Whoaaaa!

[screams and giggles]

Yahooooo!

[woman on TV] Come on down
to the Stiffle Mall Bookstore today.

First Dog Filibuster
and the First Lady

will be autographing
their new bestseller,

"From Doghouse to White House,"

and every visitor will receive

a free genuine
White House dog dish!

[gasp]

Wow!

Wouldn't it be great

to meet the most powerful dog
in the world?

Oh-oh-oh!
I know, I know, I know!

I could be his spiritual guru!

Offer my views on world peace,

suggest ways he can help
the strays and impounded,

take over his mind
until he does my bidding

and I take over the world!

[thunder crashes]

Oopsie, ha ha ha.

I guess I got ahead of myself.

[sighs] You know, I'll bet dinner
tastes twice as good

from a presidential dog dish.

It's the chance of a lifetime.
Let's go!

[bark]

Wait! We can't go.

It's almost time
for the B-b-bark Brigade.

Lieutenant Pug's gonna teach us
map reading.

Who needs map reading?

You can always ask
at the gas station, right?

All those in favor
of cutting class, say aye.

-Aye!
-Aye!

Aye!

Nay!

-[puppies yip]
-I demand a recount!

What if the Colonel finds out
we're skipping Bark Brigade class?

He'll think we let him down!

Relax.

We'll get Filibuster
to paw-print us an excuse.

After all, he's got
the Commander-in-Chief

wrapped around his leash.

Bye-bye!

[puppies yip]

Oh, wait for me!

-[puppies bark]
-Come on, guys, wait up!

The cadet map training course
is laid out

exactly to your specifications,
Colonel!

When the feline hordes invade,
our cadets will be ready.

Oh, uh, right.
Good work, Lieutenant.

At the end of this class,

I expect every cadet
to be a master map reader.

Now, carry on.

Roll call!

-Two-tone.
-Here.

-Wizzer.
-Here.

Lucky? Lucky?

Lucky!

Hmm?

[gasps]

Cap'n Tripod,
we've got trouble.

[Tripod yips]

[Spot] Guys, slow down!

Map training starts in 15 minutes,

and those yard bird cadets
are sneakin' off somewhere!

-You think they're going AWOL, sir?
-If they are,

I'll drag their rookie butts home
for a court martial!

Tripod, you're
the highest-ranking cadet.

Take over the class!

I'm gonna do a little recon.

Wow! This mall's really huge.

We'll never find Filibuster!

[man] Welcome,
Stiffle Mall shoppers!

For today's visit
by the First Lady and First Dog,

the Secret Service
requires that each dog

be accompanied by its owner.

Thank you so very much.

[dog snarls]

Where are your pets?

Uh, we left them home.

They're house broken.

No humans, no entry.

-Scram!
-Aaaaah!

He could definitely use a workshop
in anger management.

And I'd love to facilitate.

Oh, turned away at the door.

Can you believe it?
I am just sick about this.

Let's go home!

[snarls]

Forget it, we're going in.

And I think I found our cover.

[pants]

Looks more like desertion
every second.

Gotta follow 'em. They're gone!

Hey, short stuff,
where are you goin'?

Now, just stand down, mister!

I got official military business.

Four deserters
went through those doors,

and I'm trackin' 'em!

Then you'll have
to go through me.

The White House
didn't send me here

to let runty little loudmouths

threaten national security. [growls]

Little?

Why, you muscle-bound,
brain-dead pile of...

pile of...

[snors]

[puppies yip]

Oooh!

[pant]

[Spot] This place is a maze!

Now, I know we'll never find
the First Dog.

No sweat, all we need
is a mall directory map.

Bingo!

It says, "You are here."

How do they know it's us?

They have their ways.

I think we're right here,

in the Titanium Terrarium Terrace.

No, that's silver.
We're in the red, see?

That's the Magnificent
Marble Mezzanine.

Nuh-uh.
Red is the Grandiose Garden.

This map doesn't make any sense.

Oh!

Argh.

So, that Secret Service weenie
wouldn't stay and fight.

Thought he could keep me out,
did he?

Well, I sure outsmarted him, huh?

Silly Doberman.

Look, if we follow them,
they'll lead us to the First Dog.

[sniffs]

Ecch! Smells like we're near
a garbage boutique.

[sniffing]

Ewww!

Smells more like Fumingdale's.

[gasps]

It's Pug!

[Spot] Oh, he'll report us
to the Colonel!

[Lucky] Stay cool.
Just don't let him see us.

-[flies buzz]
-Halt!

Halt, you deserters!

[Lucky] If he doesn't catch us,
he can't prove a thing to the Colonel!

Run!

[crash]

Now you're making me mad.

[crowd exclaims]

[man] Look out, look out!

Halt, you AWOL renegades!

[Lucky] The only way out is up!

[man] Come on,
what's goin' on here?

[man] What is going on?

[Spot squawks]

Hey! Whoa!

Deserters at 10 o'clock!

Discover the mystery
of Forbidden Excessive Passion.

-Forbidden...
-[boing]

[sniffs]

[screams] Get away, get away!

Discover the mystery of this,
you little stink b*mb!

Aaaah! Poison gas attack!
Take cover!

-Oh!
-Aaah!

[bottles shatter]

Now's our chance.
Let's get out of here!

Surrounded!

I hate the smell of perfume
in the morning.

Oh, we're in for it now.

Pug will hunt us down like animals!

We are animals.

Worse. If Pug catches us,
we'll have to face the Colonel.

Anybody got any ideas?

Well, we could humbly confess,

beg for mercy,

and then blame you
for getting us into this mess.

No, that's not a good idea.

But this is.

We ask Filibuster
to get us a presidential pardon,

and then they can't throw us
out of the Bark Brigade.

Come on, let's find that bookstore.

I'll fan out through
the Titanium Terrarium Terrace,

blanket the Magnificent
Marble Mezzanine.

Yeah... Fanning out could be tricky.

[collie yips]

[sniffs]

Heads up. That bug-eyed male runt
lurking in sector six

is the same culprit
who attempted ill*gal entry.

Well, we'd better nab him.

Negative. We might panic this crowd.

Let's see what he's up to first.

Deserters have gone underground.
Gotta flush 'em out.

Eagle 4 to Patriot 6.

Leaving post to provide
surveillance of probable spy.

I can't figure this thing out.

The bookstore
is either that way or that way.

Maybe... Hey! Where's Rolly?

Whoa, papa!

Soup on a stick.

Cajun, yogurt, Hagenskeevers!

Oh, man!

Sensory overload!

[slurping]

[gasp] Ooh!

-[gasp]
-Rolly's gonna get us busted!

We gotta get himoutta there!

Hey, no livestock allowed!

[Lucky] Come on!

[gulps]

It's the whole herd!

Get outta here! Ugh!

Gimme a hand there, buckaroo!

We gotta round 'em up
and move 'em out!

[screaming]

-[bell rings]
-Incoming!

You're mine!

You barnyard slackers!

Yow!

[Rolly] Heads up, g*ng!

[woman] Like, out!
Like, get away!

Hit your foxholes!

Yikes!

Whoa! I ordered
a burrito poquito.

This is a burrito grande.

-He, he.
-Yow!

[mumbles]

[elevator bells]

[man] Attention,
Stiffle Mall shoppers.

The First Lady and First Dog
will be leaving in 10 minutes.

Last chance.
If you wish to see them,

proceed to the penthouse
level bookstore immediately.

Aha!

Why didn't those dumb maps

just say Filibuster
was on the Penthouse level?

Let's find an escalator.

No way, been there, done that.
Hate it.

Hey, look!

-Great idea! Let's go.
-[squawks]

[yipping]

-[elevator bell rings]
-I told you we could do it.

Filibuster will arrange
a pardon for us.

We might even get extra credit
for taking a field trip.

[bell dings]

[gasp]

Hello, cadets!

Looks like I'm taking you
to the Colonel.

[giggles]

Your Bark Brigade days are over!

[sigh]

Better get used to small spaces.

The four of you will be sharing
a stockade cell.

It's a court martial for all of you!

[laughs]

[hysterical laughter]

Oh, he's lost that thin tie
to reality again.

[snarls]

We have laws. You broke one, spy.

I'm no spy!

I'm a Bark Brigade commander

apprehending AWOL cadets.

Ask them. They'll tell ya.

[bell dings]

What cadets? Where?

Seeing things, mister?

They're gone! Bring 'em back!

They'll vouch for me. They'll...

[pfft!]

[snores]

[lullaby song plays]

He's not moving!

You didn't use
a chokehold, did you?

No way!

Well, we'd better
inform our pets.

Huh? Huh?

Huh?! Aaaah!

Hey, grab him!

-[alarm sounds]
-Dah!

Whoaaaa!

[siren whirs]

Attention, all units.

Be on the lookout for runt-sized,
loudmouth escapee spy!

When apprehended,
call for psycho unit.

[grunts]

Hmm. If I were three
diddle-head deserters

and a crumb-bum chicken,
what route would I take?

Hmm. Up the staircase,
turn 13 degrees,

south-southwest...

[mumbles]

[pant]

[pants]

Whoa! That was close.

[man] Attention, Stiffle Mall shoppers.

The First Lady and First Dog
will be departing

in the presidential helicopter
from the south parking lot.

Come on, we'll catch
Filibuster there.

If we couldn't
find the bookstore,

how can we find
the south parking lot?

Hmm. I think I know the problem.

This way on the map
is that way in the mall.

Okay, so, wait.

Then is up down and down up?

[sighs]

This is getting us nowhere.

Excuse me, but can you...
can you help me?

Okay... Thank you very much.

Hmm?

Excuse me. I'm sure
such an intelligent,

friendly looking
creature as yourself

can tell me the way
to the south parking lot, hmm?

No! It's worse than I thought.

Those AWOL cadets are fraternizing

with the feline enemy!

-[snarls]
-[gasps]

[Cadpig] Pug's back! Run!

[shout]

How does he keep finding us?

Maybe it helps
that he can read the map!

[snarl]

There's that petty waste pooch.

Pursue him!

Quick! Hide in here!

Don't tell me I lost 'em!

Daah! I told me
not to tell me that!

[train whistle blows]

Whoa!

Ohh!

Time to slam-dunk me
some AWOLers!

[train whistle blows]

Huh?

Whoa-oh!

[toys squeak]

[toy] Will you be my mommy?

That's it,
no more mister nice guy.

This calls
for a full-frontal as*ault.

Time to be all I can be!

Uh-oh!

[beeps]

-Whoa!
-Whoa!

b*mb's away!

[projectiles whistle]

Ohh! Ohh!

[Lucky] Success!

Uh, guys, those weren't bombs
you dropped,

those were your b-b-batteries!

Uh-oh! Yikes!

Now I got you in my sights.

Fire!

Whoa!

[Spot] All aboard!

-Wha...?
-[train whistle blows]

[strains]

[Pug chuckles]

Whoa! Hey, it's Pug!

[scream]

One lump or two?

I'll give you some lumps!

[pant]

How we gonna get outta this?

It's time to call in the cavalry.

Search and destroy,
search and destroy.

[toys] Meow! Meow! Meow!

It's the great cat invasion!

Meow! Meow! Meow!

Retreat! Retreat!

You won't get away this time, spy.

All right, now maybe
we can still find Filibuster.

[puppies yip]

[helicopter revs]

[Spot] Filibuster is headed home

and we didn't even
get to see him!

This whole day was a waste!

Yeah.

We spent it being lost.

Actually, that map-reading
class we missed

could have come in handy.

Well, at least
the Colonel didn't find out.

[Colonel clears throat]

Ahem!

Colonel! What are you doing here?

Well, I came to chat
with my old friend Filibuster.

But that's the question
I should be asking you.

Uh, could we answer
that tomorrow?

Lucky's just starting
to figure out our cover story.

No, don't bother.

I saw Lieutenant Pug
being dragged away.

[gulp] You did?

And I'm sure
you'll be overjoyed to hear

I've arranged his release.

He's already planning
your punishment.

Parade drills, push-ups,
hydrant cleaning.

Ohhh! Goodbye, happy face.

Hello, sad face.

And, of course,
I'm recommending to your parents

that you be grounded
for three weeks.

Any questions?

No, sir.

All right.
Now, I know you've missed lunch,

so, uh, meet me
in the pet shop food bar

in five minutes.

[Rolly] Wow, that's great!

Thanks, Colonel, but

how do we find it?

Ha! No problem, cadet.

Just read the map.
