It is the most important night
of the season, obviously.

We've got a ton of show to get to,

including a big performance
by a country music superstar.

He was also this season's mega mentor
and good friend.

Keith Urban is gonna perform.

I had a chance to sit down with
Nathan Chester and his coach to chat.

And, yes, he had all the right moves.

Well, Nathan, you're a finalist
on "The Voice." Congratulations.

You earned your way into the finale.

[Daly] At the blind audition
you sang Al Green.

When you turned your chair,
I was like, "Oh, my God!"

♪ Take it no more ♪

[Nathan] You have been one of my idols.

So I walked out of that blind audition
with tenfold confidence.

[John] What I loved about Nathan

was that he really had a sense of clarity
about the kind of music he wanted to do.

And he's been the only person
in that lane.

And I think it's made him
really stand out.

♪ I fooled around and fell... ♪

[Daly] So you make it to the knockout
rounds and you do Elvin Bishop.

I'm looking at you, Reba.

-[crowd laughs]
-[Daly] You called out Reba,

and we start to really see
the performer that you are.

[Nathan] I saw an opportunity
to flirt with Reba a little bit,

and it was a risk.

-She loved it.
-I like you singing to me.

-[Nathan laughs]
-So that was great. [laughs]

We were just seeing
all the tricks in your tool bag.

[Daly] So next we move on to the playoffs.
And where did the splits come from?

-I first demonstrated it as a coach...
-Oh, sure you did.

...and then he followed in my footsteps.

-Would you like to show us?

It's for our private coaching moments.

I wanted to impress John.

-[John laughs] I love it.
-I wanted to surprise him.

but done sort of in your way.

The night before, I was on YouTube,
and I found some little mic-stand-ography.

I was like, "I could do something
with the mic stands."

It was amazing to see all
the vocal prowess and the charisma.

I think our audience is feeling that.

I believe there's something
about a cheesecake.

I really like cheesecake.

My wife makes a mean cheesecake,
and you can just come to the house.

like, we do work on things together,

but there were some new things
that you added in rehearsal

that really added dynamic
and variation to a song

that can be very repetitive
if you let it be.

And it was so smart the way you did it.

with such exuberance and skill

and energy and electricity.

and I was blown away when I heard
'Bohemian Rhapsody' for the first time.

I remember asking my mom
for a guitar for my 14th birthday.

She surprised me
with the guitar I really wanted,

which was a huge sacrifice
for her at the time.

I miss you, Mom.

My dear grandmother Gladys

got to see me play music with The Newsboys

a few months before she passed away.

It was her first and only concert
she had ever been to,

and I'll never forget
the look of joy on her face.

Music has helped me
have deeper bonds with my kids.

Music helped me through
my toughest season of life

and brought me to 'The Voice.'"

They have been incredibly

She's a pure country music singer.

For me, it's a very personal thing.
My dad served.

Um. He's a retired
sergeant major of 42 years

-and four wartime deployments.

There's been a Polinski
in the US Army spanning 80 years.

And knowing what this uniform represents
for people all around the world,

that's such a very humbling experience,

-and tapping into that to give to people.
-I love that.

And we're not just representing
the people that are serving now.

We're representing everyone
who has worn the uniform before us.

It's worth singing about,
and to represent that

and be the ambassador of the Army,

-you know, with music, is special.
-Such a sense of pride. I can feel it.

Wearing the uniform,
