to have our own Zumer

Olympics orange who will win the first

ever Zumer Olympics and who will get the

cardboard gold

these aren't just regular eggs they're

cascaron in Mexico it's a tradition to

make casaron in Carnival Carnival is a

big Festival house every year breaking

them is supposed to bring good luck

Brianna J of Lou and Idaho says that

making cascaron is a custom that she

shares with her family every year you

might want to ask a parent before you

makees the zoom do oh good idea kind of

tricky all right start by taking an egg

and take a thumb tack or a pin and poke

a hole in the egg all right so do you

want me to hold it poke the hole it's

kind of it's hard to poke the hole

through the eggshell poke a hole then on

the opposite side of the egg you want to

poke a hole about the size of a dime you

can use a butter knife or you can even

crack it against the table a little just

going of Wiggle around break the yolk

inside with a

pin and and then dump the inside but

this part looks funny Hold It Up Hold It

Up carnival comes right before lent

right and the Spanish word for eggshell

it's kasara cascara yeah wash out your

egg with warm

water probably want to wash your hands

after handling the egg yolk too yeah mhm

let it sit so that the inside can dry

out so that the confetti doesn't stick

and once it's dry you can decorate it

decorated you can use markers as well as

tissue paper egg dye anything you really

want you can use both too much that

works so then once you're decorated

you're going to stuff your casconi

withit confetti

confetti stuff that casconi fill it on

up yeah so these are also play with in

Spain and Southwest parts of um United

States oh wow so they're actually pretty

popular yeah okay so mine's pretty full

good then you want to take a piece of

tissue paper like this cut a little

piece off hold my egg of course cut a

little piece off cut a little tiny piece

and you want to glue it around the

bigger of the opening that's just so the

the uh confetti doesn't all fall out you

got a white egg you can make the um

blend in or any color yeah so this will

go go with that color would be like an

optical illusion wouldn't look like

there's anything there yeah so here you

Jennifer Phoenix Arizona sent us this

fun science game where you have to use

your ears to figure out where a sound is

coming from it's called clapping where

you need at least five people to play

I'm going to be the pointer and Kyle's

going to be the guesser and everybody

else is going to be the clappers good

job guys you already got it down so you

guys are going to circle around Kyle and

he's going to close his eyes so he you

don't want him to know where you

are got it don't say anything I feel

your

presence all right and then when I point

to somebody they're going to clap we're

not testing this one because I don't

wanted to know where you guys are all

right got it first we're going to play

with two ears and then we're going to

play again with one ear covered to see

which way is better and Jennifer also

said that we can keep track of how many

right or wrong guesses on a chart and

Shane's going to be our recorder

let's look at what we got so who got the

most right on one ear Kyle Kyle got the

right and and Francesco and my didn't

get any rate for one year hey me and M

have the exact same day they all did

about the same on two ears we all did

you so it must be a lot harder with one

ear when you hear a sound your brain

uses the information from your ears to

figure out where the sound is coming

from if your left ear catches sound

before your right ear then your brain

knows that the sound is coming from the

left side but if one ear is covered the

brain doesn't have as much information

so it's harder to tell which side the

sound is coming from your head might

also block sounds from your

like if a sound was coming from over

there it might sound different to this

year because my head was in the way try

that home and see if you and your

friends got the same results to make it

harder try clapping up above your head

or down near the ground or you could try

standing in a line instead of a circle

whatever you find send it to zoom so now

we know that two ears are better than

one when figuring out where a sound is

coming from but keep watching because

later in the show we'll see if two eyes

are better than one in playing this

open is go and perceive it to be I

thought like it was over and then it

always seemed to be right before did we

didn't do as well when we had one eye

open that's because your brain uses

information from both eyes to tell how

far away something is the information

your brain gets from each eye is

slightly different here's how you can

find this out take both fingers put your

left hand in front of your face just

like that about a foot away and then put

your next finger another foot away now

shut one eye

now shut the other eye you'll see how

the finger

jumps try this Penny game at home and

see if you and your friends get the same

result is there anything else you could

do to make it so that your brain can

figure out how far away the penny is

when you only have one eye open would

taping another Penny to the side of the

cup help or would it make a difference

if you closed your left ey instead of

your right ey but whatever you find out

about the environment and the way we're

learning more about it is by animal

tracking animal tracking is looking for

and finding signs of a wild animal signs

include a den animal footprints or scats

if a set of footprints has been found we

make a close inspection to see how fresh

trailers next we follow it very quietly

making guesses about what the facts and

signs are telling us if we do see the

animal we stop stand very still and just

watch if a river has lots of animal

activity around it it means the river is

healthy like this one do you volunteer
