I'm Chris Rose,
but the gentle giant of the UFC,
Kenny Florian.
- That's a first, never been
called the giant before,
but speaking of giants,
look at the huge fight card for
tonight.
It's filled with giant-K*llers.
CHRIS: We gotta start
with tonight's main event,
returning Champion
Tombstone facing Gigabyte.
Tombstone is coming off a
huge win against Minotaur.
He reminded everyone
why he is still the boss
and will only be satisfied with
back-to-back Championships.
His opponent?
You met him at the top of the
show,
a team with a legendary
pedigree.
Brent Rieker and Gigabyte.
Can they take down the king once
again?
We'll find out, later tonight.
And look at the rest of this
fight card.
We've got a battle of old blood
versus new
with Lock-Jaw and End Game.
hailing from New Zealand,
completely dominated Captain
Shrederator
in his BattleBots debut.
Tonight, he'll get the chance to
prove
whether or not he's truly a
contender.
But, he has an uphill
battle against Lock-Jaw
and winner of six giant
nuts, Donald Hutson.
And also, we got two teams who
are
kicking off their season
tonight.
Lucky, whose 11,000 pounds of
force
is enough to flip a washing
machine,
will square up against
the diamond-tipped blade
of Skorpios, a rescue
saw used by firefighters
to carve up vehicles and
buildings.
And you know what I'm really
excited for?
The BattleBots debut of
Battle Royale With Cheese.
Hide your arteries, Kenny,
'cause nine out of ten doctors

k*ller,
spinning slab of bacon.
He's gonna be fending off a
nasty,
spring-loaded burger-flipper in
Tantrum.
- I can't wait to see that.

But, to start things off,
we've got a great one for you.
Red Devil versus Monsoon.
- Ravi Baboolal is one and O
with an impressive victory this
season.
He went toe-to-toe with Brutus
in grueling shoving match,
proving Red Devil has
some serious endurance
on the way to earning a
knockout.
KENNY: This should be
interesting
against newcomer Tom Brewster
coming
from the U.K. in his
BattleBots debut with Monsoon.
It's a vertical bar-spinner
with a frightening top speed of
That weapon is mounted on a
pivot,
allowing it to operate
effectively
even if the robot is flipped.
Will this untested design
deliver inside the box?

- Ladies and gentlemen,
are you ready?
It's robot fightin' time.

In the red square,
this devil went down to Georgia,
he was lookin' for some parts to
steal.
He's not in a bind, he's
got an axe to grind,
and he's gonna make you squeal.
It's Red Devil.
[crowd cheering]
CHRIS: You can see
some of the battle scars
already on Red Devil.
Disposed of Brutus earlier
in the competition.
Lookin' to improve to two and O.
- In the blue square,
this high-pressure fighter
is gonna make it rain.
The forecast rowdy with
a 100% chance of pain.
Seek shelter, it's Monsoon.
- The strategy has got to be;
avoid contact until we
can serve up the weapon
and then just go in for a
great big hit really, yeah.
We want to get this down
within two minutes, really,
before the k*ll saws come up,
right?
We're hoping it can do the job.
- Today, we're running Red Devil
with a plow configuration.
with a heavily armored front
end.
The strategy is to,
realistically,
out-drive 'em and try to get to
the left
or the right of their weapon,
where we can get the saw
down into their innards
and let it do some damage.
[crowd cheering]
ROBOT: Robots, activate.

CHRIS: Oh, look, oh, oh.
Uh oh.
Monsoon crossin' that
center-line
and gettin' all up in
the Red Devil's face.
KENNY: Yeah, interesting,
Chris.
Team Monsoon, the newcomers
are the ones trying
to intimidate team Red Devil.
ROBOT: Red Team, ready?

CHRIS: Let the bot battle
begin.
Here comes Red Devil on the
attack.

he got flipped after
taking one in the schnoz.

Oh, holy smokes.
KENNY: There goes
the blade of Red Devil.
- Keep going.
CHRIS: What a perfect
start for Monsoon.
[crashing]
Red Devil has no primary weapon,
Kenny.
He's just a plow, now.
[crashing]
Whoa.
[crowd yelling]
- Oh my god.
CHRIS: Monsoon is a beast.
KENNY: Oh, wow.
CHRIS: They're in battle
right in front of us.
KENNY: Get away from us.
- No, no, I'll be tougher than
you Kenny.
Bring it on Monsoon, bring it
on.
This is a suicide mission
for Red Devil, now.
[crashing]
[crowd yelling]
KENNY: Oh, huge hit right
there.
[crashing]
[crowd yelling]
- [Kenny and Chris] Oh.
CHRIS: Monsoon's smokin' a
little bit.
- Yeah, hold it, hold it, hold
it.
CHRIS: Kenny, I
think Red Devil may have
just broken Monsoon's spinner.
He may have just evened
the playing field, here.
[crowd yelling]
KENNY: If Monsoon's weapon is
down,
that would be a huge swing in
the action
after getting badly beat
up in that first minute,
Red Devil can't go on the
offensive, now,
and try to control this pushing
match.
There is still enough time for
them
to claw their way back into this
fight.
[crowd yelling]
Now, Monsoon trying to bully Red
Devil
up against the screws.
[metal clattering]
Nice hit there from Monsoon.

CHRIS: Look at the
strength of Red Devil.
You want to push me around?
Well, push on this, mister.
KENNY: I tell you what,
Red Devil looks way different
than when this fight started.
[crashing]

CHRIS: Back and forth it
goes.

Now, remember, Ravi of Red Devil
won
his opening match against Brutus
in a very similar fashion.
With both weapons gone,
the judges are gonna be
looking for control now
the rest of the match.
[crowd cheering]
KENNY: Monsoon, he thought
he had this in the bag,
but Red Devil, he's tougher than
most.
CHRIS: Now, the
k*ll-saws will be activated.
We'll see if those do
any damage to the bots.
[crowd cheering]
KENNY: Monsoon in a shoving
match here.
You see that chassis raising up.
It's preventing Red Devil
from getting on top.
CHRIS: It's a real
stalemate at this point.
Red Devil has 30 seconds to try
and get Monsoon into the screws
or have something happen to that
bot .
KENNY: That's a lot of power
goin'
at it right there, Chris.
[crashing]
It's a sumo match, right now.
Well, Monsoon is getting
an angle right there.
He's getting those forks
underneath Red Devil.
It's been these forks against
the plow.
[metal clattering]
CHRIS: Closing in on ten
seconds to go.

[crowd yelling]
Oh, the k*ll-saws get
a piece of Red Devil,
but it's not gonna matter.
Time is running out.
An unexpected stalemate after
those huge opening exchanges.
[buzzing]
[dramatic techno music]
What a way to open the
night here at BattleBots.
Tom Brewster and his crew
celebrating
even though this one
is goin' to the judges.
And there they are.
Former BattleBots bad boy, Derek
Young.
Gaming and industry icon, Naomi
Kyle.
And, Frank Ippolito, special
effects guru.
Kenny, it did not take long
for Monsoon to establish itself.
KENNY: No, these guys
wanted to throw down--
- Whoo.
- From the first second
of the fight, oh man.
Monsoon with that deadly
force-spinner.
My goodness, took the saw
right off of Red Devil,
probably ten, 15 seconds into
this match.
CHRIS: At that point Red
Devil pretty much became
a miniature snowplow.
KENNY: He did, but he used
that body to full effect,
taking out Monsoon's weapon
and wrestling him to the very
end.
It was an impressive comeback,
but was it enough to
take the all important W?
CHRIS: Let's go down to
Faruq.
[crowd cheering]
- The judges' results are in.
We have a split decision.
[crowd yelling]
Judge Frank scored the battle
for Monsoon.
[crowd cheering]
Judge Derek scored the
battle for Red Devil.
[crowd cheering]
Judge Naomi scored the
battle for the winner,
Monsoon.
[crowd yelling]
[dramatic techno music]
CHRIS: So, Monsoon
starts in the win column
and, Kenny, they'll be looking
to rise
up the rankings to earn a spot
in the 2018 World Championship.
KENNY: Yeah, and the
way Tom Brewster came
out here tonight at 23
years-old,
in his BattleBots debut,
unbelievable.
- Pretty darn impressive.
And don't forget, later tonight,
our main event,
Tombstone versus Gigabyte.
The action continues.
The next two combatants are
gettin' ready.
That's Lucky up against Skorpios
and these are two very different
bots
with two very different weapons.
Mark Demers is coming from the
great,
white north with Lucky.
Now, Lucky is powerful pneumatic
flipper
with five tons of force.
It's able to flip 40 times
the weight of itself.
If you look at those front two
wedges,
they're designed to help
and get underneath opponents
for optimal flipping power.
Let's talk about his opponent,
Orion Beach and Skorpios.
This is a vertical saw platform
and that blade is no joke.
The teeth contain diamond
crystals able to saw
through the hardest materials on
Earth.
So, if this bot scoops you up,
you're in serious trouble.
Kenny, what are the keys to this
fight?
KENNY: Well, for Skorpios,
he's gonna rack up points
by pinning his opponent
and using that rescue blade
to saw through anything and
everything.
Those exposed wheels leave
it defenseless on its sides.
He's gonna have to stay
squared up to Lucky.
Ideally, that flipper
on Lucky is gonna get
under Skorpios and flip
him out of the arena.
It's well-armored and
built to take damage,
but because that weapon is
gas-powered,
he only has 20 flips at his
disposal.
- Let's check it out inside the
box.
[dramatic techno music]
- In the red square,
hailing from Canada, eh?
This bot's gonna make you pay...
in Canadian dollars.
It is Lucky.
CHRIS: Mark Demers had
to take a ten-year hiatus
in bot-building because his wife
said
he was spending too much time
with robots
and not enough time with his
family.
And now that he's back,
he's got something he
can share with his kids.
- In the blue square,
Des-bot-cito,
it will blow you to smitherine-o
and make you feel completely
defeat-o,
it's Skorpios.
CHRIS: Orion Beach here with
a new
and improved Skorpios and hand
gestures.
He struggled in the past,
but tells us he made
his bot sturdier and more
reliable
and if that saw is
getting up to full speed,
it's gonna be doin' some major
damage.
- We're aiming for anything
good, so,
wheels, pneumatics,
electronics, anything up on top.
We're probably gonna try to
stay away from the flipper,
unless it gets stuck,
then we might take a whack at
that thing.
- We know that they can
go through our armor,
so we're putting most of
our heavy armor on top,
We're hoping we can move around
so that not in the same spot all
the time.
I think if we keep
moving, it will take them
a while to get through, so
that's
what we're working through
as far as strategy right now.
[crowd cheering]
ROBOT: Robots, activate.
CHRIS: There's Lucky, which
actually has the signature
of his two kids on his
bot, Gillian and Rex.
[dramatic techno music]
[crowd chanting]
[buzzing]
Let the bot battle begin.
Lucky trying to get to the
back of Skorpios, unsuccessful.
KENNY: Here's the quick
trigger
of the flipper from Lucky.
Skorpios very low to the ground,
but he needs to be
careful of that flipper.
[crashing]
[crowd yelling]
CHRIS: Up, there's Lucky,
getting
those wedges underneath
Skorpios.
Watch out for that flipper.
Oh, oh.
[crowd yelling]
KENNY: Nice flip by Lucky.
CHRIS: Skorpios slammed to
the floor,
but straight back up, what
balance.
KENNY: Feeling each other out
here,
you see Skorpios trying
to get around to the--
[metal scraping]
side. Whoa.
There's some sparks.
Now, Skorpios has Lucky pinned,
Chris.
This is exactly what he wants.
CHRIS: Down goes the saw.
[crashing]
Oh, nice hit from the
pulverizer.
The pulverizer dropping down,
hitting Lucky once,
[crashing]
twice,
[crashing]
three times.
[crashing]
Is there more?
[crashing]
There is.
One more, you win a stuffed
animal.
[crashing]
[metal scraping]
- Ooh.
- Ahh.
Lucky like a trapped rat, Kenny.
[metal scraping]
Skorpios chops him up
and goes to work.
[metal scraping]
KENNY: What a perfect
scenario for Skorpios here.
[metal scraping]
He's allowing the battle box
to do his dirty work as
he cuts through Lucky.
- Yeah, ready to release,
release.
CHRIS: Now, he has to let
Lucky go.
You can only hold for ten
seconds.
[crashing]
Skorpios is probably thinking,
but I'm in my happy place.
KENNY: Lucky doesn't look
right, Chris.
That first overhead attack
clearly caused some damage.
[crashing]
CHRIS: As Lucky tries
to flip his way out, but--
Uh oh, here comes the pain
[metal scraping]
KENNY: It's Skorpios that's
getting underneath Lucky,
and Lucky is lucky
[metal scraping]
to have titanium as its armor.
CHRIS: But, I'll tell you,
I've seen very little on
the offensive from Lucky.
All he's doin' is getting a
close shave,
[metal scraping]

KENNY: Lucky seems that
be having some trouble.
CHRIS: After that barrage
of abuse from Skorpios,
I'm not surprised.
KENNY: But his flipper
is still active, Chris.
Skorpios needs
to be wary of that.

CHRIS: Back to work for
Skorpios.
KENNY: Well, now he's
starting to get close,
Skorpios is starting to get
close,
there's some dangerous
parts there on Lucky.
CHRIS: Under a minute to
go, the k*ll-saws are active.
Of course, Skorpios'
k*ll-saw has been active
from the get-go.
[crashing]
KENNY: Lucky's drivetrain
is obviously gone, Chris.
Uh oh.
[metal scraping]
CHRIS: Right on the
kids' signature, come on.
[crowd yelling]
[crashing]
Ah, yeah.
[crashing]
Skorpios having a field day,
Kenny.
[crowd yelling]
KENNY: Losing mobility
against a saw is
the worst thing possible
[crashing]
Chris, very unlucky, he's
just trapped in the corner.
[metal clattering]
[metal scraping]
- [Kenny and Chris] Whoa.
CHRIS: But lucky with that
flipper,
now he's latched on to Skorpios.
Lifting the dance of the
wild-side, you brute.
[crowd yelling]
[metal scraping]
KENNY: Oh, k*ll-saws
helped out Skorpios
[metal scraping]
a little bit.
CHRIS: Ahh.
[metal scraping]
KENNY: And then he
got nailed with them.
CHRIS: Oh, Lucky.
[metal scraping]
Takin' saws on top and then the
bottom.
The waiting, seconds this match.
Only five seconds left to go.
Skorpios wants one more slice.
I'll have mine to go, please.
KENNY: Whoa. Great
hit there at the end.
CHRIS: What an impressive
performance
from Orion Beach and Skorpios.
Take a spin and a bow as
this one goes to the judges.
Kenny, break it down for us.
KENNY: Well, Skorpios
ex*cuted his game-plan
beautifully, Chris, and if we
look closely
at that first hit, we can see
Skorpios got
a direct hit on Lucky's front
wheel,
which basically immobilized
him from that point on.
CHRIS: And check out this bot
cam
for a great look at the carnage
Skorpios was delivering.
Man, this is one mean, lean bot.
[crashing]

Let's go to Faruq for the
decision.
- The results from the judges

And, the winner, by unanimous

Skorpios.

CHRIS: So, Skorpios
takes the all important win
and gets a step closer
to berth in the final 16.
Kenny, these guys have
got to be considered
real contenders.
KENNY: Absolutely, I mean,
they're fast
and they can scoop you up and
use
the box to their
advantage and that weapon?
Well, pretty, pretty perfect
match.
CHRIS: Coming up later,
Gigabyte goes
on a collision course to
dethrone the king.
Let's take a closer
look at our main event.
- Last season, I was a
part of the team Invader.
We had some catastrophic
failure in our very first fight.
And, since then, everybody
really hustled up,
put in the work, and built
something so dangerous,
there's no real location
to actually test it.
CHRIS: That's a deadly,
k*ller speed.
- It's pretty scary.
[Chris yelling]
KENNY: What a hit.
- We had extensive damage
after the Minotaur match.
[crashing]
[everyone yelling]
Most of the frame was either
bent, twisted, or just cut.
I mean, this is some brutal
stuff here.
It may have looked like it
was still running correctly,
but it was really damaged
after the last match.
So, we spent a great deal of
time
cutting, welding, and grinding,
replacing sections of the frame.
We got it all back together
and spun it up in the test box.
Everything looks like
it's gonna work real well,
so I'm expectin' a really good
match.
[dramatic techno music]
- Gigabyte is a horizontal
spinner.
It can spin somewhere around
the 350 mile an hour mark,
So, it's capable of mass
destruction.
It reminds me of my ex-wife.
She's kinda mean and nasty.
[rock music]
- And we actually have a long
history
of being at the same events
and fighting a few time
and what not.
They're known for big,
huge hits, just like me.
I still think that the
tournament is mine to win.
I think we're ready, we've
been busy for a while,
gettin' ready, but I
think we're ready to go
and I think we're gonna get 'em.
[dramatic techno music]
- This robot is modeled
right after Megabyte
that actually took down
Tombstone.
And believe that this is
a better robot by far.
When the fighting starts,

CHRIS: But first, this is a

I've been looking forward to for
weeks.
Battle Royale With Cheese
led by Miles Pekala
and he's brought a burger
with a horizontal spinning
slab of bacon, that we're
told can get up to 150 mph.
KENNY: That's some real
fast bacon, there, Chris.
- The thing looks like
a bacon cheeseburger.
It's crazy, they're
dressed like a Happy Meal
inside the box. [Kenny laughing]
Can I take them seriously?
- It looks delicious.
He'll be going against Aren Hill
and Tantrum, a titanium
spring-loaded flipper
that has 9,000 pounds of
pressure.
He's looking to get in between
those buns
and serve some burgers well
done.
This should be a whole lotta
fun, Chris.
- Hey, I'm hungry.
Let's take it inside the box.

it'll make you a bigger
crybaby than Tom Brady.

CHRIS: Aw, look at that,
Kenny.
Aren Hill actually installed a
spatula
on the front of Tantrum.
He's even got cooking utensils
in those fists of fury.

Next to this bot, yours
ain't lookin' so big, Mac.

It's Battle Royale With Cheese.
CHRIS: Kenny, Battle
Royale With Cheese may look
delicious, but it's built like a
tank.
It has 70 pounds of armor on its
exterior,
which is roughly, if you
make me do the math here,
We'll see how much of
that Tantrum can eat up.
- This is going into my first
match here at BattleBots,
so facing Battle Royale With
Cheese, I think is a very
entertaining matchup as far as
the amount of personality
both robots have.
Typically, it's robot fightin'
time,
this time, it's burger flippin'
time.
Since our blade is on the
directional,
we can like run around him while
attacking
and he has to aim towards us,
and so that's our strategy.
I can't believe I brought
a hamburger to BattleBots.
I mean, what the hell am I
doing?

He is quite the showman.

KENNY: Oh, now that the bacon

just about to start spinning,
but Tantrum, he's very angry.
CHRIS: Is he ever.

As he slams Royale With Cheese,
forcing him into the corner.
Delicate work with the spatula

Oh, he's under the bun.
Uh oh, uh oh.
- I think we're alive.
[screaming]

- Whoa.
- That burger's pretty
dense, that's gonna stay

Oh, now he's trying to cut up
the burger.
[crashing]
CHRIS: Yeah.
Alright, Battle Royale With
Cheese still moving, barely.
Let's keep that bacon spinning.

KENNY: Well, it's been
very easy for Tantrum
to get underneath that
burger with that spatula.
CHRIS: Kenny, it's hard to
believe
that it is amateur fighting
days.
Miles Pekala went two
and 56 as a bot builder.
It's shocking.
[crowd yelling]
And what's that?
[laughing]
Do I smell bacon, Kenny?
- Oh yes, yes, yes, yes.
[crowd yelling]
KENNY: Now, the bacon
is spinning, Chris.
The bacon is spinning.
- Come on Aren.
CHRIS: Here we go.

KENNY: Oh, and then
Tantrum jammed it up.
Oh, the k*ll-saws are getting
involved.
CHRIS: Oh, here we go, nice.
Slice that thing right down the

we'll go halves-ies on the

KENNY: Oh yeah, it's safe to
say,
Tantrum is just playing
with his food at this point.
Driving it into the screws.
That spatula stuck in between
the buns.

CHRIS: Battle Royale With
Cheese in the k*ll-saws.

With Cheese are just thrilled

KENNY: Their fate is in
the hands of the judges, now.
Tantrum really wasn't
playing too many games here.
Got a flip right off the bat,
and it was looking like an early
K-O
until Tantrum decided to cook
that burger on the other side.
CHRIS: And Kenny, Battle
the Royale With Cheese just
couldn't seem to get that
primary weapon going.
I can eat bacon faster than they
can get
that spinner up to speed.

as he faces off against
the legendary driver,
Donald Hutson and Lock-Jaw.
And then later tonight,
something you're not gonna wanna
miss,
it's a zombie, back from the
dead,
Gigabyte going full force to
haunt the grim reaper himself,
Tombstone.
[crowd cheering]
- We've got a rumble coming your
way
and you know the drill by now.
Three robots go in the box,
only one can win.
And we got a couple of bots
that we haven't seen yet this
season.
Let's start with Gemini.
And if you feel like
you're looking at the bot
and you say, "I'm seein' double
here,"
it's because you are.
KENNY: Yeah, only one or two
can win.
We have two bots here,
each weighs a 123 pounds.
They are horizontal spinners and
they want
to win really bad.
CHRIS: We saw Kraken lose
a rumble earlier this year,
Matt Spurk, you have to be
careful of him
because he was a double
agent the first time around.
He made alliances with
both of the other drivers
that didn't exactly work out.
And then finally, there is
Mohawk.
That thing is gonna ride
around
like it's hair is on fire,
uh, because it is.
KENNY: Yeah, absolutely and
it involves
one of the legendary families
that we have
in BattleBots, the Bales family.
It's a crusher, famous for its
flames,
if it gets ahold of you,
the tip of that crusher
will burn your internals.
I can't wait for this one.
- Let's check it out inside the
box.
[crowd cheering]
- In the red square, your
lips will be smacking,
fighting spirit won't be
lackin',
destruction will be stackin'.
It's Kraken.
[crowd cheering]
CHRIS: Kenny, Kraken is
the only one of the three bots
that has fought so far this
season
and apparently, [laughing] I
don't know,
maybe it cut itself shaving?
KENNY: Ah, how did they
find a bandaid that big?
Geez.
[crowd cheering]
- In the blue square,
with a rebel yell,
it cried, gore, gore, gore.
It's one mean punk
that'll turn you into junk.
Rock out with your bot out,
it's Mohawk.
[crowd cheering]
CHRIS: Kenny, with Mohawk,
obviously,
that hair will be on fire.
KENNY: Can I cut your hair
into a mohawk if they win this?
CHRIS: No, but you can
shave my back hair if you want.
KENNY: Oh, okay.
- In the green square,
This gruesome twosome will
have you seeing double
and reduce you to rubble.
Your gore-a-scope today is
looking grim.
Say hello to the evil twins,
Gemini.
[crowd cheering]
CHRIS: So there are the
two bots of Ace Shelander
and Gemini and let's
remember it's not good enough
for the opponents just to
take out one of the bots
in order for a knockout to
happen.
Both have to be dead and gone.
[crowd cheering]
ROBOT: Robots, activate.
KENNY: How 'bout Mohawk?
CHRIS: Oh, we've got a show
already.
KENNY: That hair's nicer than
mine.
[dramatic techno music]
[crowd cheering]
[crowd chanting]
[buzzing]
Let the bots rumble begin.
[crashing]
Oh, here we go.
It looks like the
alliance might be working
because both Kraken and
Mohawk are on the move
and Kraken has already
caught its teeth here
on the rails in front of us.
KENNY: Yeah, it looks
like Kraken is tryin'
to attack the box, now he's
outta there.
CHRIS: The snakebite almost
got him.
KENNY: Trying to attack one
of the bots of team Gemini.
He has it blocked up on the
teeth.
CHRIS: OH, he's got it now,
let's see if he clamps down.
[crowd cheering]
[crashing]
KENNY: Oh, big hit,
let's see if he can crush
and inject flames.
[crashing]
CHRIS: The other Gemini
coming over to help,
but no, he just smacked
his twin bro.
KENNY: Oh, he unlocked one
frozen dropping by Mohawk,
he allowed team Gemini
to destroy themselves.
CHRIS: In the meantime,
Kraken's gotta go see a dentist,
it's got its teeth
caught in the screw.
- I'm stuck.
CHRIS: And here goes Mohawk
again.
[crashing]
[yelling]
He's got the other Gemini into
the screws
and into the rail.
KENNY: Max Bales is
killin' it right now,
he's on a rampage.
[metal clattering]
Just destroying bots
while Kraken is livin'
in struggle-town.
- Completely dead, I got
nothin'.
CHRIS: So with Kraken out,
this is now a two-horse race.
Well, actually three.
[crowd yelling]
Mohawk, more than a
minute into this fight,
far and away the most
impressive of the three bots.
KENNY: However, he almost
got caught in the screws there.
[crashing]
[crowd yelling]
[crashing]
Yeah, Mohawk is really smart
right now, he's never allowing
these horizontal spinners
to get a head-on shot.
CHRIS: But that heat from
Mohawk seemed
to have gone missing.
[crashing]
What's gonna happen to that
flame?
Oh, it's spewing out everywhere.
When we get a good look at
Mohawk,
staring him right in the
eyes, what am I saying,
that bot doesn't have any eyes?
KENNY: Mohawk just
destroying these bots here,
rammin' 'em around, crushing
'em, oh,
he's attacking the side and
he's puttin' him on flames,
up high through.
[crashing]
CHRIS: Oh, yes.
[crashing]
Now it looks like one
of these Gemini bots is
down for the count, trying
to move a little bit,
got bad wheels, we can see
that right in front of us.
As for the other--
[crashing]
[chuckling] Look at Mohawk.
KENNY: No mercy here from
Mohawk.
CHRIS: Now under a minute to
go.
The k*ll-saws are operational.
[crashing]
Bet Gemini can tell you that.
Watch out, Mohawk, you're
about to get k*ll-sawed.
KENNY: Uh oh.
[metal scraping]
[crowd yelling]
[metal scraping]
Mohawk is not moving right
now, this is not good.
CHRIS: Ah, that hurts
my teeth.
[crashing]
[metal scraping]
KENNY: The worst place
to get stuck, Chris.
Good news for Gemini, though.
[crowd yelling]
- We need to see movement.
Let's move him
when the saws go up.
- I'm ready to count you
out, I need to see movement.
CHRIS: You've got to be
kidding me,
Mohawk doing so much damage.
- Ten, nine.
CHRIS:
Here comes the countdown.
- Eight.
KENNY: This is not good.
What an upset this would be
here.
- Six, five.
- Gemini is still moving.
It's the only bot
that's moving right now.
- Two, one. Knockout.
[buzzing]
- We didn't win.
[crowd yelling]
CHRIS: In the end,
Ace Shelander
and Gemini will end up
victorious
with a double K-O against
Kraken and Mohawk,
who really defeated
themselves here in the rumble.
- Mohawk simply dominated
this entire fight.
No question about it.
And then you know what happened?
Roboting.
KENNY: It's right, you
can train for everything,
you can prepare for all
these different things,
but sometimes, chaos
gets in the box as well,
and that's the hit right
there that defeated Mohawk.
[dramatic techno music]
- Time to get you all set
for End Game versus Lock-Jaw.
Tonight, Jack Barker gets
the chance to prove himself,
going up against one of the
most experienced drivers
in the competition, Donald
Hutson.
KENNY: On paper,
these robots look alike.
They are vertical disk-spinners
with similar weights and
drive-power,
but End Game packs heavier
punch in its weapon.
It's the fastest vertical
spinner in the field this year.
End Game's low center of gravity
makes it difficult to flip over.
But its biggest weakness is
that it can't self-right.
CHRIS: And we saw Donald
take advantage of that
in his first fight of
the year with Bombshell.
KENNY: Lock-Jaw
basically has two weapons,
those claws that spinner
give him versatility
in the battle box, but his
exposed wheels
leave his sides defenseless.
I believe End Game is fast
enough to get around to them.
Both these teams are
undefeated, so far this season.
This is a dream matchup.
- Here we go.
[crowd cheering]
[dramatic techno music]
- In the red square,
this bot is my precious.
You shall not lost.
It's End Game.
[crowd cheering]
CHRIS: Jack started his
career in combat robotics
just four years ago.
The kid's pretty impressive.
- In the blue square,
It preys on inferior tech
and turns them into a wreck.
Forget the jaws of life,
this bot's bringing the jaws of
death.
It's Lock-Jaw.
[crowd cheering]
CHRIS: Donald Hutson just
can't get enough of BattleBots.
He told us this is the
ultimate opportunity
to compete against the
best engineers out there.
There are few competitions
where merely surviving is so
honorable.
- Having two spinners, they're
alike
with similar capabilities,
going against each other is
always a destructive situation.
'Cause, you know, we
both have the same goal.
We want to put the other robot
into each other's weapon and
cause havoc.
Our main strategy is
gonna be to try and avoid
his forks on the front and also
try to get
to his open wheels, because we
know they're a vulnerability
to his robot and if we can take
them off,
he won't be able to move.
[crowd cheering]
ROBOT: Robots, activate.
[crowd yelling]
CHRIS: Looks like End Game is
moving
pretty quickly, Kenny.
KENNY: Yeah, Jack told
us he would shave down
that wedge little, no
clearance issues now.
[dramatic techno music]
[crowd cheering]
[crowd chanting]
[buzzing]
CHRIS: Let the bot battle
begin.
End Game trying to get around
Lock-Jaw.
Donald Hutson said he'd
want to be very patient
approaching End Game.
[crowd yelling]
CHRIS: He's coming from the
back now.
[crashing]
Uh oh.
Kenny, is Lock-Jaw stuck?
[crowd yelling]
Here comes End Game.
[crashing]
Oh, he's stuck in one
of the k*ll-saw areas.
KENNY: Aw.
[crowd yelling]
CHRIS: Oh no, that is
just some terrible luck.
Oh, but he dislodged himself.
[crowd yelling]
Here comes End Game,
he's right--
Oh, it's like Donald's
in the ring with Tyson, Kenny.
KENNY: Well, he's dealing
with a very aggressive
Jack Barker right now, giving
Lock-Jaw no room to breathe.
[crashing]
Aw, nice hit there
by End Game.
[crashing]
CHRIS: There goes the wheel
and a serious shot by
Lock-Jaw, too, on End Game.
[metal clattering]
[crowd yelling]
Oh, look at the kinetic
energy being transferred
from bot to bot.
[crowd yelling]
Lock-Jaw might be down for the
count.
KENNY: Aw, Chris,
End Game just ruthless.
He's like a shark swimming
with blood in the water.
Have your wheel back,
Lock-Jaw, I want some more fun.
Donald Hutson trying
to get the bot moving.
[crashing]
- Oh, oh.
KENNY: Jack Barker, though,
showing no mercy right now,
trying to take apart the other
wheel.
CHRIS: End Game is all over
Lock-Jaw,
not giving him an inch.
The young-g*n produces--
[crashing]
Oh, disrespecting the old king.
How impressive has End Game
been?
A minute and 15 seconds into
this match.
KENNY: This could get real
ugly, Chris,
but End Game holding back.
[crowd yelling]
Jack Barker, perhaps, sensing
Lock-Jaw is
finally incapacitated.
[crowd yelling]
- Ten, nine.
[crowd yelling]
- The countdown has begun, End
Game on route to two and O,
both wins by knockout.
[crowd yelling]
- Five, four.
- He called out Tombstone
in fight one, now he's K-O'd the
guy
with six giant nuts.
- Two, one, knockdown.
KENNY: End Game living up to
his name.
CHRIS: Jack Barker is
the name, remember it,
this year in BattleBots.
KENNY: My goodness.
CHRIS: Kenny, such a bummer
of a start for Lock-Jaw.
KENNY: Yeah, you
see those arms are very
low to the ground, they look too
low.
He got stuck right at the slots
where the k*ll-saws come out
for End Game and Jack Barker,
this is young team,
they know how to drive,
they know how to build, and
Chris,
at this level, you cannot
make any kind of mistakes.
The Battle Box can be your best
friend
or your worst nightmare.
[crowd cheering]
- Kenny, with each passing
match, we're learning more
and more about Jack Barker and
End Game.
I love what I'm seeing here.
KENNY: I'm blown away by his
bot,
I'm blown away by his driving.
They might take it all, man.
I'm telling you, they're that
good.
CHRIS: Coming up next, uh oh,
I hear 'em coming, even
through the headphones.
That's right, Tombstone is back
and ready to do battle against
Gigabyte.
The main event, coming your way,
next.
[heavy rock music]
- I feel like I just got a
good a*s-whoppin', right?
But you know, I'm willing
to just swallow my pride
and just get back in there.
I'm just gonna leave that
for them on their chair.
I bet--
Oh, better idea.

Hi fellas.
- You scratched the paint.
The one thing we asked
you not to do, Donald.
Donald is one of the veterans
and one of the veterans
I look up to.
I've been watching him
so since I was a kid.
I was managed to beat them
by knocking off two wheels.
I was pretty happy about that.
As newcomers to BattleBots,
hopefully,
people will start to know ya,
knowing us.
- This is the wheel piece.
- Was it is the fridge?
- Yes.
[laughing]
- It's nice and cool, too.
- Donald, I hope we can still be
friends.
CHRIS: We are back with the
main event
on BattleBots Fight Night.
Tombstone is officially
in the house.
Now, Kenny, since 2016,
we have seen him fight seven
matches now.
He has won six by knockout.
Is there anything that can stop
that dude?
KENNY: Yeah, I'm not sure.
Listen, this is a guy who
competes all the time.
He just makes refinements,
year after year,
he only gets better.
CHRIS: There aren't many
robots
that can hit as hard as
Tombstone,
but Gigabyte might be one of
them.
And, I don't know what
the strategy is going
against a robot like this.
It doesn't have a front,
or a back, or a side.
If it corners you, the
only way you're going
to get around or defeat it
is to go straight through it.
Kenny, how do these two look
side-by-side?
KENNY: Deadly, Chris.
Tombstone is bringing out
a longer blade
in preparation for tonight, 71
pounds
and spinning at 235 mph.
It's got teeth at each end of
the blade,
all that force will
allow him to take bites
out of his opponent.
In comparison, Gigabyte's
spinning at around a 161 mph,
but its entire shell is
a weapon, and it's heavier
than Tombstone's blade
at a 110 pounds.
- Can anyone top Tombstone?
Let's find out, inside the box.
- Ladies and Gentlemen,
it's time for our main event.
[dramatic techno music]
[crowd cheering]
CHRIS: Kenny, I'm excited to
see what
that colorful, full body spinner
can do against Tombstone.
KENNY: Well, I tell you
what, it's a very powerful bot.
I had the pleasure of
watching Gigabyte spin up
and man, that thing is scary.
[crowd cheering]
[dramatic techno music]
[crowd yelling]
CHRIS: There's the champ from
Ray Billing's all smiles,
but as impressive as Tombstone
was
in beating Minotaur in his first
match,
he only has one frame.
There's no way that his robot is
as fresh
as it was before that fight.
Ray Billings has got to be a bit
worried
going up against a
heavy-hitter like Gigabyte.
KENNY: Well, you're right,
Chris.
With a long season ahead and
with a compromised frame,
even Ray has to be a little
concerned.
- In the red square,
this robot's like an ex-wife,
really mean and it's gonna hurt
you.
[crowd booing]
No, No, seriously.
That's the actual quote from the
builder.
He said that.
[laughing]
It's Gigabyte.
[crowd cheering]
CHRIS: Brent is a
self-proclaimed perfectionist
and excellent machinist, and
the majority of the parts
for Gigabyte are built
right in his garage.
- In the blue square,
call the dog-catcher,
'cause this hound from
the hell needs a muzzle,
if the devil had a pet,
it's what he would cuddle.
It's Tombstone.
[crowd cheering]
CHRIS: Kenny, it's
always interesting to see
what sort of blade choice
Ray Billings makes.
Tonight, it's a two-inch
aluminum bar.
It's the thickest of his five
bars.
KENNY: Yeah, Ray's going with
some extra weapon-power tonight
because he knows that Gigabyte
is such a heavy hitter.
- I'm gonna spin up and smack
him
and hopefully continue to do
that
until they stop working.
- Get in and get underneath him,
get him unsettled, get it at
his wheels, any way you can.
He can move pretty quickly,
so it's a real challenge.
We're both heavy-hitters.
There's gonna be some carnage, I
think.
[crowd cheering]
ROBOT: Robots, activate.
[crowd cheering]
CHRIS: Now the key for
Gigabyte,
can he get up and go in full
speed before Ray gets on him?
KENNY: Well, he's got five
seconds
to get up to full speed,
so don't be surprised
if you see Tombstone go out
there
and try to get a hit right off
the bat.
ROBOT: Red team, ready?
[clunk]
[crowd yelling]
Blue Team, ready?
[clunk]
[crowd yelling]
[dramatic techno music]
[crowd chanting]
[buzzing]
CHRIS: Let the bot main event
begin.
[crowd cheering]
Gigabyte already up to speed.
[crashing]
Tombstone slowly inching
foreword.
We got some sparks on an
end-to-end--
[crashing]
Oh, oh.
Something already flew off.
Part of Ray's blade.
KENNY: It looked like the
top component of Gigabyte's
cone, Chris, that can't be good.
CHRIS: Oh. Ah.
KENNY: It got knocked across
the pad--
Whoa.
[crowd yelling]
- Wow, Gigabyte has lost
it's dome.
KENNY: Gigabyte is still
moving,
but he's got no protection.
- We're done, we're done.
- There's no tapping out,
there's no tapping out, guys.
Keep going.
[crowd yelling]
CHRIS: Hey Brent,
this is BattleBots,
there's no tappin' out,
this ain't no WWE league.
Gigabyte's got no clothes on.
Uh oh, oh no, no, don't do it.
- Stop moving Sean.
KENNY: Put an end to this
madness.
CHRIS: Kids, turn away.
- Stop moving.
CHRIS: This is not
suitable for all audiences.
- Alright guys, we're done.
- If you don't show any
movement.
- We're done.
- I'm gonna have to count you
down.
- We get it.
- Ten, nine.
CHRIS: The countdown is on.
KENNY: Good sportsmanship
there from Ray Billings.
[yelling]
CHRIS: Making another
K-O for the nastiest bot
on the planet,
- Knockdown.
CHRIS: Tombstone.
[buzzing]
[crowd cheering]
KENNY: Well, the carnage
continues for Tombstone.
There he is, trying to catch
the rainbow that is Gigabyte.
And boom, there goes the top
nut keeping it all together.
But in the end, it was that
big hit that knocked off
the dome, hit outta here.
Tombstone turned into a
can opener, there he goes.
Sends the dome of Gigabyte
flying across the Battlebox
and Gigabyte's got a
long way to go to prove
into this same category as
megabyte.
- Ray. Another win.
- We had so much work to get to
this point
and I'm just so happy that it
worked
like it was supposed to,
and that was a pretty good hit.
- What was the plan going in?
- I was hoping to just
kind of keep tapping him
and see if I could make
him expend their energy
on the arena instead of on me.
But we just happened to
get that one just right hit
and sort of just lifted him off
the body.
- Well it was a great match,
very enjoyable to watch,
and I know that you're a lot
happier now.
- I'm really relieved right now,
that was gonna be a tough one.
So yeah we're doing good,
got back together, robot
works like it's supposed to,
I'm looking for another giant
nut.
- Congratulations.
- Thank you.
[crowd cheering]
- Kenny I think for the first
time ever
we literally saw Tombstone
undress the competition.
- That was unbelievable, he
looked like a can opener.
And Gigabyte is a dangerous bot,
but Ray Billings, he
continues to go out there
and destroy the competition.
For anyone back there that's
looking for a weakness,
he doesn't have it.
