who I am and to share my story.

[Ally] To prove it, these choreographers
must create mind-blowing dance routines…

the surviving choreographers

Tonight, eight world-class choreographers,

all amazing dancers in their own right
are about to throw it down.

They're each starting the competition
with seven dancers from the Dance 100,

and it'll get tougher,
because as the competition progresses,

they'll have to incorporate
more and more dancers until the finale.

That is when the final two
will choreograph with all 100 dancers.

But I must say,
securing the bag is not going to be easy.

And what's the grand prize?

Oh, no biggie, it's just $100,000.

I've been super fortunate
to work with a lot of artists.

Nicki Minaj, Cardi B, Kelly Rowland,
Dua Lipa and a lot more I think. [Laughs]

My mother was a dancer.

When I was three years old,
she was in this group

and they did shows all over Boston.

And that is when I was like,
"I want to do that."

Your first performance
is in a few days' time.

- So you'll need some music.
- Let's go, week one!

As this is your first performance,

your challenge is to show
the Dance 100 who you are.

Ooh, there's going to be
some booty shaking on this part.

[Ally] I want to see your personality
in this choreography.

I think my style is a mix of raw,
full-out energy from Boston,

but then take the training that I received
in New York and put it all together.

So it's a little bit more clean.

It has a little bit more musicality,
more dynamic,

but I'll still implement
my full-out movements.

A lot of hips and arm throws
and things like that.

So ready to get started.

This song has so many vibes.

I have concern
with the beginning being a little slow.

Okay, cool. I have a great idea.

I have two dancers
that have technical training,

so I'll have them do a little moment
to have a juxtaposition

between really slow, and then boom!

This is a great way
to introduce me to the world.

I just want to warn you guys
ahead of time,

throughout this process, I'll complain
about having to dance in this.

[laughing] It hurts my life.

I'm not used to being the choreographer
and the dancer at the same time.

So you should be coming here.

He was excited,
but I could tell he was stressed.

I'm worried
because there is a lot going on in this,

so, honestly, on the inside,
I'm really overwhelmed.

I'm freaking out. I want to cry,
but there's no time for that.

Being here in this competition
means everything to me.

I feel like it's a chance
to show people Keenan,

and not just the artist,
but Keenan the person.

Being able to share my art with people

is something that I always want to do
because it's what I've worked hard for.

I think I'm nervous because I care.

I care. I just gotta do what I gotta do.

My dancers will step through soon.

trying to achieve with this performance?

The song starts off
really slow, really lovey,

and I wanted people to think they'll get
this contemporary moment. Then… Bam!

We knock 'em in the head
with some hard-hitting staging,

choreography, formations,

a little bit of sex back there,
all of that.

So I just wanted to really
tell a story and create a vibe.

[Ally] You rocked.

Now keep in mind, only some
of the Dance 100 are performing tonight,

but all of them will be
judging our choreographers.

Emily, where you at?

- Whoo!

What did you
observe in this performance?

That was fire. That was so good.

All of you are so strong,
everybody is just there.

The only thing I'd want more is,
Keenan, feature yourself even more

'cause you're a beast.

…but at the same time,
it was really important

to showcase these seven
because they worked so hard.

Okay, from the very beginning
I was invested.

It was so beautiful.

And then y'all came out and I was like,

"Oh, my God, get me on stage,
I want to be in this routine."

And also for me, it was so clean
and it was so visually appealing to watch.

Rúnar, what's your perspective?

I really loved it.

I feel like you could
have used the stage a little bit more.

You've got a lot of dancers
and could have moved a bit more.

But I loved that you used
the different types of styles.

That was the one for me.

[Ally] The crowd seems to love it.

We got mixed reviews
from the professional dancers,

but what we can say
is y'all throw it down.

Oh, my gosh. Musicality, storytelling.

My initial reaction
when I heard the song in the earphones,

I was, "Yes, all right. Oh, sh*t."

Like, it's just a lot.

Right now, in my brain, it's everywhere.

So once we get in the studio,
we'll see what happens.

I'm actually really excited
to meet my dancers.

A little bit nervous because I'm like,

"Who are they,
what will they be able to do?"

"Are we going to match?
Are we going to vibe?"

This process was great. I enjoyed working
with Rudy and my fellow, sexy cast mates.

We give a lot of energy.

My only critique is that
there's so much energy

that we're missing details
and special moments on stage.

We lack the connection
to the audience and each other.

So, Rudy, the next time you get a chance,

let's give them everything

I feel like I could have appreciated

Joseph, what was your opinion
on the performance?

I don't know what they're talking about.

Being a fellow, Miami-ian himself,
you definitely brought the Miami heat.

I'm out of breath for you,

but trust, you guys made it look so easy.

It was pretty clean and, I won't lie,
it was an amazing performance.

at the beginning it was slow to pick up.

You took me on one.

I was on a roller coaster.

so maybe branch out next time.

A lot of people are surprised
when they see me dance

because I look like I would probably
help you at an IT situation,

or like at the Genius Bar
or maybe like a math tutor.

I like to subvert expectation.

Growing up was really hard
because I've always had long hair.

I never had a strong,
masculine appearance.

I was always nerdy. Always an outsider.

I was always a weirdo,

but then I learned to reclaim those things
and love those aspects about myself.

I've done no choreography jobs,

so I feel like this could
potentially change my life.

Ultimately, I'd love to show
the other "freaks" and "weirdos"

that you don't need to conform to fit in.

[squeals] I'm getting nervous.

What if they don't like me?

I definitely am inexperienced.

I'm already feeling overwhelmed.

The lack of experience is very telling
because it seems very… messy?

This is a bit out of my depth.

and I got no floaties.

I would say stand on the line.

And that's the inexperience from a person

who doesn't know
how to properly run a rehearsal.

about body language.

I like to do a little.

to an overly feminine
and overly sexualized role.

I'm here to break certain standards
that I no longer want to conform to

and express my true colors.

When you look at the piece,
I want you to see fluidity.

You don't see men or women,
you just see fluidity

across the board with the movement.

That's a challenge.

They gave me a song that's very versatile.

It's very euphoric.

Okay? So I'm going to need a lot of face.

A lot of like,
less-is-more type vibe. Okay?

I'm gonna need to bring
that euphoria out of you guys.

I'm coming in with this performance
with something risky.

So that would be the starting position.

Because I'm incorporating some elements
of my contemporary background

and I know I've got hip-hop dancers,
I've got street dancers.

So it's definitely gonna be a risk
to have everybody within that style.

We're bringing you
into a very liquid world.

I like to think of it
as we're all unique and different,

so we're all droplets of water,
but when we come together,

we create a whole body of water together.

When you came out, Celine, I was like,

And the way you presented yourself

and allowed each of your dancers

that right there was just amazing
to see everyone individually shine.

more cohesive
with the intention of the movement.

Like some people were popping here
and some were swinging there.

Or someone would change their focus

at the age of eight.

I started dancing

Growing up, dancers didn't look like me.

I was a chubby girl.

I didn't look like
the average dancer body type.

I wasn't accepted,

but it didn't deter me.

I just knew I had to
just work a little bit harder.

But my goal
is to definitely change that narrative

and show the world
that no matter what you look like,

you are enough.

What is the inspiration behind starting
the dance off with a bit of a story?

I went through a real toxic relationship
and it left me broken.

So what do we do as creators?

We take pain
and we turn it into our passion.

So in the beginning, you saw my anger,

and then you saw me
giving this man this love

that he never really wanted
and left me broken.

But through all of that,

I became a woman who knew her worth.

- Who found her worth.

And I want to say this to each
and every young sister out there,

no matter where you are,
how old you are, know your worth.

It started off with such a strong story

and I saw the connection
between the couples.

And as it progressed, I feel like I lost
the connection between the couples

and I saw the growth of you,

but I think I wanted to see more of that

through the piece
with the dancers as well.

really proud of yourself.

That was so good.

I really appreciated
the cleanliness in the beginning,

but for me, it kind of
lost momentum for me towards the end.
