probably well when the door

opens that's when they're going to

connect the door open connect yep y okay

now it's work so we can take this now we

can take the red wire on the positive

side of the

battery now we know that to make the

buzzer we need a complete circuit and we

know the circuit won't be complete until

the door opens so this needs to be

attached to

something how about we um attach this to

aluminum foil and then to the aluminum

foil we attach it to the

battery okay so we and we attach the

battery to the buzer so

this is like that yeah and then this is

to uh this is negative so it need go

here so we got the aluminum foil around

the black wire so now it should connect

very easily so let's

see can you rip that

wire so now when we open the

door

door and it hit it the circuit was

complet

like an onoff switch of the light switch

because right now it's open and it's not

really working just like when you have

it off and the light switch but when you

put the wires together it's a close

circuit that's so cool do you guys want

battery supplies with the

electricity this Bell needs two

batteries instead of just one we made a

conductor

and a conductor here and when the door

is open the two conductors touch and it

sounds the Bell so when you try to open

it makes a

noise completing a circuit is just one

way of engineering a door alarm here's

another this alarm runs on batteries and

here's how it

works an infrared beam shines out of the

box Mike's going to demonstrate for us

when Mike gets close to it his body

reflects the beam back to the Box the

beam then hits the receptor in the box

and turns on the

us and asked us to talk about racism and

stereotypes well how would you define

racism a is a race a color a race isn't

a color is it well it could be the color

skin or your like ethnic background

that's a Race So it's it's the the

judging of someone just because of their

ethnic background and stereotype is just

being just don't like not like putting a

label on someone because of what they a

group of people has anyone ever been

r*cist to to you or do you I don't

remember what grade but I was in the

cafeteria and I went up to this group of

people that were there the kids and

since they were white they said no you

cannot join our table I was like I said

why and they're like no you just can't

join our table and then I asked kept on

asking why and why and they said oh

because you're Hispanic and Hispanics

can't sit at this table I really felt

really bad I really I really started

questioning why am I Hispanic why why

can't I do this why can't don't they

accept me why is why can not like a

squad this has been known to happen a

lot with police M um like maybe they'll

see they'll see someone who's white drag

in a BMW and they won't saying anything

but if a black person's driving in a BMW

they might pull them over for speeding

they might even pull them over because

they think if it's a black person it it

they say oh a black person can't can't

have an expensive car oh they must they

it must be stolen and I really don't

know yeah you see it all the time like

you see it in movies TV shows

commercials yeah they always put people

in in like social classes that's what

I've seen I've seen that white people

always have been the highest class and

then you've always seen Black and

Hispanic people have been in little in

like every in every single Pro like all

the projects they're like really bad

people they either go to gangs and

everything and I think that's just wrong

how could someone thinks like that you

know it happens a lot I'm sure

everyone's caught themselves once in a

while to be like prejudiced or r*cist I

mean I know I'm like I have a label um

people with piercings on their face that

automatically think that they're like in

a g*ng or they're like you know evil or

whatever you know that they'll be mean I

knew this kid in my school who he he's

in the all the all the big hard

streaming bands that dress up all crazy

and the big pants and the makeup and the

DED hair and he's he's the sweetest kid

he's a really nice kid well one time I

caught myself I do double Dutch and the

sort of stereotype at our school was

that only African-Americans had the

Rhythm would be to do it so one time a

white person came over and asked us to

do it we were just like definitely not

you would be so bad you're you'd be

horrible at it and and after that you

just kind of think about it like oh wait

yeah you never know they could be like

double dutch Championship yeah yeah what

do you guys think we can do about all

this racism and Prejudice catch

stereotypes so what what do you do when

you catch catch myself think about what

I did and try never to do it again yeah

just because we're kids we can still we

can still stand that have a lot of power

you don't have to make enemies like that

like if someone tells you a blonde joke

and and you're like that's that's you

don't have to say that's not funny at

all if somebody tells you a joke like

that you could be like I don't think

that's very funny and I think that would

offend people if you told that don't

don't be like too serious because then

they'd know that like they would really

get mad at you but say it in a calm way

so that they would

understand

from Indianapolis Indiana have when they

volunteer these members of the Zoom team

are part of Angels in the Hood from the

coffin Chapel am Church they regularly

volunteer their time in their Community

this day they were at the Dayspring

Center a shelter for families who are

homeless they read books play games and

had a great time one thing that I really

like about coming here is because it's

just I love playing with
