Once Upon an orphanage my life was a

near tragic State

I longed to find a brighter place

somewhere somewhere full of love and

grace I dream of fields with a cool

when I got my wish I pinched myself to

make sure this home was real

they said for a boy but then I was a

girl my dreaming had just let me down

again if I came as a queen this long

ebony hairs and maybe they'd feel I was

worth it for them I'm a good worker in

spite of My Talking I belong to belong

here for all of my life don't send me

away without seeing I see everything I

touch

full of joy just give me your hand and

I have something worthwhile just let me

veritable Feast for any child's

imagination we came to put up posters

for the magic show to earn some money

those are the kind of play things that

would make my room at Green Gables seem

so sophisticated don't count your

chickens before they're hatched and

surely orphans who are brought up with

nothing always try to pretend they're so

lovely assistant awaits me

look at that oh my that's quite simply

the most awe-inspiring marionette I've

ever seen it must cost a fortune I could

easily afford it my allowance is

substantial enough

just the same I would rather have a game

that does something that's useful like

that magic set wouldn't that make all

the difference to your boring little

magic show it comes complete with all

the proper equipment Rings magic cards

even a fancy Top Hat shame an orphan

like you doesn't have two cents to rub

together as for me I intend to buy that

how money doesn't just appear and you

usually have to work hard for it except

I've got an idea boy if she came up with

magic tricks as fast as her ideas we'd

have a wonderful show

arithmetic quiz and perhaps we have some

learning and hard work

sure that of course I've had to return

the magic set I couldn't really afford

save I may be able to buy it yet well
