02x14 - See You Again!

Post by bunniefuu »

[thwack]

[whoosh]

[man] He's a bit weak from loss of blood,
but otherwise, his condition's quite good.

His pulse and breathing are steady.

[Aria] Could there be
any aftereffects, doctor?

Oh, that's not likely.
He's young and physically fit.

He should be up
and fully recovered within a week.

Don't you worry.

[sighs]

What a relief.

I'm so glad to hear that.

EPISODE 26: SEE YOU AGAIN!

[Jason] And now to announce
the top finishers in the 11th Camelot Cup,

individual competition.

- [upbeat music playing]
- At six under par, Kai Todoin.

At eight under,

Liebel Ringvald and Quester Phoenix.

At ten under,

Guangling Li.

At 11 under,

Bilford Cooper.

At 13 under, Wanglian Li.

At 14 under, and the winner,

Tristan Liones.

Note, there's no score
for Gawain Nanaumi or Percival Lawrence.

They withdrew from the competition
before it was over.

And now, it is my honor

to present this club to the top player
in all of Camelot Academy.

Enjoy it! You've earned it.

[students gasp]

[Wanglian] That's one
of the Ring of Twelve clubs.

How much do you think
one of those is worth?

[Albright] What's the matter
with you, Tristan?

Take it. It's yours.

[music fades out]

[Tristan] Thank you, sir.

- But...
- [Albright] Huh?

...it really isn't me
who should be accepting this.

I never would have believed

I'd hear those words
coming out of his mouth.

[Tristan] If there had been
one more hole to play, I would have lost.

But there wasn't another hole.

You finished in first,
so you're fully deserving of this prize.

Every player did their best,
and you were the one who came out on top.

This club is proof of that, so take it.

[applause fades]

Golfers,

now that the formalities are over,
let the festivities begin!

We've prepared this small buffet for you,
to help you recover your strength.

- So dig in!
- [Yumiko] Woo-hoo!

[students chattering]

Merlin's quite right.

You deserve that club.

We all know
that you won it fair and square.

But we'll have to play again sometime,
so you can see what it's like to lose.

Hey! Lancelot!
Come here and try some of this!

Right.

Later.

[students chattering]

[Tristan] Even more satisfying
than the win

was the chance
to compete against players like you.

- [munching]
- Where were you animals brought up?

In a barn?

- [Yumiko giggling]
- [Kate] Hmm?

[sighs]

[grunts] Hey, aren't you gonna eat?

- It's really tasty.
- [Kate] Nah, I'm good.

- Hi, everyone!
- [both] Huh?

Liebel! How's little squirt? Is he okay?

Gawain's gonna be just fine.

Ms. Aria says

he should be out of the hospital
and as good as new in a week.

- That's wonderful!
- [Charles] Yay, Gawain!

[Sfida] To winning it next year.

[Ice] Here's looking at you, kid.

- [laughs] I've always wanted to say that.
- [chuckles]

- You played a good match.
- Thanks.

Even though you still beat me,
just like you did last year.

You were just too good for me again.

Well, we're both graduating,

so... we'll have to meet again
on the professional circuit.

Yeah, and when we do,
I'll beat ya, and badly.

You and every other player.

[jaunty music playing]

You were great yesterday, Quester.

The way you jumped right in
and carried Gawain to the ambulance.

It was nothing. Anyone would've done it.

I'm just glad he's gonna be okay.

Yeah, you say anyone would've done it,
but I was practically frozen in panic.

You were, but we ended up tied, didn't we?

- We'll have to settle it next time.
- [Liebel] Yeah.

I wouldn't get your hopes up.

- [grunts]
- Yesterday was a fluke.

When he's on his game,
he'll kick your a*s to the freakin' moon.

[chuckles]

[Quester] Bridget, stop.
It's golf, not kickboxing.

[laughs] Yeah, I know that.
It was just a joke.

- [Quester chuckles]
- [music fades out]

Oh, I see.

Maybe Dad's joking too.

Maybe I'm just imagining it,
and it's all just...

just a bad joke.

[tense music plays]

[Tim] Really? Are you sure?

[Jason] Indeed.

An ambulance was already on its way

Then who was it that called?

It wasn't a student.

And when I think
of who else could've called that quickly,

it can only have been him.

You know to whom I refer.

Yes, Arthur Phoenix.

What the devil is he up to?

- I'm worried.
- [music fades out]

[Gawain farts]

[Percival retches]

Whoa! Somebody just let one,
a really stinky one!

Smells like rotten eggs!

- Who's been eating rotten eggs?
- [gasps]

[Gawain gasps]

[laughs]

Sorry. Was that me? Sure smells like mine.

[Percival breathes shakily]

Oh, Gawain, you're awake!

You're awake and back to being
your normal weird self!

Whoa. What's gotten into you?

[Percival] I was so worried
you wouldn't come back as the old you.

That's if you even came back at all!

What the heck are you talkin' about?

And where are we?

And wherever this is,
why am I lying in bed here?

You really don't remember?

None of it?

- [Arthur] Hello.
- Oh.

[Gawain] You're Quester's dad.

It's okay for you to be sitting up?

Oh, uh... I don't know why not.

But then, I don't know
where I am or how I got here,

so I'm not the best person to ask.

You're here because this is
the closest hospital to Camelot Academy.

Okay.

You injured your head,
lost a lot of blood,

and then you passed out.

That explains
the tingling feeling up here.

Oh! Oh, that's right!
Your golf ball hit me in the forehead.

I'm so sorry about that. I feel so guilty.

[laughs]

Oh, don't worry about it!
I'm fine. See? See?

- Hard as a rock!
- Stop doing that!

- Please stop doing that!
- But if I passed out, then...

[shouts]...what happened
in the competition?

It was the 11th hole
where I got hurt, right?

So then... Wait.

It's all fuzzy.

My brain's all jumbled up.

[glumly] Does that mean
I didn't finish playing the back nine?

Mm-hmm. You and me, we, uh...
we withdrew from the match.

Wait. Why'd you withdraw?

It wasn't fair for me to keep on playing,

after I'd done
such a terrible thing to you.

Ruining your chance
to win the Camelot Cup,

after you'd come all the way from Japan.

Hey, that's okay. Don't sweat it.
There will always be next year, right?

Anyway, I'm just sorry
you had to get stuck with me.

Playing with me and my bloody head
couldn't have been fun for you.

[Percival sobs]

- Gah!
- [crying]

Come on. Don't cry.

It wasn't that bad
being stuck with me, was it?

I didn't mean to upset you. Sorry.

[Arthur] He looks so much like her.

[dreamy somber music plays]

[music fades out]

Hey, no offense or anything,
Quester's dad,

but why have you come to visit me anyway?

I was the one who called
for the ambulance when you collapsed,

so, of course,
I wanted to see how you were doing.

But most of all,
I wanted us to have a little chat.

Really? With me?

Sorry, but if it wouldn't be
too much to ask,

would you mind
leaving us alone for a moment?

Oh. Uh... all right.

I guess I'll just go find
a bunch of snacks or something then.

Okay.

Thank you
for calling the ambulance for me.

Appreciate it.

So you were watching the competition?

Yes. I saw you
hitting those drives of yours.

You have an incredible gift, young man.

A gift, yeah.

Quester was telling me about it.

But if I do have some kinda special gift,
where the heck did it come from?

[Arthur] Don't worry.
We'll cover that later.

I'll be able to explain
a lot of things to you,

if you'll join my team.

Huh?

You heard me.

I came here to recruit you, Gawain.

[knocking gently]

[Percival] Oh.
What happened to Quester's father?

He left. You just missed him.

[drink cans clunk]

Hey! Hey!

So who won the individual competition?

It was either Tristan or Lancelot, right?

Tristan was 14 under par,
so he came in first.

He did, huh?

Makes sense, I guess.
Fourteen under par is pretty unbelievable.

Your friend Lancelot was four under par,

so I don't think he even ended up
among the top finishers, I'm afraid.

Wha-ah-ah-ah...?

[Kurumi] My beloved...

[Gawain] I wouldn't wanna be
around Kurumi when she finds out.

Well, anyway,
if even Lancelot had a rough time,

it just shows you
how hard it is to play golf.

Yeah, but even so, Gawain,

if you had just sunk that last putt,
you would've finished 13 under par

and tied with that Wanglian guy
for second place.

Wanglian? He came in second?

Wonder what kind of special moves he used.

[Wanglian] Ha!

[Gawain] Wait.

[in cute voice] What was that again?
What did you say about me and my putt?

You mean just now?

I said you probably could have been
tied for second place

if you hadn't withdrawn.

[laughs]

Oh, now you're just being silly.

How could that be
when I was two over par by the tenth hole?

You really don't remember, do you?

After your accident,

you lowered your score
by 13 strokes in seven holes.

[gasps]

I did?

[dreamy whirring]

[gasps]

Gawain?

- [screams]
- [Percival shrieks]

[grunts] What was that?

- [gasps]
- [Gawain grunts]

Percival, is there a practice range
around here?

Practice range?
Yeah, I know of one that's nearby, but...

All right, then! Let's get cracking!

I can't mope around here,
just lying in bed all dang day!

[Percival] Hmm?

[screams]

[Aria] Yes, Gawain's already much better.

You can tell the others
there's no need to worry.

[Yumiko] Oh, that's great!

And we're all gonna stay in the UK
till he's fully recovered, right?

So we can, like, go shopping and stuff?

Afraid not.

All of you are flying
back to Japan tomorrow.

- [Yumiko] Huh? But...
- Don't worry.

I'll be staying right here with Gawain
till he's back on his feet again.

- You kids have a safe trip back home now.
- [Yumiko] But, Ms. Aria, I don't wanna...

[Aria] You must be tired, Percival.

Why don't you take a break
and let me watch Gawain for a whi...

[suspenseful music plays]

Hmm? [gasps]

[exhales]

[music fades out]

[Percival panting]

It's all still a little bit fuzzy,
but I remember. [chuckles]

- About the match, you mean?
- Mm-hmm.

That was me there.

May not have looked or acted like me,
but that was me.

So I've gotta get to a practice range
while my body still remembers

what it felt like...
hitting the ball like that.

You really are a very strange person.
Do you know that?

Oh well. Okay. If you really want one,
there's one right in front of my house.

[animatedly] What?

In front of your house?

I left Ms. Aria a note,
back at the hospital,

telling her that's where we'd be.

We'll stop at my house
to change your clothes.

Thanks, Percival! You're the best!

[panting]

- [uplifting music plays]
- Now I remember.

Yeah, I remember what it was like
competing against you two guys.

Let's have another game real soon, okay?

[music drowns out background]

[music fades out]

[man, over PA] Attention.

Flight 818 to Burbank
will now be departing from gate 31A.

Well, it's goodbye until next time.

I've let your school know that Ms. Aria
will be staying here with Gawain.

- It's been good to see you Todoin.
- Yes, sir.

- Take care.
- So long.

[Charles] Goodbye, Gawain.
I'll never forget you.

- [Quester] Hmm?
- Oh.

[chuckles]

[chuckles]

It's weird.

Not one of those Brits
showed up to see us off

or even bothered to say goodbye to us.

That's just rude.

Don't take it personally.

I heard that the British school
takes their summer break

right after the Camelot Cup.

[Yumiko] Mm?

Is something wrong?

Oh, I haven't seen Wanglian
or Platalissa in a while.

Hope they don't miss the flight.

[girl giggling]

[Platalissa] She's not going to come.

- [poignant music plays]
- [sighs shakily]

[whimpers softly]

[Sfida grunts, pants]

[gasps]

Oh... you did come.

[breathing heavily]

Relax. We'll make it there
in time for their flight.

What'll I do?

Because I was jealous of her,
I kept pushing her away.

What can I ever say
to make her see how sorry I am?

The answer to that is so simple
that it's staring you in the face.

- But you're too damn stubborn to see it.
- [Sfida] What?

Your little sister, she loves you so much
that you don't have to say anything.

Not a word. Just...

You know that I...
I'm not great with emotions.

So I don't even know
what words to use to apologize.

But still... I know that...

that I love you, Sfida, and... [gasps]

[murmurs]

[Sfida] You didn't do anything
you need to apologize for.

But I...

Just smile at her, Sfida.
It's all you need to do.

I don't deserve to be your big sister.

[whimpers softly]

[voice breaking] Sfida... Sis...

[sobbing, chuckling]

I am so sorry.

[sobs softly]

- [gasps]
- [Sfida] Mm-mm. [chuckles]

[chuckles]

[breath trembles]

[poignant music fades out]

You were right, Ice. Thank you.

[Ice] Why do you guys
keep calling it a motorbike?

This is an electric bicycle.
Don't you know the difference?

[Quester] Where's Bridget?
Didn't she board the plane yet?

Gah! Hey, Quester,
you gotta look outta your window, dude!

Huh? [grunts]

[tense music plays]

It's Dad,

with that guy from the Japanese school
and that girl from the British school.

What's going on?

[engines whir]

[whir increasing]

[Quester grunts]

Why?

Bridget, why?

[music fades out]

[Gawain] Boy, this has been great.
Thanks for your hospitality.

You can come back any time.

Yeah? You sure?

Any time at all.

You're always welcome at our house,

and you have the makings
of great son-in-law material.

Dad, don't even joke about that!
It's embarrassing!

- [dad laughs]
- Well, anyway, let's do it again.

And the next time,
you can come to my house, okay?

[Percival] Okay.

I came across this on the desk, Aria.

- [Gawain] Ms. Aria.
- [Aria gasps]

[footsteps approach]

Gawain, how is your injury doing?

It doesn't hurt a bit.

Thank you for looking after him, Percival.

Guess it's goodbye for now then.

Goodbye, Gawain.

I'll see you next year at the Camelot Cup.

[gasps] Gawain.

- Yeah? Hmm?
- [Percival] Huh?

[intriguing electronic music plays]

- Tristan?
- [Gawain] Tristan!

Well, this is a big old surprise.
I never expected you to come see me off.

[Tristan] I can't believe it.

- Take it.
- What do you mean?

You're giving it to me?

No. He wouldn't.

Whoa. What's this?

It looks like some fancy-pants,
old-fashioned iron.

Wait a sec. Isn't that
one of the Ring of Twelve clubs?

- [Tristan] Yes.
- [gasps] One of the what?

Oh, wow!

It's one of the legendary magical weapons!

Please don't say anything. Just take it.

Huh? Don't say anything?

Wait. You're really giving it to me?

- [Tristan] Yes.
- But why would you do that?

My victory was due to sheer luck.

I've never wanted
to win so badly in my life.

I was forced to take a foolish gamble,
one that just happened to pay off.

That's the only reason I won.

[groans] I'm giving it back.

Take it. Go on, take it.
I don't even want it.

Who cares how you won it, Tristan?
You beat me fair and square.

And doing that took a lot more than luck.

[rousing rock music playing]

You sure you won't take it?

[Gawain] Yeah, I'm sure.
I'm not that into irons.

But if it had been a driver,
I woulda taken it in a flash.

You're not the most friendly person
in the world, but you know what?

You're a better guy than I thought.

- Say goodbye. It's time to go now.
- Huh?

Right.

Tristan... Percival... bye-bye now.

See you next year.

[music continues]

[music crescendoes]

[music fades out]

NOTIFICATION OF WITHDRAWAL FROM SCHOOL

WANGLIAN LI

[Gawain] Whoa...

So long, England.

I'm gonna come back
even stronger next time.

[uplifting music plays]

[Arthur] I came here today
to recruit you, Gawain.

Will you join me and help me
build a new world for junior golfers?

One where any young person with talent

can make their dreams come true
through golf.

A kingdom.

A... a kingdom?

[Arthur] The greatest of all.

We will compete
against any junior golfers anywhere

and defeat them,

including those from Camelot Academy.

We will reign supreme.

I've been looking for gifted players
who can help me make this happen,

and you are one of them.

What do you say?

I'm sure you'd like to compete
against the top players in the world,

wouldn't you?

[Gawain] Hmm...

Hmm...

[humming contemplatively]

Mm...

I've decided.

I'm going to say no.

[Arthur gasps] Why?

Competing against the top players
in the world does sound exciting.

But not yet.

I've still gotta get past Lancelot
and Tristan from Camelot Academy first.

Once I'm good enough to beat them,

you should come back and ask me again,
and I'll definitely consider it.

Very well.

Oh, I'm so pumped!

I can't wait to get back!

[music fades out]

- [theme music plays]
- [lyrics in Japanese]

[music drowns out background]

[Lancelot] I discovered my weaknesses
at the Camelot Cup.

I thought my game was good...
but now I know,

it has to be better.

[Gawain] I don't wanna lose again.

Not to Lancelot... or Tristan,

or even to that other version of me.

- I've got to improve!
- [clang]

I've got to get better!

[Lancelot] And better.

- [Gawain] And better!
- [Lancelot] And better!

- [Gawain] And better!
- [clang]

[crackle]

Until one day, I become...
the longest hitter in the world!
