okay Leon what's the story I mean it's

kind of fun throwing a bunch of balloons

on the floor but I thought we were gonna

go to the Moon yeah

yeah are going to the Moon

walking on the moon is

been walking on Earth on the moon you're

lighter and you bounce when you walk

so um the balloons will make the

basement more like oh that's a brilliant

idea thank you hey do you think we have

enough

uh yes I believe we do hey guys

you ready to explore yes

whoa looks terrific yeah all right

fellow astronauts I give you the Moon

hold it don't think that dogs and cats

are supposed to live on the moon

um well they must be on vacation yes

they look wonderful

ah and they smell good too oh they're

called Chinese moon cakes Kiki because

uh they look like the moon right well

they do look kind of like the moon I

guess but uh actually we call them moon

cakes because we eat them during the

Chinese Moon Festival

it's like a like a party for the Moon

the Moon Festival is celebrated in the

fall when the moon is round and fall

just like moon cakes they are filled

with delicious nuts and seeds

you decorate the house with lanterns

they shine like the Moon

aren't they pretty

do you like them

when everything is ready family and

friends come over to celebrate

a Moon Festival is a time to be thankful

for all good things

so Grandma Moss is a blessing

everybody enjoys a special dinner it

tastes so good

pretending that the basement is the moon

Sizzle and see when you walk around on

the moon you're sort of bound to do

first cat and dog respectively to land

on the moon oh wait we have to do

something bigger so we have to do

something important we have to uh

no no before that Sizzle we have to

night of the Moon Festival in China

wow so what do we do with that bowl well

see how it's full of water yeah yeah

well you look into it until you can see

the moon's reflection then if another

face appears next to it in the water

that is the person that you won't marry

do you want to try oh sure

why not that's great honey hey wait a

minute

not see the moon Julie we're inside

right so we're gonna pretend that that

light is the moon so first I have to

move the bowl so that you can see that

light reflected in the water oh yeah

yeah

there okay you can see I pretend one in

the water yeah I'll go first okay okay

set the moon in the water if I see

another face that's the face of my true

love the person I'm gonna marry

so exciting too

colors didn't matter

show us some of the ways that people who

are of different colors can be together

hug tight glue once a week on Wednesdays

the twits had bird pie for supper in my

family I have a mother a father and a

sister and two cats my family we'd like

to spend time with each other and we

like to read books to each other put the

letter up against the big dead tree my

mother is right why are all and my

father is black and horrible and when

you put those two together they make me

which is mixed the glue he used was

called hug tight it makes me feel glad

that I'm kind of different than kind of

everybody else because

I have a black daddy who has

stopped in my family we like to cook I

would basically like to be with each

other what about

what does it take let me know I like

cracking the eggs and pouring the water

in and stirring it up action

it's it's all very fun

I have two of them Katie was doing the

solo and then uh Jenny my mom and dad

are family people

and they can just um go up to a person

and say hi I'm blah blah blah and and

the person will just say oh wow and then

they just like be friends and it's it's

faster than most people can oh my God

they're friends all different colors all

right everyone it's ice cream time all

right

who's got the uh my family and I like to

um play sorry and um we like to eat ice

cream because ice cream's sweet and

everybody likes ice cream everybody has

a sweet tooth we like to play these kind

of games because we like to be together

I'm so sorry I'm gonna you back

sorry I've watched my mom and dad get

along together and I know that it can be

done that two different colors can get

along together and be friends oh I feel

very lucky to have my mom and dad

because they mean a lot to me and if I

didn't have them I'd be an unlucky child

and there are some kids out there who

don't have what I have and I like to say

that I'm lucky

there are so many ways that people who

are different colors can play together

and work together and be together

that's it

doesn't know that we just have to tell

what is a dog or when I ask myself this

question I grew very sentimental old

dogs are are cute puppies

that is not a good speech for the first

dog ever to land on the moon it's what

this is what you should say

I am very proud to be the first dog on

the moon it is a great honor and I would

like to thank all the dogs who came

before me to make it possible I only

hope that I can live up to their example

so that all dogs will be welcome on the

moon for now and forevermore

that was the most beautiful speech that

I have ever made

earthlings who had them you're the most

qualified to make the moon cake run Leon

some great news what so okay you are

African-American and Julie is Chinese

American and it doesn't matter I know

because people who are different colors

can

can friends and do all kinds of great

things together I know I'm friends with

all of you right a lot of kids know that

they can be friends with people no

matter what color their skin is

right

I have friends that are all different

colors you can make friends with anyone

I've got a friend who was black and I've

known her since kindergarten and we're

really close friends the most important

thing is friendship not color as long as

you treat each other right you can be

friends if you're black or white or

Hispanic or whatever it doesn't matter

you can still be friends

I have a friend that's Puerto Rican and

Asian I'm into a lot of things together

you shouldn't like color get in the way

you could be friends with anybody

knew how wonderful it is to have friends

of many colors

to those kids yeah and just like us here

at the puzzle place yes yes yes that's

just wonderful okay so if you'll excuse

me I'll just take some moon cakes and

beyond my Merry Little Wayne

might be in big trouble back on Earth

besides he could be eating all the moon

cakes and not saving any for us oh no
