This is what I'm going to win

the contest with tomorrow.

The challenge is to build

an underwater robot

that runs by itself.

The top prize is a scholarship

to the university.

- But as soon as I am

for a degree in science

at one of the best universities

in the world.

It's gonna be an amazing show.

Hello, Dolphin City!

Good afternoon,

ladies and gentlemen.

Welcome to the first

robotics contest

organized by the prestigious

University of Dolphin City.

[cheering]

Wow, it's crazy out here.

Prepare yourselves

to be amazed

by some absolutely incredible

machines.

The aqua robots

you are about to see

have all been invented

by the best and brightest

young residents of Dolphin City.

Now it's time

to introduce them to you.

[cheering]

Go for it, Cynthia. Show

everybody that girls rule!

[laughs]

[mayor] These robots

will be competing today

to determine who is the best

among these brilliant

young inventors.

The grand prize,

free admission

to Dolphin City's

world-famous university.

Give it up, Lewis.

I'm gonna win this.

That's what you think.

[mayor] It's time to get

your robots into the water.

The competition

will consist of two challenges.

The first will

determine dexterity.

In a zone covered by

our cameras,

the robots will have to pick up

as many red chips as possible

in the designated time.

The three robots that have

brought back the most chips

will then advance

to the final round,

which will be a speed race

over to that marker and back.

OK, everybody,

ready, start your robots!

OK, on my signal, go.

Let me remind you

that these robots

aren't being controlled

remotely,

but have been fully programmed

by their inventors

- and are on automatic pilot.

- Cynthia!

I never figured that

robots could be so popular.

[laughter]

seems awfully sure of himself.

building robots?

[laughs]

It appears that

one of the robots

is moving into the lead.

[laughs]

we've got ourselves

- a surprise guest here.

- Look, it's Teddy.

He's gonna be crushed.

We've got to get him out.

- I'm coming with you.

- I'm staying here.

I want to find out

what the deal is with Zane.

He's cheating.

The whole city will see us.

I guess that's what

they call genius.

I've always believed I was

but what really inspires me

is having an audience

like you guys.

for an amazing champion.

[mayor]

[mayor] Your robot's performance

so far has been exceptional.

Zane's cheating.

He's using an earpiece.

That's not fair.

He can't do that.

This is Lewis's big chance

to get into university

and Zane's going to steal it

by cheating.

[mayor] Your attention,

ladies and gentlemen.

The final round of

our great robot competition

is about to start.

And may the best contestant win!

[mayor] And now, the last

challenge of our contest.

Are you ready?

get set and go for it!

Come on, mini sub. Move!

Looks like your tin can

is having trouble keeping up,

genius.

Don't get your hopes up, loser.

The race isn't over yet.

What? Where's my robot?

[all gasp]

spoke to someone.

He must have an accomplice.

[mayor] What a turnaround.

It looks like Cynthia's robot

has just had some kind of

technical problem.

No way, this is cheating.

Call off the contest!

For once she's got it right.

We've seriously got to find

his accomplice.

And it looks like

Zane's robot is catching up.

But will it be able

to overtake Lewis's

and grab the lead?

[cheering]

[Emma] Do you see his laptop?

[Cleo] And look at

his briefcase.

It's Zane's father's company.

- That must be his accomplice.

- Exactly.

As if he'd be able to build

a robot on his own.

Quick, come on!

A laser ray?

What the heck is he up to?

That's how he destroyed

the other robot.

[gasps] What?

Oh, I've lost control!

[mayor] Unbelievable. What

an amazing turn of events.

Hey, Zane,

what happened, dude?

Thought you were supposed

to win.

And the winner of the Dolphin

City University competition

is Lewis!

[cheering]

[laughs]

Thank you, girls. Without you,

Zane would have won by cheating.

- By cheating?

- Yes.

Zane's robot

wasn't on autopilot.

Somebody in the crowd

was controlling it.

Only because

I didn't have time to finish it.

You or your dad's engineers?

You shouldn't have done that.

It's malfunctioning.

- It's dangerous.

- He's saying that

his robot will attack

anything that moves.

- Huh?

- Hmm?

[all gasp]

Zane, your robot has a weapon.

Weapons are

completely forbidden.

- You're disqualified.

- Like I care, I already lost.

[whistles]

What the heck is that? [yells]

Looks like that thing

is super dangerous.

Like I've been trying

to tell you.

My son! He's over there with his

class, a windsurfing lesson.

You've got to do something.

with the prize-giving ceremony

Now I've seen everything.

Zane accidentally

built a robot

that knows

how to make friends.

It's just too bad

that he can't manage it.

[al laugh]

[mayor] You deserve this prize,

Lewis.

You demonstrated today

that you have great potential

as a scientist.

When you're old enough,

Dolphin City University

will be waiting for you.

[people shout congratulations]

And don't forget,

for our second

annual competition.

Zane, if you start right now,

maybe you'll have your robot

finished for next year.

I mean, of course,

without cheating.
