Alex and I did a fundraiser a year ago
for Afghan refugees.

Alex is a really good friend of mine.

I've known him for a couple of years.

And last year,
we threw our first charity event together,

and we raised thousands of dollars
for Afghan refugees.

And this year we want to raise
at least a hundred thousand dollars,

and I think we can achieve it.

So we wanna do a fundraising gala
in honor of our mother,

who is an Afghan refugee who came
to the United States in the early '80s

when the Russians invaded.

This year,
our second annual charity fundraiser,

we are looking
and scouting at an art gallery.

And with my mom wanting
to go to Pakistan to visit her family,

we're having to change our timeline

so that Mom can attend
and be our guest of honor.

One thing we'd like to highlight
with refugees is education,

um, mainly because my mom
never got the chance to be educated,

and so she made sure
that all of us were educated.

We're gonna get all the sisters involved.

So it's not...
It's not just... It's not just us.

It takes literally a village
to make this happen,

especially at the level
that we want to do it.

I'm excited to have Siddiqa
working alongside me for the charity gala.

Although she seems a bit distracted today,

I just want her
to be able to pull through and deliver.

we all felt it.

and then not taking care of his body,

And I feel like that's a gift

Immigrant family, first generation,

how we took the opportunity and freedom

that education
of this country provided us

to allow us
to pay these blessings forward.

For last year's charity gala,

I did all the work
and my sisters weren't involved.

This year, I would love nothing more

than to have
all the girls involved in this project.

it would make my mother so proud
to see her daughters working together,

and helping other Afghan women
across the globe.
