It's not the greatest start
for the reel e bugging.

But if you want my honest
opinion, what they just did
was some stupid [bleep].

They stayed out in
hellacious weather.

You know, that's a tower boat.

It's an older boat.

It's not exactly up
to modern technology.

I mean these guys are
very, very lucky they got in
safely because this place is

dangerous and I don't know
if they've really wrapped their
heads around that quite yet.

Right now, I'm sure he's
second-guessing his decision.

Bobby: Tj's up on top.
Hot tuna's at the top.

They're off to a quick start.

You know, they don't
see us as a threat.

And that's gonna be a
critical mistake on their
end because they're certainly

gonna underestimate
the comeback here.

And this is not gonna be the
first or the last time that
we're gonna take these risks.

I can assure you we'll do
this another dozen times.

This is what you
have to do to win.

If it's fishable tomorrow,
we'll fish tomorrow.

We will not be the
boat at the dock.

Reed: We're almost on scene.

I don't really see
much feature here, but I'm
gonna start fishing anyway.

We're back out.
Setting out early in
the morning as usual.

We hear that bobby
bugging decided to stay
out and tried to fish

through the cold front,
wasn't a smart decision.

His equipment's failing.

So that puts him at the
dock fixing his problems
while the rest of us are out

fishing on the days
where he should be there.

That could give us
a true advantage.

Zack: There's tj right
there on the hot tuna.

Zack: We just got to
do everything we can to
stay in front of him.

Hopefully we'll get ours.

All the northern guys,
I mean they're firing
on all cylinders.

we're trying to get up there.

Our whole crew has the drive.

Back on the water.
Engines are running,
both of them.

It's been a rough start
to this season, but that's
just a fact of life when you

fish in the outer banks.

I do my best
fishing down here.

I do it every year down here.

Am I a southern boat?

Not in the true sense
of the word, but I
have a southern crew.

Yeah, I feel like this
is where I belong.

Brian: We got to

This place separates,

you know, the
men from the boys.

Every time I leave the dock,

there's a little
of apprehension.

Bobby: Every day,
every tide, it changes.

It's a treacherous place.

Oregon inlet is
unique because everything
changes every single day.

Before we even get to
the fishing grounds,
you have the pleasure of

navigating under
that damn bridge.

You would think water
flows in and flows out.

It doesn't.

It flows across the
bridge on a diagonal.

It makes steering very
difficult and it puts the
boat at risk of crashing.

Then comes the bar.

Hard breaking waves where
the ocean and the inlet meet.

The way the current comes
and those waves are breaking,
it wants to twist your boat.

The whole thing's a nightmare.

On top of that, you have to
go through the inlet's shallow
channels where the water depth

is constantly changing.

You get 12-foot of
water goes to three.

You're lucky to get six foot
of water most of the way.

It's a minefield.

Boat's running great.
Knock on wood.

You know, our strategy
from the beginning
is just work harder.

More hours.

Be out there when
no one's out there.

Well, right now, we're
back where we need to be.
