names like fuzzy wuzzy Leonardo Chuckles

and Farmer Brown Smokey Blanca and Fuji

bears see Julie this little guy needs a

name so we can tell him apart from all

those other teddy bears and teddy bear

like creatures plus we have to choose a

name for him so we will know if he gets

a phone call well first things first

let's give him a first name oh yeah he's

tipping over he's tipping he's a puppet

yeah let's see what name really suits

him oh he's tipping over again oh he

sure is a Tippy

bear Tipp Tippy yeah that's it his name

is Tippy right tippy tippy yeah yeah

Tippy really yes Tippy I like it well

it's okay but uh Tippy needs a last name

and I've got an idea tippy

mcneel tippy mcneel yes oh that's not an

idea mcneel is your last name Leo on I

know don't you love it no uh-uh picking

a first name was sort of easy but last

names last names are hard well sure

that's because last names are very

important they mean things it goes way

back to the time when people didn't have

last

names

us no I haven't seen her or Tippy

anywhere you know I've been thinking

maybe bill needs a new name what's wrong

with Bill I don't know I don't think

it's right for him Leon he's an Arma

deal just pick a name you know Kiki most

people don't just choose any old name

yeah no see they choose names in honor

of other people or or for what the names

mean Native Americans choose names very

carefully

really that's right and every baby is

welcomed into the family with a special

ceremony called a baby

blessing the whole family gathers around

and listens as the medicine man sings a

prayer for the

baby this baby's name is

Christian that's my chadala my

grandfather his Apache name is

chaha he was named after a relative who

had a long and healthy

life now that's Aly Chief Aly must have

been a tiny baby because his name means

small gono he was a great leader in

Apache his name is gaki it means smart

one as an Apache when you're given a

name it's really important because it

tells something about who you

are wow that's terrific sky maybe

that'll help me pick a new name for Bill

maybe we should look for Julie maybe

something's wrong I wonder why she and

Tippy went away H maybe she went to

teach Tippy his

because other kids make fun of

family my family comes from

China great great grandfather woo was a

farmer in China his son

great-grandfather woo came to

America then my grandfather woo was born

in the

USA his family had a grocery store in

Chinatown his mother taught in a Chinese

school they all lived in San Francisco

and so do

I today there are millions of people

named woo all over the

world and I'm one of

them wow I didn't know that your name

had such a wonderful history

Julie uhhuh and it's your name too

now that is AES unbelievable uh she can

actually make that little bear talk yeah

well haven't you ever seen a puppet

before nuzzle a what a puppet yeah just

thing you just shake it around and uh

you make it talk that is the most

amazing thing I have ever heard

of oh Sizzle she's doing it again wow so

anyway Tippy that's what I wanted to

tell you if your last name is going to

be woo you have to be ready for some

people to make fun of

it but why are other kids so

mean well they don't always do it to be

mean they do it to be

funny yeah I guess it makes them feel

important well what can you do when that

happens well you say

something yeah you stand up straight and

tall and you say it hurts my feelings

when you say that I'm proud of my name

and not just

anybody I'm more than just hey you

there's something you can call me that

I'll always answer

to there's a word that tells you who I

am it's my claim to fame and without it

I'd be incomplete like a picture without

a frame it's my name it's my ID it's who

I am and always will be it's my babe at

it's plate to see it FS me to a te it's

my name says a lot about me but it makes

me I got my name when I became part of

family when I hear it I feel so proud

fork like when they call me cloudy Sky

instead of just Sky yeah when they call

me goo instead of Kiki and when they

call me neon or Freon instead of just

Leon you mean you mean it happens to you

guys

too yeah sometimes they call me bunny

instead of Benny well it shouldn't

happen at all names are important you

should be proud of your name yeah

yeah my name says a lot about me my name

makes me me I got my name when I became

family when I hear it I feel so proud
