All these talented, amazing singers,

and I'm finally here.

My name is Ronnie Wilson.

I'm 28 years old,
originally from South Carolina,

but now reside in Atlanta, Georgia.

I live kind of like a double-sided life.

So, we have Ronnie Little,
which is my real name,

the accountant, 9 to 5,
number-crunching type of person.

And then on the flip side,
we have Ronnie Wilson.

That's the fun entertainer,
singer, part-time comedian,

depending on who you ask.

I believe that I bend the line

kind of on masculine and feminine.

So I do enjoy having makeup on my face,

making myself look pretty,

and I'm just my full, authentic self.

Music has always been embedded
into who I am.

My mother sang.
She was a youth choir director at church.

I mean, she stuck me on that choir,

gave me a microphone,
and haven't looked back since.

I am very supportive
of his choice in music,

and I'm so proud of him.

He was born singing from day one.

I mean, seriously, he came out...
[imitates baby singing]

-[laughs]
-Singing.

Seriously.

[Ronnie] I believe
that me being on "The Voice"

me being, not just Black,
but Black and g*y, living in the South,

still very active in the church today,

to see me truly embrace
all aspects of myself,

I hope that I can inspire others

to just fully be themselves
in the best possible way.

You know, I have had that
security blanket of accounting,

so it can be scary
to take that leap of faith.

How am I going to eat?
How am I going to pay my bills?

What am I going to do to support myself?

I kind of wonder what are your influences?

So gospel music is a heavy influence,

but also country music.
A lot of country music.

I just want you to keep
your eyes over here and not over there.

[Chance] I do just want
to throw it out there...

John used to work with numbers.

I was a management consultant,
crunching numbers...

-Yeah.
-...making PowerPoint presentations.

-Yeah, a lot of those.
-[John] Yeah.

I know what it's like
to be in that 9 to 5.

that just makes a person feel good.

for going on 50 years now.

is you created moments by

My name is Zoe Levert.

I'm 20 years old,
and I'm from New Orleans, Louisiana.

I'm currently in college.

I'm a psychology major
with a minor in music,

and I'm super involved in
my school's music program,

and that's where I met my fiancé.

His name is Ryan.

He claims that he had a crush on me
as soon as he saw me, but I asked him out.

Kind of a flex.

I met her in a music class,

and she walked in, and I saw her eyes.

The rest is history.

[Zoe] Ryan is just one of
the most selfless people I've ever met.

He's so supportive of
all of my crazy, wild dreams.

I truly believe that I have
found the perfect person for me.

My dad is a pastor.

My mom is a counselor.

Their involvement in ministry
caused us to move around a lot.

So, I was born in Odenton, Maryland,

and then we moved to Columbus, Ohio,

and then Destrehan, Louisiana.

Then we moved to Raleigh, North Carolina,

and then Denham Springs, Louisiana,

and now I live in New Orleans.

Being that young,
switching schools all the time,

it can be hard, but I always had my music.

I'm a songwriter.

I started to really
take songwriting seriously

when Taylor Swift's
"Folklore" album came out.

And I was just so in love with the
different writing devices she was using.

I am a major Swiftie. Die-hard Swiftie.

For my blind audition, I'm singing
"Better Man [Taylor's Version]."

I'm Ducote Talmage, I'm 20,
and I'm from Auburn, Alabama.

Oh, yeah. It's purdy out here.

Life in Auburn, it's great.

Growing up, it literally felt like
I was at a wildlife camp every day.

-What's up, everybody?

Out here, hanging with the fam.

I'm the youngest of five kids.
Never a dull moment.

I mean, I was always having
to beat somebody for food or anything.

Music's been a part of the family
ever since, you know, we could walk.

Dad and I and all the brothers,
we called ourselves the Little River Boys.

Our only shows were at home,
and we all just played around a campfire.

Even though we probably
could have made it big time,

we decided to let
the other people have their glory.

So we just kept it to the living room.

The fire truck's all ready to go.

It's still dark out, but crack of dawn.

Once I graduated high school,
I decided to become a firefighter.

Ducote's a very genuine person.

You know, his brothers,
they were all firemen.

-And they were a big role model for us...
-Yeah.

...to serve our community.

I think he has
a passion for helping people,

so I think he does
that with his music as well.

[Ducote] As a firefighter, it's
a wide range of different things that,

at any moment, you could be called to.

Of course, fires.

You could have a car wreck where,
you know, somebody's trapped in a car

and you gotta get them out.

It can definitely be scary,

but, you know,
that's where your training kicks in.

What I love the most about your voice
is that just little scratch in it.

It's such a cool tone. It's breathy.

My name is JJ Higgins.

I am 46 years old,
originally from Tampa, Florida,

but I live in Nashville, Tennessee, now.

I am married, met my wife originally
when she was 12 and I was 15.

So we were first loves, separated,

and then didn't see
each other for 12 years,

and found each other again later in life.

We got married, and on our honeymoon night
is when she got pregnant.

We both had always wanted children,

so we were excited when we found out,
just surprised.

I believe six weeks into the pregnancy,
we knew that there were complications.

She ended up in the hospital at 25 weeks,

and then they finally
did an emergency C-section.

Our son, Jayden, basically
lived in the NICU for almost a month,

and then we had to make the decision to...

To let him go.

When we were going back
and forth from the NICU every day,

I would go down...

I would watch
the mothers walk out with their baby,

and I just knew...

that we wouldn't.

[JJ] It was in the first year of marriage,
so we were still newlyweds.

We tried for a little while
to have another child, and...

it was difficult.

But I remember going to work one night,

and she calls me and she says,
"I'm going to go to the doctor."

And we went and had
dinner after I got done working.

And she hands me a card,
and it says "You're going to be a father."

Jayce!

So Jayce is our miracle child.

So much life.

He's all around just an amazing,

creative, happy child.

JJ... I feel like he has put
his passion for music on hold

to be the dad and husband
and the provider that we've needed.

And we want this so bad for him

because this is what
I know he was made to do.

since I was eight, nine years old.

But when we lost my son,

And it was through my son Jayce that hurt

I'm Ryan Coleman, I'm 25,
and I'm from Chalfont, Pennsylvania.

From a young age, I always knew
farming would be a part of my life,

because it's something I love to do.

I was four years old or so
when I was milking my first cow.

Farming is not work
for the faint of heart.

It really teaches you hard work.

It's not for everybody,
but it's definitely for me.

But music, I've always wanted
to do it for a living since I was a kid.

So, when I was a senior in college,
I was really focusing on music.

I was trying to play as much as I could,

whether it was, you know,
school gigs, fraternity fundraisers.

Everything was going just as planned
until, uh, one day, everything changed.

I was kind of out in
the middle of nowhere.

I had a large pickup truck at the time.

The truck kind of s...
drifted away from me. I hit a berm.

The truck actually
ended up rolling six times,

and I went through the windshield.

I had a severe concussion.
I slipped a disc in my back.

I was laying in the snow.
I was bleeding a lot.

I couldn't move much.

You know, my concussion
lasted several weeks.

I was in a bed for a few months.

Man, does it change
your perspective on things.

I was a 22-year-old kid who thought I had
the rest of my life to look forward to,

and, one day, you just never know.

It's been a huge motivator.

You know, I want to do what I want to.

I want to achieve what I want to,
because tomorrow is never a given.

That's why I'm here, you know?

The Ponca Tribe of Oklahoma,
Pawnee Tribe, the Northern Hidatsas.

My great-grandmother
was one of their last full-bloods.

So being raised to know where
I come from still sticks with me today.

My name is AJ Harvey. I'm 25 years old.

I'm originally from Wichita, Kansas,
but now I'm living in Norman, Oklahoma.

[AJ] I grew up in what we call our circle.

We put a drum in the middle.

Everything that we've done,

from the way we live,
the way we eat, it's always in a circle.

I always gravitated to that drum.

I wanted to be in the band as a young kid.

[plays blues guitar]

My dad, he was a bluegrass
fiddle player for a long time,

and that's what
really sparked the interest.

I think I can also relate to why I'm drawn
to American Delta blues music.

Elvis Presley
and Muddy Waters and B.B. King,

Ray Charles, those original guys
that were down in the Mississippi Delta.

They weren't singing off a paper.
They were singing what they felt.

And that's how it is when we're
around that arena. It's what you feel.

And eventually, it was time to leave home.

It was hard, but I was ready to be a part
of a music scene in Norman, Oklahoma.

So, I was lucky enough
to land a residency gig

with a band called Biscuits and Groovy.

[chuckles]

That's been my residency home
on a Thursday night.

It's a small bar called The Deli.

-You blossom onstage.
-Blossom.

-He blossoms.
-Just blossoms.

He puts his heart and soul into it,

-and you can really tell.
-[partner] Absolutely.

[Grace] You see every hour
that he has practiced,

every string he has ever broken.

[AJ] For the blind auditions, I'm singing
Bob Dylan's "Girl From The North Country."

It's a very meaningful song to me.

I'm a great admirer of Bob Dylan.

This is just a guy and his guitar,
singing what's going through his head,

what's going through his heart
at that time.

And that's what I want to do
in front of these coaches.

I spend a lot of my time kickboxing.

It's helped me fight my way through.

I grew up singing and dancing.

Ever since I was little,

I couldn't sit down because I would be up,
moving and singing and dancing.

-When she was like 10 years old,

she came in and said,
"I want to call a family meeting."

It's always been in me.

I don't know where
it came from, I truly don't.

After high school, I started traveling

But I was ready to be the front man,
so I decided to move to L.A.

I have L.A. and palm trees,
so can't beat it.

Now I have a residency
in Hollywood at this supper club.

Like, I truly feel like I'm living
a dream every single time I do that.

is when the vibrato is so wavy,
sometimes it kind of, like,

pulls you off the desired note

and you're so close to that, I think.
