TJ: We don't have a lot of
time left in this season.

WILL: Getting antsy.

NARRATOR: The

NICK: He's right here.

TYLER: Sea monster, baby!
NICK: Get him!

NARRATOR: Reaches
its breaking point.

DUFFY: Whoa!
TYLER: Oh, the stick's out!

DUFFY: Big fish, man.

TYLER: We're
gonna lose $10,000.

NARRATOR: Who will rise?

CHARLIE: Damn,
this thing's heavy.

BRITTON: We're
climbing the ladder.

NICK: Got thousands
of dollars hanging on
a little, tiny string.

NARRATOR: And who will sink?

TYLER: We took a big wave
and we're, like, half sinking.

MARCIANO: Ain't no
fish worth dying over.

but a single fish could

launch Foolish Pleasures,
pinwheel, Fishin' Frenzy,

or Doghouse into the lead.

Meanwhile, local family
operation Reels Of Fortune
and flailing Gloucester boat

Hard Merchandise trail
behind the fleet.

JARRETT: Gonna
be a long night.

TJ: What in the world?

This is supposed to be
a real good mark right
in here somewhere.

I haven't seen it yet though.

If we don't have one by
noon tomorrow, we're "brrr".

We're the number one boat in
the fleet and that sounds
great and all,

but it is a
double-edged sword.

TJ: Right now, if we don't
produce, the only place we're
gonna go is down.

So while most of the fleet has
gone in for the night, we're
gonna fight to make sure that

number spot doesn't get
away from the Hot Tuna.

JARRETT: We're gonna stay out
here overnight, be here first
thing in the morning,

be in the right spot as soon
as the sun comes up, and
hopefully catch a fish.

TJ: See that?

Looks like Foolish Pleasures
over there has the same idea.

DALE: It'd be nice to catch
some fish tonight, you know,
first thing in the morning.

WILL: What do you

DALE: I guess keep 'em
out, you know, for another
probably 20 minutes.

DALE: The night shift.

We gotta maximize
every second that we got.

We've got to put

ED: There's a lot

DISPATCHER [over radio]:
Small craft advisory for
the following county.

Outer Banks near North
Carolina, Oregon Inlet.

Winds increasing to
35 to 45 knots, seas
building tonight to 17 feet.

GREG: Alright.

I'm not really looking forward
to going across the bar here
this morning, but...

BILLON: Oh, hell, no.
GREG: All we can do
is go look at it.

GREG: When it's rough,
Oregon Inlet is a real
challenge to cross.

GREG [off-screen]: First, we've
gotta navigate between the
pilings of the Bonner Bridge,

then survive the bar where
winds and sea coming from
offshore creating choppy

conditions and dangerous waves
that are notorious for
destroying boats down here.

I don't know what we're
gonna find on the bar.

With an outgoing tide,
that's the worst
situation we can have,

outgoing tide, incoming
swell, it's gonna be ugly.

So, we'll go look at it,
get there at first light.

If we can go across, we'll go
across, if we can't, we can't.

I mean, that's all you can do.

Let her go!

BILLON: Go forward!

NICK: You ready to go fishing?

CAINE: Feeling
lucky this morning.
BRITTON: Yeah.

We're going to run down here
and check the Inlet out and
see if we can't get across.

You know, we wanna
catch fish, but if we
get torn up right here,

this could be bad.

BRITTON [off-screen]: We catch
different things throughout
the course of the year,

but my commercial Bluefin
season is the make or
break of our year.

BRITTON: I don't just
want to get out fishing,
I need to get out fishing.

AUSTIN: This Inlet's no joke.

AUSTIN: This is one of
the dangerous Inlets on
the East Coast.

BRITTON: Pray that God
watches after everybody
coming and going here.

JAKE: I'm just gonna let her
take it until she's level.

CHARLIE: When we speak of
the bar, speed is a big thing.

CHARLIE: What side
should I pass the Merch on?

CHARLIE [off-screen]: I think
that's one of the biggest
things that gives Dave such

a fit here is, is speed.

We know that the bar
is gonna be rough.

For a slow boat to try to
get through there, it's
very, very dangerous.

MARCIANO: Yeah, we're used to
getting passed on this boat.

CLIFF: It don't matter.

They're all the same speed
once you get there trolling.

MARCIANO: Yeah.

CLIFF: Not catching any
fish this season so far has
really put a strain on

my family's finances.

It's super important
for us to get out there.

You're not gonna catch fish if
you can't get across that bar.

MARCIANO: I never had,
knock on wood, any problems
during this part.

CLIFF: Yeah.
MARCIANO: My problems
always started at the bridge.

MARCIANO: I had a run-in
with this Outer Banks
Inlet last year.

[bleep] man.

MARCIANO [off-screen]:
So I know the kind of
damage it can do to a

slow boat like mine
when it's rough.

But I'm hoping we'll be
able to get out fishing
today because we're

running out of time.

The coastguard is literally
ready for trouble if one of
these boats has trouble.

Hopefully, nobody will.

COAST GUARD [over radio]:
Making a pass on 66.

TYLER: We're on our
way to the meat pile.

Definitely gonna
happen for us today.

TYLER: We know where
we got to go and we
know what we got to do.

Yeah, we got through
bridge, thank God.

TYLER: Step

TYLER: The bar's about a half
to three quarters a mile after
you get through the bridge.

So, it's almost like
once you get through one
big obstacle, bang,

see if we can't get out.

main span, plenty of water.

inlet like he's used to.

Merch is gonna be though.

DUFFY: We're out

TYLER: We're going fishing!

It's coming in fast, bro.

GREG: There's the Merch.

MARCIANO: Yeah.
We're getting up
to the bridge.

What's got me concerned is
there's the beach breakers and
you need speed to time it to

get out between the breaks and
that's the one thing we don't
have on this boat is speed.

We're gonna have to make a
judgment call once we get out
there and look.

CAINE: Coming
across the bar here.

Is that Griff?

AUSTIN: Yeah.
CAINE: He's letting her eat.

AUSTIN: Whoa.

JAKE: Ooh. Ooh.
What the hell?

JAKE: The whole bow comes
out of the water. There
ain't really much you can do.

CHARLIE: Marciano.

CHARLIE [over radio]: I would
not do that if I were you.
If I did not have any speed...

CHARLIE: I wouldn't do it.

I'm through there, I'm
across there, and there's
some [bleep] that'll take

your cabin off.

CHARLIE [over radio]:
Just, uh, just my opinion.

MARCIANO: I'm gonna take
that under advisement, Griff.

CAINE: Good job, Britton.

GREG: Just hold on.

We got some speed and we got a
big high bow, so it's not that
much of an issue for us.

I would not wanna be on the
Hard Merch trying this today.

MARCIANO: Alright.

Let's take a look
coming up on the bar here.

CLIFF: That bar is big.
There's some
rollers coming up there.

Wow, look at it.

DUFFY: That's why our high
water alarm's been going off.

DUFFY: There's a lot
of water in the engine.

TYLER: We go
through the Inlet.

We took a big wave
and you know what?

We snapped the
through hull right off.

Now with the engine
room filled with water.

TYLER: I ******* snapped
the ******* livewell
pump right off.

TYLER [over radio]:
A two-inch through-hull
coming in the boat.

CLIFF: What happened?
MARCIANO: Tyler's
filling up with water.

What's gonna happen
today is we ain't going out.

TYLER: I'm, like, half sinking.

DUFFY: Do something, dude.
We're going down, bro.

DUFFY: That's why our high
water alarm's been going off.

DUFFY: There's a lot
of water in the engine.

TYLER: Going
through the inlet
we took a big wave...

and you know what?

risk happening is if we
hit, get hit by one of
those breaking waves,

These other guys are
making it and they're
making just barely,

and they got boats that are
twice, if not three times,
faster than mine.

But it just ain't
worth the risk today.

Ain't no fish
worth dying over.

We're going back.

TYLER: I'm,
like, half sinking.

TYLER: Like what the [bleep] it
rocked the [bleep] out of me.

GREG: Tyler's
boat's falling apart.

TYLER: Emergency pump
out system on right now.

DUFFY: Dude.
TYLER: Move this one.

DUFFY: Like where's your...
TYLER: Open this one.

I want you to look
in the livewell pump.
Yeah right?

Oh, I got it.

DUFFY: Just the hose?

TYLER: It's buying us time.

Yep, it was.
It's fine though.
We're good.

Emergency pump out
system pumping the boat out.

We ended up breaking a
stainless steel through-hull.

Thank God we had a shut
off for the through-hull.

I turned on my emergency
pump out system and my
alarms came on,

pumped the boat out, we're
still able to go fishing.

That's why it's so important
that you know your boat.

NICK: You alright?

TYLER: We were
half full of water.

I had to put on the
emergency pump out system.

It's freaking scary.

GREG: You got her stopped?
TYLER: Yeah.

I capped it off, shut it,
good to go, can go fishing.

GREG: Alright, cool.

TYLER: Just shows you how
dangerous the waves are
in there, you know?

NICK: Welcome to Oregon Inlet!

TYLER: Hey, I love it, baby.

Not only do I love your
fish, I love your women.

Whoo.

GREG: When we're out
here fishing, it's every
man for himself.

GREG: If someone gets in
trouble, the rules change.

We're gonna help them.

That's how you do it on the
water and really we don't want
the bar to take Tyler out.

We want the pleasure of
doing that ourselves.

NICK: That could
have been bad.

That could have been real bad.

DALE: I was dozing off.

I was so
comfortable last night.

WILL: Oh, yeah.
The life foam down there.

DALE: Mother's arms.

We stayed out here last
night, looking for a bite.

DALE: Now, if we could get a
bluefin tuna, it'd be closer
to doing what we came down to

the Outer Banks to do, and
that's make some money and
dominate the tuna fishery.

WILL: See, I wanna
see a big flat spot.

Today's the day where you
would see the flat spot.

DALE: Holy [bleep] dude,
the mother load's down here.

I'm marking them pretty
good under the boat right now.

ED: Time is of the essence
when we're down here doing
this for a paycheck.

ED: It is a situation
where I need to catch fish.

We need to put
money in our pockets.

overnight and you put in that
extra time and you look out in

the distance and you see
another boat actually fighting
a fish and you haven't had a

bite, it is a bummer.

If we don't fall behind and we
can get a couple nice fish,
we'll be right there in the

hunt for the top spot there,
so as much as we're here to
make money,

it would nice to finish
this thing out strong and
somewhere near the

top of that leaderboard.

WILL: Yeah, baby.

the tide, man, there's
absolutely a lot of current.

Hopefully with a little bit
of luck, you know, we'll
get this baby.

He's gonna be back there
on one of the back

I mean, I just marked

TJ: So it sounds like a
scattered bite, you know, up

At this point in the season,
you've got to point your boat
where the fish are.

TJ: Because you don't
get any make up days or
do overs out here.

We're the number one boat
now, but if we don't get
some fish soon,

we're gonna fall behind.

CHARLIE: We got a
nice fish, man.

DENNIS: Alright.

The kind of fish that
gets a buyer excited is
a fish with a lot of fat

and good rich color.

This is the
proof's in the pudding.

We're hoping that this fish
will come in somewhere around
$18 a pound because we need to

get as much money for this
fish as we possibly can.

DENNIS: You know,
this one's problematic.

Core is not bad and
color, tail color is
not bad, but very,

very little fat and
it's kind of very hard
texture to this meat,

the Japanese
call that Konnyaku.

CHARLIE: What do you think?

DENNIS: Unfortunately,
I don't have good news
for you on this one.

CHARLIE: Thanks, that's,
that's a paycheck for us.

JAKE: You catch a fish
that's almost a hundred
inches, you know,

you got high expectations
for that fish and the buyer
tells you $10 a pound,

you know, you want to dig
for earwax and see if you,
if you missed a number,

it's like you got
higher hopes than that.

CHARLIE: Hey, man, at least
we're not the biggest losers.

AUSTIN: Every minute that we
don't have a fish on or we're
not cleaning a fish,

my dad just builds up.

AUSTIN: I just hope we
catch three and we could
get out of here.

BRITTON: It's very difficult
not to be anxious, extremely
difficult.

It's, it's difficult not to
stress knowing that I have
more bills than I've ever had

in my life waiting to be paid.

We don't have very
many days left at all.

It's vital that we
hurry up and hook a fish.

AUSTIN: Maybe I
start with one. I'll
take one fish, whatever.

You can't tell looking at
him, but the pressure is
definitely on my dad.

My sister got diagnosed with
cancer and he's got a lot on
his plate right now.

I've never seen
my dad like this.

But he'll do anything he can
to get our family through.

That's a loving
person right there.

A strong person, too.

BRITTON: There they are.

ball or the fish.

Right now, we've got nothing.

AUSTIN: That joker
was, that was a big one.

BRITTON: So, we're riding
around in circles hoping that
my poly ball will float up and

then we can go over,
retrieve the poly ball and
hope that the fish is still

attached to the hook.

There it is
right there, Caine.

CAINE: Okay.
Got down there, son.

You know, right now,
we're thinking there's
gonna be a fish on there

but we're not for sure.

Fingers crossed.

BRITTON: He come off, Caine?

CAINE: Can't tell.

First, we've got to
get our hand on the poly ball.

There's a high potential
there's still a fish on there.

back on the bandit so we can

BRITTON: Right now, that hook
has nothing really holding it
in the fish's mouth.

So, it's vital that we
get some tension back
on that hook.

Caine and Austin are gonna
have to hand line the fish
up until we could get

a snap onto the bandit.
